Material with batch is stuck in storage bin.

Dear Gurus,
I have a scenario here.
previously material A has turn on the batch management. later then, it is turn off without checking properly. Now in the system, material A is stuck in a few bins with batch. Our master data user do not allow us to turn on and off the batch because it will affect other plant.
Has anyone encounter such issue before?
I need help badly.

You cannot turn off batch managment "without checking properly". You could just turn off BM, if batches already exist, with an own created ABAP. And this alone is causing your troubles.
Best, you take a weekend where nobody in the plants are working, then you use the same uncomplient ABAP to switch BM on again, goods issue your batches, run archiving, for the batch records and switch off BM using the regular way.

Material with different concentration in one storage location

We are working in a chemical industry that make caustic soda they are selling two material of caustic soda with two different concentrations (33% and 50%). Problem is that they move caustic 33% (one material) in to one storage location at the same time the move caustic 50%(second material) in the same material tank. In this way the concentrations of caustic change say 45%. If they want to increase the concentration they move caustics with greater concentration to make this stock to 50%. How to handle this situation. Every time the move these two materials in a same tank materials concentration changes.

1. Is your material batch managed? If yes would you have multiple batches in the storage location?
2. How is the material transferred to the tank? Is it through manual 311 movement?

Warning message at the time of GR for a material with Batch Management

Dear All,
 I am new to MM,
 We are using batch at plant level. For some materials user dont want maintain
 Batch classification in Material Master. At the time of Goods Receipt posting with ref-to PO user getting warning message like For batch 0000000139 of material 212030602400000 4F10, no class could. I check system messages setting transaction code OCHS for batch management, but I didnt found this type of message in the list.
Plzz can any one help me where I need to change system settings?

Packing Material with Batch Management and Shelf life expiration date check

Dear All,
          I created a packing material and activated batch managemnt with shelf life.
            At the time of GR the batch should be created automatically or if i want to create a batch manually for some materials how to do it in the system.
                     Help me

Before going ahead with the batch creation,
you need to activate the batch mngmnt level (i.e.Client,plant,material level)
And also activate the Nor.ranges.
Then Create the Classification,Characteristics and assign the Chrctstics to Class.
Then create the batch
T Code:
CT04 create Char.
CL02-Create Class
CL24N:Assign class to material
MSC1N:Create Batch

How to create a batch for a material, with batch characteristic input?

I am currently using BAPI_BATCH_CREATE to create batch for materials in my program. However, I find no way to input the batch characteristics. Is there any existing function module responsible for that? Thanks!

Hi,
You can use FMs 'CLVF_INSERT_AUSP' or 'CLVF_INSERT_AUSP' to insert or update characteristics for materials.
In the structure INS_AUSP or UPD_AUSP -
OBJEK corresponds to the material number,
ATINN is the characteristic name,
KLART is the class type which is '001' for materials, and
ATWRT is the characteristic value.
Populate values into the above fields for the batch of materials and call this FM.

I am developing a PP report for which i require the available material (un restricted stock) details and their batch details which are being displayed in MMBE (tcode). Withdrawl of material(with batch) for scrapping that shelflife passd

Dear Guruz,
in have an issue in withdrawl for scrapping with mvt type 551. But my materials are maintained in batches and the shelf life has expired. The materials are also damaged so i want to scrap them but there exist stock for those materials. how can in do it.?

Dont you have a message number ? double click the message to see the message number. It sounds like a z-message, which means it is home made, triggered from a user exit.
Best you try it manually in MIGO, before you test it with a program

IQ09 - Different process for material with bacth Split and no Batch

Hello,
i want to know if IQ09 treats material with batch number and no batch in the same way for fetching the serial number.
view V_EQUI_EQBS_SML is used to fetch the serial numbers.
i just need to confirm if the process is same in case a material has batch & no Batch together.

Hi,
We faced the same problem and went back to option:
Cont.Ins Lot creation (QMAT-CHG) = "For each Material Document item
This solves the problem and was in our case the solution for receipts from production. But at goods receipt for purchase orders we still use the option for each material document, batch and SL.
There we pick up the materials in WM by hand by scanning the bar codes on the pallets (printed at GR). The transfer order creates a negative quant in unrestricted use that is later filled by the automatic usage decision that moves the stock from quality to unrestricted in the same bin.

Material appearing in the another Storage Bin

Hi,
I have maintanined storage bin in material master (view:warehouse managment2) as "OPEN" for my material 78.59.32.1551.
After doing 105(MIGO),for my material 78.59.32.1551,when I checked stock by using tcode LS24,the material is showing in the another storage bin:04-DR-01 instead of "OPEN".
It should appear in the "OPEN". Am I right? If no ,please correct me .

Uncheck negative stock for the storage type you are picking from. IMG - LE- WM-Master Data-Define Stg Type uncheck 'Allow Negative Stock'.

Blocking Storage Bin

Hi experts,
I have question about following situation.
I storage goods in more than one storage bin. My storage strategy find storage bin automaticly. If the first storage bin full, strategy find second storage bin. I want that, system block the first storage bin automaticly till the first storage bin will be empty. System doesnt allow add new goods that quant.
how can i do that?

I explain what i need with example;
I have 2 storage bin for my material. All this bin's capacity is 5 pcs. Now first good issue with PO about 5 pcs. this material putaway first bin. then other good issue 3 pcs. This material putaway 2nd bin. Then i remove material 3 pcs in 1st bin. As a result, i have 2 pcs material 1st bin and 3 pcs material seceond bin. My capacity is 3 pcs 1st bin and 2pcs 2nd bin.
Now, if there is good issue same material, system doesn't allow putaway this materials to 1st bin. System block this 1st bin automaticlly. This block is automatically deleted after the last storage unit has been removed from stock (picked from the row).
By the way, am i need batch management to implement this strategy for this material?

Cancel (reverse) Return Order, PGR not possible due to storage bin in 904

Hi gurus hope someone can explain in detail with transaction what am I missing since I'm MM guy and dont know very well SD transactions but here's my scenario,
There is a return order with a delivery (1110500002), then PGI (651), this drive me to process a Tansfer Req to move it from 904 to 010 storage type, and then do the billing, up to here the process is going well.
The problem comes when trying to reverse the above described process, I start with reverse the bill sith VF11 and then try to cancel the PGI ( PGR) with VL09 but system says "Storage bin 001 904 1110500002 does not exist (Check your entry)"
This is why I'm trying to fix the issue as MM guy, but I don't know why the error comes, this bins in 904 should be dynamic and create temporaly the bin 1110500002 which is the delivery that was created when the first return order was created.
I dont know if this error is related to MM movement types or to some config at the delivery type, o maybe the process we are following is not the correct for this because in transaction OMLR for IM 651 there is WM 651 but for 652 IM it's WM counter part is the general GI 255 mvt type so
Just to mention what I think that need to happen for the reverse of the return process is to cancel the bill then cancel the delivery and at this point negative stock should come into 904 bin 1110500002 and the creation of a TR to move from 010 to 904 after doing this TO then stock in 904 will be zero.
Please advise on how this process should happen.

Thanks for your reply, but I didn't understand what you mean with compare material master, compare it with what? And also I am not really sure that this could be the problem because I have this issue only when reversing the return, this means when I do the return the stock actually goes to 904 1110500002 so this means that the material has mantained correctly WM views in the material master.
Can you elaborate more in detail how you solved your error few months ago?

A storage type generally contains several storage spaces or slots. These are called storage bins in Warehouse Management (WM). The storage bin is the smallest available unit of space in a warehouse. The storage bin therefore describes the position in the warehouse where the goods are or can be stored.
Since the address of a storage bin is frequently derived from a coordinate system, a storage bin is often referred to as a coordinate. The coordinate 01-02-03 for example, can refer to a storage bin in row 1, stack 2, and level 3.
You assign each storage bin to a specific warehouse number and storage type according to its location. You must also assign each storage bin to a storage section.
You can also define the following additional characteristics of a storage bin:
 --> Maximum weight
 --> Total capacity
 --> Fire containment section
 --> Storage bin type (for example, for small or large pallets)
With certain stock placement strategies, the storage bin type plays a significant role in optimizing the automatic search for a storage bin in connection with the pallet type. For example, you can define the WM putaway strategy to place large industrial pallets into a specific large bin type and smaller pallets into small bins.
For information on how to define storage bins, call up the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Warehouse Management and see under Master Data --> Storage Bins .
Generally speaking, you can use any combination of letters and numbers for a storage bin coordinate with the exception of certain alphanumeric characters that are used for stock placement strategy P (according to pallet or storage unit type).
When goods are placed into storage, the system selects coordinates in ascending order according to specific sort criteria, and assigns the next available storage bin based on the coordinate structure you define for creating bins.

Specifying storage bin for quality inspection.

Hello all,
I am wanting to move a material, that is stored in multiple storage bins in our warehouse, into an inspection lot.
I can create a 322 movement in MIGO however this doesn't specify storage bin location, it looks at the warehouse as a whole.
So can you please help me to specify the storage bin that I am wanting to create a manual inspection lot on.

you cannot do quality inspections of bins, you can only do quality inspection of material stock .
the quality inspection in QM module is carried out at inventory managment level.
an inspection lot is created with QA01.
This moves the stock into quality inspection.
Along with the MM posting, a WM posting change notice (PCN) is created to move quantity from unrestricted use to Q-status in WM too. you then process this PCN with LU04 transaction. Here you allocate the quants that are effected.
when the inspection is done, then a usage decision is made with QA11 transaction, which creates again a PCN in WM.
