Matreial Number/Part number sits on short text column instead of Mat# colum

Hi Experts,
When i am createing a PO for repair or warranty, Part number sits in short text column instead of Material number column.
Tcode ME21N....not sure why.
Please suggest if its a config thing or can be solved in ABAP...

1. creating free text PO w.r.t material group for reference to material group contract
2. miselanious - SHORT TEXT vs Contract MATERIAL group miselanious SHORT TEXT are same
now i get error Please specify short text more precisely
Why SAP set as E . if i make W . what are the impacts.
-> Purchasing
-> Environment Data
-> Define Attributes of System Messages
-> System messages (double click on it)
Add a new entry
Version = 00
Appl.A = 06
No. = 474
Cat = E
if i set W , i could create PO successfully. ..
Why SAP KEPT ERROR for this matter?

Message 06474: "Please specify short text more precisely" for a purchase order with reference to a material group contract.

Cause and prerequisites
In the new transactions for the purchase order, the system displays the message for a material group contract with reference, which is correct, if there is an assigned material without a material number and the short text, which was copied to the purchase order from the contract to help you, was not changed to the actual material text. In this case, the short text of the material should be more specific in the purchase order than that for the material group in the contract.
For situations in which the specification of the purchase order text does not need to be checked, the message could be made adjustable in Customizing.
In Transaction ME21 and ME22, the text is not copied and must be entered manually. However the system then no longer carries out a check.
Solution
For situations in which the specification of the purchase order text for contracts with the item category material group should not be checked, this note enables you to set error message 06474 in Customizing.

De-Activate Short Text Use in a PO

All,
When creating a purchase order, perhaps to a cost centre (K), it is possible to use short text functionality instead of a material number.
However, I would like to remove this option and make it mandatory to use material number rather than a short text. I see one option:
1) Activate a system message. Does anybody know of a system message to make material number mandatory? Message MEPO052 is closest I can find, but this either/or option only.
Note: I could change layout at document level and set the short text field to display only, however, this is not an option because the short text field still needs to be used, ie, change description of material.
Any ideas?

Go to SPRO> MM>Purchasing>Purchase Order>Define screen layout at document level
Click on ME21N , click on Basic data, Item select the Material description radio button as display.

Yeah my requirement is quite unusual, but such is the situation.
I want to make the short text field in purchase order creation "only disply". what is happening is that user while creating PO is able to change the text of material in short text column. I want to make it only for display.
Can it done on document type level, since for service type, and Text type of account assignment cat, only text field is filled up. so how to do it.

If you want to have the short text display only for standard item but not service item, you may check below customizing.
Transaction SPRO:
MM-PUR-PO
-> Define screen layout at document level
Field Selection group: Basic Data, Item
Field Selection Key: PT0F Standard item purchase order
Field: Short text -> set as display

Keep getting an error message when trying to send some texts to valid numbers, "Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code.

I have done that to no avail. Any ideas?

I had the same issue with the iPhone 6 and tried everything! I now understand that at some point I stored a number for a contact without including the area code and sent a text message. So, to correct the issue, you must literally "erase" all references to the contact, not just the number. Deleting the contact and entering a new one is not enough because the iPhone stores references to that number in multiple places. The steps below worked and are very simple:
1) On the contact screen, delete everything stored for that number. You can't just edit the contact to fix the problem, so write down or record the info somewhere before you complete this step. Choose edit and then select DELETE to eliminate the entire contact which means home, work, cell, email address, etc.
2) Delete the entire string of messages you sent to that number. That's every single message...
3) Now delete the entire string of invalid 2114 messages you received after your text(s) failed.
4) Finaly, remove the contact from FAVORITES if you saved it that way.
5) To validate that all this worked, simply go to the keypad or contact screen and enter the number associated with the contact to verify successful removal. I used the keypad and dialed to confirm. If the contact number still shows up, you need to go back and recheck your steps. Trust me, I had to do this a few times.
Several posts suggested that you should reset and turn off your phone. After following these steps, it was not necessary for me to reset or turn off my device.
is there a much faster way to achieve the same results? Probably, but this was safe for an iPhone novice and may help you avoid inadvertently deleting other contacts or replacing factory settings that you need.

Short text and number of outline not maintained error in BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE

Hi Experts,
I am using BAPI BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE' for creation of service entry sheets.
I passed below data into the respective parameters
Entry Header Sheet -
SHORT_TEXT
THIS IS SAMPLE TEXT
PO_NUMBER
231002130
PO_ITEM
00010
And just executed BAPI, I am able to get the ENTRYSHEET NUMBER.
Next I tried passing below data again
Entry Header Sheet -
SHORT_TEXT
THIS IS SAMPLE TEXT
PO_NUMBER
231002130
PO_ITEM
00010
ENTRYSHEETSERVICES:
QUANTITY
10.000
BASE_UOM
AU
And then executed - I am getting an error saying 'Short text and number of outline not maintained'.
My input file to BAPI contains the structure as PO, Item Number, Short Text for Service Entry sheet and Quantity.
Please suggest if any ideas.

I’d be happy to help with this messaging error! This will be due to the device storing the number incorrectly. Please do the following to resolve the issue:
Delete texts from both old number and new
Delete any call logs including these numbers
Delete old number from contacts
Delete new number from contacts
Restart device
Send text to the new number directly (do not save as contact)
Once the text sends successfully, you can then save as a new contact

I have seen private individuals offering this service
It seems strange to me that no internet site like Apple, Yahoo or Google offers this as a free service much as the email group services are free services.

I think the app GroupMe might do what you want. You might also try contacting your carrier. My carrier offered some fancy group texting service for a while but they never really advertised it so, unless you asked, you never would have known. But, GroupMe is available in the app store. There are lots of other apps that also do group texting but it seems to be the one that gets recommended the most.

How can this be fixed? Most of my numbers are saved as 7 digit

So I THINK I've figured this out. Hopefully. I was getting the same problem when I was trying to text my boss and my dad. I went back to try to delete the contact and try again and I noticed that I had the little phone icon next to their numbers and not the messaging text bubble. But I'd also left their type of phone as "home" in the drop down menu. I edited that to mobile and boom, got the text messaging bubble. Tried texting them both, I could now send the message.
I think if the number is set to home the phone assumes it's a landline and doesn't even try to send. I think the people who have had success deleting and re-inserting the contact edited that piece of information without realizing it.

It has nothing to do with iOS 6. It's always been that way. Given that it's been this way for so long, one assumes that Apple knows about it and has their own reasons for not changing it.
Restore the phone as new, not from back up to delete the numbers. Or, wait until the cache gets overwritten.

what is the maximum number of 263 byte text files that can fit in a folder - on a windows 2000 operating system?
I created a java program that creates these text files.
It was set to loop 30,000 times.
It created a total of 21874 html files before throwing a null exception.
I tried to copy and paste 10 more html files manually and it said not enough disk space.
however, I made a New Folder in that same folder and I was able to successfully paste the folders in
there.
That's interesting.
It appears there is a size limit in each folder, BUT I can make another folder within that and successfully paste more html files in there
Does anyone know the rules governing this feature.
