Is anyone having problems with a Matrox Mini with Max with OSX10.8.1. mine just does not work.

I didn't sin, but you did by assuming things that are not true.
1/ The project file is on the same drive as the export, BUT, the source files are on a different capture drive than the export to C.
2/ I've been using the Matrox RTX100 with previous versions of Premiere for 7 years, and the two have worked very well together all that time, and still are working very well, and, will continue to I've no doubt. - Just because you couldn't get it to work, does not mean they don't.
3/ The export I refer to did not have any connection to the Matrox box. All Premiere and Encore.
4/ I didn't mention that I had done a lot of successful export tests of various definition formats, to other formats, and including a 1 hour Full HD export, no problems.
So, - there - nyah !

Problem with Matrox Mini, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570, Premiere 5.5.2 and After Effects CS5.5

We have a couple video workstation PC's in our office.
Premiere and After Effects have been crashing lately with increasing frequency - about every two minutes now.
Here is the setup:
Hardware
Matrox Mini - Matrox Utility release 5.5.1
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 - Driver release 275.33
Intel Xeon X5660 2.8 GHz processors
24 GB Ram
Software
Adobe CS5.5, specifically...
After Effects 10.5.0.253
Premiere 5.5.2
Windows 7 64-bit
We have two 21" LCD monitors in dual display running from the computer, and the Matrox Mini outputs a preview signal to a 15" CRT.
The crashes occur when I have After Effects and Premiere open at the same time. I am editing in a Matrox 720p29.97 timeline in Premiere. I imported several compositions from AE into Premiere through Dynamic Link and am matching audio with the animations in comps. When I switch back to AE to make an edit in the comp, After Effects generates a crash warning and then gives me the opportunity to save the project under a new name. After saving, it closes down completely. The Matrox WYSIWYG Control Panel in the system tray crashes during AE's crash, disabling the preview to the CRT from Premiere and AE. Since the Premiere sequence is a Matrox preset - in order to have output to the CRT - this freezes the timeline; the video and audio no longer play. When I save and then try to close Premiere, Premiere freezes and will not close without a force quit via the Task Manager.
In order to deal with this temporarily, I am editing in an AVCHD 720p30 sequence preset in Premiere, which doesn't send a preview feed to the CRT, obviously, since it's not a Matrox preset and the CRT is connected via the Matrox Mini. It's more than a minor inconvenience, since I use the CRT for color accuracy.
It is frustrating, since we did not have this problem until the recent CS5.5.2 update. We have tried changing drivers for the GTX 570 and changing the Matrox utility software to other versions, but no luck.
Is there a combination of GTX 570 drivers, Matrox software releases, and AE/Premiere settings that will make this work? I know there are "Known Issue" posts with Nvidia cards on Matrox's website, which include the GTX 570, but, again, this problem started with the Adobe CS5.5.2 update.
Any help here would be great, and I am willing to provide more information about the system and our crashes if it helps find a solution for the community, as I know this is not an isolated problem after reading Nvidia's, Matrox's, and Adobe's forums. I just can't find a hollistic solution on any of the individual manufacturer's forums.

I've been running with Matrox for years, starting with the Axio LE. I do 75% broadcast work and find that the Matrox works very well with my kind of workflow. Monitoring is critical and since we have to deal with 3rd. party solutions, Matrox was my pick dating way back to 2006. Sure I've had frustrations with it, but I've made far more money off Matrox than frustration.
   Here's my nearly crash-free setup:

   The reason I list all of that software, is that it all seems to get along together, including with Matrox! So, I can't say I highly endorse Matrox because I've never tried Black Magic or running an external monitor off of my video card.
    I use After Effects with all sorts of plug ins and rarely have crashes. If I put in a long day I'll have the usual crashes here and there (mainly with PremierePro), but nothing that has required evan a soft reboot of the computer.
   My frustration with Matrox is mainly the delay that often comes with Adobe coming out with a new release and Matrox taking 2 or 3 months to catch up, though when Adobe went from 5 to 5.5, there was no delay at all.
   I think that a lot of the people who trash Matrox probably haven't used a Matrox product in years. But before you listen to me, I must confess that I was an early adopter (and advocate) of SSDs and even today, many people on this forum think they're still a waste of money!
   I'll close by simply saying that I've not left Matrox after 5+ years, but keep in mind I haven't had the bad experiences that so many others seem to have had, but again, perhaps they had those bad experiences long ago.

Cropping of sides of my video image with matrox mini

Hey everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same problem I am with a Matrox mini to Dell HD monitor set up. The side edges of my image are getting just slightly cropped off. I do have the monitor set to 1:1 and the external video settings in FCP are set correctly.
Matrox technical support has a clip of my footage and can reproduce the problem but they don't know why it is happening. Their "engineers" have been looking into if for over 2 weeks and haven't solved it. They have tested my footage on two Dell HD monitors. I asked them to test on a real video production monitor but they said they don't have one!
When I asked B&H about this they said that it was probably due to the monitor (maybe because I bought the matrox from them). They said I shouldn't be using a Dell monitor because it doesn't have underscan. I know that the Dell monitor is not a real video monitor but I thought with the matrox that it should work just as well.
Anyone else having this problem??
I'm editing 720p60 footage on a new 17" macbook pro, going out to the matrox via matrox expresscard connection to hdmi, going from matrox to dell hd monitor via hdmi.

First off, I know the product manager for the MXO, and I e-mailed him this post. He said that they have over 100 broadcast monitors there, and in the tech support area, so you must be dealing with a very green tech support guy. Call back, get someone better.
Second...I don't know why the Dell is doing that. But this is a computer monitor, so who knows what it is doing. This is the fault of the DELL, not the MXO2 Mini. The MXO 2 mini sends out a full sized signal...I know this as I have one sitting right here (I keep it in my computer bag at all times), and I connected it to my laptop and then to my HD CRT that DOES have Underscan. And sure enough, it shows the full image. So the fault is not with the Mini, but the monitor.
Third...you are using a computer monitor with HDMI inputs...this isn't an HDTV. But because of the HDMI inputs you will be able to adjust the monitor to bars. Still, this is FAR from ideal as a way of color correcting. The MXO and Dell combination (via DVI) is a decent way of seeing good color, it compared well to my HD CRT. But it isn't the best, it is a budget option. Computer monitors offer 6-bit color...not 8-bit...not even close to 10-bit. HDTVs I believe can do 8-bit...so they are better than computer monitors.
Fourth...
I'm editing a film that has a lot of tracking shots so I REALLY need to know exactly what is at the edge of a frame when I'm deciding where to cut.
Ok then...use the CANVAS to look at this. The Canvas shows you the entire image. Even if you use Motion or AE, their window shows you the FULL image...and offer title safe guides. NO need to use the monitor to figure out your tracking shots.
Fifth...
The finished product will be transferred to film so I will really need to see the entire image.
If you are transferring to film, something that doesn't come cheap, why are you using the bare cheapest way of monitoring your image? One that is far from ideal. If I were transferring something to film, I'd want the best I could get. Heck, and HDTV would be better than what you are using now. But really, I'd rent a broadcast monitor with component inputs for use with the Mini. Not as good as SDI, but much better than a Dell computer monitor with HDMI inputs.
The mini is designed for people on a budget. I love the box and use it for many things. But I would NOT use it in combination with a computer monitor to grade a project going to film.

This error pops up when your mapping is incomplete...
First check all the fields are mapped....
and check all the required fields are mapped which are in RED in colour...if not map to the specific field or to a constant or disable that one...and check the type of the sourse and target fields.....is it string,floatetc
you got a element, which occurences (=minOccurs & maxOccurs) are unequal.
Those fields have to be mapped.

At Message Mapping - Test Tab, we have the following error:
"Mapping object incomplete. Unable to continue execution
Structure with min!=max without mapping"
We did added some custom segments to the standard idoc, but we already validate the xml structure and it seems valid.
Do you guys know what it means?

If you don't map a mandatory target field, red bulb is shown in graphical mapping.Altough it saves "successfully", it fails while testing using the Test Tool and throws an error mapping incomplete Unable to continue execution. So try debugging for the unmapped target field .

Avg, Min and Max with a serious twist.....ASO

Hi,
I need to calc the Avg, Min and Max on Revenue. That's simple. However Every row of data the revenue falls into a bucket/range. For example revenue is in buckets '0 to 50' or '51 to 100' or '101 to 150' lets say. As I load data I load a '1' into a 'Count' measure depending on which bucket that row of data falls into. So I can get a total count for each bucket. So '0 to 50' might have a Count of 3. '51 to 100' might also have 3 and '101 to 150' has a 2. So my range count looks like:
0 to 50 - 3
51 to 100 - 3
101 to 150 -2
The trick is they only want the Avg, Min and Max on the rows that makeup the highest 'Count'. In this case that's 3. Problem is there are two ranges that meet this criteria. When that happens they want the Min, Max and Avg of the rows that make up the '51 to 100' bucket since it's the highest range.
I can easily get the '3' by using the Max formula. So I know what the highest bucket is. Problem is I can't figure out for the life of me, how to pass only those rows that make up the '51 to 100' bucket into the Avg, Min and Max function.....
I'm stumped and in dire need of something here. I have a spreadsheet that explains the problem better. If somehow I can get a flag on those rows I can easily Avg, Min and Max it. I just can't seem to figure out how to get a flag on only those rows of data.
I'm willing to share my mocked up example and spreadsheet and .otl and sample data etc....
Please help :)

RAM Preview in real time with Matrox Mini

I followed this thread with interest. I upgraded from Production Premium CS5 to CS6 last month. I haven't been able to get Realtime RAM playback since. I'm also monitoring using a Matrox mini and am wondering if this is factoring into the problem. I recently replaced my mini because I was losing communication with the box. I did notice, with the box out of the equation, that RAM playback was in realtime. My test comp runs 5 seconds at 29.97 fps, just a photo moving from point a to b to c, with blur, over black. When I try RAM playback, the message I see is: fps 11.xxx (xxx because the frames vary slightly throughout playback)/29.97. Note: Zoom in not 100%. Interesting thing is that when I delete the photo layer and just keep the black, RAM playback seems fine.
I did adjust my RAM allocation a little, to no effect. Here are my specs:

i7-4930k 3.4 GHz (6 cores, 12 with hyperthreading)

If you disable video preview in After Effects to the Matrox device, does RAM preview run in real time?
In After Effects CS6: Preferences > Video Preview, set Output Device to Computer Monitor Only. Matrox devices may also require you to disable WYSIWYG preview in their control panel.
When video preview is enabled, every frame is transcoded on the fly at display time to the format (dimensions, PAR, frame rate) requested by the device. This requires some memory and processor power and has an impact on performance. If having video preview enabled is in fact contributing to the issue, you can reduce the memory requirements of the frame (and therefore the processing power required) by reducing the RAM preview frame rate or resolution values in the Preview panel, reduce the project color depth, or disable color management in the Project Settings.
Worth noting here that After Effects CC 2014 (13.0) uses Mercury Transmit for video preview, instead of the older QuickTime and DirectShow technologies, and while it is still subject to the limitations above it provides better performance.

What to do on ipad mini with an insufficient charging?

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if it charges, or the battery indicator updates, after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Share Function using Matrox MX02mini with FAST

Using MX02 mini with Fast and v1.8 drivers on MacPro 2.66GHz Quad, 7GB RAM having the latest versions of FCP and Snow Leopard plus all updates as at 1st November. Unable to export using the Share function although can export using QT conversion.
When attempting to use the share option the following message appears:
3x NSException raised by 'NSGenericException', reason = 'Hardware communications error with encoders 0xE00002BC (-536870212): open Session'
Is this normal or a known problem. Any suggestions welcome.

My workflow is as follows:
a) Import XDCAM EX clips using File and Transfer
b) Audio Video Settings: Sequence - Matrox MX02,Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1088i 50 48K; Capture Preset: As Audio Video Settings; Video Playback: Matrox MX02 Mini 1080 50i YUV 8bit; Audio Playback: Matrox Mini02
c) (Easy setup: Matrox MX02 1080 50i)
d) Sequence settings: for 108050i plus QT Compression: XDCAM EX 1080i 50
e) Render Settings; Apple ProRes 422 for XDCAM - have also tried 'same as sequence codec'
Then to export using Share:
File>Share>(other) Matrox H264 1080 25 for BluRay>Export = FAILURE
The Matrox setting works for Export using QT Conversion and in Compressor.

Why do I need to connect my Ipad mini with my Mac Book Pro via iCloud? I don't have iCloud on my MacBook Pro and only intend to use the mini to check e-mail and use Garage Band and Photo Booth for song writing when traveling . . .

Thanks Community! I solved the problem. In fact it was not a problem but lack of understanding. These guys at Apple are way ahead in thir thinking. I will try to explain as short as I can.
In Lion, ihe Prefferences/Display show only two choices: 6-7 steps of resolution and some color tab. No two screens, no two display to overlap, nothing for us to do. "That was the problem"! Everything is automatic.
When I connected the HDMI cable to the Miniport into a T-bolt slot, the TV screen showed the "spiral galaxy" how Zyriab is calling it. In fact he gave me the best clue. That shows the connection is good. But where is the Mac Book image?
You have to drag it to the right out of the Mac Book display area, and "voila!" it will continue on the TV screen. The same with the mouse pointer, push it out ofthe Mac Book display area and you see it on the TV sreen. Good image, you can keep the max resolution, etc. The sound is still on the Book's speakers. I have to figure that out.

Find more than one min and max in 2D array contain 0 rows

I have a 2D array and I would like to find the max and min elements between series of 0s. As you can see in the picture If I remove all 0s from the array and use the max and min function then I will have just one min and one max but I need to find min and max after every 0 rows so you can see from the picture ( just as an example) I will have 3 min and 3 max numbers. Would you please help me with this code. Do you now any algorithm that can find min and max between 0s?
I have also attached my code to remove 0s and then search for max and min numbers but as I mentioned I need min and max for every part

I have attached the vi to this post. I would really apperciate if you help me with this example. The min values should be 100, 1500 and 4000 and the max values should be 1200,2600,5400 so as u mentioned the output should be this 2D array
