Hi Adrian_s2012,
According to your description, you want to compare values for the month of current year with the month of prior year and get the variance. Right?
In Reporting Services, we don't have any function to get this "Year to Year" Growth. In this scenario, if you data source is a cube, we suggest you use Analysis Services to achieve your requirement. If this data source is just from database, it will be hardly
to calculate the variance because we need to compare the values within every two different column group and matrix generate adjacent columns one by one. Even we make it by using custom, every time executing the long code when generating result
in a cell will reduce a lot of performance, we really don't suggest to do that in SSRS. Here is a thread with much easier requirement, please take a reference of that:

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    hello,
    I think you'll have much more answers if you post in one of the three discussion boards "Blackberry Development" :

  • When will SUpport for Oracle 8i Stop??

    Hi All
    Can anyone tell me if there is a schedule available for the life time of Oracle products.
    Specifically I am interested to know when Oracle will stop supporting Oracle 8i RDBMS.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kim

    The certification matrix on Metalink (http://metalink.oracle.com) and available from the OTN home page (under "Get Support") have links to the Oracle desupport notices.
    Error Correction Support (what most people refer to as support) for 8.1.7.4 on all platforms will end at the end of 2004. On some platforms, it ended at the end of 2003. Extended support extends that by a few years.

  • Reports 9i and non-oracle application servers

    Does Oracle Reports 9i run on any other application servers other than Oracle 9iAS?????

    hello,
    Oracle9iAS Reports Services are shipped as part of Oracle9i Application Server. However, the components of Oracle9i Reports are based on common standards (J2EE Servlet, JSP) and should therefore usable with other application servers.
    At this point, we provide neither instructions nor support for application servers other than Oracle9i Application Server. Problems will have to reproduce on an Oracle9i Application Server configuration in order to get support.

  • Creating reports using oracle application server

    Hello All,
    I am a complete newbie with Oracle Application Server(OAS) and Oracle reports. My task is to generate HTML and PDF reports using OAS. The current application has a aspx pages(ASP.NET as front end) which calls a third party tool Fast Radar Report which fetches data as per the user need(like month, day, year, product name....) and displays it in a grid format. I have to remove the FastRadar part and use OAS's OracleAS Reports Services components to generate those reports
    I went through chapter 12 of Oracle.Application.Server.10g.Essentials by OReilly 2004 edition
    It briefly glances through that part. But, it seems to mention about Oracle Reports something like "Oracle Reports has a wizard-based frontend called Oracle Reports Developer that can build reports. Oracle Reports Developer is part of the Oracle Developer Suite. The reports created with Oracle Reports Developer can be deployed to the Web using OracleAS Reports Services support in Oracle Application Server."
    I am unclear what to do. Do I need to create the report format in Oracle Reports using wizard-based frontend called Oracle Reports Developer and then deploy it using OracleAS Reports Services?
    Or, is there a way to create the report format using OracleAS Reports Services without using Oracle Reports. I am told we have just OAS installed, don't know if Oracle reports is installed or not as it is done on a remote site.
    Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    One has to develop reports using Oracle Reports developer and then has to deploy it into the application server. To do so you need the Oracle developer suite installed, this has wizards which can be used to develop reports.

  • Oracle Matrix Report output to XML Publisher

    We have an Oracle matrix report (rdf) registered in our applications and we are trying to format the report output using XML publisher.
    I have taken XML output of the report by changing the Report output to XML in concurrent program definition. Using this XML output we have started designing the RTF template using Template Builder for Word 5.6.2.
    I am not able to get the MAtrix output in XML publisher. I am not sure how to design a Matrix Report using Template builder for word. I am not sure whether the XML output of Original Report has Tags mentioning Matrix report attributes or Not.
    Can anyone help me by explaining how to design a Matrix Report template using XML report output. Appreicate your help.

    I have posted a Blog on our blog site about how to create a matrix report in XML-Publisher

  • Oracle Application 10g migration

    Hi,
    Currently we are using 10g Application server. I just want to create the roadmap for our product. So I want to know, whether we can migrate 10g forms/reports on 11g forms/reports and deploy on Oracle application server 11g?
    Oracle application server 11g, supports to forms and reports server?
    Regards,
    Jaymala

    Yes you will be able to do that (migrate/upgrade your 10g Forms & Reports applications to 11g Forms & Reports) and deploy on Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g.
    Note that FMW 11g release having Forms & Reports is not yet out. I am not sure about the exact time frame but it is expected to be out sometime this calendar year.

  • Need help on installing Oracle Application express 3.2

    Hi,
    I had downloaded Oracle 11g database and installed the personal edition.I got the Enterprise manager login page working and also the DBConsole
    I had Downloaded APEX 3.2 and wanted to install apex 3.2.I wanted to do the following scenario
    Scenario 3: Install from the Database and Configure the Embedded PL/SQL
    Gateway
    Planning to do these steps: ( I have few questions on these steps and are below each step)
    ■ Running the apxconf.sql Configuration Script
    Do I have to install Oracle Application express or is it already installed in 11g personal edition?
    Do I have to create a seperate database or schema for this step( I have only one instance orcl1) ?■ Verifying the Oracle XML DB HTTP Server Port
    Can I do this step in my current orcl1 instance,if so which user■ Enabling Oracle XML DB HTTP Server
    Once I carry out these steps, Can I access the admin page for apex with https://localhost:port/apex_admin ?
    Am I missing any other steps ?
    Thanks

    I have one idea..
    Try to install again:
    1) download and unzip apex_3.2 in $ORACLE_HOME
    You will have:
    $ORACLE_HOME/apex - old directory
    $ORACLE_HOME/apex_3.2 - new directory
    2) in command line go to $ORACLE_HOME/apex_3.2/apex
    run sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    in sqlplus run @apexins tablespace_apex tablespace_files tablespace_temp images
    Where:
    tablespace_apex is the name of the tablespace for the Oracle Application Express application user.
    tablespace_files is the name of the tablespace for the Oracle Application Express files user.
    tablespace_temp is the name of the temporary tablespace.
    images is the virtual directory for Oracle Application Express images. To support future Oracle Application Express upgrades, define the virtual image directory as /i/.
    Example:
    @apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/
    3) check installation log for errors
    4) in command line go to $ORACLE_HOME/apex_3.2/apex
    run sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    in sqlplus run @apxconf
    set admin password
    set port
    5) run @apxldimg.sql $ORACLE_HOME/apex_3.2
    6) check for running listener and try to login apex: http:\\host:port\apex\apex_admin
    Good luck!

  • Oracle Generic Connectivity in Oracle Application Ser ver 10g.

    Hi Tak and All!
    With the help of your great guidence, I have connect the Generic Connectivty for MS Access and MS Excel successfully in client server environment.
    The topology was..
    Host A = Custom installation of Oracle9i database + MS ACCESS
    Host B = Oracle 9i Database (Complete)
    But...
    tell me How the Oracle Generic Connectivity will connect in ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER. What will be the concept and topology? Because the client only have the URL which is used for getting application on browser.
    I will be extremely thankful.
    All these forums always help me.
    Thanks
    Rana Adnan

    It depends. Oracle Reports can connect to Oracle and non-Oracle databases directly, without using Generic Connectivity.
    Your Forms application would presumably connect only to the Oracle database. The Oracle database might well connect to other Oracle and non-Oracle databases via database links. The non-Oracle database links would utilize Generic Connectivity.
    Given the three machines A, B, and C
    A could connect to B and B could connect to C
    A could connect to C for reporting queries

  • How to install and configure OIM with 11i Oracle Applications(11.5.10.2)

    Hi,
    We are currently having Oracle Applications 11i (11.5.10.2) Instance.
    I need to install Identity Management (OIM), SSO and configure these to 11i instance.
    Can you please provide me below,
    - What are the documents to be followed.
    - What are the pre-requisites to install OIM, SSO.
    - Where can i get the software of OIM, SSO and any pre-reqs.
    - What are the latest versions to be install to support 11i.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Kishore K.

    What is the last Oracle support date of 11i (Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2) ? I mean no new patch for bug fixing, no Oracle Expert answering Customers' Questions via Metalink.
    I understand that to use Extended Support of Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2, we need to pay additional fee. What are the fees? Are we free upgrading to Oracle Applications 12g and Database 11g at anytime? Any constraints? I believe you got an answer in your other thread -- what is the Lifetime of Extended Support of Oracle E-Business Suite Release
    For the fees, no one can tell except your Oracle Sales representative.
    If we want to upgrade to Applications 12, Database 11G from Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2 and Database 10.2.0.3, what are the hardware requirements and software requirements? Check the installation manual (which I believe you can find by yourself) and old threads for similar discussion -- http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=Hardware+AND+Requirements&objID=c3&dateRange=last90days&userID=&numResults=15&rankBy=10001
    How long will it take Oracle to ship Software to us? Usually 3-5 business days.
    Atif, please read the links/docs before posting similar questions, posting questions (which we already discussed many times in the forum before) across the forums is just a waste of your and our time.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Calling workbook from oracle application 11.03

    hi,
    i want to call one report of discoverer from oracle application 11.03 request set.if any one has done this ever or have any idea how should i do this,please reply back.
    thanks in anticipation
    null

    hi,
    this will help u in solving the problem.
    This can be simply achieved via the following steps:
    Add a 'Push Button' to an existing form, where you wish Discoverer to be run from.
    Add a standard 'WHEN_BUTTON_PRESSED' trigger to this button.
    Edit the trigger to insert the HOST command referencing the Discoverer executable(including the full path), plus the command line options you require. An example of this is shown below:
    HOST('C:\ORAWIN95\DISCVR31\DIS31USR.EXE /CONNECT SCOTT/TIGER /OPENDB TESTQUERY1 /SHEET ALL');
    In this example, command line options have been appended to the Discoverer executable to first connect as a specific user, then open a Workbook that has been saved to the database, and then run all the sheets in the workbook. These command line functions are optional and there are others that can be used to perform various functions. For more information on the complete Command Line options available, see Chapter 13, section 13.3, of the Discoverer 3.1 Administration Guide or see the following WebIV Note copy of the same:
    Note.68739.1 - Complete Command Line Options for Discoverer 3.1(Admin & User Edition)
    Other references
    For command line options available with the 3.0.8 release of Discoverer(which were only available for the 'User Edition' in this release), see the following note:
    Note.44841.1 - Command Line Parameters With Discoverer 3.0 User Edition

  • Matrix report from SQL

    Hi,
    I need generate a matrix report where row and column data will be dynamic. So, is there any way to generate this kind of report using SQL.
    Column name will itself a data.
    Eg.
    Column Name (on top) will be the projects name lying with the filter condition
    Row name (on left side) will be the user name.
    Value (of the matrix report) will be the Hours entered by the user for that project.
    Thanx.. Ratan

    Hi Frankfurt,
    Thank. I agreed with you, using any UI tool it is
    easy to do. But this is the case where this work has
    to be done only by back-end.
    I tried to use PIVOT but I think this is not a
    command of Oracle9i.
    So any other idea?PIVOT is only available from 11g
    You still haven't clarified if you really mean you want a dynamic number of columns or there is a fixed number of columns. If the answer is dynamic then you can only do this, to the best of my knowledge, using the technique in the link I gave. If fixed then we can work out some simpler pivot code for you (although a search for 'pivot' on this forum will show many many examples already).
    ;)

  • Problem Bursting to eText - Oracle applications

    Hi,
    I want to burst some text to a file in addition to seeing some output in the output of a concurrent program.
    We're on 11.5.10 CU2 and our XML Publisher is 5.6.3.
    The approach is as follows;
    - Create Report and register in Oracle Applications with output type as XML. The application short code is 'XXX'.
    This report uses fnd_request.submit_request to launch XDOBURSTREP in the after-report trigger.
    - Create a Data Definition that has the same code as the short name of the registered concurrent program. The template attached to this Data definition is Excel.
    However the data definition has a bursting control file which calls an eText Template as well.
    The control file looks like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xapi:requestset xmlns:xapi="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/xapi" type="bursting">
    <xapi:request select="/TEST_BURSTING/">
    <xapi:delivery>
    <xapi:filesystem output="/tmp/myfile.txt" id="txt">
    </xapi:filesystem>
    </xapi:delivery>
    <xapi:document output-type="etext" delivery="txt">
    <xapi:template type="etext" location="xdo://XXX.BURST_TEST_ETEXT.en.US?getSource=true">
    </xapi:template>
    </xapi:document>
    </xapi:request>
    </xapi:requestset>The eText template has a code of BURST_TEST_ETEXT and is registered to the language code en with territory code US and an application of XXX.
    When I run it, the first concurrent program is fine and I get my excel output and then the one submitted in the after-report trigger completes with an error like this.
    /tmp/myfile.txt (No such file or directory)
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/myfile.txt (No such file or directory)
