MATLAB R12 in SOLARIS 10 6/06

Again I only see this problem in Solaris 10 6/06
The first time matlab R12 is started in solaris 10 6/06
it takes several minutes to start, the system freezes until
the matlab splash screen comes up then normal operation resumes.

My mistake!! Excuse me!! :-)

Automatic Form Feed - Epson LQ - 2180 printer to R12 in Solaris Environment

We are adding a new Epson dot matrix [ Impact] Printer to our system. [Epson LQ - 2180]
Server OS: Sun OS sun4v sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise-T5120
R12 Version: 12.1.3
This is a network printer. This has been added to the printer server via root. We have configured the Printer in the Front end also via Install -=-> Printer in System Administrator REsponsibility.
Our goal is to print three programs serially one after the other at a time. The paper input feed is continuous sheet.
When we print from normal windows applications like notepad and MS-word, the page feed / form feed automatically gets set after each request. So that each request gets started in a New page. But this is not the case when we try to do the same from EBS.
Is there any special setting / value that we need to set in the Printer Drivers like Arguments, Initialization and reset.
We referred the printer manual but could not find any specific command or value to be set for Solaris.
Your help is very much appreciated.

No cc ( c cmpiler) required for R12 on Solaris

Hi,
I saw the R12 installation document, (system software and Networking requirement section).
For Solaris SPARC the following maintenance tools are required
ar, ld, make and xdisplay server.
ar--> for archiving files
ld--> link editor for object files
make-->make builds object files from the source files and then links the object files to create the executables
But there is no cc or gcc ( c compiler) for solaris.....why it is not mentioned? I think, by default it will come with solaris????

RapidInstall R12 on (solaris 5.8) fails to start OPMN

When installing a new single-node system, opmn fails to start.
The error in adopmnctl.txt states:

Has anyone gotten Run_Report_Object to work in R12?

We're trying to bypass the concurrent manager and launch reports directly from custom forms in order to dynamically validate report parameters. From what I've seen on this forum and elsewhere, the reports server was removed in R12. Does anyone know of a way to launch a report directly from a form in R12? We're running Oracle HRMS R12 on Solaris 10 with a 10.2.0.4 DB.

Cloning on r12

I cloned DB tier successfuly,when am cloning application tier , am getting the following error :

Do you have proper entry in the hosts file?
Did you install all OS pre-req. software/packages before running postclone on this node?

And i had really hard time installing ADI today. I did install ADI but was not able to configure. I copied the tnsnames.ora file from $TNS_ADMIN(8.0.6 O_H) to c:\orant\network\net80 and c:\orant\network\network. But it says could not connect to database.What is the complete error message?
What is the ADI version?
Did you run "ADI Diagnostic Wizard"? If yes, does it show any error/warning messages?
And there is another directory orawin95, this also contains the network,net80 folders. Should i copy tnsnames.ora to this directory as well. And should i remove sqlnet.ora from these directories as well..You will have to copy the file to both directories. Btw, what does the tnsping return?
Plz any step by step document for installing it. I followed the UVA (University of Virginia) documents and configured it properlu. Still the same problem.There are many documents available and I believe the installation of ADI is strightforward. However, you may see these documents.

Relinking libraries in r12 after cloning

We have implemented EBS r12 on solaris 5.10. My production system is working fine. But when i try to clone from production to test. DB tier is comming up well. But APPS tier is showing some library issues. like below

Hi,
These are the symbolic links which are not copied or not exist in the clone system as the paths of source and clone system is diff
recreate the symbolic links using the correct paths after u copy the filesystem to target.
1)use below command to list the links in source and compare it with copied filesystem on target
#find . -type l -print | wc -l
remove wc -l to get the file names and paths
2)delete the link using rm -rf command ,before doing that take note what are links and were they are pointing
3)create new link using below sysntax
# ln -s /ebiz1/PATCHAPP/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/webcache/bin/webcachectl webcachectl ( webcachectl is the link to /ebiz1/PATCHAPP/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/webcache/bin/webcachectl)
after u do the above steps then run postclone

Matlab script window in labview 7.0

In labview 7.0 the matlab window associated with the scripts server is normally hidden and not accessible to the user. In LV 6.x it was and provided a flexible and interactive way of collecting, analyzing and storing data as matlab workspace.
Is there an alternative way to access the script server and its workspace under LV 7 ?

The script server window is not hidden on my machine and I am using LV 7 with Matlab R12. I am not sure how to change this setting (or even if it's possible).

Java Memory error for applprod

Hi,
I have strange problem. I am running "Create accounting" program and it errors out with the error message
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
I have sun SPARC servers, with 16GB RAM, 38 GB SWAP WITH 12.1.1 and 11.1.0.7
So following the note

The funny thing is
when i run the command java -Xmx2048M -version it works fine on root and oraprod. But when i run in applprod it throws the same error

Hi Hussein,
I created another user test1 of group dba and ran java -Xmx2048M -version. It worked with out error.
Then i found the only difference between test1 and applprod is ulimit -s set to unlimited in applprod but not set in test1
I removed ulimit -s unlimited for applprod the executed
java -Xmx2048M -version
it worked fine.
But i guess ulimit -s unlimited is a pre-requisite for running R12 in solaris??
What shoud i do

Trading Partner Summary Report not getting genrated in PDF

Hi all
We are running EBS r12 on solaris 5.10 machine.
Problem is there is a report called "Trading Partner Summary Report"
it is getting completed successfully but when i try to c the output it says
File does not begin with '%PDF-',

Create supplier button not visible

Hi Gurus
We are running r12 on solaris 5.10. We have one custom responsibility "KGL AP Superuser".
Previously we had a option of “Create Supplier” option under KGL AP Superuser--> supplier --> Entry. Now that option is not visible. But It is there is TEST CLONE. How do I enable or visible this in PRODUCTION.
