Maverick 10.9 download. Command key makes the current page hide and return. How can I stop this?

Hello,
The Maverick update on my 2009 Mac caused the command key to cause the current page to hide. It sometimes stays in the side but mostly, after a delay, will return to the screen with the action completed. Such commands as Print, Copy, Paste, all of the Command shortcuts do this.
It is impossible to focus on the work since it disappears, delays and then returns.
How can I change this to act like the usual commands and just make the action occur instantly on the page as it rests on the screen?

It is a panel that pops up and the heading on the panel is 'Universal Access', it is actually just an image of a panel, you can't access it. I have checked keyboard shortcuts and none of them are assigned to the command key only

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure only the phone number is checked.

I have my Dad's apple ID etc, but he has an iphone and i have an Ipod Touch then on IMessage i can read all the messages he recieves and sends and he can read all the messages i send and recieve how do i stop this?

. You do not need a seperate Apple ID. One one device you just need to go to Settings>Messages and add another/different Messaging email address and delete the common Apple ID address. Also see:

You should be able to open both accounts.
I believe Hotmail T&C may expect you to have only one account, but possibly multiple alliases.
You may have problems opening two separate hotmail accounts at once in Firefox. Try using a new private browsing window for the second one. With any look that will separate them enough for you to use both at once.
(With other account holders permission.) I sometimes open my own and another persons hotmail account by that method.

I am trying to view pdfs but when i click on them lots and lots of tabs keep appearing at the top i've had 1000s,how can i stop this and how can i look at pdfs

I received an email from my power supplier,in it I must click on bill to view,it downloads and asks if I want to open it with internet explorer or something else,so I click on firefox.All it does is keeps opening loads and loads of tabs across the top,I've tried to close them at the last count I had managed to close over 1000 tabs but still cannot see my bill.my wife had the same she tried to open pdfs and got the same problem.So how can we view without problems files we receive in emails etc,and how do I get rid off this tab multipling itself? How to stop tabs re-opening after firefox crashes.........when it crashes and I have multiple tabs open, when re-starting firefox all of the tabs re-open too. How can I stop this?

Firefox crashes quite often, especially when I have multi tabs open. I usually have to use CTRL ALT DEL and end the process as Firefox stops responding.
My problem is not the crashing........it is the re-opening of the multiple tabs I had open, when normally it is one of them (not the home page) that caused the crash in the first place, so I cannot re-open firefox until I restart the pc, because every time I do it is the same story. Firefox tries to re-open all of the tabs and stops responding. I have looked in options but nowhere does it allow me to stop multiple tabs opening after a crash. If this continues, I will have to uninstall Firefox and stick to Chrome.

Set the pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.

That will allow you to deselect the tab(s) that you do not want to reopen, but will allow to reopen other tabs.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Each time I open firefox it creates a desktop short cut, which I then delete. Also, a window pop-ups asking for permission to run helper.exe. If I choose "NO" the shortcut is not created. How can I stop this?

I just updated my phone and now my phone is acting up. Now while playing my ipod music the sound fades in and out how can i get this to stop and play whole song?

ok so last night i finally decided to do the upgrade on my phone... well i guess BIG mistake.... now my phone is tripping.... my apps arent working right.... had to delete fb several times..... my photos wouldnt load back up....and my ipod music wouldnt upload for @ least 2 hours.... really krazy... well im frustrated cause i really wanted to listen to my music and when i was trying to do so my sound kept going in and out..... all by its self.... how in the world can i fix this problem?????? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Oh and i have tried resetting my phone several times with no such luck.....

When I make a pattern swatch, it moves. How can I stop this?

I understand that pattern swatches sit relevant to where they are made on the artboard. So I thought I could create one over the spot I want to fill with it (and avoid making lots of clipping masks). However, when I create the swatch, the pattern moves, and I can't seem to get it to align.
Have tried using the ~ key as suggested elsewhere (although on my PC this is on the # key so probably doesn't have the same effect?).

Each time I do it, it moves to another location. Doesn't seem to be any logic to it.
Would appreciate anyones wise input!

Whenever I apply the clipping mask, the shape contains no fill. Perhaps that is because it is a set of copy and a logo repeated in a line (this is a design for a lanyard). It's not that I am afraid to use it, I have tried and it doesn't work.
So if the pattern is relevant to the 0,0 position on the co-ordinate grid, how do you work that out? When you make it, the co-ordinates are relevant to the artboard, not the grid. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Flip the Ring/Silent switch. Make sure Vibrate when silent is off in Settings>Sound.
