Matrix to find differences between OIM11g R1 and R2

Friends,
We are 50% completed developing OIM 11gR1. But now, R2 came out.
I would like to know the main differences between OIM 11gR1 and OIM 11gR2 so that I can convince my client to go for R2 rather than R1.
If there is any matrix which will show these differences, please let me let me know.
I would like to know the differences for the below.
1) Business wise
2) Technical development
3) End user stand point

1) Business wise
R2 is much more business friendly. It's structure is now simple and more secure than that of 11Gr1. Each and everything is request based. Shopping cart functionalities has beedn added. So manual provisioning is possible for multiple user for multiple resources at a single time.
2) Technical development
Most of things are simpleified for development as well. Few differences could be, we don't have seperate process and object form, same form is references everywhere. Template level approvals are not there. All requests are routed through SOA. You need to have skills on SOA as well.
3) End user stand point
We have two consoles now. End user can work on identity console where as admins can work on sysadmin console. Structure is seperated for both kind of users. Also UI is less heavy than that of 11Gr1.
You can ask Oracle for proper document on it.

  • Finding difference between Max date and Min date from single date field

    Dear Experts,
Here I am with a scenario where i didnt find any solution in SDN and in most threads it is unanswered.
I have 1 KF which is a date field. With reference to Serial no, I want to find out the Max and Min date from the same KF. I created 2 CKF where the same KF is used in both CKF to find the Min and Max dates,
    Ex:
Serial No | Material | Actual Del date | Max | Min | Difference
    0123 | 300012 | 01.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0123 | 300013 | 07.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0123 | 300018 | 15.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0123 | 300014 | 30.01.2009 | 31.01.2009 | 01.01.2009 | 30
    0124 | 300019 | 02.01.2009 | 10.01.2009 | 02.01.2009 | 8
    0124 | 300012 | 06.01.2009 | 10.01.2009 | 02.01.2009 | 8
    0124 | 300017 | 10.01.2009 | 10.01.2009 | 02.01.2009 | 8
This is the way how I want the output where now I am able to get the values right till Max and Min and not the difference. I even created the 3rd CKF the find the difference but it is not working.
How can I find the difference between the Max and Min dates?
    Regards,
    Chan

    Hi
You have FM --DAYS_BETWEEN_TWO_DATES you can use this while Customer Exit.
Try to Have 2 RKF for Min Data and Max Date and create a formula/CKF on the same ..
    Hope it helps

  • Difference Between Current Day and fist day of the payroll period

    Hi,
How do i find the difference between the current day and the first day of the payroll period with period parameter XX.
Operation VARSTFDYXX is used to decide if the current day is the first day of the payroll period. But is there any operation available to check the difference in exact number of days.
I know hrs=y is used to find difference between current day and a date specification record from IT0041, but i need to check difference between current day and first day from a payroll period parameter.
    Any response is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Imaneul Rajiv

No! haven't seen it at all! Do I have to drain the battery completely and then charge it? I did that the first day I bought the phone and yet the stats are the same for me
PS: I am referring to the Call Time stats and not the Usage/Standby stats

  • Find Differences between two tables at column level

    Hi,
I have 2 tables one live table and the other History table..
If i have to find differences between live table and the latest version in the History table and also find which column got chaanged
How would i do that for a table which has many columns and i need each column for which the value has changed for a id
    for ex:
Table 1   (LIve)                           Table 2 (History)
    ID col1     col2    Version               ID       col1     col2    Version
     1   ABC     123     V1                     1       ABCD   123     v2
     2   NBS     1234   V1                     2        NBS     123     V2
    Result set should be
    Result Set:
    ID col which changed
    1    col1
    2    col2
Because the values for that column had been changed
Except gives me all the differences not just the column level ..

  • Difference between open loop and closed loop mode when finding the index on a stepper motor axis.

I have a test system which uses a PXI-7352 motion controller with a MID-7602 stepper motor drive to position a 200 step/revolution stepper motor with an attached 1000 line encoder.  The MID-7602 is configured for 64 microsteps per step, giving 12,800 microsteps and 4000 encoder counts per revolution.  The system is controlled using LabView 7.1 and NI-Motion 6.13.  To home the motor, I've defined a sequence in MAX which first finds the reverse limit switch and then moves forward to the encoder index pulse.
When finding its reference in open loop mode, the system its reference at the same microstep each time.  When findings its reference in closed loop mode, the system finds its reference somewhere within about a 20 microstep wide range.
I hope somebody out there with more experience with this controller can describe the difference between finding the encoder index in open loop mode and finding the encoder index in closed loop mode.
    Thanks,
    Mark Moss

    Hello Mark,
I suspect that the behavior you are experiencing has today
with the resolution difference between your encoder and your
microstepping.  Let me illustrate with an
    example:
    Example Setup
    Stepper
    Motor
    NI
    Motion Controller
    10
steps per encoder pulse (Every 10 steps the controller gets an encoder
pulse, therefore positions 0-9 all appear to be 0 to the controller)
    The
system has a maximum of 3 pull in moves set
    Open Loop Scenario
    The
system is commanded to go to position 9.
    The
    controller sends out 9 pulses.
    The
    motor moves to position 9.
    Closed Loop Scenario
    The
system is commanded to go to position 9.
    The
    controller sends out 9 pulses.
    The
    motor moves to position 9.
    The
controller checks its position and sees that it is still at position 0
because it has not received an encoder pulse.
    Because
the controller thinks it is still at position 0, it sends another 9 pulses
as its first pull in move.
    The
    motor moves to position 18.
    The
controller checks its position and sees that it is at position 10 because
it has only received one encoder pulse.
    Because
the controller thinks it is still at position 10, it sends1 reverse pulse
as its second pull in move.
    The
    motor moves to position 17.
    The
controller checks its position and sees that it is at position 10 because
it has only received one encoder pulse.
    Because
the controller thinks it is still at position 10, it sends and additional
single reverse pulse as its third pull in move.
    The
motor moves to its final position of 16.
I believe something similar is happening with your
application as it looks for the index pulse.
Because the controller does not compensate for what it perceives as
position error in open loop mode, the motor always goes to the same commanded
position.  In closed loop mode, the motor
is bouncing around inside the single index encoder pulse trying to find a
    certain position.
There are several recommendations I can make towards
    correcting this behavior.  These
recommendations are in order of effectiveness:
    Setup
your system so that there are more encoder counts per revolution than
    steps per revolution.
    Turn
off pull-in moves by setting them to 0 in MAX.
    Use an
    open loop configuration.
    Play
around with the pull in window in MAX.
    Regards,
    Luke H

  • BCT - how to find the difference between installed BCT and the newest BCT?

    Hi,
How do I find the difference between installed BCT and the newest BCT?
or find a description of the newest BCT?
    Thank you.
    - Gunnar

    Hi,
    Thank you for your answer.
I am aware of the possibilities you mention.
I am looking for a way to find the parts of the business content that has been modified since I installed our current version WITHOUT installing anything.
    That is for example:
If F&R business content has been moved from 3.x technology to 7.0
If there is changes to the F&R content at all
-> if our current version of business content already contains the newest version of Business Content for F&R, then it is not a prerequirement to an F&R project that we update business content.
The possibility to see that the only changes might be in the area of SAP HCM ...
    Thank you.

  • What are the main differences between Signal Express and Labview?

National Instruments provides a matrix so one can quickly compare the
various versions of Labview but no comparison of Signal Express with
Labview. Hence how does Signal Express compare with Labview? What
are some of the things one can do with Labview one can't do with
    Signal Express?

hrh1818 wrote: Which version of Labview are you referring to? I don't consider the graphical version of Labview to be a full featured programming language. LabWindows/CVI is by a long shot a lot closer to being a full featured programming language than the graphical version of Labview.
    Howard,
You clearly don't know what you are talking about. There is no "graphical version" of LabVIEW, there is just LabVIEW. Click on the article "Is LabVIEW a general purpose programming language?" written by the Jeff K. for some easy reading from a few years ago. It is all still true (except that object oriented features and recursion have been added in recent versions).
One of the main points at this years NI-week was the discussion of how processor development is switching more and more to multicore designs  to improve performance because a simple boost in clock frequency is becoming more difficult. Linear, text based code is not well suited to take advantage of multticore design, while the dataflow based LabVIEW programming language automatically scales well to multiple processor cores, without any need to rewrite older code. I would say that only LabVIEW is futureproof in this respect. LabVIEW programmers are not wimps that are simply too stupid to write text based code. LabVIEW is not a toy language for people that don't want to learn a "real" programming language.
LabVIEW is arguably the best programming language in terms of getting things done! I've never felt limited with LabVIEW and my programs often don't even have anything to do with data acquisition or instrument control. The difference between text based code vs. LabVIEW is like "DOS vs. Windows", "Radio vs. HD television". "Trilobyte vs. Homo sapiens" (sorry Putnam ). Text based code is monochrome, archaic and outdated and its linearity imposes unecessary constraints on the programmer that can only be (partially) overcome by wasting even more time throwing even more code at it.
Sure, a seasoned text based programmer will initially have problems adapting to LabVIEW, just because you would need to adapt to and embrace the power of dataflow and not try to make a literal translation of the text code to LabVIEW, retaining old habits. If you get stuck, come back and ask here in the forum.
You were looking for object oriented features and failed. All you need to do is a quick site search. All the information is out there. Just because you cannot find it in the first five sentences of the glossy brochure does not mean it does not exist. Maybe you want to read one of the application notes such as:
LabVIEW Object-Oriented Programming: The Decisions Behind the Design
In general, you should avoid judgement until you have all information. Your opinions seem quite biased and superficial and not really based on hard facts.
Initially you asked about the difference between signal express and LabVIEW.

No thanks, there has to be a better way to get an answer to my
question than get involved in a two month study project.
If you would answer the first question quoted above, we could certainly help you with the decision. Isn't that the main purpose of this thread?
You can also contact your local LabVIEW Field Engineer to go over your requirements and help you make a decision. They usually know their stuff!

  • What is difference between sy-tabix and sy-index.

    SAP Seniors,
Can you please let me know what is difference between sy-index and sy-tabix.
I read the SAP help, it is confusing for me. it looks like both are same from help. please help me.
    Thank you
    Anitha.

    HI,
Here is a brief description of difference between SY_TABIX and SY_INDEX and using them with several conditions.
    SY-TABIX
Current line of an internal table. SY-TABIX is set by the statements below, but only for index tables. The field is either not set or is set to 0 for hashed tables.
APPEND sets SY-TABIX to the index of the last line of the table, that is, it contains the overall number of entries in the table.
COLLECT sets SY-TABIX to the index of the existing or inserted line in the table. If the table has the type HASHED TABLE, SY-TABIX is set to 0.
LOOP AT sets SY-TABIX to the index of the current line at the beginning of each loop lass. At the end of the loop, SY-TABIX is reset to the value that it had before entering the loop. It is set to 0 if the table has the type HASHED TABLE.
READ TABLE sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line read. If you use a binary search, and the system does not find a line, SY-TABIX contains the total number of lines, or one more than the total number of lines. SY-INDEX is undefined if a linear search fails to return an entry.
SEARCH <itab> FOR sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line in which the search string is found.
    SY-INDEX
In a DO or WHILE loop, SY-INDEX contains the number of loop passes including the current pass.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Pavan.

  • The difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers

Does anyone know what is the difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers? I can not find anywhere on Google. Also in the tutorials I have seen, suggesting DVD Studio Pro markers, but it did not mention the chapter markers.
    Thanks,

"Adding Chapter and Compression Markers to Your Sequence
Once you have your edited sequence or program finished, you can add markers to the sequence for use on DVD. Markers are reference points you can place within clips or sequences that identify specific frames. There are two kinds of markers you can add that directly relate to authoring a DVD—chapter markers and compression markers.
    • Chapter markers allow DVD authoring applications to create a navigable chapter list for your exported QuickTime movie. Chapter markers force MPEG keyframes (known as I-frames) at their location, since the DVD specification requires an I-frame at each chapter point.
    • Compression markers identify areas of abrupt change and include two types: those that are automatically inserted by Final Cut Pro at all edit points, and those you manually place in the clip or sequence. Like chapter markers, compression markers force I-frames at their location, although in this case it is for better quality encoding, and they are not used to create a chapter list.
Note: When you export a QuickTime movie, you have an option to export various kinds of markers, including compression, chapter, or DVD Studio Pro markers. *When you choose to export DVD Studio Pro markers, Final Cut Pro actually exports chapter markers and all compression markers.* This includes compression markers you set manually, as well as ones created automatically by Final Cut Pro at edit and transition points."
From the Final Cut Pro User Manual.

  • Disk Utilty - what is difference between single volume and single partition

In Disk Utility I can, should I wish, format a drive by using Erase to create a single volume. Also in Disk Utility, I have the option to use Partition to create one (or more) partition.
What is the difference between a volume and a single partition?
    What are their relative merits?
In what circumstances would I want to create a single partition instead of a volume?
Disk Utility also prompts me to name the volume or partition. From experience, what would you suggest as a suitable name and where is this information subsequently used?

A "volume" or "partition" are the same thing. The subject of using partitions has been covered many times on the forums. Do some searching and you'll find quite a lot of information. Also try doing some Google searching.

    Hi Paluri
Here is the difference between SAP locks and Database locks, i will try to find the solution to your code.
    Regards
    Ashish
Database Locks: The database system automatically sets database locks when it receives change statements (INSERT, UPDATE, MODIFY, DELETE) from a program. Database locks are physical locks on the database entries affected by these statements. You can only set a lock for an existing database entry, since the lock mechanism uses a lock flag in the entry. These flags are automatically deleted in each database commit. This means that database locks can never be set for longer than a single database LUW; in other words, a single dialog step in an R/3 application program.
Physical locks in the database system are therefore insufficient for the requirements of an R/3 transaction. Locks in the R/3 System must remain set for the duration of a whole SAP LUW, that is, over several dialog steps. They must also be capable of being handled by different work processes and even different application servers. Consequently, each lock must apply on all servers in that R/3 System.
    SAP Locks:
To complement the SAP LUW concept, in which bundled database changes are made in a single database LUW, the R/3 System also contains a lock mechanism, fully independent of database locks, that allows you to set a lock that spans several dialog steps. These locks are known as SAP locks.
The SAP lock concept is based on lock objects. Lock objects allow you to set an SAP lock for an entire application object. An application object consists of one or more entries in a database table, or entries from more than one database table that are linked using foreign key relationships.
Before you can set an SAP lock in an ABAP program, you must first create a lock object in the ABAP Dictionary.

To make things clear, here are two small examples that show how nasty locals and value properties can be to the naive programmer.
    - Open the diagram of the race condition.vi before running it and try to predict what will be the values of the two counters after the third run.
    - Use the Compare Locals Properties and Wires.vi to find out how slow locals and value properties can be (times 1000+).
This being demonstrated, I must add that I use globals and value properties quite often, because they are often very convenient
