Material Requirement- Maint Plans

Dear All,
I have created many plans for the whole year and it has many tasklists with many components assigned. Now as per call dates order will be generated and then only material availability check will happen. May be during many call dates few material may not be available (because of larger lead times)and thats why plan can not be executed on exact dates. Now how to ensure today(know beforehand) itself that what are my future call objects(orders) requirements in terms of materials(spares).

When a order is committed with components for reservation or PR creation only, MRP run will takes place. If you prefer the commitment should takes place before 3 weeks, then u have to maintain the call horizon for the maintenance plan, to call the object 3 weeks before.
If u have maintain the MRP fields in the Material master only the MRP run will takes place for the materials which are committed in the order...
I hope this is only solution, we have in PM.

    Hi Experts,
                     Is it possible to do a simulated planning to get raw material requirement in a list form without creating planned orders ?
                     If we start from LTP, as per my understanding the moment we copy a planning scenario through MS64 or change through MS32, the plan is taken into operative version. As SAP recommends MS02 or MS01 only after that, the planned orders we are getting should be operative only. So how do we get a simulated requirement of raw materials? Please clarify.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
    In other words, can i say that if i have 2 or 3 planning alternatives to choose from on the basis of material analysis, I have to create separate planning scenarios for each of these and run MS01 one by one for each of these scenarios and then against each of these runs i have to do the material analysis and save it for comparison.
    Does it also mean that while  doing each MS01 run, i have to choose "delete and recreate planning data" till I arrive at the appropriate version to choose from ?
    And does it also mean that there is no way to know the material requirement for planning alternatives without doing any MRP run ?

    Dear All,
    I am facing a problem for creation of a planned order with error "Material requires configuration".
    To follow the note 180317, I change Account Assignment Category to "U" (Unknown).
    However, the system still does display the same error.
    Could you please help provide possible solution for this?

  • Creation Indicator in PR: B Material Requirement planning

    Hi All,
    I am facing an unusal scenario.
    User is claming that PR is getting generated for a material after running the MRP, even there is enough stock.
    I checked material &  I found that MRP type is ND, there is no entry in the planning file for this material.MRP list & stock requirement list of this material is showing nothing. So there is no way that PR will be created automatically via MRP run for this material.
    When I checked one PR for this material, Plant & storage location, creation indicator is showing as B Material Requirement planning.
    Could you please help me that why creation indicator is showing as B>
    I further checked these PRs are created long back when MRP type was V1. Later they changed it to ND.
    How to delete MRP generated PR manually when PO has been created for these PR.

    As you said; the PR was created long ago by MRP, when it was not ND.
    If it was already converted into a PO, there's no need to delete it, right? If not, just delete it manually.
    In the future, when you change MRP type from a valid type to ND, always remember to do 2 additional things, as the system will not do them automatically:
    1- delete the MRP list
    2- delete any planning elements if they exist, like planned orders and MRP generated PRs.

    Material Requiremnts plan and master schedule (MRP) answers two quisitions:
    1. How mauch you need to supply (Make/Buy).
    2. How much resource Hours needed to produce.
    MRP is an unconstrained, and infinite planning engine. this means, if you have a demand (Sales order/Forecast), the planning engine recommend actions to be done based on demand due date only regardless of capacity or material availability, and it gives you exception messages to take action; as a planner; regarding anything that may violate satisfying the demand in that due dates.

  • Datasource 2LIS_03_S194 (Material Requirement Planning)

    Hello SDN:
    I need to extract data from the datasource 2LIS_03_S194 (Material Requirement Planning) relevant to me. I know this datasource is LIS and to fill it, I need to run a program RMCBMRP2 to fill set up tables, and this doesnot support Delta update.
    I have one doubt, that for future MRP data Loads will I have to execute this Program every time and do full loads..? OR can I schedule a job to do.? If so, how to schedule a job.?
    Please share your experiences with me.

    Hi Kalyana- I am also using this same datasource and not sure when to run the program RMCBMRP2 in ECC and what parameters (regarding period/dates) to provide in SE38 while running it. If you have found more info on this can you share with me please?

  • Preventive Maintenance Plan Material requirement forecast

    Is there any way I get to know what whether the materials included in Tasklist of maintenance plan are  available or not , Just like forecasting or material requirement planning.

    I dont think this is possible. You may have to extend the standard simulation program for scheduling to include the Components. You will also have to call the material availability check FM to analyse the demand for the required date.
    Even then there is no guarantee for material availability when the Order is actually called.

  • Completion requirement tick in maint plan

    requirement: when maint.pan is scheduled by ip10 then if in maint.plan header the completetion requirement tick is made.then irrespecive of that tick ip10 should generate orders but if earlier order is delayed by "x" days then next order should shift accordingly by "x" days
    pls guide how to map the scenario

    Hello,
    You have to remove completion required check box as it prevents the generation of work order until unless last work order have status TECO.I will  suggest to use the FIXED call option in IP10 to delay the call as per your requirement if you dont want
    to remove the check box for completion required.

    If budget is prepared by respective department on basis of material required in the next year. Then how in sap we will able to track in sap.
    Budget can be plan on fund center and commitment item, when client make budget on basis of material and services required then how commitments will be created

    Hi,
    FM budget objects are indeed fund centres, funds, commitment items, etc. If your client prepares the budget on different level, it has to be mapped to FM objects either inside SAP (via FMDEIRVE startegy) or outside SAP.

    Dear Sudhir,
    Generally the sheet metals or raw materials which are to be represented in different sized section using one material code will
    be represented as a variable size item R as the itel category while maintaining the BOM for X,Y,Z.
    When creating the BOM of X,Y,Z include this sheet metal with item category as R and quantity as 1 ea or 2 ea as required.
    For this formula's will be maintained.

    This is not possible on the standard system. The highest planning level on MRP is the plant.
    It has been discussed on the following thread, where BAdI MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA was proposed as a solution, however, the logic to be implemented on this BAdI is very complex:

    Another alternative is to use flexible planning to plant at company code level, then disaggregate the planning to the plants and transfer the result to demand management and MRP.

  • Service Order Material Requirement

    Dear SAP consultants
    Need to check with you guys on this matter.
    I have a service order with list of components. I would like to do an advance shipment and create a quotation from it. Problem is , once the quotation is created the material requirement tab in the service order changes from Immediately to never and the whole line item is greyed out in the service order.
    Is there a way, I can create the quotation without transfering the material requirement to the quotation and allow the service order to still be open ? How can I do this with only 1 quotation type .... the others should work as usual ...
    Any thoughts or suggestions .. please feel free to let me know ..

    I have checked for stock & non stock item, but this calculation is not working for work orders. only i can change the date with offset. i checked material master record and change the GR processing time and planned delivery time but its not working. Do you have any idea why its not working?

  • Forecasting future sales orders all material requirement.

    Hi All
    I have a requirement in our company :
    The Material is Having Strategy Group as 20 for our product ( Make to Order Scenario)
    The requirement is such that the sales team get some forecast sale orders from the customers which are intimated to Production team manually to keep the analysis; but based on the forecast order details they are not executing anything; once the sale order is confirmed by the customer then then only the production teams will do the planning (MRP) and production execution.
    How can i send the forecast sale order details to production through system on for his analysis purpose.
    But we need to use strategy 20 for our business.
    Please tell  how to resolve our requirement.

    If i understood your business requirement, you want to see the sales order on MD04, but you don't want to plan it until the customer confirmation. Is that right?
    On the requirement class customizing (transaction OVZG) there is a setting called 'No MRP', where you can set the value '1 - Requirement not planned, but displayed'.
    Your sales order should be created with a requirement type assigned to this requirement class. Later, when the customer confirm the order, you should change the requirement type to the default used by strategy 20.

  • Material requirment from Projects

    Hi,
    I have one scenario where the material requirments will come from projects as materials (BOM) are assigned to project builder. After MRP run if there is material components available in free stock, it is n't getting adjusted against material requirments, rather creating new PR for the items. Request you to suggest on this.

    Dear Biplap,
    Any material required for a project and is assigned to a project is generally a special stock, "Q' type.  Basically SAP handles material required for project seperately, Sale order separtely, consignment seperately, vendor seperatly etc. 
    So when u run MRP for the first time related to that project, generally no material will be avl <b>under that project segment</b> and create Planned order / PR as the case may be eventhough there is unrestricted normal stock for that material. SAP MRP will only consider the materials or docs for netting only if it is related to that particular project/sale order.
    If you want to consider the unrestricted stock also then possibly u will have to write a Z program which will convert the normal unrestricted stock into project stock and again rerun MRP on that material to cancell the requirement generated thro the initial MRP run.

  • Grouping material requirements of Bottom level WBS

    We are stucked on material requirement planning
    We are assigning the various BOM to level 3 WBS and taking MRP on it  thru MD51.
    The final product which includes all BOMs at bottom level is assigned to level 2 WBS.But while running MRP on level 2 WBS system regenerates the requirements which already part of bottom level BOM. I want to avoid it.
    How shuld I achieve this ?

                                Strictly speaking the way MD51 is creating demand is correct, its working right. Now coming to your scenario, lets take an example which can assist understand your scenario.
    Step 1:
    I create following materials 
    1 FERT material
    1 HALB material
    1 RAW material
    Step 2:
    I create BOM     HALB --> RAW
                            FERT --> HALB
    Step 3:
    Create routing and assign work centre and activities
    Step 4:
                FERT is your final material.
    Step 5:
                Lets create a project "Projectest" with following structure or requirements
    Project test
    > WBS1  <Set the grouping indicator in WBS basic tab to one 1 Grouping WBS element for all materials>
                      --> IWBS < Individual WBS >
                             -->  Network
                                  --> Cost element
                                       --> FERT < Your final assembly >
                                               5 EA
    Step 6:
                   Run MD51 on Project with 1,3,3,1
                                   You will get replenishments created as below
                                         RAW --> 1 PR --> for procurement of 5 EA
                                         HALB --> 1 PO --> for production of 5 EA
                                         FERT  --> 1 PO --> for Production of 5 EA
    Only one PR,PO's are created since we have set the grouping indicator in Level one WBS there by reduce the number of repleninshment elements created.
    Step 7:
                  Get the RAW into stock (GR 101 Q --> Mvt type)
    Step 8:
                 Create the Production order with ref to Planned order for HALB
                 Issue the stock of RAW to HALB( 261 Q)
                 Confirm the production order
    Step 9:
                 Create the Production order with ref to Planned order for FERT
                 Issue the stock of HALB to FERT (261 Q)
                 Confirm the production order
    By this you will complete the entire cycle.
    In you scenario there is lot of duplications that can be avoided if you try implementing this scenario.
    I hope this example will help fix your issue.
