Can you be clearer about the problem? Are you trying to install VMware Fusion on a Mavericks system? If so, what version of Fusion? Have you upgraded to version 6 or 7?

Another solution would be to find a Compact Flash-to-USB card adapter that is compatible with the USB adapter in the Camera Connection Kit. Some such adapters draw too much current from the iPad.
You can also get a Secure Digital-to-Compact Flash adapter that would allow you to use SD cards in your camera.

Okay, just tell me now that Mavericks does not support iMovie 6 HD which I have migrated across my devices since it first came out as iMovie 4 and have supplemented with third party add ons from 3Gee. If this is true, then I will just jump off the nearest bridge, as I use it for my videography business. Since upgrading to Mav, I can not get the program to launch and am getting no pop up to tell me what is going on. It let me open and start a project at first, but then I was half way through and it crashed and I lost everything and now will not launch at all. Does anyone out there still use this magnificent program? Please help—the wedding I just commissioned is on hold and I am not want looking forward to facing a bridezilla.
right now just to get yer work done, get ahold of any OS that will run iM6HD and get it done. then dump MAVRICKS (wait till 10.9.2 at least) and retro back to OSX 10.6..or 10.7 (if you have it). I use FCExpress4 on 10.6....you might want to consider keeping a dedicated mini or something that ONLY runs your editing sw. I have 2 older machines that I will never upgrade because the editing SW wont run on the newwer OSs.

ask if they have any apple stuff that has Mavricks probs. bridzillas only happen when they are out of the loop. Keep them informed. but ...also be ready to duck.

After installing the latest itunes/quicktime update I can no longer acces the itunes store nad my iphone does not complete syncing. What can I do to fix this? The problem is with version 10.4.1. I had to reload 10.3 to get it to work. The recommendation from a previous poster worked for me. Here was their list of steps:
Go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall
2. Uninstall the following Apple programs in the following order:
a. iTunes
b. QuickTime
c. Apple Software Update
d. Apple Mobile Devices Support
e. Bonjour
f. Apple Appllcation Support
3. Reboot PC
4. Find, Download and Install iTunes 10.3 (you can find it at FileHippo.com)
If you start iTunes now you will get an error message saying that the current iTunes library was created by a newer version of iTunes. To correct this:
5. Go to your Music>iTunes folder and delete the "iTunes Library.itl" database file
6. Within this iTunes folder find and open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and locate the most recently dated "iTunes Library (date).itl" database file.
7. Copy and Paste this file back into the iTunes folder
8. Rename this "iTunes Library (date).itl" file by removing the date. It should say "iTunes Library.itl"
9. Reboot PC -

You may not need another browser. In Safari Preferences > Advanced, click the box "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
A new menu with that name will now be available. Choose the "user agent" that placates the website. That will at least load the page, but if you find it doesn't render properly you can always use Firefox. -
I have upgraded my MAC OS to 10.6.8.
Final Cut Pro 5.0 still runs great, but Soundtrack Pro 1.01 opens, but operates at a glacial pace. It does not functionally operate.

there may be other suggestions to make it work better. Usually an OS X
upgrade requires one to look at the hardware resources available to it.
The OS X works best with more memory: new higher capacity chips.
This may be possible, and they should be high quality from reputable
vender who has tested them on Apple in OS X, such as OWC or Crucial.

I'm still using 'good ole' Appleworks 6 on Snow Leopard. I'v heard that Maverick does NOT support Appleworks 6. Is this true?? Are my 20 years of Appleworks files now useless?

Nothing will open Database documents. You would need to export the data as ASCII and import it into another database program; you will lose your formatting and calculations will come over as the result, not the calculation.

I originally posted because I thought either I was doing something stupid, or that there was some little known setting or control that might sort things out.
When I called support, they tried 'little known setting or control' route, but it turned out that the ipad was definitely faulty and they have offered a replacement.
If I can help others having the same issue, I would say call support first before returning as it is possible to reset it if it is a software problem, rather than a fault with the hardware. -

Verizon does not fix/repair/replace devices.
Apple provides all hardware support in the US.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
FYI, they do not fix devices, so backup your device prior to going to the store. -

There has been no spillage and it has not been dropped.Do you have access to a USB wired Apple (or maybe even a PC) keyboard?
That may be used to help troubleshoot the internal keyboard and on startup
be able to access (or see if you can) the System, and attempt to see about
troubleshooting. See if it will start in SafeBoot, (shift key held down just after
startup tone, if it runs in safeboot, then login to see if you can read system
logs in Console) and another idea may be to attempt to start in Recovery &
then attempt to use OS X Utilities there to see if you can verify and then to
repair the hard disk drive, and do some checks on the hardware.

Was the computer an Apple official refurbished unit bought direct from Apple?
Did you get an extended warranty from Apple - if it were directly bought there?
Usually these are online purchases from Apple Store; other companies offer
repaired or restored used computers and call them 'refurbished' or they may
have bought actual refurbished from Apple stock; these may be resold on ebay
or via amazon, and may or may not have a residual warranty of some kind.
In some cases the keyboard may fail due to some connection on the logic board
not fitting correctly, or some other loose wire; however if the battery may have
swollen, that could contribute to issues with both trackpad and keyboard.
A visit to an authorized Apple service provider is recommended, or contact the
seller you bought yours from to ask if they may offer suggestions or perhaps a
discount on diagnostic + repair if there is no warranty on the product.
