Mavericks and itunes 11.1.2 not synching atv1
since upgrading to mavericks, including itunes 11.1.2, my atv1 does not work. watching shared movies takes forever to load a movie and then freezes approx 1 minute into the movie. Cannot not watch trails etc either.
I have deleted the atv and tried redoing but has been synching for two days now and still only about 25 percent there. The speed of the connection is now extremely slow.
I am connecting through an airport extreme basestation, which I have now upgraded to the latest firmware etc, but nothing seems to be working.
Does anyone have a suggestion.

Here it is even worse: I cant sync at all: both my iPhone 5s and my iPad 3 dont work. After starting iTunes 11.1.2 none of them shows in the devicess list. They appear after turning on the devices. Trying to sync from the devices is just stuck with no result nd times out after a while. Syncing with iTunes shows a error box - "No device found". Syncing with cable shows an error box that iTunes cant detect which Apps are on the device. For both devices the bar at the bottom of the Sync window in iTunes does not show the usual coulred spaces but one single orange entry. Besides: the main window of iTunes with Albums displayed takes every time it is invocked a time out of 1 min. with the coulored busy cursor and is unoperable for this time. Same when starting iTuunes: for good 69 sec. the window of iTunes turnes black and thwe rainbow cursor appears. It looks as if iTunes is crashed but it stalls only for the time.
My iTunes libraray is external on a Drobo. All worked fine under mavericks with itunes 11.1.1. Hope tzhere will come a fix soon - for the time being, I am stuck.

I just upgraded to Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 on my iMac (2012). When I try to access iTunes store, I now get "Store is temporarily unavailable." I quite iTunes, rebooted. I can't sign-out or access account. I can sign in to App store and iCloud on same computer. My macbook pro and macbook air both work with iTunes on the same network. I tried clearing iTunes cache and resetting warnings, just for the **** of it.
So...I don't see anything about this particular issue...where all other macs and Apple devices are working but one isn't...and where the one not working is the upgrade to OSX 10.9.
Also, I haven't changed any passwords or email addresses for my Apple ID lately.
Ideas?

Since I could access my Apple on the Apple site and in iCloud during this whole thing and also access my ITunes account (store) on my other macs, I'm figuring this was some strange anomaly. -

My FCP 10.1 is freezing at "Restore window layout" I am running on mavericks and the layout folder in not in library/applications support/ final cut pro... What do I do ???
Had the same issues. For me, I found unmounting any external drives and relaunching FCPX worked.
Mavericks seems to have some issues with launching Final Cut, so its best to launch and then plug in any external drives - hope that helps.

I upgraded to Maverick and now Time Machine will not connect to the external hard drive to back up files. The external hard drive is a Western Digital "My Book Live" 2 TB. How do I solve problem?
I also had problem accessing my WD MyBookLive after upgrading to Maverick.
To resolve the problem, I used Connect To Server (Cmd K) to specify the IP address.
Then I enter a user id and password I created in the MyBookLive.
You can also verify that you have admin access to the MyBookLive using Safari or Chrome.
Just enter the MyBookLive IP address as the URL. -

What is wrong with this maverick OS?The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -

I found the answer for real. I called apple and talked to some dude. All you have to do is clear your payment information, save it and then re-enter it. thats the bug, thats it.
go to the store drop down menu on the itunes toolbar... click view my account... click edit payment information... select 'none' for your credit card...click done... then try and buy your music... if you have a gift card or whatever. if you are just using your credit card or debit card, re-enter your payment information.

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
4. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
5. Reset the System Management Controller.
6. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad or mouse, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
7. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested. -

Found my answer by sifting through all itunes questions. (I tried earlier, but apparently chose the wrong key words. In my successful search I just searched through everything itunes related.) There was a posting where someone indicated they could not open alternative libraries using the option key method, precisely my situation. They stated that they solved the problem by appending a ".itl" at the end of the library file. I tried this myself and sure enough, it worked. Hopefully it will also work for all others who are suffering from this scenario.
