Dear Experts,
The material XXXX has the Round value so that while doing PO it is not allowing values like 12.22 so that the quantity should not be manditry as round values,it should have posiblity to change it in case it is necessary

Please look at the number of decimal places configured for the ordering unit in transaction CUNI. You can set decimal places as you want here.

Material Rounding Value in Manual Purchase Requisition

Hi Gurus,
Can I get complete explanation on Material Rounding Value which is maintained in Material Master MRP1 view?
When Automatic PR is created this value is taken into account for example I set the Rounding value to 20, if the automatic PR need 15 then it will be rounded to 20, but if I create manual PR, I type in the qty 5 then it will still be five but when converted to Purchase Order then the qty in Purchase Order is set to 20.
Can some one please give me some explanation?

Rounding value for direct procurement

Hi,
I an sourcing the same material from another plant within the same client. The materiale is some times purchased as a standard material using rounding value and going to stock. But, in some cases the material is procured as direct procurement. When purchasing for direct procurement will it then be possible not to use the rounding value but just order the exact quantity?

Hi Andres,
I think, you do not need to take any action on this requirement. SAP works the way you wanted, by standard. For example, you have a setup with a vendor (may be via info record or material master itself may have rounding qty etc)...not a problem. The parameters you use in material master will control for procurement process either triggered from planning (or production ) or manual purchases. When you create a SO# and if it triggers a purchase requisition, it sends exact quantity required only, into the preqs. By standard SAP config, the message about rounding rules is just warning. I don't think you will be stuck with this message when you try to convert the 3rd party Preq to PO. Even if there is a message, it must just warning.
Let me know with these inputs, if you test both types of PO#s, how it goes.

Rounding value for PR Quantity

Dear Expert,
Can we have rounding value for order quantity in Purchase Requisition? So we do not need to calculate the PO quantity based on the rounding value we have determined in material master / get the error message "Order quantity violates rounding rules while we creating the Purchase order.
And What is rounding profile? can we use this to set the rounding value for PR quantity?

i understand what you are trying to explain to me , can we do some changes / customizing from your statement, so that the manually created PR can have effect on rounding value, same as when we run the MRP.
Can you tell me What is rounding profile used for? can I used rounding profile to solve my customizing?

Rounding Values while creating purchase requisitions using ME51N

Hi MM Experts,
I have created some materials with a Rounding Value maintained in MRP1 View of the material master.
Whenever I raise a purchase order, the order quantity rounds off to the value maintained in the material master which is the correct functionality.
But when i try to create a purchase requisition using ME51N, the rounding functionality doesn't work.
Example: Rounding value (in MRP1 view) of a material is 25.
The order quantity entered is 4. But before saving the PURCHASE ORDER the order quantity will be changed to 25(which is the rounding value). This is the correct functionality but doesn't happen with the PURCHASE REQUISITION (ME51N)
Can someone guide me on how to make the rounding value work for purchase requisitions when using ME51N?

i did not find any customizing possibilities.
I solved it with BAdI ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST
Method PROCESS_ITEM.

Rounding value problem in planned order

Hi,
if we have demand for X material is 1.500 qty. & under this 2 material having usage probablity is 50-50% also single material having qty is 1 nos. But if i am taking run for X material having demand of 1.500 qty. then it will give rounding value as 1 qty not 0.75 qty for each material.
my problem is about rounding value. we are using strategy 40 & Lot Size is EX & Procurement type is E.
i also check in OMI4 for lot isze,pls reply me

For rounding value you need to check the below two fileds in Material Master MRP 1 view :
1. Rounding Profile
2. Rounding Value
If the rounding value is 1 then system will round off to 1 for any decimal requirement like 0.1,0.2,0.3...... etc.

Rounding value and Minimum lot size

Hi all,
Finish material is X and Raw material is Y.
Bom- For Preparing Xu2019s 1 Qty, 1 Qty of Y is required
In Material Master of Y - Rounding value and minimum lot size is 10,
Project needs 5Qty of X.
When MD51 for Project execute u2026 PR of Y must be of 10 as per rounding value and minimum lot size, but it is creating PR of 5 qty.
Above scenario working properly if I take MRP run with MD02 for material X for 10qty, after MRP PR of Y will be created for 10qty.

Dear,
By default, the lot size works as lot-for-lot quantity in the make-to-order and project scenario.
Go to OMI4 select your Lot size and define Lot Size: SOP 1 or 2Lot-for-lot with rounding. Better create new Lot size as ZX with these setting.
If you always want lots to be created for the multiple of the rounding value, you must specify a minimum a multiple of the rounding value.
Example: minimum lot size: 10 and rounding 10.

Please follow below steps to acheive your requirement.
Step 1 : Excute T code MM17.
Step 2 : Select Table MARC.
Step 3 : Excute.
Step 4 : Import your text file, using icon which is material field.
Step 5 : Give plant.
Step 6 : Excute.
Step 7 : Select your field (BSTRF)
Step 8 : Transfer(BSTRF) to selection criteria.
Step 9 : SAVE.
Please prepare your excel file like , Material (Matnr ) and rounding value (BSTRF).

Rounding Value in Safety stock

Can anybody tell me about rounding value in Safety stock calculation.
e.g. If safety stock is 1.710 then system should round it up to 2.0. what are the settings/customization requried to do so.

The requirement is...When safety stock is calculated then in material master MRP2 view it should round off the value automatically.
e.g.
Safety Stock = Factor R* sq root (RLT/7 * MAD) where RLT = 7/6*(Pur Processing time + GR processing Time) + Planned delivery time.
So the value of safetystock comes in decimal/fraction and the requirement is it should round off to next level.
if value = 1.710 then system/logic should round off to 2.0.
MRP type = VZ

Min Lot Size and Rounding value

need a small help!
I m a bit confused regarding the use of Min lot size and Rounding value in material master "MRP 1" view..
can some body teach me a detailed functionlity for both..
As both serve the purpose ..for e.g. my requirement is 7 and min lot is 10 system will create proc.proposal for 10
in similar way if i use rounding value as 10 , then als system will create proc.proposal for 10 only even if requirement is 7.
grateful if you could pl expain me the functionality of both...
another query..if I use Min lot size in material master will the same will serve the puspose of <b>min order qty ( maintained in PIRs)</b>

Displaying blank value for the Rounding Value field in MM03 transaction

Hello All,
We are using BDC to create a material master record.Some users are not loading the rouding value in the MRP1 screen. The rounding value is stored in the MARC table which has the data type as QUAN. Thus when there is no value being passed it implicitly converts the blank value to 0.00. The users do not want the rounding value to be displayed as 0 when they view the material record using mm03. Kindly let me know if there is any way to display the rounding value as blank if no value is present.

Rounding value for abetment

Dear Expert
We want to map the rounding value for abetment per unit of material , presently we have created a condition type zmrp which represent market price value and abetment is calculated on the basis of ZMRP which 65%of ZMRP . e.g
for a x material 17.50 ZMRP
Abetment condition type value is 65% of ZMRP =11.375 we want here system should round up the value 11.38 and calculate the value accordingly but what system is doing presently is that it round up the condition value as whole not for indivual unit . WE want round up before multiplying the qunaity of productsnot after.i.e unit value system should round up

Hi,
Create a new Alternate calculation base value routine using VOFM. This routine should calculate the base value for the condition type as round to commercial value for the unit price. Assign this routine to your condition type in V/08 customization in alt. calculation base value field. This way SAP will first calculate unit rounded price and then will multiply that price to the order quantity to calculate final price as you desired. Let me know if you need a more help on the same.

We have a custom program that creates PO using sap standard BAPI BAPI_PO_CREATE. The problem we are experiencing is that we would like to pass our own PO Item Quantity but because rounding values are maintained in the material master data the master data value is created on the PO.
How do I override the rounding value from the material master with a different value.

Rounding value

Hi,
For a material there are two rounding values (no rounding profile is maintained ) One at plant level and one at a
MRP area level .
While MRP run system is taking into account MRP area kevel rounding value ,and create a PR as MRP is run at MRP area level
but at the time of converting PR to PO system is considering rouding value which is maintained at plant level.(thru MD04)
e.g
rounding val at plant level -8
MRP area level rounding val -13
requirement -108 -triggered through mrp
PR generated of qty-117 -(multple of 13)
But while generation of PR to PO system shows requirement of qty 120 in PO
Where we can say that this is rounded in multiple of 8 i.e rounding val at plant level
Now my question is that is there any setiing in cstomization or is there any rule as to when the roudning val oa plant level will supertsede at MRP level ?

How to change PR Qty before rounding value is applied during MRP run?

Hi, SAP gurus~
I have an inquiry about how to change the PR qty of specific raw material before rounding value was applied during MPR run.
Here is a simple example for what I needed.
-SAP Original Logic
1. Original requirement Qty: 190
2. Rounding value at Material Master (MRP1 View): 200
     System will suggest PR Qty 200 at MD04.
-My Customer Requested Logic
1. Original requirement Qty: 190
2. Additional buffer Qty for C/S purpose: 10 % of Original requirement.
3. Rounding value at Material Master (MRP1 View): 2000020
     Requirement Qty would be 209 (190 + (190 x 10%) ) before rounding value is applied and system should suggest PR Qty 400 at MD04.
-     I input assembly/component scrap rates (10 %) at Material master for above purpose, but it doesn`t not work for raw material.
-     I tested the BADI (MD_PURREQ_CHANGE/ method: CHANGE_BEFORE_SAVE_MRP), but I can only change the PR Qty, which rounding value already applied.
How can I change the PR qty during MRP run before rounding value is applied? Is there any other method or User-exit possible to solve above problem?

Simple way is goto MD04 with your material and plant code -Select the PR-Hit the pencil (change mode ) -Choose qty field and change , SAVE at individual level .Or Use : MEMASSRQ - Mass Maintenance
If you want to use User Exit , then you try a work around :
M06B0001 Role determination for purchase requisition release
M06B0002 Changes to comm. structure for purchase requisition release
