Maverick spend
Can anyone point me in the direction of the maverick spend report? What's the code for it?
Thanks in advance
Sorry, let me make myself more clear. I thought I had seen a standard report available in SAP that showed all invoice information where the date of the invoice was prior to the creation date of the purchase order. This would show cases where the PO was created simply in order to pay the invoice. I thought it was called a maverick spend report.
I'm not a programmer, just a user, trying to get some useful data out of the system.
Thanks in advance for your help.

How do I install mavericks on a macbook with out the app store?
Okay, so this has been very annoying lately. So, long story short, I had to erase my HDD on my Macbook Pro which erased my operating system, and I do not have an OS X install disk. Is there a way to get OS X Mavericks with out having to go to the app store? I'm running OS X 10.5.8 Darwin on a 2007 iMac. So, I do not have access to the App Store. I am only 16 and I don't have a credit card to spend the 20 dollars on upgrading the OS to 10.6.0 Snow Leopard. Is this possible to get Mavericks so I can put it on a USB and install it, or no? The Macbook Pro is just a regular Mid 2012 13 inch with 4gb RAM, an Intel 2.5 i5 Processor, and a 500gb hard drive. Please help, I do not want to have this amazing notebook hanging around that I can not use. Thanks.
If this is for a 2012 MBP, the you can do this:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer. -
Kernel Panic Nvidia Quadro Pro 4000 CC14 MAC PRO 10.9.4 mavericks
I get kernels panics constantly when using CC14 lightroom and photoshop.. And this is causing me to loose thousands of dollars. I have searched for months have lost thousands of dollars in work, have trued to contact support only to be sent to community forums which i get no response...o
THEREFORE.....
Allow me to waste more time by contacting this unresponsive company.
i constantly get Kernel Panics when using CC14 associated with my NVIDIA Quadro 4000 2048 while using cc14 photoshop and lightroom since I updated to Maverick 10.9.4.
I have been searching for fixes for months, i have updated everything, every driver, and this has costed me THOUSANDS of dollars in pay i am unable to receive because my %^&* computer keeps crashing.
Now i am pissed! I have consulted APPLE and even after pushing me up to the top level. they still read off a piece of paper. ! i just wanted to go back to osx before mavericks which i was having NO ISSUES but no one seem to have a clue at apple how to even turn one on.
1. i am NOT doing a master restore and I NEVER had a problem before Mavericks and CC14!!!
2. Every driver is updated every firmware is updated
3. there is NOTHING RUNNING IN HTE BACKGROUND
4. i did an smc and reset pram
5. ran disk utility -- no problems
6. searched for answers for months.
7. and by the way..... photoshop cc14 does not save your work on a crash. it saves what you already saved
I AM TIRED OF WASTING MY TIME TRYING TO GET ANSWERS WHEN I ONLY GET IGNORED.
this is an issue with my nvidia quadro pro 4000 video card and -- adobe and - mavericks.
MY system is high end, mac pro 5,1 Processor 2 x 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon Late 2010 20 gig ram, quadro pro 4000 and an APPLE SSD TS512B
solid state
and i spent 10 gran on this system. I am a professional and this is my BUSINESS... my only income. not a kid playing games.
The video card was over a 1000.00! Nvidia? ADOBE?
This needs to be fixed. this is my livelihoodThanks for responding....of course I mean adobe. A community forum is NOT a company.
I read the link to the thread and this person says an application CANNOT cause kernel panics -- well Apple begs to differ. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14063
I have my own photography studio, ive spent over a half million dollars on my education (2 masters degrees) my equipment, and traveling the world to various workshops. I spend some evening researching new technology to stay on top of my craft but what I dont do and dont have time to do is follow forums regularly.
Therefore i dont know that this person has repeatedly said the same thing over and over in different threads about applications causing KP.
You suggested that I take my trouble shooting somewhere else...trust me this is not the first place ive tried to get answer.s I have been trying to resolve this issue since i updated to 10.9.4 and CC 14 and Nvidia Quadro pro 4000. It has been months of phone calls research, forums, talking to anyone i know that knows anything and I have lost thousands of dollars. My digital lab ran perfect before the updates.
so......
First...I DISAGREE with the guy in the thread because what he wrote is just his opinion. It doesnt matter wjho he works for, it a person converses a fact with NO REFERENCES then it looses credibility. I always include a reference when I make a statement to anyone
second: as i said in my discussion -- i have done everything and the only time i get kernel panics is when using photoshop - nothing else running in the background, and the issue is with the video card drivers , 10.9.4 and photoshop and lightroom CC14.
lastly; I know my video card is fine because Ive had photoshoots where i tethered (as I alwasy do) to Phocus software for my Hasselblad H4d and there is never a crash or kernel panic issue. ever.
I ONLY GET KERNEL PANICS WHEN I USE ADOBE PHOTOSHOP OR LIGHTROOM CC14 AND IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED SINCE I UPDATED TO 10.9.4 AND CC14
apple told me to do a restore -- they were just reading me what they were supposed to say. -
Deskjet 3050 J610 will not install on Mavericks or new Router
I have had a deskjet 3050 J610 for a couple years and it has worked fine with our MacBook Pro (with the exception of updates) . We recently restored our MacBook and added Mavericks. We also have a new netgear modem/router. We can not connect the printer to our network or to the laptop wirelessly. Here is what has happened so far after spending hours attempting everything we could find online with no sucess......
-I can print from the Mac with a USB cable connected to printer
-I've restored the printers default settings
-Printed the HP Network Configuration Page and it shows our Network
It says my HP printer cannot find the access point.
Everything passed except network name found....this failed
Network status-Offline
embedded web server-http://0.0.0.0 I can't even get to the webpage
network name (SSID)-HPJ610a.0798A0
ip address-not applicable
The blue light for wireless flashes on printer.
When I go to Wireless Menu it says wireless radio is on.
My next option is Settings, Under Settings I have Disable, WPS and Defaults.
Under WPS I get Push Button or PIN......neither worked.
Printer DOES NOT have a wireless setup wizard!
I have checked for updates on the Mac and do not have any (Original CD not compatible with Mavericks). When I go to System Preferences-Print/Scan, it shows the printer as disabled. I tryed downloading software & drivers from HP's website, but when I go to my Applications menu, there is not an HP folder/icon.
PLEASE HELP!!Hi,
Currently a full feature software is not available for your products for Mavericks, however there are some other workarounds to connect the printer to your network.
Please follow these steps to create a temporary ad-hoc connection and then set the wireless connection through the printer's EWS page:
On the printer click on Wireless, then select Reset Wireless.
Turn the printer Off and back On.
If the wireless light is not blicking, click the wireless button and turn the Wireless Radio On.
From your Mac click the Wireless icon and then on Join Other Networks.
Click on Show network and connect to the printer SSID which includes J610 as part of its name.
Note: Allow 1-2 minutes to fully establish the temporary connection.
Open Safary, then click the Bonjour menu and select the listed Deskjet 3050.
Note: if there is no Bonjour option at the top menu, click Safary > Preferences > Advanced and check both of the Include Bonjour options at that screen. click OK and the Bonjour menu will appear.
Go to Network / Wireless and follow the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your home network.
On your Mac click the WiFi icon and reconnect the Mac to your home network.
Now both your Mac and the printer are connected to your network, go to Printers & Scanners and add the printer by clicking the plus sign.

Shlomi

Trackpad and trackpad button often unresponsive in Mavericks
This is an offshoot of discussion about a mouse right click not always working since upgrading to Mavericks.
I said using the trackpad and trackpad button on my MBP often doesn't effect the computer; I have to repeat those actions multiple times before anything happens.
Drew Reece offered some suggestions for my issues:
First, I came to Mavericks from Snow Leopard because I'd tried Lion and Mt. Lion but found my old laptop (early 2008 MBP v4.1) ran way, too slow.
Before going whole hog on Mavericks I read a lot, then installed it on an external drive (spinning, connected with FW800) and played with it for a few days. I used Migration Assistant to make the move, which segregated software that was not compatible. Mavericks was slow for a few days, but did gradually speed up. However, that was when I first ran into the issue with the trackpad and button not registering with the computer's display. I also ran into the problems with Mail not liking my 3 Gmail accounts but actually solved that using by booting in safe mode, thanks to another poster here. Not sure why - I attributed it to Spotlight indexing the drive - everything about the computer was very slow and extremely funky while in safe mode; no way I would want to judge the OS based on performance during that boot. It was awful.
I did update a lot of applications to Mavericks-ready versions while I was using 10.9 on that external drive.
When I felt comfortable, I wiped my NBP hard drive and did a clean install of Mavericks, followed by repeating the same software updates. Then used Super Duper to just bring over User folders from that external drive. Because SD restores the Spotlight state there was no "break-in" period so Mavericks ran reasonably fast right away. I wasn't ready for iCloud deleting my Address Book data but, fortunately, I replaced everything from the external drive's Users/me/Library/Application Support/Address Book folder.
So, per Drew's suggestion, I ran EtreCheck:

Sorry about the length of this but I wanted to addres all Drew's suggestions. And I'm still seeing those intermittent trackpad/button issues.
- thanksI'll try to break down each of these sections & point out any bad signs below.
Hopefully the color helps…

Red items are loaded at the system level
Blue items are loaded at the user level
The other stuff gets loaded into apps like Safari - they are internet plugins.
Cleanup:
All the usual caveats apply, backup before you modify the system, delete the items (or move them to another disk or folder if you are worried about deleting the wrong thing) but ensure the originals are gone or updated.
Use the Finders "Go menu > Go to Folder…" to open the hidden ~/Library (your users library).
Reboot for the system changes to take effect.
How to find updates:
The critical launchd jobs & kernel extensions use reverse domain notation e.g.
at.obdev.littlesnitchd.plist means look at http://obdev.at for 'LittleSnitch' updates
You want to try to update or remove all the system level items.
Startup Items: Stored in /Library/StartupItems/
Startup Items have been discontinued by Apple since Mac OS 10.4. They are responsible for making changes at a system level. Remove them all or spend time ensuring ALL related software is up to date. You need a very good reason to have anything installed in here.
Kernel Extensions: Stored in /Library/Extensions/
Kernel Extensions also load third party code, but they insert it into the 'core' of the OS. These can be safe, however you must ensure the related tools or apps are up to date, otherwise the system is basically built upon quicksand. Remove them all & see if the OS works better.
Your LittleSnitch is out of date for example, how about hardware monitor or Rogueamoeba's software?
Launchd jobs: several types
LaunchAgents - Stored in /Library/LaunchAgents
LaunchDaemons - Stored in /Library/LaunchDaemons
User LaunchAgents - Stored in ~/Library/LaunchAgents
These are all background jobs, they are not necessarily bad, but if they are loading old code it could be doing untold damage to the performance & stability of the entire OS. Focus on the System level jobs (the ones inside /Library - the system level) also remove ['failed'] jobs.
EtreCheck gives a status on launchd jobs…
[loaded] - a running job
[not loaded] - jobs that are set not to run, basically harmless, remove them unless you plan to use the associated software (if it is up to date)
[failed] - jobs in a crashed or unknown state, it could be forking processes or using all the system resources, remove these.
User login items:
Applications and helpers that are managed inside 'Systems Preferences > Users and groups > Login Items tab'.
These are loaded at the 'User level', consider removing all of them whilst you troubleshoot. When you decide to re-add them ensure the software is up to date.
3rd Party Preference Panes: & Internet Plug-ins:
/Library/PreferencePanes/ and ~/Library/PreferencePanes/
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
Once again these items all must be up to date, or remove them from your system. If the prefpanes manage additional software use the uninstaller or see the developers site for uninstall instructions.
Read the list of Internet plug-ins carefully, there are often duplicate Flash player versions that won't help stability, it's just wasted space too.
Don't forget to also update Safari's extensions in it's preferences (if you have any).
Re-run EtreCheck after cleaning up to see if items have returned (some apps will reload the background jobs when re-opened, so either update or remove the software).
Hope that isn't too daunting, the OS should be better if there are less old items running at the system level. -
Mavericks Mail Kernel System Has Run Out of Application Memory
I have a new Mavericks late 2013 MBP. When I got the computer, I used Migration Assistant to transfer everything from my late 2008 MacBook to the new MBP. Now when I launch Mail, my memory use skyrockets and within a minute or so, I get a "run out of application memory" error message. Soon after the computer stops working until I reboot. Activity Monitor shows Memory Pressure at its redline max, Virtual Memory at about 70 GB, Swap Used 20 GB, Compressed 10 MB. The processes using all the memory are kernel-task 10 GB and mds_stores 5 GB. However, Spotlight is fully indexed and mds is inactive until I launch Mail.
Interestingly, it happens even if I quit Mail immediately after launching it - the Mail window doesn't even need to open; the memory ust still climbs. But it only happens with Mail; all other applications work fine. Also, it does not happen if I boot in Safe Mode or if I log in using a different user account.
I have spend many hours on the phone with the Apple tech guys, they sent log files to Apple engineering, and none can figure this out. Their solution is to work around by creating a new user and transfer files over - not an elegant solution...
I ran the diagnostic suggested by Link Davis; results copied below. I also ran the Etresoft diagnostic both before and after launching Mail. Results also copied below.
I am guessing that a 3rd party application in my user area causes Spotlight to loose control, when Mail is launched, perhaps trying to index 10,000 emails, but I really have no idea!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

You could boot in SafeBoot (shift key held through startup) and run Disk Utility> repair disk permissions. That can tell you a few things about your hard disk drive, capacities, and it may not hurt to repair disk permissions. Restart normally when done.
Or try & boot from the Install DVD and use the version of Disk Utility in there to attempt to 'repair disk' while the HDD is unmounted. Then choose Startup manager to boot from the HDD and ignore the DVD on a restart.
Is your computer as listed, a PowerPC (pre-intel architecture)
Apple product, with a G4/G5 CPU from before 2006? If so,
a host could move the discussion from this Intel area.
Without more information, a failure of traction results from speculation.
Is your computer still running OS X 10.5.3, or is that 10.5.8+ now?
Good luck & happy computing!

after installing maverick i get this message when i try to open itunes:Unmark the 32bits modus-but i have unmarked it several times! The new iTunes requires 64bits modus so what shall i do?
I upgraded my 2007 iMac (20") to Maverick. Should never have done this! Lost mail, lost my mail archive, lost numerous programs/applications, lost all my installed hardware, spend 4 days on getting it running again with the (supreme) help of Apple Care. However it should not have happened at all!
iMac Computers with less than 4Gb of internal memory (as explained by Apple Care), or less than (estimated) 150Gb of free disc-space should not upgrade! Simple as that and the App Store should warn you about that and not simply let you pick up your free copy of Maverick! -
MacBook Pro Stalls/Running slow since Mavericks Installation
On the advice of the more experienced here is a new thread.
Since installing Mavericks my MBP has gone from pretty much an instant response to requests, to stalling, the spinning pinwheel, longer startup and shutdown times, as well as slower access to websites (Chrome and Safari, though Safari appears slower).
I have been advised to run EtreCheck when I first joined a post regarding the same problem. I posted the results and was advised to work through some of the issues. This is the initial test result and the very much appreciated advice.
NOTE - EXTENSIVE TEXT TO FOLLOW.
I don't have a specific fix from your report, but I can point out what other users have had issues with.

Red is the items I'd look at these are mostly 'system level' - they can alter a lot in the OS. Check the developers website, update or remove the apps if the developer doesn't say it supports 10.9 or if you can live without them.
Soundflower is out of date & it is a 'kernel extension', the kernel is the core of the OS - you don't want any old code running here.
The installer has a removal tool too https://code.google.com/p/soundflower/ so update or remove it if you don't use it.
Update or remove Paragon's NTFS tool, it is running at a system level & it's background jobs seem to be in a 'problem state', it also has something running in the kernel.
Adobe has an updater running, try to ensure Adobe's apps are all up to date, just incase they have stopped checking. Repeat with Google's apps, just launch the apps & look in the 'App menu' or the Help menu for updates. These companies tend to reinstall the updaters if you try to delete them, so there it little you can do but keep the apps updated.
It's odd that all your User Launch Agents: are not loaded, these are background jobs that start on login (if they are in a loaded state). The same principle applies, update or remove the related apps if they are not needed.
CleanMyMac is a concern - there are lots of posts here claiming it can break the OS - it can help you to remove files that are installed by Apple which is not the best idea. I am unconvinced that running 'maintenance utilities' all the time is a good idea, however the app removal tool may be OK for cases where a developer doesn't have an uninstaller. 'Cleaner apps' use RAM & can spend time scanning files which can slow other tasks. Search here for varied opinions on CleanMyMac. I also use ClamXAV, ensure that is upto date & so check it's engine & rules are current.
The purple items are 'user level' items (run on login of your account).
There is a simple way to see if your issues are because of 'user level' items, create a new test user account & login as that user. If the Mac is stable you can assume it is something within your 'user items'.
Check that you need the Login Items running every time you login. They are listed in System Preferences> Users & groups > select your account… login items tab.
You appear to have 3 LogMeIn internet plugins installed - is Safari behaving OK or running slow? I would consider removing most plugins & then installing them as you need them. You can look inside /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ to remove them manually.
~/Library is your 'home library' Use the Finders Go Menu > Open Folder… and enter ~/Library to reveal it. Apple hid this Library folder.
I'd be tempted to remove the Java applet plugin - old Java is a real secuity risk & Safari has probably disabled this for you already.
There seems to be 2 Facebook plugins installed (probably inside your ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/). Remove the oldest one & look for the newest release. Update the Safari Extension if it needs it too.
The Preference Panes are installed in /Library/PreferencePanes/ and ~/Library/PreferencePanes/. Open System prefs & launch each third party pref pane (the bottom rows) & check for updates if possible. These also have an ability to modify the OS, so any errors could effect everything. You can usually right click (or ctrl+click) to remove them from the preferences (it removes them from the OS, but may leave any libraries or extra tools behind - see if the developer has removal instructions).
I see you have Plex installed, does this run very often? I find it can drag a Mac to a slow crawl when it is indexing. I suspect Connect360 may do similar things, but I don't really know for sure what it does .
MenuTab for Facebook seems to be doing something with RAM & CPU, update or remove if you don't need it.
That may all be daunting, but it should help. Start with the system level items, and then look at updating the other items. You may find things improve after a cleanup & a reboot.
This was extremely helpful and I have gone as far as my knowledge will allow for now. I did make a bootable clone of the main HDD prior to doing anything, and now there seems to be little improvment following the suggestions made. Also along the way MacFuse was deleted and well as Flip4Mac and NTFS.
Things are far from perfect though and the MBP still stalls and is performing very poorly.
I have run another EtreCheck, results below;

Any advice on these specific speed related issues and how to return to the "old ways" would be very much appreciated.

I would un-install CleanMyMac. It has caused problems for others and in some cases has gone so far as to wreck their system.

Maverick 10.9.2 upgrade facetime camera not working any more
Hei
After upgrading to maverick 10.9.2 on my iMac 2009, the camera was not found in Facetime and all other products using the camera, like skype.
I phoned apple support, but the guy told me that the camera was defect or I had to re-installed maverick again or/and re-format the harddisk if this didn't helped.
Nothing of the above helped.
After spending several days of finding ways to fix the problem, I took my old MacBookPro, where I had Maverick 10.9.1 installed.
I tried FaceTime, And IT WORKED, so I am 100% sure it worked before the upgrade.
I went to App Store and installed maverick 10.9.2.
After installation, I logged in, and started FaceTime.
AND NOW THE Camera could not be seen by FaceTime.
And NO SUPPORT, The camera was NOT defect before the upgrade, it WAS the upgrade to 10.9.2 which crashed it. And now I have 2 dead cameras on 2 computers.
My MacBookPro is 17" 2.4GHZ
Processor 2,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Hukommelse 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Grafik NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB
Serienummer W874329TX94
Software OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)
Note:
The camera could not be found under System-Hardware-camera
My question is:
When is apple comming with a fix? It is urgent, because I use skype a lot for my businessThis is the response from AirDisplay ==>>>
Hello,
My apologies for this issue. It's a bug we are aware of. It stems from an issue with OS X. Certain Macs that have a third party video driver installed will exhibit this issue. So, it's not just Air Display that causes this problem but other apps like Display Link, AirParrot, etc. will also have this issue. Apple has contacted us regarding the problem and they're looking into it. It's not actually something we or those other third party developers can fix. Apple has to address the issue with OS X. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

Can't Access Safari after upgrading to Mavericks
I upgraded to Mavericks the other day and since then I have not been able to get on Safari or open any .pdf files. In addition, windows keep popping in asking for passwords that I have never seen before. I need my computer to work! Any suggestions?
You can spend a lot of time troubleshooting your problems, or you can cut to the chase and re-install Mavericks. Reboot from the Mavericks Recovery Drive by holding down Command+R or the option key when you reboot. Then from the Recovery Drive you can download and install Mavericks (OS X 10.9.10). Hopefully that will restore full functionlity to Safari and PDF files. As to the password requests can you be more specific in what passwords are requested?

How can I set up first gen airport after upgrading to Mavericks ?
I recently upgraded to Mavericks and the latest version of Airport Utility (6.3.2) and now get an error message when trying to change settings on older Airport Expresses - "This version of AirPort Utility doesn’t support this base station. Go to AirPort Service and Support for more information." The older versions of the Airport Utility software do not appear to work in Mavericks.
I have two Expresses (both are used for streaming music) and want to change some basic settings on one of them so it connects to a new network, but cannot access either.
Thanks for any helpI made my complaint:
Angry that you broke my ability to configure my airport with Mavericks.
Angry that I had to jump through a lot of hoops to find that out.
1. Airport service and report (instead of that link you could have put It won't work)
2. Several links from there.
3. read through many pages to try to find the software or firm ware that might help.
4. Finally came to the conclusion that there was no combination of 802.11g and Mavericks.
5. Went to community support where one of you customers revealed "It won't work"
6. Googled it and found a page that would make it work.
7. Decided I would just buy a new router.
8. Will go spend money angrily to update the thing.

How can I install virtualized mavericks on Mac? Parallels or VMWare?
I need to use safari(mac) to test my website, However safari is also my default browser.
It will cause some problems while debugging, because safari is also my default browser, I need to ignore a lot of non-development http requests/responses data.
Also, sometimes, I need to empty the cache to ensure I got a fresh installed safari to test, that would be very inconvenient if safari is my default browser.
Usually, I use Virtualbox to install Windows/Linux on my Mac to test different browsers.
For safari, I hope I can do it in similar way. That said, to have a virtualized Mac vm on my mac, so I can have an independent safari browser for test.
I don't want to spend a lot of time to investigate how to do it on Virtualbox, and I don't know if Virtualbox figure out a way to do it now or not.
It seems Parallels and VMWare provides easier way to install mac mavericks vm on mac.
for example, I can see this
http://kb.parallels.com/118806
I am wondering if Apple suggests an official or easier way for developer to test safari. To buy Parallels or VMWare?I've attempted to install Mavericks as a VM in BOTH.
Fusions was so "choppy" and slow, it was impossible to use, and it wouldn't run bigger than 1024X768, or go "Full Screen". Pretty useless with dual 1920X1080 monitors.
Parallels was slightly more manageable, but I still had performance and resolution problems. While I could go bigger than 1024X768, the resolutions it would allow were 1600X1200 and 1920X1400, with No "Full Screen" option available either. Those sizes left me unable to access my dock or the bottom 120 to 320 pixels of my desktop or any open window.
Installing was no problem. I used my 10.8 installer, and once I had the VM up & running, either the AppStore or a previously downloaded Mavericks installer will do.
Note: BOTH VMS were set up with 2 cores and 4Gb RAM so, it wasn't a matter of resources. Mavericks just doesn't perform that well as a VM yet. I'm pretty sure VMWare and Parallels need to make app updates to handle it better.

Installing Mavericks on a "non-supported" computer
I have a 2007 Mac Pro. I am stuck with 10.7.5.
Last month I downloaded GameAgent and ran it. According to the results, my Mac Pro will run Mavericks if I upgrade my video card.
Before I spend $250, does anyone know if it could possibly be this simple?
The Mac Pro meets the requirements for 64bit, available Ram, processor and speed, and # of cores (based on the Game Agent listed requirements.)
Does anyone have advice or opinion? Yeah, I can buy a new computer but would like to avoid that until I am out of school.
Thanks14GB, Dual-Core Xeon, and 2.66GHz.
I think you are probably right. I haven't seen any store that allows returns on boards, video or otherwise.
I am amazed at how well the computer runs now. I have had no issues with any apps I run (other than Safari!!!) and I update everything I use. Logic is the only app I use a lot that I have to run on my Macbook Pro only. -
How do I zoom in to the desktop in mavericks?
One of my favorite features (on older OS X versions) was the ability to zoom into anything displayed on the screen by holding down control and sliding up on the mouse or trackpad.
Now I discover I can no longer do that. I think Mavericks discontinued everything I liked and added new "cutesy" features that I don't care for.
How do I get back all of those nice features I had grown accustomed to?
Hey Apple! It isn't broke, so PLEASE! Stop trying to fix it!To answer my own question, I found the solution in System Preferences>Accessibility and turned the feature back on.
I don't know why, but I have to spend half of my life now searching through preferences and turning on features that I want.

Well, I have this printer too, and I get the following response from the System Prefs Printers and Scanners when I select to add this printer:
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer’s manufacturer for the latest software."
When you go to the Epson website for this particular printer it says:
"The latest drivers for this product are available only via Apple's Software Update."
And finally, when you go to Software Update it says: "No updates available"
I second OMT8.
Yes, the driver file at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398 allowed me to finally install my printer, but does Apple have _any idea_ how long it takes to download a 1.08GB file over a 1.5mbps DSL connection?
Never mind how much of my pricey new SSD is being consumed by the resulting 1.80GB of driver files all for _one_ printer driver that should maybe occupy 200K?
Or that the primary article on OS X printer drivers (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669) -- which does indicate that the Artisan 830 is supported -- does not mention or link to the driver file that's needed to make it work?
Or what a complete violation of Apple's "it just works" gestalt it is to be confronted with the above Catch-22 and to have to search the web and then go through all of the above to make a new laptop talk to a two-year-old printer?
Yes, my printer now works, and yes, Apple's Support Communities were instrumental in getting to this point. But spending all morning (plus download time) getting a printer driver installed tastes way too much like I paid for Apple and got Microsquish.

TS1967 Can not play any music in iTunes
I am running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and the latest version of iTunes 11.0.2 I cannot run any of my music. If I click on a song to play it nothing happens. This happens whether I'm in the iTunes store or off my own music library. Is it a compatability issue?
