Mavericks and Android Sync - Not working
How do I sync my contacts, calendar and mail with my new Android device?
1. Have a gmail account - its set up on the droid and in OSX
2. I've tried the standard stuff recommended - not working.
I need everything to sync in the cloud like with iCloud.
I'm pretty good with this stuff - not sure why its not working.

Buy an iPhone, everything else is 3rd party, including your Android phone.
SmoothSync works, that's your route.

To Apple engineers: Home sharing and wifi sync not working after fresh install
Have been using wifi sync and home sharing on my Macbook 5,1 since its early debut.
Since Macbook 5,1 is old i am using it to stream MP4 files to my Apple TV.
The functionality has been working fine throughout the OSX iterations; then came Mavericks.
Now my iTunes library will not sync with Apple TV3, nor will my iPhone 5/iPad 3 wirelessly sync with my iTunes library.
For some reason since upgrading to Mavericks the thing wont work under normal boot.
Restarting in Safe mode solves the problem. Assuming it was some erroneous configuration i went through troubleshooting steps to try and resolve it.
First i uninstalled any third party apps.
Then i repaired, went through Maintenance and Cleaning of the system using Onyx
Then i tried manually removing third party boot kexts from the System Library and user Library
Then i tried reinstalling OSX via the recovery partition (cmd+r on boot time)
Finally i tried a full system erase and reinstall via an external bootable Mavericks USB.
After all these steps the problem persists.
There should be no hardware failure since it works fine in Safe mode and doing a clean install verifies that there are no third party conflicts with the system since iTunes was executed immediately after booting up for the first time.
This raises the concern that there seems to be some sort of system kext misconfiguration by the Apple engineers.
When executing iTunes the following errors are being displayed in the system log (via Console):

Outlook Calender and iphone sync not working properly (windows 7 os)
I try to sync through itunes and contacts work fine, but the calender only comes through partially. Single events work fine, but events (on outlook) which extend more than a day are completely ignored by itunes sync and don't show up on the iphone calender.
Any ideas?

Clearing history alone was not enough. I had to clear the history THEN reboot the phone. My events seem to be coming though now. Interesting though... on events coming from iphone to outlook the right click mouse menu is disabled. If I want to delete, edit or alter that event in outlook I have to left click and actually open it. -
.mac and phone sync not working!! Endless sync that endsin error
Sync with .mas takes an age but ends in error, still the isync icon in the menu bar continues to turn.
Likewise the isync function to sync with my phone which previously synced seemlessly and without issue is doing the same. It's not establishing a connection but the sync 'wheel' continues to turn.
Any ideas?
I've repaired permissiones, restarted and used disk warrior to rebuild the disk. All to no avail
I'm using 10.4.7,. which I installed when it first came out and had no problem initially.I have had the same problem for the past 24 hrs but it is now fixed. I don't know if this will work for you but just in case here goes.
I had just done an erase and install of Tiger and I managed to get 1 sync happen after, but then it stopped recognising my computer to sync. In the Advanced pane of DotMac in system preferences my computer was there - i deregistered and re-registered - but nothing seemed to happen when I clicked the Sync wheel other than the wheel turning. In the Console (via Application/Utilities) I noticed that the DotMacTranslator.log which usually showed any syncing activity showed absolutely nothing, as if it had not noticed that syncing was happening. In the DotMacSync.log I kept getting the recurrent message below everytime I hit the Sync button.

So somehow something was telling my computer there was nothing to sync and to stop syncing but the wheel had not got the message that syncing had stopped.
Eventually I decided to simply copy over my iCal Calendar and Address book from the other computer (ie. by choosing File and Back up Database in each of iCal and Address book, moving the database files into the computer I wanted to copy over to and opening the files, saying "yes" to reverting to the data in the file). Then I went to Entourage and enabled synchronisation via Preferences in there and suddenly everything everything started working again. No problem since. I'm not sure if it was the act of copying over a new database from the other computer or the Entourage syncing, but I would suspect the former since I can't explain why the latter would work.
My suggestion if you haven't already done so is to open the Console when you are syncing and observe what happens in the ~/Library/Logs area during the process as I've found that doing this, experimenting with various configurations while observing that effect in the Console and lots of patients usually sorts out the sync problems that I encounter. Mavericks and Dual Display not working as documented
Hi all. Ok..something a little wierder here for my dual display scenario. I have two Samsung Syncmaster 2443 monitors. 15" MBP Retina purchased this year. Running in Clamshell Mode.
I can get dual monitors happening (extended) but I cannot get the menu bar to come over as well. As mentioned in other posts, I need to tick the box in Mission Control "Displays have seperate spaces". The only problem is, that particular menu item is NOT there. All I have is the other 4 items. So how is it that this menu item does not exist on my installation?
In this current setup, each time I reboot the display's also get reveresed, which is really annoying. I have to reboot twice to get back to my original layout.
Any idea's?
Tksyou're faking out your machine to THINK it has 2 real displays and you expect Keynote to work? Keynote is THE most intense app I've ever seen for screen drawing. It basically takes over your entire machine to do its work. It doesn't surprise me that that trick doesn't work with it.
My guess is you're going to have to wait till you have the actual projector and adapter to test your dual screen setup. -
Wifi Sync not working on iOS 6 and iTunes 10.7 with iPhone 4S
I am running Windows 7 64-bit but WiFi Sync is not working on either my iPhone 4S or my wife's iPhone 4S. Worked fine before upgrading. All settings look correct in iTunes 10.7 and on our iPhones 4S's. Already tried uninstalling iTunes and all associated Apple programs (Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, etc) and reinstalling iTunes but no help. Temporarily disabling Norton Firewall did not help. If I hook up either of our two 4S phones via USB wire, they Sync and Backup fine. Just WiFi Sync not working. Can't initiate sync from iPhones because button is ghosted stating it is waiting for PC to be present. Phones don't show up under Devices in iTunes unless hard-wired via USB cable. Any suggestions?

The file to download the app for Android is not working from my phone--it says that the file isn't there. However it does see the one for the Iphone (even though it can't use it). I've tried it multiple times and continue to get the same message: "NOT FOUND The requested item could not be found". I also tried through the Market application on the phone but ended-up with the same result.
I'm very computer literate and am pretty sure the problem is on your end. If this is the case then no one can download the app. I considered that perhaps because it's still in Beta that it was removed due to some other type of software issue. I would really like to use Firefox on my new Droid (2.0); when with this be available?Firefox will not appear in the Market for most phones with incompatible hardware. Even on some supported devices, a bug in the Market software prevents Firefox from showing up. This may be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose "Uninstall" you can uninstall the update, and then search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.

How do I stop the download of Maverick on my MacBookPro? I started downloading then discovered that 2008 Word and Excel do not work with Maverick. I have too many files in the 2008 version to upgrade them at this time. I just need instructions in non technical terms to stop the Maverick download.
I did the same as Tapmr and have paused the "upgrade". So am I to understand that the upgrade only downloads and will not automatically install it? I am an extreme novice here, and cannot afford any issues after I upgrade/download. I don't know how to make a clone copy as you suggested either.
I need assurance that if the upgrade is allowed to continue that I will be able to delete the upgrade downloaded and continue on as before with my regular system. -

Just bought my white iphone4 and after syncing with my computer the speaker doesn't work now. I tried reset and even restore and still does not work. Do I have to exchange?
Make sure the silent switch is not set to mute. If you can see the red dot, it is on mute.
It may think you have headphones plugged in, try plugging and unplugging a wired headset a few time.
The next step would be to restore as new.
If none of that works, a warranty exchange would be the resolution. -

Communication Express seems to work fine but the adb

I Do not clearly understand but as far as i have understood that if you want your iTunes playlist added to your iPod nano or touch automatically then you have to delete the existing songs in your iPod device and then drag the whole playlist to your device.
And next time when you add a song to the particular playlist in your Mac or pc, it will automatically be copied to your device when you plug in via usb anytime. -
Firefox sync not working correctly
I set up sync and used my favorite gmail address (sun-).
It seems I should have used the gmail address I set up my google/gmail account with ( allu-)
Now it seems I have sync on my computer, and my tablet, but I'm not sure. I know this sounds weird, but when I have sync set up on my computer, and I go to pair a device (my tablet) I have sync numbers in both my computer, and my tablet, and I am unable to erase the 3 boxes to add in numbers to either device.
I still would like to add my android phone, but I would like to fix this problem.
I guess what I would like to do is delete/uninstall my 'sync' account so I can start new with my google/gmail account (allu-).
I thought i did this, but the same thing came up, numbers in both sync set up pages on my computer, and tablet.
So maybe I have this entirely wrong, and I need to look at it from another perspective, but whatever reason, it is becoming frustrating because I need this, want this, and can't make it happen. So I would like, no need some help with this, so I can coordinate all my devices with Firefox.
I am thinking this is possible with what I read, but like I said I am definitely missing something, or I have made some mistake, that can't be fixed, because that is what I seem to have done. HELPThat seemed to work. I have not tried to sync my other devices yet, but I am hopeful.
It almost looks like you are saying the Aurora version 28 is a version to switch to, when it is released.
Will I be notified by Mozzila when this comes out?
I know I might be taking advantage of you with these questions, but it is hard to find good answers without spending lots of time searching here, there and everywhere, so to speak.
So one more question, how come my password saving has stopped. It worked in the past but as of late, it sporadically asked me if I want to say updated passwords, and then it doesn't. I have a few sites, that use to have there passwords saved, and now I get nothing, very frustrating.
So is there anything I can do to get my passwords back.
I have switched from Ice Dragon when that didn't do well with passwords, then tried Chrome, I liked that as well, but then I realized that wasn't doing as good as Firefox did for me, so now I am back to Firefox, and that is not working very well either

Keyboard and trackpad are not working, Keyboard and trackpad are not working
I'm using MBP 15" late 2008 with Maverick OS. A couple of days ago, the internal keyboard and trackpad are not working at all. I did all the troubleshooting. I even reformat it; installing the snow leopard and re-installing the maverick but no good result. I believe there's no problem with my keyboard because i can still do PRAM on my lappy. Everytime i'm booting up my MBP, it always looking for bluetooth trackpad and keyboard. I have not used those bluetooth peripherals from day 1 i've started using MBP. I just read on the internet about the same problem has happened on MBP 13" retina and APPLE fixed it by updating the software. I wish Apple will also do something for the old MBP to fix the intermal keyboard and trackpad problem.
