Matlab 2007b main window focus

Hi,
I'm having an issue with focusing the main window in Matlab 2007b. The window focuses as expected if I click it to bring it into focus. However, if I use cmd-tab, Matlab comes to the forefront, including the main window, but the main window is not focused. I can click it to bring it into focus, but cmd-` doesn't work.
I don't recall this happening before I upgraded from 10.5 to 10.5.1. I also find it extremely strange that I cannot find any information about this on Google, Usenet, or Mathworks's website. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to fix this. I'm a heavy cmd-tab user, so this is a huge deal.

I forgot to check my Matlab installation before tossing my previous system folder after an "Archive and Install", so Matlab isnt working for me. Perhaps it could be something with the X11 environment taht's giving the windows the wrong focus? Native Aqua applications all seem to cmd-tab fine for me. When I open an xterm intance and cmd-tab between X11 and safari, when I go back to X11 it does bring the xterm window into focus, but it doesnt bring it to the front.

Javascript window.open in BSP: new window is opened behind the main window

Hello,
I use following code to open a new window in my BSP application:
 window.open("<%= controller->display_url%>").focus();
The new windows is openned up, but hide behind the main window, I need the new window to stay at the front, any idea?
On one computer running IE7, the new windows is opened and stay at the front. But not for all other computers running IE6.

Pop up window goes to the back of the main window in Swings on Solaris 10

I am using a Swing Application using Java 1.6 on Solaris 10 machine.
Whenever I click on the button which pops up another window, it always goes to the back of the main window.
Then I ll ve to minimize the main window to make the pop-up window get the focus.
I am using Exceed to open up Swing application.
But when the same application is run on Windows XP machine, the problem does not come up.
i.e. Pop-up window always get the focus and is visible above the main window.
Please help to figure out whether this is an issue with Solaris 10 machines or with java 1.6.

PreSet preveiw "Flip" with Main Window

Ok, yes I have a 21" monitor ... but I have bad eyes lol. (need to go 30")
So, there are times when mouseing thru a list of PreSets and looking at the small PreVeiw window, I would like to "Flip" the PreVeiw with the Main Window.
* That way when I mouse over the list of Presets I can view it on the Larger Window and have the Original (Current) Veiw in the Smaller Window.
(I know I can make the preview a little larger ... but it will never go larger than the main)
* When I am Mousing thru PreSets ... I want the changes to be in the Main (large).
*** IN FACT, I would love to see that choice in a "Preferance" choice!
That means whenever I Mouse over a PreSet the change immediatly goes to the MAIN window and the current/original goes to the small window as a referance. (this is by far the more elegant way of doing it)
*** PreSet's are becoming More and More important to me, and a time saver.
imho, the more you can work on the preset pane side, VS the develop pane side ... the more time you could Save (on large shoots)

But, really ... wouldn't it be "cool" (and faster and more intuitive) if you can choose (in Preferances): whenever you mouse over a Preset that the Changes appear in the Main window (and the small pre-veiw window has the original?
to me ... if you have your mouse over in the Pre-Set window, your main focus is "those" changes (at that point) ... and you should be looking at those Preveiws in the Main Larger window ... imho.

Navigation pane will not stay closed and covers main window

Using RoboHelp Version 7.0.3 to produce FlashHelp - ongoing project that I've been working on for quite some time.
Just noticed this:
I launched the Help from the application with an F1. I then closed the navigation pane in the Help output and resized the window to be tall, narrower, so I could view Help and the application window side-by-side. When changing focus between windows the SECOND time I bring focus back to the open Help window, the navigation pane reappears on its own. And it COVERS the left side of the main window, there is no horizontal scroll at the bottom, and you cannot close the navigation pane at this point. Instead, you must exit the Help and relaunch it from the application to return to a usable state, where the nav pane appears on the left and the Help topic appears on the right with appropriate scroll bars, etc.
I showed my developers this and we were able to recreate several times. Their guess is it's a problem in the javascript... Is there a fix for this? Sure looks like bug.

I'm running the latest iTunes on my Windows XP system, and it keeps restarting unless I do a force termination (in windows terminology, I have to end the process in the Task Manager).
This automatic restarting is so annoying that I end up killing the windows process, and it won't start again until i reboot the computer.
Oh, and this has been going on for well over a year, with other versions of iTunes. And I'm not sharing the contents assuming that sharing would try to force iTunes to stay open. So I removed the sharing of my iTunes library to no avail.
Apple can hardly expect to be the best choice for everyone if they don't have solutions to these obvious problems. Obvious because i've seen this complaint appear for the past 5 years, since 2007 and maybe earlier than that.
Don't they know how to end a program cleanly?

I have used Lr many years without problems. Now it is inpossible to edit . Can not see the editing in main window only in the small thumbnail. Suddenly it is not possible to import raw-files from my Linux camera ( it worked earlier)

Editing mode does not work. I can not follow de editing in the main window. I cah see it in the thumbnail.

From your description of the problem, I suspect that you have a standalone license but have downloaded and installed the CC update. Or, it's the other way around. In either case, you need to install the right version.

Page break for Smartform with multiple main window on pages

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement for printing 3 pages. The difference among the 3 pages is the main window part.
The main window contains not only internal table, also complicated texts like payment instructions etc.
The requirement is in each page, the data in internal table should be changed, also payment instruction should be changed accordingly.
e.g:
Main Window of Page 1
Part 1 for Internal table
VAT on ITEM ------- 4O-------60,00------0.00%-------EUR
Part 2 for Payment Instructions
Texts for Page 1
Main Window of Page 2
Part 1 for Internal table

At first, I was using only one page 'Page1' with a variable page_no = 1 as default value, and use program line page_no = page_no + 1 as counter. when page_no = 2, use command for force page break to 'Page1', then under the command, change the internal table and payment instruction texts. when page_no = 3, ...
But I encountered an error saying:
Runtime Errors GEN_BRANCHOFFSET_LIMIT_REACHED

So I created 3 pages, with different main window M_window1, M_window2, M_window3 for each page. In page1, after printing the M_window1, page_no = 2, use command to go to page2, but page2 is never printed. I think this is because only one main window can exist in a smartform? but why smartform allows creating individual main window for different pages? what's the use of such main window?
By the way, what's the use of command for force page break? only work for one main window in a smartform?
Getting back to my requirement, I think I should still use one page and command for page break. I am trying to solve this.

Now I am using 3 pages: Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.
Page 2, Page 3 are copies of Page 1 with main window renamed as second window: mw 2, mw 3.
I also created 2 command nodes in main window of page 1: cmd 2, cmd 3.
cmd 2 is for page break to Page 2, cmd 3 is for page break to Page 3.
The second window mw 2, mw 3 in Page 2, Page 3 can be displayed.
Even though, I still can't understand how main window of pages (not 1st page) can work.

Two main windows in smartform or two loops in one main window?

Hello All,
I have requirement in smartform where i want to print two diffrent data header and item data in the same page.
and in between these two data i want one template to be printed for item data .
Smartform is giving me error if i use two main windows
if i use two loop nodes in the main window thn how to restrict the data getting over flowed to template(item data)

As main window can only be one, so try it this way:
Under main window create a TEXT1 for header text( first header) than a LOOP1 for looping the header table, under that first create a TEXT2 for header data, than below it create another TEXT3 for header text ( Second header), than below it add a LOOP2 for looping item table and in that add a where condition than under it a TEXT4 for item data .
MAIN_WINDOW
    TEXT1                                     " first header
    LOOP1                                    " header table
        TEXT2                                 " header data
        TEXT3                                  " Second header
        LOOP2                                " item table with where condition
            TEXT4                             " item data

Main windows in page windows allow you to format text in multiple columns. Define an area in the page window, in which to position the main windows.
Here is the procedure !!
-->Create a page window and assign it to a page.
Choose Edit --> Main windows.
A dialog box appears.
-->Enter values in the fields Area width and Area height in accordance with the input guidelines for main windows.
-->Enter values in the fields Spacing and Number in the Horizontal group if you want to use multiple columns. You can ignore the fields in the Vertical group.
Determine how many columns and line areas are required for label printing. Then enter the corresponding values in the fields in the Horizontal and Vertical groups.
-->The value in the field Left margin varies from main window to main window if multiple columns are used. The following applies:

Left margin of current column + Window width + Horizontal spacing = Left margin of next column
In label printing, the field Upper margin also varies from main window to main window:

Upper margin of current main window + Window height + Vertical spacing = Upper margin of next main window
-->Enter a value in the field Start position.
This is a counter. Enter a starting value which is equal to or greater than 1.
-->The main windows are added to the list.
-->Save your form.

How to pop new window in running main window

i have to popup a sub windopw in main window....and i need to plot common data to be printed on front panal...

As KoenR has said - you can use SubVIs and set them to 'Show front panel when called' which will make them show as new windows in your application.
As for sharing the data, you could use something like a notifier (under synchronisation) for broadcasting the data to the SubVI. If you create the notifier in your main application, with a send notification VI and then pass the reference to the notifier into the SubVI when you call it which has a 'wait on notification' VI it will then receive the data form the main loop.
If you look in the LabVIEW examples under 'notifiers' you will find 'Pass Data with Notifiers' which demonstrates how to use notifiers to pass data to SubVIs.

Did you mean change the Lync: Change the Default Font and Color of Instant Messages just as Edwin said above?
If not, as I know, there is no natural way to change it.
If yes, on the latest version of Lync 2013 client, there is a new option “IM” on Lync client “Options” list. And you need to change the default Font and Color of IM in the interface of “IM”.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

How can I get the favorites from my favorites tool bar to open in the main window and not the sidebar?

I created a favorites toolbar. When I click on some of the icons, they open in the main window like I expect. Others open in a sidebar which I do not want and cannot even get to full size. How do I get all of them to open in the main window?

Generally, Bookmarks that open in the Sidebar are from links that you clicked on on web sites to add their Bookmark. To change that, right-click on the Bookmarks, opening in the Sidebar, choose "Properties" and un-check "Load this bookmark in the sidebar".

Problem with new firefox tabs and window focus

Here's a problem that I've had for ages - sometimes it annoys me, other times I can live with it. Right now it's really p***ing me off. :x
I have selected 'a new tab in the most recent window' under FF's Preferences->Tabs->Open links from other applications in:, so as an example, if I click on a URL in a mail in Thunderbird, Firefox opens it in a new tab. However, window focus stays on Thunderbird. I run both of them full screen, so although I'm looking at the web page in Firefox, anything I do on the keyboards affects Thunderbird. It affects URLs opened from other apps too e.g. if I open a terminal and do
firefox www.archlinux.org
focus stays on the terminal window. The only exception is when firefox is not already running - in that case, firefox launches with focus.
DE is xfce4, and the system is completely up to date.
I've done some googling, and AFAICS, nobody else seems to have this problem. Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks MAC!EK - definitely a useful add-on, but it still doesn't solve my problem. In Tab Mix Plus Options, I have the following selected:
Links -> Open links from other applications in: New tab
Events-> Tab Focus -> Focus/Select tabs that open from: <all>
However, the behaviour is as before i.e. I click a URL in Thunderbird, it opens in a new tab in Firefox, but window focus stays on Thunderbird. Within Firefox, the newly-opened tab is selected or focussed, but Firefox itself is not.
Anyway, thanks again. I think I need to keep looking.
