Matx mobo video out question?

Hi folks.
I plan on purchasing a MS-6533EG mobo for a htpc project.
The spec shows "Complete TV-out/Digital flat panel solution and MPEG-2/1
    Video decoder"
Searches show a SIS301B add on card for this function.
There is no info (that i can find) as to how to get this card, or access tvout with the SIS651/962L chipset.
Any info is much appreciated!

  • Video out question

Question - I bought a cable at Fry's to do video out. (goes into my headphone jack and has the red, yellow, and white cable coming out) I get sound but no video. what gives? Do I need an Apple branded cable? Did I do something wrong? How can I do this?
Also do I want the setting on PAL, or NTSC?
    thanks

Is this polling for the chip something that started with the 2.x firmware. I didn't have a problem using the 1.1.x firmwares, but I made the leap directly to 2.1 yesterday and now I can watch video on TV.

  • Z10 video out questions hopefully someone knows.

before I start buying adapter I figured I would ask. Z10 seems like it could be handy for video out document sharing at meetings however 95% of all projectors we come across are vga . anyone tried this. Would you need a micro hdmi to vga adapter with sound or would headphone jack still work? so if you needed sound you could plug into headphone jack and just have micro hdmi to vga?
any help would be great before spending money on all sorts of adapters.

I thnk I'd go from the Micro HDMI to VGA

  • IPod Classic Video Out Question

    Hello Everyone,
I would like to connect an iPod Classic 160GB to my car stereo with a screen and use TV out to navigate the menus of the iPod. Is this possible or does the TV out function only work on actual video and not navigating through menus? Thanks.

I have exactly the same issues. I can't believe what I hear when I compare Ipod classic with iphone 4S. The same song play on IPhone 4S with EQ set to Classical is perfectly smooth and clear but the same EQ in IPOD classic have the sound clipped and distorted. The drum cracks into many pieces instead of a solid 'TUD!' in iphone 4S. Try this songs on both devices, you will know what I mean:
    Ann Sally - O Barquinho.
IPOD classics plays it like a piece of  badly torn fabric, but on IPhone 4S the sound is perfect. Stevenfromwi is correct, it is about harmonic distortion (clipping of the sound) which no one can find it pleasing. Just try out the song above by setting both IPOD and IPHONE to Classical EQ and you will know what I mean.
When I search the reviews of IPOD classics, I am surprised that expert reviewers have long known about this issue of IPOD classics and put it as one of the long-standing and thumb-down problem of IPOD classics. See the review below:
    http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/mp3-players/272431/apple-ipod-classic-160gb
("...It's disappointing that Apple hasn't completely fixed the audio distortion..." ~ extracted from the article)
I will have to sell away my IPOD classics and find other media player now since I really cannot accept the clipping of sound. It is very dissapointing!!!

  • A few Video Out related questions (yes I searched)

Hello there! I've been searching the net and these forums for awhile now and didn't find answers to these specific questions. Any help would be appreciated.
    Question 1:
I (now) know that the iPod Classic is extremely picky in regard to getting video signals to the TV. I know that Apple requires that I purchase its cords and/or its Apple Universal Dock (not to be mistaken with the iPod Universal Dock, which is discontinued) in order to enable output to my TV. However, I have read in a few other places that the iPod Universal Dock will work with the iPod Classic. Is this true? If I plug my iPod Classic into the iPod Universal Dock will I be able to use a non-Apple cord that connects from the headphone jack in the dock to AV cables (Yellow and White) on the TV? Also, will the S-Video on the iPod Universal Dock work with my iPod Classic? I really don't feel like going out and spending another $100 on the new Apple dock and cords.
    Question 2:
In regard to the iPod Universal Dock, I have noticed that there are three part numbers: MA045G/A, MA045G/B, and MA045G/C. Is there any significant difference between these? Will all (or none) of them work with my iPod Classic?
Any other tips on how to get around having to spend another $100?
    Any help is great. Thanks!

The info provided by the link <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300233> is incompatible with users' answers posted above.
I am getting ready to try a 3rd-party S-Video to composite cable to play video from my new 80G iPod classic via an older Universal Dock (w/S-Video out) to a TV system. Will report back on results.

  • Video out connection bad on MOBO

My video went out when I opened my G4 Titanium display one day. Odd smell and no video. I found the ribbon cable was damaged near the plug on MOBO. One wire was stripped and probably contacted the metal inside. I assume there was damage to the video out somewhere on the MOBO. External display is fine. Short of buying a new cable to test the internal output to diplay is there any way to test this?

Hi, Macnag. For clarity's sake, can we agree that "video out" means the port on the back of your Powerbook to which you connect an external monitor? You say "External display is fine," so I assume there's nothing wrong with your video out. For the same reason, I conclude that there's nothing wrong with the video components on your logic board, and that's good news. You know you need a new LVDS video cable (which feeds the built-in display), because the one you have is damaged. What you may not know is how difficult it is to replace that cable, one end of which is sealed inside the glued-together display assembly. For one man's techniques for opening the display assembly to get at the stuff inside it, see http://mywebpages.comcast.net/macdan/tibook_display.html.

  • Question about video out on my iPad2.

I purchased a Skiva Medioflow composit Video / AV cable in hopes of being able to stream apps like ESPN Watch and Big 10 to TVs with only RCA inputs.  What I get is audio and no video.  It appears from what I read, only a few apps, such as itunes and netflix allow for video out.  I've read that it is up to the app maker to allow video out.   I know at least that itunes works with the cable.  Is there any way to make this happen?  I do not want to jailbreak my ipad or anything like that.  If there is a way, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks, I was afraid of that.  The more reading I did, the more I came to this conclusion.    I left a request with the Big 10 that I would like the ability to do video out.

  • Equium L20-198: Question about BIOS and s-video out

I seem to be having two problems with this and that is when I put the bios password on above it on the screen is rubbish, scrammble symbols. Also it is supposd to come with s-video out but there is a black plastic in place its place

    Hello
I know definitely that S-Video port is not available on every Equium L20 model. Please check the notebook specification although I think that your model should have S-Video port. Please contact your local dealer and talk with them about this.
Your unit has valid warranty and if you think that there is some technical problem contact service partner and explain them the problem. Please dont make some BIOS update experiments if you are not familiar with this procedure.

  • Video Out from early 2009 Mac Mini

Is there any way to go from one of the video outs on the Mini to a converter of some sort, then to video input or S video input on a TV monitor? I see that the Mini DVI to Video does not work with my version of the Mac Mini. Any other solutions?

    Grant Lenahan wrote:
The additional pins do little. A DVI-I plug will work with either.
What do you think wont work?
A DVI monitor will work on DVI or DVI-I.
A DVI-I monitor will work on DVI or DVI-I
Dont believe me? Try it ( or read the spec).
    Grant
You commented as to why make the special connector. I gave an answer based upon the original question to this post which is about +_getting a analog composite video or S-video signal to a Mini, NOT a DVI monitor_+.
Apple makes and sells an adapter to provide composite and S-video from the DVI connector of certain Mac models of Macbook Pro and Mac Pro. (I use one.) But since the Mini does not produce the analog signals, the adapter will not work, even if you could physically plug it in to the Mini. So if Apple did as you say and made the computer with the connector to use either a DVI-D or DVI-I adapter, in my example, if the aforementioned person with lesser technical knowledge plugged in the S-video connector to the Mini, they'd be angry that it didn't work. Again to avoid the "Why would Apple sell something that wouldn't work on my computer if it fits?!" type of support calls.

  • 785GM-E65 and video out

I am looking for an analog video out solution for this mobo. I bought a VGA to component video cable and that gets me an output with jiberish. I'm aiming for s-video or component. I read that some mobo's support s-video out through the VGA port. Does anyone know if MSI has included this feature on this mobo? I have not found any materials that indicate one way or the other.
    Thanks for the help.

This board doesn't support that kind of video output. You could get a video card with super video out or get something like this converter.

  • Video Out on iPhone 4

I have Apples audio and video out cable adapter.  One end plugs into the dock connector, the other end has left and right audio out, and composite video out.
When I use this cable adapter with my iPod, all videos play perfectly on any television set.  However, when I use the same cable on my iPhone 4 I get audio but no video.
I suspect that Apple has crippled the video out for some reason.  Please tell me I'm wrong.

I am simply trying to watch NASA TV using my iPhone.  I used to get NASA TV from DirecTV, but you must now have HD DirecTV to get NASA TV. ( we still get 100 channels of infomercials however.)

I have a bad habit of asking questions that no one knows the answer to.
    Do I get a prize?

  • Video out to external display

Hello, Is there a way to get video out to an external display? I currently have a T5, but am getting a TX. Should be the same for each, though. Rregards, Karl
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Just a quick FYI...T5 and TX both have a "normal" 3.5mm audio jack.
Video will be a problem though.  It's a shame my cheap little Insignia media player can output Audio and Video via a simple cable.

  • How do you get the video out to TV to work on the iPhone 3GS

I cannot get the video out to TV to work on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1.1.
I am using the $40.00 apple composite AV cables and nothing seems to work. With the cables connected to tv input nothing shows up in general settings for video out. Or anywhere else for that matter. I have tried many different TV's, sometimes I get audio but never never ever video . Does anyone else have this problem or better yet the answer?

Thanks for responding to my question about not being able to get the video out to work on my iphone 3GS. In answer to your question i couldnt get any video to work at all. But, i do know what was wrong now. The whole problem was the brand new $40.00 set of apple composite AV cables i just bought was no good. This afternoon i took a trip to the nearest apple retail outlet (30 miles away) with phone and cables in hand. And after doing a little head scratching of their own they decided to try another set of cables, and low and behold the darn thing worked like a charm.I was very impressed by the service at the apple store even though i didnt buy either product from them. I wonder if there is a bad batch of cables floating around out there because it looks like other people out there are having the same problem, which is why i didnt really suspect the cables. Thanks again for responding.   Micdude001

  • Composite video out to TV

This may be a question easily answered but I don't pretend to have any knowledge in this area.
With my G5 iMac can I get a composite video out to plug it into my 42" Sony HDTV and if I did what sort of quality would it be? As in would it be High Definition and wide screen?
    Any helpful advice? Thanks!

Composite is generally the worst video-output you can get.
Quality is about that of a good S-VHS recorder, with colours that bleed over into eachother at the edges. Magnified on a 42" TV, this wouldn't look good, with red bleeding a lot and shimmers across bright colours.
It's better to use the S-VHS-output that's, I believe, also on the video-out adapter that Apple sells.
Some HDTV-capable TVs come with a VGA-input. If yours does too, you'd be better off buying the VGA-adapter instead. This will give you a higher resolution than possible with the Video-out adapter and no (or unnoticably little) colour bleed. The VGA-adapter is capable of supplying atleast 720p HDTV-images, but not in widescreen.
Currently, Apple has no HDTV-capable output system, although the Mac's videochip itself is capable of outputting it.
