Matte screen protector or antiglare display?

okay, so I'm interested in getting anew laptop...I like the air for its lightness and I think it would be powerful enough but I really want an antiglare screen.  how do the matte screen protectors stack up against the antiglare screen of the 15" pro?  if they come close. to being as good then I'd get the top range 13" air but if they effect the clarity too much I'd rather go with the 15" pro.  I'm looking at the moshi matte screen protectors....

I would never, never use any sort of screen protector on my MBP. I looked on Amazon at a few of the Moshi screen protectors for the 13" and it's just something that I couldn't live with. I think that you'd be much better served by ordering a 15" HD antiglare screen model - I sure wish that I had. Back when I bought my late 2011 MBP, it was a $250 option - now that it's down to $100 it seems like a no-brainer to me. I've seen the HD antiglare in action and have a number of friends who have them - and I'm green (with envy, you know).
While the 13" may be much, much lighter and more 'portable' than the 15", there is no antiglare option. That alone would point me in the direction of the 15".
Hope that you were looking for opinions...

  • Matte screen protector iPhone 5

I used a very good product on my old 3GS form Xtreme Mac that was a TRUE anti-glare & anti-fingerprint screen protector. It was so good I never had to replace it. Now that I have the iPhone 5, I am wondering if there is something similar or better.

I've had a full body case (Caze) and front screen protector since I bought my  black iPhone 5. It has still scratched on the painted bezel in areas. I think it was a big manufacturing fault of Apple's as £700 is a premium price for what should be a premium product.

  • MacBook Pro Glossy w/ screen protector?

    Hello,
I am buying a Macbook pro 15", later today or tommorow, I am still undecided on the glossy vs. matte display. I went into an apple store yesterday and compared the two side by side. The difference was only very slight, but Iiked the glossy a bit better. My main concern is how quickly the glossy will get fingerprints, does anyone know if there are screen protectors and what they look like? If I decide I am annoyed with the reflections are there matte screen protectors?
    Thanks

I could probably just keep the cloth closed between the keyboard and the screen, thanks. Have you or anyone else seen the screen with a screen protector over it? Does it make the screen look crappy? Thanks.

  • Screen Protector - Am I searching for the Holy Grail?

Hi guys, I want to get a privacy screen protector for my iPhone 6 Plus. I'm currently using a MediaDevil Matte screen protector, which I love. I've tried their privacy version but it 'pixellates' the screen due to the way that it's designed. Are there any privacy screen protectors out there which don't cause the pixelated effect on the display? Thanks in advance

  • Ipad 3 anti glare screen protector

I suffer from headaches from my new Ipad 3.
I also suffered with them on my Ipad 1 but used a Media Devil anti glare screen protector and the problem was solved.
I have tried the Media Devil on the Ipad 3 but it does not work very well as the resolution of the Retina screen is increased.
This causes the screen to pixalate.
Can anybody recommend an Anti Glare screen protector that works with the Ipad 3 Retina screen.
I have seen the Mosi AG advertised on line has anybody tried this on the ipad 3 ?
Does it pixalate the screen ?

  • Screen Protector/Earbud Rage

Hi! I'm new to these forums. But, I just got my first iPod, so I guess I should join. . I just got back from the apple store a few hours ago. I got three things:
    iPod Touch 4G
    25 Dollar iTunes Gift Card
    Matte Screen Protector
Okay, here's my first problem. I told the cashier near the end "Oh, yeah can I get a screen protector with that." So he rung it up, I paid for it, and he put it in the bag. I got home, and tried to install the screen protector. I did all the steps up to putting the protector itself ON, and when I was doing that I noticed there wasn't a hole for the camera. I proceeded, and it wasn't aligning with the edges right. So, I check the box. On the back it said for iPod touch 2G. I smacked myself. So now, I have a open al-most all used ipod touch 2g screen protector that I can't use. Can I take this back for a exchange/refund?
Also, aren't iPod's supposed to have the foam on the earbuds? Mine doesn't, and it's making the earbuds keep falling out of my ear, and I hate in-ear-earbuds like skullcandy. Arg, I always had this problem with earbuds. :/

The Apple earbuds no longer come with the foam protector because, well, they were lousy. I work for a company that makes earbud covers called Breppies. Our customers love our earbud covers because they make your Apple earbuds so much more comfortable. Many of our customers said they moved back to the Apple buds again because of our covers. Most of them say that their listening experience has become so much better just because of the comfort they feel now.

  • Screen Protector Reccomendations

    Hi,
I plan on buying an iPad and am looking for a few recommendations for simple clear screen protector.
I am going to be buying either the Switcheasy Nude or the Incipio Feather case that both come with clear screen protectors but if there are any with great recommendations that are sold separately i will most likely get one.
I DO NOT want one with that spray on applicator stuff, id ideally like one of the static ones similar to the iphone ones that used to be sold in apple stores.
    Thanks

I ordered a matte screen protector from Clarivue directly from their website. Application is similar to Power Support with protective removable plastic sheets on the front and back of the protector, which makes it more rigid and therefore easier to apply. I am very happy with this protector since it dramatically reduces glare and fingerprints, and does not affect sensitivity of the touch screen. It does slightly reduce screen clarity, but I got used to it after about a week.
Although i really like the Invisible Shield on my iPod Touch, the Clarivue and Power Support protectors are much easier to apply on the large iPad screen and the matte versions cut down on more glare and fingerprints.

  • Screen protector signal issues for iPhone 4?

I've been having the same problem with my iPhone 4 for a while now. The phone is perfect otherwise but on most occasions while using the phone i've been experienceing a loud crackling noise when making noise when making/recieving calls or no sound at all (no ringing and can't hear the other person speaking) however the speakers/mic work fine..
I've had a matte screen protector on the front of my iPhone ever since i've started using it and just recentley removed it and the phone is working perfect with the crackling/no sound problem gone! I have perfect clairity when making calls!
I was just wondwering is this possible that the screen protector could have caused this? To me I believe it has as the issue is now gone but my family don't think this is the case as it doesn't sound very likely a piece of plastic could do this?
Also if anyone could suggest a screen protector that could help prevent this from happening again I'd be very greatful. I think I might have to trial and error but some suggestions on where to start would be appreciated! My previous protector that I believe caused me this problem was the Power support HD anti-glare film ser for iPhone 4
    Thanks in advance!

It's hard to believe a screen protector can cause such a problem, I still think it's tricky to blame the problem on your screen protector.
Maybe you could try some super thin screen protector and see if the same problem  would happen again. If it does, then it's definitely something wrong with your iphone.

  • Screen protector required for 15" antiglare screen?

    Hi all
I've just upgraded my 2005 15" MBP to the latest unibody 15" MBP with the high-resolution antiglare screen (what a gorgeous machine it is too!), and I'm wondering whether I need to keep a soft cloth / protector between the keyboard and the screen? Over time the keys of my previous (non-unibody) MBP have permanently marked the screen
I imagine the glossy-screened MBP's wouldn't have this problem, but as the antiglare is the same 'soft' material as the old matt-screened MBP's, will I experience the same problem? Or are the keys held further away from the screen on the new unibody models?
    Many thanks for your help
    David

I just got one of those, too, Hogster86. I didn't need a protector with my 2006 15" MBP. So, I would make a guess that if your old screen was marked by the key, you'd probably do well to use a screen protector for this one. It would be safest, and yeah, you don't want to mess up that beautiful display!
The MBP comes with a protector in there, if you've still got it. Or, check at your favorite computer store for one of those microfiber cleaning cloth kits. Some of them come with a thick, chamois-like cloth specifically for use between your keys and screen.

  • Best iphone 6 edge to edge matte/film screen protector?

    Hi everyone,
forgive me if this has already been asked but would anyone please be able to recommend a protective matte/film that covers the entire display of the iphone 6. I'm aware that most tempered glass products don't cover the entire display but I'm wondering if there are any protective films and/or matte that offer full coverage? If not, what are you using at the moment?

Yes you might want to check the Apple stores they have one I think, but if you are looking for alternatives, why don't you this screen protector its the closest one that you can get , so far no screen protectors especially the film type can covered the edge, due to its curve section.

  • Screen protector on an iPad with retina display?

What are your thoughts on using a screen protector on an iPad with retina display? Does this defeat the purpose of having a high quality display, or does the protection it affords despite the less sharp screen?

I like having the protection on my iPad. I use the Otterbox Defender Case that enclosed the device completely in a black hard shell cover and it has a built in screen protector. I remove the iPad from the case every other week in order to clean the iPad and the case and I use it for a few hours without the case so I can enjoy the beautiful retina display. But I do want the protection when all is said and done.
If you are a big photo editing person, or you watch a lot of movies and videos, the screen protector may spoil the experience for you. You have to make that assessment on your own.
Even with this particular built in screen protector, I can still see a big difference in the screen resolution compared to my iPad original that has a ZAGG Invisibke Shield on it.

  • Do I need a screen protector for my New iPad with retina display?

I have a screen protector on my new iPad with retina display, but does this effect the screen display and do I really need a screen protector on?

So I just got my first ever iPad (4th gen) about 4 days ago. I am waitng on a case and have been looking into a screen protector, debating this same question on quality. I have a 3 year old and he is dying to play with it. In the meantime I cannot stress how careful I have been, as Im sure you all know what Im talking about.  Last night I was using it on my lap and my shirt tugged it off, causing me to grab it before it fell. Of course the longest, sharpest nail, caught it for me. Obviously I freak out and hurry to clean the screen to see for damage. I see there is a huge line where my nail caught it, but upon cleaning was no longer there. This nail was sharper than any key I own! So I guess what im going to do is get a complete cover for use with my 3 year old and just a basic one when I use it. Good job apple!

  • Will putting a Zagg screen protector on my retina display degrade its sharpness?

Will putting a Zagg screen protector on my retina display degrade its sharpness?

Doing a search, I found one poster who wrote the following regarding a ZAGG and retina
    needleman-mark:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/17950309#17950309
i bought the Zagg HD for my Ipad3 - good protection - does not seem to distort the retina display - I guess Im lucky in that there is a Zagg kiosk in the mall near me - they didnt have the HD protector so i had to order it from Zagg - but when it cam i took it to the person at the kiosk and they put it on for me ( charged $10) - there were a few bubbles but they disappeared by the next day

  • HT2693 keyboard and screen protector affects display on retina macbook?

i have read the issue about the palm guard affecting the display here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4384
I am just wondering if using keyboard and screen protector will have the same effect if i put it on and close the shell cover?

If you want to try a hardware test, try holding down option-D (works for me for some reason). However...
If a SMC reset doesn't fix anything, then I would take the machine into your local Apple Store or AASP. You shouldn't be having such problems with a new machine.
Try the SMC reset first - I doubt that it will fix anything.
