Matt's Picks: March 12th Releases

Hello again all my fellow music and movie fanatics! I apologize for not getting my picks up for last week, but I trust everyone was able to find something they wanted with all of the great releases. March 12th is a pretty exciting day for new releases, and here is what I'm most excited about...
Music
David Bowie is back with his first release in ten years and his 24th album, The Next Day. He unexpectedly announced the existence of this album only two short months ago, and has since released two singles, “Where Are We Now?” and “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),”  to tide everyone over. I know I couldn’t believe it when I first heard he would be releasing a new album, and I am extremely excited to finally get to hear it! It will also be available in a Deluxe Edition.
My Bloody Valentine’s third album, mbv, and first release in 22 years will also be made available on 3/12. This album was released by the band themselves last month, but it is finally going to be available on a wider scale, including on BestBuy.com. This Irish band had a very large impact in creating the “shoegaze” subgenre, and released what is now their iconic album, Loveless, in 1991. They have been relatively quiet ever since then, so I know any fan of theirs was shocked when this album was announced.
Biffy Clyro will be releasing their sixth album, Opposites. This Scottish rock band has actually been around for quite a while, but I didn’t first hear about them until they released their fourth album, Puzzle. This was followed up by Only Revolutions, which had many great songs like “The Captain,” “The Golden Rule,” and “Mountains.” Those two albums together got me hooked! For this new release, they put out the single “Black Chandelier” a while ago which has helped to keep my interest peaked until this release is finally out.
Movies
Sound City: Real to Reel is a documentary that was directed by Dave Grohl about the history of Sound City Studios, a famous Los Angeles recording studio. This studio is where so many legendary artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Rick Springfield, Tom Petty, and Nirvana recorded albums. This documentary features interviews and performances from many of the musicians that recorded there, including some collaborations that may be unexpected. This movie will be available on Blu-ray and DVD, and will also have a soundtrack. You can view the trailer here.
This Must Be the Place stars Sean Penn, Frances McDormand, and Judd Hirsch. It follows the story of Cheyenne (Penn) who is a former rock star living in Ireland that journeys back to New York to be with his father during his final hours. Cheyenne learns the real and troubling details of his father’s life during World War II, and sets off on a journey to find those responsible. This film will be available on Blu-ray and DVD, and you can view the trailer here. This film is rated R.
Smashed is a story of a married couple who both have a drinking problem, and their marriage is put to the test when one of them decides to get sober. It stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Paul, Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman, and Megan Mulally. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD, and you can view the trailer here. This film is rated R.
What is everybody else looking forward to? Did anyone pick up any other great new releases recently?

I got Flight delivered to me by Netflix on Tuesday the day it was released. I really enjoyed it! Give it a watch if you haven't already. Denzel Washington gives a spectacular perforamance (as usual).

  • Matt's Picks: April 2nd Releases

    Music
There are some great music releases this week that I've been looking forward to for a while and I hope everyone will give them a bit of a listen. Rilo Kiley and Telekinesis are bands that I've had quite a bit of exposure to over the years, while The Besnard Lakes are a band that I've heard before, but haven't really given them the attention they deserve. I think I'll have to change that with their new album.
Rilo Kiley will be releasing a compilation of rarities and previously unreleased recordings on an album called, Rkives. This will be the first we’ve heard from them since 2007’s, Under the Blacklight, and as a fan of pretty much anything Jenny Lewis touches I have to say that I’m looking forward to hearing these songs. If you haven’t heard any of their past releases, I’d highly recommend checking out the samples we have up on BestBuy.com from their previous albums. Rkives will also be releasing on vinyl later this month.
Telekinesis will be releasing their third album, Dormarion. I first heard this one-man-band with the 2011 release, 12 Desperate Straight Lines, and just couldn’t get enough of songs like “Car Crash” and “Gotta Get It Right Now.” From what I’ve heard with the new song, “Ghosts and Creatures,” the new album may be a bit different from the short and infectiously upbeat songs from the last album, but I’ll certainly be giving it a listen. Dormarion will also be released on vinyl, and go ahead and check out the samples from some previous albums here.
The Besnard Lakes will be releasing their fourth album, Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO. This Canadian atmospheric rock band has received a lot of praise from critics in their home country, and even had two of their albums nominated for the Polaris Music Prize. If you’re not familiar with what that award represents or any of the The Besnard Lakes’ music, I highly recommend you check it out and also take a listen to the samples of their second album, The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse. You can view their other releases on BestBuy.com here.

It’s rare when there aren’t any movie releases that I’m really looking forward to, but that’s kind of where I’m at for this week. Instead of looking at 4/2 releases, let’s look ahead to 4/16 when Django Unchained will be released. We’ve still got some great pre-order exclusives available, which include the ability to watch the movie early! You can find additional details about these offers here.

Matt, you left out the two best music releases for this week! The new Stone Sour and Drowning Pool albums are pretty awesome.

Both have a good mix of hard rock and alternative.  Definitely recommend the song "Bleed With Me" off of the Resilience album as it's become a personal favorite.  Never really kept up with them after their original album with "Bodies", but I'm going to have to go back and listen to the rest of their music if they've kept up this sound for so many years.
And yeah...movie releases were really light this week.  Nothing good for me.  "A Certain Scientific Railgun" (anime) releases next Tuesday, though.  Will pick that one up.

  • Matt's Picks: February 5th Releases

Here we are at the end of another week, and I've prepared another list to hopefully get everyone excited for the new releases coming out on February 5th. Don't forget to also check out our Movies and Music pages on BestBuy.com for all of our current promotions!
I had a really hard time choosing my favorite music releases for February 5th. There are so many great albums coming out next week that I just couldn’t narrow them down, so here are six that I am really excited about.
    Music
EELS is the musical brainchild of the front man who simply goes by the name, E. The band started out as more of a solo project for E, but has transformed into a larger band that has included many other members over the years. Between all of these projects, Wonderful, Glorious will be their 15th studio release. I didn’t really know about EELS until a couple of years ago when they released Hombre Lobo and I first heard the song “Prizefighter,” but I’ve been listening to them ever since and I’m looking forward to this new album.
Frightened Rabbit is a great Scottish band that will be releasing their fourth studio album, Pedestrian Verse. You may not think you know who they are, but you may have heard their song “Good Arms vs. Bad Arms” in the shows Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill. I first heard them on their second album, The Midnight Organ Fight, with their song “The Modern Leper.” After hearing their new song, “The Woodpile,” I can’t wait to hear what the rest of the new album has to offer.
Guards will be releasing their debut album, In Guards We Trust. I first heard of Guards because their lead singer is the sister of the lead singer from the band Cults, whose self-titled debut is still one of my favorite albums from the last couple of years. After hearing a couple of tracks from this album and really enjoying them, we’ll see if it stays at the top of my list for as long as Cults’ album has.
Jim James of My Morning Jacket fame will be releasing his first solo album, Regions of Light and Sound of God. Being a My Morning Jacket fan for some time now, I’m hoping James uses this solo album as an opportunity to explore a new musical direction. I’ve heard that he plays all of the instruments himself on this album.
Thao & The Get Down Stay Down will be releasing her third album, We the Common. With her energetic folk-rock sound, Thao is releasing this album after her very well-received sophomore album, Know Better Learn Faster. That is the album that first caught my attention, and I’m looking forward to some new material.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be releasing their aptly titled second album, II. With their critically acclaimed self-titled debut being released less than two years ago, I can’t wait to finally hear this new one in its entirety.
    Movies
Celeste and Jesse Forever is a quirky romantic comedy that stars Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg as Celeste and Jesse. It is the story of the two of them going through a divorce and trying to still maintain their friendship. Celeste and Jesse have been best friends since high school so they don’t think it’ll be a problem to still be friends after their divorce, but this proves to be harder than they thought once Jesse ends up in a new relationship. You can view the trailer here.
A Late Quartet is the story of the struggles that a string quartet that has been together for 25 years faces after learning that their oldest member must retire due to illness. It stars Christopher Walken, Catherine Keener, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. This movie first caught my attention since Philip Seymour Hoffman is in it, and after seeing the trailer I knew it was a movie that I had to see. You can watch the trailer here.
Animaniacs was a great animated TV series that aired from 1993 to 1998, and the Volume 4 DVD set will be released on February 5th. This series followed the wacky adventures of siblings Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, and for anyone that was a fan of this back when it was on, this is a must have to add to your collection.

  • Problems with Optimize Window Matte Color Picker

Every time I try to open the Optimize Window's Matte Color
Picker when the palette is docked to the right side of the screen,
the color picker opens off screen so that I can't see it. I have to
move the palette to the center on my monitor to see the color
picker. Anyone else having this problem?

Matte Color Solid and Boris Vector Shape match for me. Matte Color does not.
I could not get the colors to match with the eyedropper. I could not figure out what was going on with the eyedroppper.
When I used the crayon selector, my results were the same as when I manually entered a set of numbers
I'm doing this test on my laptop, looking at the canvas, DV sequence.
By looking at the internal vectorscope and waveform I could see that the brightness and saturation were not matching. Hue seemed to be right on.
By lowering brightness and increasing the saturation on Matte Color I was able match it to the other. But as Zeb points out, this visual match required different HSB values.
Play with the Boris Vector Shape if you haven't. Cool.

    Hello, Edgarflo.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is some helpful information regarding preorder albums in iTunes.  I would recommend checking to see if you can download the single directly from the preorder album as some artists release a single that is separate from the album and will be a different purchase.

  • Matt's Picks: Week of March 17th

I’ll be honest; it’s not usually the major releases each week that I’m the most excited for, but for the week of 3/17 that’s a bit different. We’ve got some titles being released on 3/19 and some on 3/22, making this week even more awesome! What is better than two days of new releases?
    Music
Justin Timberlake will be releasing this third album, The 20/20 Experience. This is the first new material we’ve heard from JT since 2006. For anyone that has read some of my other past picks, this is probably a release you weren’t expecting me to highlight. I’m a bit surprised myself, but after watching him perform some of his new songs, “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors,” on various shows over the past month or so, I’m really looking forward to this album! Who knows, I may even throw on a suit & tie to head into Best Buy on Tuesday to get my copy!
Low will be releasing their tenth album, The Invisible Way. This Duluth, MN band has been around since 1993, and has a very mellow and minimalist sound, with great vocal harmonies. Being a Minnesota native I’ll admit I’m a bit partial to bands from my home state, although I hadn’t heard much of their music until their 2007 release, Drums and Guns. Since then I’ve been lucky enough to see them perform live, and I can’t wait to hear this new release.
Marnie Stern will be releasing her fourth album, The Chronicles of Marnia. She’s got a unique rock sound bordering on experimental, but it’s a sound that I really enjoy. I first heard her with her second album that has a title that is a bit of a mouthful. Ready for it? This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and Tha.... Now that you’re done processing that, head on over to BestBuy.com and check out some samples from her first album, In Advance of the Broken Arm.
    Movies
Les Miserables, the three-time Academy Award winner, will be hitting DVD, Blu-ray, and Exclusive Steelbook Blu-ray on Friday, 3/22. Starring, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathoway, it is a musical film based on the musical play of the same name, which is based on the Victor Hugo novel. I never got around to seeing this film in theaters, so I’m really excited for its release. This film is PG-13, and you can view the trailer here.
This Is 40, a Judd Apatow comedy, will also be released on 3/22. This film stars Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Maude Apatow, and Jason Segel. Advertised as “The Sort-of Sequel to Knocked Up,” it takes a look at the lives of Pete (Rudd) and Debbie (Mann) a few years after the events of Knocked Up. As a fan of many other Apatow films, I’m definitely going to check this one out. It will be available on DVD and Blu-ray, and is rated R. You can view the trailer here.

  • Pick List Creation Released quantity exceeds open quantity

    Hi all,
I'm getting the following error when trying to create pick lists through the SAPB1 DI:
"Released quantity exceeds open quantity "
Every time, the stock quantity in the warehouse that the code concerns is by far enough when compared to the released quantity.
I cannot turn off the warehouse setting recommended on another post on here.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Cal.

Hi, sorry for my delayed response!
This is still an issue, I already have a condition to check against the warehouse's current stock, this is being successful but still generates the above error when we get to PLIST.add()
Here's the SQL I'm using to gather my data:
    select distinct t3.docnum,t4.listName as'Price List',(select isnull(sum(1),0) from pkl1 S99 where S99.orderentry = T0.docentry
    and S99.orderline = T0.linenum) as 'cupid',t0.DocEntry, t3.Confirmed, DATEDIFF(DAY,GETDATE(),t3.DocDueDate)
    as 'DateDifference' from rdr1 t0 inner join oitm t2 on t0.ItemCode = t2.ItemCode inner join ORDR t3
    on t3.DocEntry = t0.DocEntry inner join OCRD t1 on t3.CardCode = t1.cardcode inner join OPLN t4
    on t1.listnum = t4.listNum where T0.[WhsCode] = 'xxx' and  T2.[OnHand] > 0 and  T0.[OpenQty] > 0 and T2.InvntItem = 'y'
    and t3.Confirmed = 'y' and (select isnull(sum(1),0) from pkl1 S99 where S99.orderentry = T0.docentry and S99.orderline = T0.linenum) = 0
and t4.ListName <> 'EconoSupplies Sales' and t4.ListName <> 'EconoSupplies Sales (EUR)'
    and DATEDIFF(DAY,GETDATE(),t3.DocDueDate) < case when datepart(WEEKDAY,getdate()) = 6 then 4 else 2 end group by t3.docnum,t0.docEntry,
    t3.Confirmed , t0.LineNum, t4.listname, DATEDIFF(DAY,GETDATE(),t3.DocDueDate) order by t0.DocEntry
This returns a list of all the picks that I am interested in. I have changed the warehouse code for privacy.
Next, we loop through each pick and extract the data:
    SELECT T1.[DocNum], T1.[DocEntry],T0.[LineNum],  T1.[CardCode],T0.[ItemCode], T0.[Dscription], T0.[OpenQty], (SELECT sum(s99
    .[OpenQty]) FROM RDR1 s99 WHERE s99.[DocEntry] = T0.[DocEntry] and  s99.[ItemCode] = T0.[ItemCode]) as 'TotalQty',T3.
    [OnHand] FROM RDR1 T0 INNER JOIN ORDR T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry INNER JOIN OITM T2 ON T0.ItemCode = T2.ItemCode INNER
    JOIN OITW T3 ON T0.ItemCode = T3.ItemCode and T0.WhsCode = T3.WhsCode WHERE T0.[WhsCode] = 'DSV' and  T3.[OnHand] > 0 and
    T0.[OpenQty] > 0 and T2.InvntItem = 'y' and t0.docEntry =  <<<VB VARIABLE HERE>>>
    ORDER BY T1.[DocEntry], T0.[LineNum]
These two sql commands are stored in a table and called from the VB code, for soft code re-usability.
The SQL returns the results I am expecting, and I don't think the problem lies here.
    Here's the VB code:

  • Known issue: Diagnostic tools - profiling tools fail to launch (Windows 10 Technical Preview SDK and tools, March 2015 release)

The following issues exist when you run the diagnostic tools without the debugger for Windows universal app projects (Debug >
    Start Diagnostic Tools without Debugging):
When the startup project is a C++ universal app set to deploy to a physical Windows Phone device, the profiling tools fail to launch.

    Workaround:
Using the Start debugging drop-down menu, change the target to Local Machine, Simulator, or Emulator.

  • New! More Languages Supported

I've been out for a few weeks so I didn't have a chance to post about the new languages we started to support in late June.
We now support these 12 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Japanese
You can switch the application UI to any of these languages by going to the head icon in the upper right corner of the UI, selecting "My Information" and thenchoosing your desired language from the drop down.
Also, the language of the form being created can be set independent of the application UI (English app UI users can create a French form). Form language determines the language of the form errors, submit button, submission receipt e-mail and other strings in the HTML form respondents fill out. The form language can be changed on the Options tab under "Language & Formatting"
International date/time, currency and number formatting are already available (this shipped in the March 12th release). These are now defaulted to the appropriate format based on the form language.
Templates are not yet localized in this release. All users (no matter the app language) will have access to the English templates. Localized templates will be provided over the next two months.
    Please give us your feedback...
    Thanks,
    Randy.

    Thanks Randy,
I set Italian for my form     all ok!

  • Release Tab in purchase order disappear after release using ME29n

    Hi there,
We are busy testing support stacks (upgrading from ECC6 SAP_APPL SAPKH60305 to SAPKH60307)and we've come accross a strange problem.  When we create a normal purchase order (ME21n) the purchase order does pick up a release strategy.  Using the older ME28 transaction to release this purchase order, everything is fine.  We can use ME28 to release the purchase order, as well as unreleasing the purchase order, as often as we want (the same purchase order).  When we use transaction ME29n the release tab in the purchase order just simply disappears after saving.  In the purchase order header changes, the release change is visible, but the release tab is missing.  This purchase order is now not subject for release, and a goods receipt is possible without release.  I checked in table EKKO as well and the release fields in this table for this purchase order is empty.
Has anybody had a similar experience?  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Christo Vermeulen

    Hi Christo Vermeulen,
I have detected the same problem as reported by you. Did you solve it? Do you know how can I procedure to solve it?
    Thanks in advanced,

  • Release of po when two plants with two difrent procedures

    Hi,
i am having one po with two line items .one line item with one plant and other with an other plant.two plant have difrent releasing procedure.what r the customisations required to pick the system related releasing procedure when it pick item one releasing procedure for plant1 and item 2 releasing procedure 2 automatically.
    Thanks,
    Sydanna

If  you are talking about the PO release process, then it is not possible ..
The PO release Strategy will be applicable to entire PO, Not for Line Item wise..
As the Plant will be at Item Level, If you set two release strategies for two plants,
then you will not get release strategy for PO,
If you delete the First Line Item then the Release Strategy for Second Line Item will trigger..
Similarly, If you delete the Second Line Item then the Release Strategy for First  Line Item will trigger..
Try to Choose Header Level fields for PO Release process..
If the release process is for PR, Then check this Link

  • Retriggering Release strategy for PR with Document Type, Company Code and Price Range as Characaterstics

    Hi Friends,
I have a issue to fix. The issue is releated to PR.
There are some PR's in the system which has wrong release strategy picked up or wrong approvers picked up due to some congif change. now that the config changes are rectified correctly, we need to find a solution to correct the PR's which got affected due this.
I have to retrigger the release strategy for all the affected PR's.
The characterstics which we have consider for release strategy is Document Type, Company Code and Price Range.
Can anyone suggest how can we retrigger the PR in bulk or individual to all the affected PR's, so that it picks up correct release strategy as per new config changes.
    Regards,
    Manjunath K

    Hi,
Refer the discussion to triggers release again on release code addition/change in release strategy.
release code is changed on PR release strategy - old PR can´t be approved
