Material Sale as a spare part

Hi,
We are buying materials as bought out items, assembling them and selling the assembly as a machine. Now we have stock of one of bought out item and the customer wants to purchase it from us as spare for already sold machine by us. Say the bought out item B has material type BOUG and we want to sale it using new material code F with material type FERT. How we can transfer the stock of B to F? So that we can sale the F to customer as spare part.
With Best Regards,
Rajkumar

Hi,
Material to material transfer is performed to maintain the stock of the material. This type of stock transfer can only be carried out in Inventory  Management.
Material-material transfer postings, which you can post with movement type 309.
A material-material transfer posting generates two lines in inventory management: one for the issuing material and one for the receiving material. The system can link the two stock postings due to the specified reference material in the receiving product and the identical material document number.
Use transaction code Mb1b with movement type "309"

  • Decimal conversion of Sales Tax in 'SPARE PARTS SALE INVOICE' ( smart form)

    Hello,
I am displaying a the value of the Sales Taxc in 'SPARE PARTS SALE INVOICE'. (in Smart Form)
The field(which holds the Sales Tax value is 'KWERT' -LBBIL_INVOICE-IT_KOND ), with datatype 'CURR', reference table 'KOMK' and reference field 'WAERK'.
In my smart form,i have declared a variable 'SALES_VALUE' of datatype 'KWERT' and reference field 'IT_PRICE-WAERK' (LBBIL_INVOICE-IT_PRICE), where 'WAERK' is the SD document currency.
Now when i display the field 'SALES_VALUE' i get 735.00 , whereas the original value in the field is 73.5
how to correct this and where am i wrong ?
Thankyou for yur time and really appreciate the help.

You are using currency fields that reference a currency code. Most currencies in SAP have two decimal places. Dividing by 100 will work in most cases. Ideally you should get the CURRDEC value in table TCURX for the currency you are working with... then divide by 10 that number of times.
    example-
USD, 2 decimals, divide by 10 twice.
There is a function module that will do this for you. Can't think of the name...???

  • Spare parts and Equipment [ External service]

    Experts,
Would like to check the process to handle the external service for equipment [w/o material master] and for spare parts.
Scenario is that these equipments / spare parts are send out for service outside country and then come back after servicing.

    HI
The closest process that suits your requirement is sub contractor process in SAP or else you might need your ABAP team for creation of new transaction for the process
well the sub contractor process involves creating a PO with Item cat L and entering the required materials and issuing the goods to subcontractor for service, later u receive it through MIGO and Then MIRO

  • Need field and table for spare part material and price for a given material

    Hi,
In need to create a report with following fields:-
Customer           Material          spare part material            spare part description             price                   currency.
From which table and field I can get all this information. Please guide me.
Hint.  cl30n transaction for material managemant.
             vk13 transaction for price maintenace.
    Regards.

CL30N is a general transaction that can be used for any classification, but material master maintenance is usually MM01/MM02 or MM41/MM42
Material description can be taken from table MAKT
    customer from table KNA1
The question is what you are going to analyse? where do material and customer tie together? do you do the analysis on sales orders VBAK and VBAP ? or invoices  VBRK and VBRP? or customer material info record KNMT?
or do you capture this info in classification? then you get the values from AUSP

  • Advice to create a material type (Semi finished, finished or spare parts)

    Hello all!
I am facing a big problem to how to create a material type ?
In my case, this material (engine) is finished good in one plant (let's say 100) and in the same time it's considered as Semi finished good in another plant (200 for example) and we can also sell it as spare parts (plant 200).
So, i don't know if i will created as finished good or semi finished or spare parts in MM01 transaction? What do you think?

    Lamine,
Creating an material with type as Semifinsihed and Extending sales view to the article will solve your problem.. Also according to your scenario, i hope you are using SPK for transfer of SEMI FInished Goods from  Plant 100 to Plant 200. If this is there in the MRP view. you will not have any problem in this scenario. You can directly sale from Plant 100 and During MRP run for Plant 200 the material will be used in Plant 200 as Semifinished. Also as Sales view is extended in Plant 200 you can also sell it as Spare parts.

Now how could i get back the material to unrestricted. I tried with 554, but in this, all the compoents of the BOM are being issued thru 261.
But thats not the requirement, i just want to reverse the header material to unrestricted.

Can you we split the Spare parts material type
Spare Parts A ( bearing, bushing nuts)
    Spare Parts B(Electrical electronic )
will it possible in Material master . pl

    Hi
its depend on your client what they want
If you want separate material type for mechanical equipment and electrical equipment then you can define two material type
or as suggest earlier you can categories by material group while creating material master

  • Unable to view Spare Part Components in SAP CRM Service Order

    Hello All,
We are implementing CRM 7.0 Ehp 2.0
As per the following video it is now possible to integrate the spare part components in the CRM Service Order, using the BOM replication and Product Proposal functionality in SAP CRM
SAP CRM 7.0 - Integration of ERP BOM Information in the CRM Product Proposal
However in our case we are not able to achieve the desired results.
    Following configurations are done
    1) The BOM is replicated from ECC to CRM the same can be viewed in commpr01
Material 4561 is the main product and 4562 is the component
    2) The item category for the main product is YRVS where the customization for structure scope is done
    3) For the Product Proposal customization's, I have created a new method schema
    4) The transaction type and the sales org are assigned to the method schema
    5) However now when I am creating the service order, I enter the sold to party, the product id
    6) Next  I go to the line item to click on product proposal.
    7) The system issues the below message
Please advice if I am missing on any configurations.
    Kind Regards
    Atul

    Hi Raghavendra,
Thanks for your reply, appreciate the same, I have now added the relationship objects as per your post above in comm_hierarchy for the particular category
Now  in the product master , I am now able to view the tabs(screen shot attached)
Next I create my BOM in ECC with BOM Usage 5 and save the same
Next I run the initial download for the adaptor object  BOM in SAP CRM
When I check in commpr01 for the material 4561 the component and the main material have not come.
    Can you please advice further.

  • CRM Service - ECC Logisitcs Integration (Spare Parts in a Service Order)

    Hi Experts,
We have been trying to configure a scenario for CRM Service Orders with SAP ECC logistics integration in CRM 7.0 EHP1.
We are aware of the standard configuration wherein we assign one logistics scenario ( Purchase Requisition or Purchase Order or Reservation) for a specific service organization & Item Category for spare parts in service order.
Our first query : Is it standard that the spare part will be automatically reserved if it is in stock (after ECC availability check from service order) and purchase requisition or purchase order is created only if it is not in stock?
We also understand that while a reservation happens during Service order creation, the goods issue or material withdrawal happens only on service confirmation. If this the case, how will the physical delivery happen to customer? This is our second query.
Please note that we are raising this query only for spare part items in service order and not for sales item in service order.
It would be great if you could help us with this issue.
    Responses will be suitably rewarded.
    Thanks,
    Prish

    Hi Pritesh,
Thank you for your prompt reply and help, appreciate the same, we would be going for the scenario where the service order in sap crm has saleable parts, the service order would get replicated to ecc as a sales order and the costs would get booked when the post goods issue is performed after creating the delivery in SAP ECC.
    Following are the configurations done
    1) Service Order type ZRVW is created in SAP CRM
    2) The same service order ZRVW is mapped in SAP ECC
    3) The service order in SAP CRM has the following number range and the same is kept internal
    4) The same number range is marked as external in SAP ECC in vn01 tcode
    5) The number range is assigned to the document type ZRVW in SAP ECC
    6) Item category determinations are done in SAP CRM, standard SRVS(Sales items are copied to YRVS)
    7) The same item category determination is also set in SAP ECC for Item category group NORM
    8) Item category determination is also set for ERLA as item category group in ECC
    9) The item category YRVS is set to delivery relevant in SAP ECC
    10) The standard schedule line is determined which is CP is relevant for delivery
    11) The sales area is also assigned to the document type ZRVW.
    12) In SAP CRM, the status profile YCONT is assigned, having the business transaction to be distributed, the status of the same is set to allowed for completed status
    13) The status profile has been assigned to the transaction type ZRVW
    14) Pricing configurations are also done in sap crm and sap ecc
    15) Now I am creating the service order ZRVW in SAP CRM, having saleable parts, customer's and material's exist in both systems having the same sales area, the status is set to completed at item and header level
    16) The system is throwing an error when I click on edit
    17) When checked In sap ecc the system says that the document does not exist
18 I did open the error in SAP CRM and it says that there are some settings required for billing
Since there is no billing relevance to this scenario in the item category the billing relevance is set to no billing
    Please advice further
    Kind Regards

  • MRP design for Service Spare Parts

    Hello,
I am in process of designing the MRP run for service spare parts for construction and mining equipments business. There is a central warehouse and small depots.
Help me out to design following MRP requirements.
    1.     MRP process is expected to consider stocks at all these locations i.e central ware house and depots. Optimization across locations and stock transfers to be considered.
    2.     MRP process is expected to consider open PO requirements.
    3.     MRP process is expected to consider in-house service orders reservations requirements.
    4.     MRP process is expected to consider open sales spare parts order demand from dealers.
    5.     Certain formula base forecast requirements for specific spare part
If SAP standard solution is there or any work around is expected.
    Regards
    Sanjeev Dhavan

    1. MRP process is expected to consider stocks at all these locations i.e central ware house and depots. Optimization across locations and stock transfers to be considered.
    - MRP can be run for a whole plant or single material or MRP area(group together some storage location). I hope your warehouse is a plant so you can run the MRP at your plant(ware house) level.
    2. MRP process is expected to consider open PO requirements.
    - You should use consumption based planning but you need to identify what type of MRP you want to use.
        - reorder point planning     - forecast based planning      - time phased planning
        - in general all the above MRP will consider the open PO / PRs
    3. MRP process is expected to consider in-house service orders reservations requirements.
    -  this is possible by selecting proper MRP type, for ex. if you want to use reorder point planning, then you should use V1(Reorder point planning with external requirements) which includes sales order and manual reservation in net req calculation.
    4. MRP process is expected to consider open sales spare parts order demand from dealers.
    - Refer point 3
    5. Certain formula base forecast requirements for specific spare part
    - do you want to use forecast based MRP? what formula you want to use?

  • Mapping Spare part kit planning in SAP

    Hi,
We have below requirement in Spare part Kitting process
    1)
Client  makes compressors, which obviously have a lot of components, where one of the prime part is valve.
    2)
Valve Kit is a finished product having components which are used in regular unit production also, where MRP Type can be VV or PD.
    3)
This valve kit sold as a spare part.Customers buy these kits and typical assembly time is 1 day.
    4)
This kit is not kept in stock and is assembled after receiving an order.
    5)
To be ready for customer orders, client forecasts these kits (about 10000) and drives the demand for lower level components.
    6)
When customer places an order, legacy system promises the dates based on availability of components. Date is promised to the customer based on the availability of the components. Also the requirement is passed on to the floor to assemble and shipped the same day.
    7)
To meet above requirement, we proposed to use Forecast based planning, where system will create planned order for Kit assembly & component can be planned.Knowing there is a back drop i.e. planned order created thru forecast can be converted into production order.
    8)
Then demonstrated “ATO – Assemble to Order” functionality in SAP. This uses strategy group 81 for the kit material XX-XXXX-XX. When a sales order is created for a material with strategy group 81, system immediately creates a planned order and as per component availability, proposes the next available date of the assembly.
    9)
Since ATO is an MTO process, Planned order is tied to Sales Order and when production order goods receipt is done, stock is received into Sales Order stock. Hence Sales Orders do not consume the forecast.
    10)
Question here is how to consume the forecast? When sales order is shipped system is not updating consumption data? This is important as today they use the consumption values to execute the forecast.
If any one has come across similar requirement, please give other options keeping below points in view
    1. We should be able to plan valve kits may be thru forecasting or PIR's. This to start procuring components.
    2. When sales order is created, system should do availability check at component level.
    3. Consumption data should be updated if we use forecasting to plan kit or if we use PIR's, sales order should consume the demand. Consumption of forecasting requirement is also required.
    Thanks in advance.
    Hari

    Hi ,
Looks like problem is due to
    - Need to do ATP at componnent level  which is only possible with Planning  strategy 81,82. You cannot use planning strategy 40( 40 considers forecast , sales order & consumption)
    - 81 ,82 planning strategy doesn't consume forecast for End item(Sales order entry material)
You could use Sales order BOM function. It is provided for selling Kits. BOM is exploded in sales order & kit items are put as seperate sales order items ( 20... 30... 40 ) Here are steps.
    -  Create BOM with usage 5- Sales order relevancy of bom components is Ticked
    - Create Sales order with item which is BOM header. System will explode BOM & all items will be part of sales order as item.
    - You can configure Sale Price at End FG level, Inventory management( DO issue) at item /components level .
    - Forecast will be consumed at end item level.Need configuration
    - ATP check can be performed at componenet level
Only thing is you will not have Plan order for doing assembly & there is no cost captured for assembly . Kitting donot involve much labor time.
    Hope it helps

  • Forecasting the need of spare parts in Demantra

    Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate if anyone who's had dealt with the following issue help us,
The thing is - we want to forecast 3 different kind of items:
    1. Main items we sell - for examples - machines.
    2. Accessories for machines we sell. A certian accessory can be used with several type of machines. (Cables, Batteries etc.)
    3. Spare parts we need to keep in stock in order to provide repair services for our customers.
Each machine we sell has a different set of spare parts used when repairing.
The forecast for machines is a typical demantra model forecast.(sales forecast by the book).
My question is regarding the forecast for the spare parts we need for repairs.
We know that demand for a certain spare part is influenced by how many machines which use that part were sold to customers.
Also - it depends how common is the use of that part when fixing those machines that need service.
(some parts get broken more frequently etc).
Also since we provide fixed price insurance for customers, they dont "see" spare parts price as a factor.
(they dont naturally "buy" the parts).
How can demantra tie the forecast for the spare part to sales history of machines? Can demantra forecast service ?(which behaves alot different than sales). It is obvious that forecasting demand for spare parts with looking only at each part's history will not provide best forecast results.
    Any insights anyone?
I'm pretty sure most implementations faced that issue - regarding the forecast of parts for service -
    Would appreciate any reply,
    Thanks alot,
    Aaron.
    Edited by: user10894682 on 07:30 05/02/2009

    Hi Aaron,
Per my understanding, you sell machines as well as their accessories. So forecasting for them is by the book where you would be using the demand for machine as well as for accessories..
As far as the service parts' forecasting is concerned, Oracle has a seperate module for Service & Spare parts planning based on Demantra's forecasting engine.
Spare Parts Planning(SPP) has the following features:
    1. Forecast accurately with built in Demantra's Forecasting engine
    2. Replenish spares based on Single plan model
    3. Distribute spares using SPP's plan
    4. One single UI to carry out all 3 above processes for improved productivity
    5. Forecasting based on Shipments, Spares Usage, and Returns
    6. Plan based on Service parts failure rates calculations
    7. Integrated with various APS modules like Demantra DM, CP, IO, and ASCP.
From demantra's perspective you may try out the following:
Since you provide fixed price insurance for customers, you would definitely be keeping track of the service provided like what spare was replaced and probably how many of the same spare have been replaced for a particular customer over a period of time. Also as per the insurance you must have specified that a particular spare would be replaced only x number of times within a span of say 6 months or 12 months.
You may utilize these information to classify the spares based on the frequency of use viz. very frequent, medium frequent and less frequent and associate some factor to it.You can club this information as well as the spare parts demand coming out of the BOM (bill of material) of the machine along with each part's history and come up with a forecast that can be more relied upon.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Shekhar

  • Repair request spare parts costs transfer to COPA

I have system configured that when I have repair request and I need to deliver a spare parts the cost of this are issued and booked with Outbound delivery document to FI. There is no costs on a repair request order.
I wonder if it is any way to book the cost of mentioned spare parts cost to COPA as well?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rafal

    Hello
    Process is like below:
    1. Creating a repair request (VA01) for broken warranty item
    2. Delivery is done for the item with Post Goods Issue.
Above steps create only material document with no FI document.
    3. In change order (VA02) for just created repair request in Repair TAB repairs and replacement Business decision is done.
    4. Deliver is done. In deliver there are two materials and after having the Post Goods Issue, system create material document and FI document (warehouse -> cost of sales)
This is all the steps, no invoice is done issued for this process.
    Thanks for interesting,

  • What is best practice for dealing with Engineering Spare Parts?

    Hello All,
I am after some advice regarding the process for handling engineering spare parts in PM. (We run ECC 5)
Our current process is as follows:
All materials are set up as HIBE's
    Each material is batch managed
The Batch field is used for the Bin location
We are now looking to role out PM to a site that has in excess of 50,000 spare parts and want to make sure we use best practice for handling the spare parts. We are now considering using a basic WM setup to handle the movement of parts.
Please can you provide me with some feedback on what you feel the best practice is for dealing with these parts?
We are looking to set up a solution that will us to generate pick lists etc and implment a scanning solution to move parts in and out of stores.
    Regards
    Chris

    Hi,
I hope all the 50000 spare parts are maintained as stock items.
    1. Based on the usage of those spare parts, try to define safety stock & define MRP as "Reorder Point Planning". By this, you can avoid petty cash purchase.
    2. By keeping the spare parts (atleast critical components) in stock, Planned Maintenance as well as unplanned maintenance will not get delayed.
    3. By doing GI based on reservation, qty can be tracked against the order & equipment.
As this question is MM & WM related, they can give better clarity on this.
    Regards,
    Maheswaran.
