Mavericks and text clippings restored from 10.6.8
I backed up data clean installed Mavericks and every single text clipping that I restored has 0 bytes of info. Gone...anyone know how to restore them? I've lost much info that I needed unexpectedly. Is it a font missing?

I have an 2009 version of Quickbooks that they haven't even supported for 2+years and it wasn't even supposed to be compatible with Mavericks however it works for day to day entries and reports, I just can't use the "restore" feature in the Quick Books menu, I’m not even sure if I could restore in 10.9.2 with Time Machine.

I checked my Shared Folder on 10.6.8 and it shows 2 Folders, MacScan and UDL. Would I just create an Alias for the Quickbooks Folder and move it to the Shared Folder or an alias for the data file and move it there?? As my handle so candidly suggests, How would I point both partitions to the shared folder?

I would recommend performing the following steps in order to stabilize your iPhone.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

I upgraded to ios6.1.3 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved. Can I some how restore the apps to avoid having to pay for them again and having to recreate settings?
As I said, the backup that iTunes makes does not include apps (and music) if those items where not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you restored they will not be on the iPod.

If you encrypted the backup, there is no way around it. You will need to configure your iPhone as a new device.
From iTunes: About iOS backups:
In the iTunes Summary screen, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" if you want to encrypt the information stored on your computer when iTunes makes a backup. Encrypted backups are indicated by a padlock icon, and a password is required to restore the information to iPhone. You may want to write down the password for your backup and store it in a safe place. If you use a Mac, when you set a password you can select to store the password in the keychain. With iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the iOS keychain backup to a new device if you encrypt the backup.
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device. -

You can keep trying to restore the device from backup until you remember the password. If you're having trouble, try:
Leaving the password field blank
Your Apple ID password
Your computer account password, if you have one
Email passwords you may have used
Your Wi-Fi network password
Website passwords you may have used
A password for hard-disk encryption software, if you use it

Trying to change ownership of my old iPod. The advice here is to go to "Devices">"Summary">"Restore", but I find "Devices" does not offer "Restore" but only "Sync", "Transfer", "Backup", and a greyed "Restore from backup."
What I don't understand is that your iTunes looks different from mine--just a little bit. You have 3 circles, red, yellow, and green, in the upper right end of the top bar. INstead I have a square that is half gray. When I click it, I get a menu very similar to the menu under "File."
The only place I see an entry for "Devices" is under "File," but it only gives the 4 options I mentioned before (see below). There is no "Summary."
Here's another screen shot after I added an album to music. Now all the choices under "Devices" are grayed. -

I would also check to see the backup dates in iTunes and if the backup is located on iCloud instead of iTunes.

When you restore from back up, the process will restore the OS and some initial data, it will then restart and allow you to use your device while the remaining data is downloaded and restored in the background. have you allowed enough time for this to complete. -

Would the backup be password protected? I don't know ... After you restore from a back-up, and if you have passwords set up, would the newly restored iPad require a password or would it be "live" for 5 minute or however long the iPad was set to wait to require a password? I upgraded 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 and iphone wont restore from back up says corrupted
I just upgraded my iPhone to 6.1.1 after it finished it told me to restore phone from the back up I made right before I upgraded. Well it errors out everytime saying the back up is corrupted. So I've lost most of my pics of my new born son taken since my last cloud back up. And all my music and texts are gone. How do I get it to accept the old backed up file. I've read this happening a lot, but can't find a solution.
Update on the issue at hand.
I tried restoring my iPhone using an older backup that came from my old phone which was an iPhone 3G.. like 3 months back and it worked.. i still havent figured out on why would the phone not accept my recent phone backup. Its possible that the backup was corrupted or something OR due to the size of the backup and firmware compatibility it caused the phone to crash and restart while syncing. I even tried waiting for the phone to finish syncing eventhough the screen of my phone only shows a white circle loading. But due to the size of the app, it never finished syncing coz the phone eventually restarts itself making the whole syncing process start from scratch. I would really hope apple would come up with a solution or at least a statement concerning about this kind of problem.
Notes:
iPhone 4S backup size reached around 22GB while the backup file that worked only has 380mb. (Dont know if this info matters or not but i think its better for me to add the details.) -
