Matrix report in condensed mode in dot matrix printer

How can we print a 10g matrix report in condensed mode in dot matrix printer? The dot matrix printer is a Epson LQ 1070+ printer. I am tried using a printer definition file and given printer codes in the report. The printing is not taking place in condensed mode. This method however is working for other reports. Could any one help?

Jayram

Hi all,
This is to inform that I have myself found the solution. It is possible to print matrix report in condensed mode. The method for printing is same as for any other report. The mistake I made was not checking whether the .prt file is getting referred correctly. The DESFORMAT system parameter was getting populated through the calling form. By referring to the correct .prt file the problem got fixed.

  • Print in Character Mode on Dot Matrix Printer

    Dear All,
When we print any reports from SAP to Dox Matrix printers it comes in graphic mode. So it will take too much time to print and  print is also not readable.
Same I want to print in Character mode (Simole reports where graphics are not involved e.g. Financial Ledger, Cash Voucher etc.).
Whether it's required to setup at printer level or at SAP.
    Thanks

    Hello,
I think this required to setup at printer level.

  • Printing Reports to Dot-Matrix Printer

I have a customer that is trying to print a report to my company's dot-matrix printer and we keep seeing a "bold/unbold" command (7B, OB) where we should be getting actual bolded text. Is there anyone who has experience printing Oracle reports to a simple dot-matrix text printer? Can you suggest a printer emulation or fix?

The dflt132,dflt like.. files in c:\orawin95\rdbms\reports\print(may be dir is correct) for the printer and make sure that the file contains the correct escape sequence
    like if bold escape "70",etc..
if you know Foxpro Special Char values, the samething you can apply in the dflt files.
    Hope this helps.

The client want all the Invoices to get printed in this format as it requires least usage of ink.

  • Crystal Report speed problem on dot matrix printers

We are attempting to print marketing documents (sales orders) to a dot matrix printer using Crystal Reports. All the add-ons for B1 do this using the crystal report viewer which causes crystal to send true type fonts to the printer, making it very slow. We can run the crystal reports in draft print mode outside of B1, and the performance is good. Is there a way to get the same performance in B1 using Crystal?
All solutions we have found will require us to launch Crystal reports and have the end user enter parameters, using a link off the application menu works this way. But we are looking for a better solution to print to the dot matrix printer faster.
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,
When you are printing it from b1 make all the font to the regular type ( not like bold are italic) like that then it will be some how faster...

      Dim Frm1 As New Form1     Dim RV As New CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer     CR.SetDataSource(PrintDatabase1.Tables(0))     RV.DisplayGroupTree = False     RV.DisplayToolbar = True     Frm1.Controls.Add(RV)     Frm1.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized     RV.Dock = DockStyle.Fill     RV.ReportSource = CR     Frm1.Show() When print the Document , the printer print in Portrait Orientation mode . why I donu2019t know second : same situation but I add this code   Code:
CR.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape When print the Document , the printer print in Portrait Orientation mode . why I donu2019t know thired :   Code:
    CR.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape CR.FormatEngine.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape
Again When print the Document , the printer print in Portrait Orientation mode . why I donu2019t know
Now after I changed the defaults setting for the Epson printer to Orintation = Landscape Paper size = Legal And used this code Code: SetDataSource(PrintDatabase1.Tables(0))       CR.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape       CR.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperLegal CR.FormatEngine.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize.DefaultPaperSize = PaperSize.DefaultPaperSize.PaperLegal The printer print in Landscape mode but it not printing the data which located in the right side of paper While that I checked the properties of printer from printer button in the crystal report viewer I found the orientation = Portrait I think its mean the program print the document by coding as landscape but printer receive it and print it as portrait because that it is not shown the right side of paper
i'm upgrade fees program for our Department which has been developed using Q basic language, and the were using same printer and same size of paper. they were printing fine without any prablem like what im facing help to get the help soon thanks for all the members

  • Need to Take Fast Printing on Dot Matrix Printer Using Report 10g

    Dear ,
I need to take a fast output of Oracle 10g reports on Dot Matrix printer
Client runs the report and open in PDF but when he takes hard copy on his/her local printer, then printer works very slow and take huge time to print a single page.
Kindly help me, how can client get the output directly on his locally attached Dot Matrix Printer and fast.
Reports desinged and compile in Report10g R2 and
    Middle teir using =Application Server 10 R2.
    Thanks and regards.

Draft mode is not by font.  It is a specific printer mode.  If you can not manually setup the mode, B1 may not have any abilities to print in this mode.

  • Crystal Report printing on dot-matrix printer

    Hello,
I've developed an application using VB.NET and Crystal Reports in VS2008. The report generated gets printed correctly on modern laser or inkjet printers. However, the entire formatting gets affected when I print these reports on dot matrix printer. Apart from that. the print speed is very slow. I tried exporting the report to PDF, DOC and other formats - but no solution. There was Export to Text function, which is not working in Crystal Reports now.
After a research on this issue, I found out few links to some solutions - which actually doesn't work. These links are as follows:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/vscrystalreports/thread/e24a8084-ad53-48bc-a7d5-065ef82636ac
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vscrystalreports/thread/dd506c66-4cdc-48a7-9fa8-2c6f14daef24/ (Same issue in C#)
I've seen some software, in which, when Print on Dot Matrix (custom menu option) is selected, data is sent to DOS mode and reports are printed from DOS mode.
Is there any solution for this? OR DOS mode is the only solution?
This is high priority issue. Even though we're moving ahead in IT industry, govt. still depend on 4 color dot matrix printer reports.
    Waiting for solution

  • Text Format Report to Dot Matrix Printer

    Hi,
I would like to know how do I output my reports to dot matrix printer. In this way I need to output the report from Report Server (in text format) and send it to the dot matrix printer.
If I send the report in PDF or JSP format, then the printing process will be slow as PDF or JSP format may contains some graphical objects. The printing process will be faster if the report is in text format.
How do I output the report from the Report Server in text format to the dot matrix printer?
    Cheers
