Maverick Mail - How to have default where attachments are "View as Icons", and not to display entire document
When I attach files to Mail 7.3 it often displays the entire file, not the icon. I find this highly annoying. Yes, I can one-by-one right click on the document and instruct Mac to send the file as in icon only. But I would prefer Mavericks Mail to default to a convention where all attachments are icons, not viewable docs.
Any fix for this?
try this:
Open a Terminal window.
Type this (it must be exact): defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
hit return
restart mail.

I attached a .doc file to the message and it appeared as an icon, so I did not have to convert it. I attached a .jpg image — it appeared as a full image, but when I Command+clicked the image, the view as icon window did not appear on the screen. Likewise, I again checked the Mail Menu Bar, and did see 'View as icon.' Side note: I routinely use Mavericks Mail in Classic Mode, so I decided to try both modes. Same results in both modes. I checked my Mail Preferences, but couldn't find anything there, either. I'll continue to look around, but this has me stumped. Thanks for your assistance.

Default Mail attachments to "View As Icon"
Is there a way to default attachments to "View As Icon" instead of previewing them in Mail? Specifically MP3s, since there's no way to drag the preview player directly into iTunes. I know I can just right click to change, but I get a lot of emails with MP3s attached and need to pull them straight into playlists.

How to create interface where we can view metadata of several databases:
Oracle Apex should display metadata of this particular DB (later on we can include multiple DB’s)
a. Report should first display DB name
b. When clicked on DB name, should display 3 schemas
c. When clicked on 1 schema, should display tables – when clicked on each table,
should display various column names and its corresponding metadata.
(similarly for other schema’s also)
d. In short, it should be like a drill down report.
Help required for craeting like above.

I had an application reading from multiple schema's for reporting purposes..IN that case atleast we just would build the selects using a function reurning SQL select, so that we could have an application item with the selected schema they wanted to use to build into the select returned...
For forms, that would be an interesting idea, don't know how you can dynamically change the table owner name, since it is a drop down control in development..

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. Click the "down arrow" next to your name at the top right side of the page and click "Account." Enter your username and password and click "View Account" to log into your account information. Next to your Payment Type, click "Edit." Select the "None" button and click "Done." Confirm that your card has been removed by returning to the Apple account information screen. Under Payment Type, it should say that there is no credit card on file.

When I receive appointments by email and accept them they go into the enourage "on my mac" ical calendar which is not synced with mobileme. How do I change where appointments are put ?
Or how can I choose where the appointment is put ?
I use the mobileme sync services so the ical calendars that are synced are those in the "[email protected]" group.

NickActually you can't drag the appointment to ano calendar - its says "You can’t make changes to this invitation., Only the organiser can change this event"
Also if you double click on the received appointment and open the window the only calendars shown that you can select are the 'on my mac" ones, and not the sync'd ones.
Any ideas welcome !!

I have CS6 and CC installed on my mac when I'm using CS6 and use bridge CC activates how can I set this to only work on one and not the other
If you want Bridge CS6 to open when using Photoshop CS6, you must quit Bridge CC.
Then File menu > Browse in Bridge will bring up Bridge CS6.
If Bridge CC is already open, The File > Browse in Bridge for Photoshop CS6 will use Bridge CC and Bridge CS6 will not open.

You can select only the albums that you want to sync in the photos tab of iTunes when you sync your iPad. If you are using iPhoto it is very easy. Simply select iPhoto in the Sync Photos From heading and then select the albums that you want to sync.
If you are using iTunes 11 - enable the side bar by going to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes Menu. This explains how to sync photos.

how can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2? I need to print a engineering print with lot of information but information is too small in letter size and I don't have a plotter.
Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Unfortunately, the recording & movie industry does not respect the rights of the people who make them money, and thus you can only use the paid-for content in ways they see fit. Even if I lived in a bunker where no one else could possibly see the movie I paid for, therefor I'm not 'sharing it illegally', I would still not be allowed in a blue moon to copy that movie to DVD for TV viewing. Someone will tell you to get an AppleTV. How about Apple give us one for free? Until this changes, people wanting to use their content in multiple locations will continue to download music & movies via torrents, legally or illegally.

And i have other question, in print label we have an option to auto rotate to feet in page to have the image using the maximum area in the page (auto rotate, zoom etc), its possible to change the orientation of the rotation to be always in the other direction?The Muvos are USB Mass Storage devices and do not have the ability to display track information based upon ID3 tags.
The Zens all read and display track info based upon ID3 tag information that is either gathered from an online source or entered by the end-user.
If you want the track information displayed instead of the ID3 tag information, you could edit the ID3 tags and rename the title to whatever you have as the file name. Not sure why your file names would differ so much from the ID3 tag info though, almost all of my content has the same name for the filename as it does on the ID3 tag title.
