Mavericks download interrupted because of low voltage - what to do?
while installing mavericks, my computer ran out of juice and shut down. recovery doesn't work. what would you suggest me to do? TX!
Sorry, I'm curious. How did your computer "run out of juice"? Did you forget to pay your electric bill?
What happens when you try to restart?
It sounds like your internal recovery partition isn't working or isn't there at all. Or your computer just died.
If you can't boot from your recovery partition (⌘R at restart) I'd try:
A SMC reset: Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
If you have another (working) mac and a USB thumb drive, you can make an external recovery disk with OS X Recovery Disk Assistant v1.0
If your mac originally came with installation discs, you could try booting from those, then seeing if you could repair your HD with Disk Utility.
Try to boot into single user mode (restart, hold down ⌘S until you see a black screen with white text) and repair your hard drive. Here's a reference with directions: Repair Your Hard Disk in Single User Mode | Everything Macintosh
Maybe your hard drive will mount in target mode on another mac, and you could try to repair the HD with Disk Utility. How to use and troubleshoot FireWire target disk mode
If none of these will work then it sounds like a hardware problem, and maybe a trip to your local Geniuses at the Apple store is in order.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

I would like to use a copy of Mountain Lion for development, but the store tells me I cannot download it because my MacBook 4,1 is not compatible! What can I do to download it?

Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

What to do when Lion download stops because of power failure?
Please, can anybody advise: what to do when Mac OS X v10.7 Lion download stops, because of interruption of power supply?
I would first try reinstalling your backup copy of your previous OSX version if you can and then try reinitiating the installation of Lion from there. However, if that doesn't work at all, then the stoppage of the download by the power failure most likely corrupted your harddrive. I myself would then take the safest course and reformat the harddrive by booting from your Original Installation Disks and reformatting the harddrive from the Disk's "Disk Utility". Then go thru the installation of the previous operating system to the point where you can once again proceed with the download and installation of Lion.

I tried to download the newest version for iTunes and now it is saying something about apple mobile device. Never heard of this before and now it will not finish downloading because of this. What is it?? What do i need to do to get itunes to download onto my computer again??

Why does the download start again for the start. I only hve access to a 3G wifi connection so one tv episode had cost me about $10 I'm download costs because of several interruptions. Is there a way to change that?
Among the alternatives not mentioned... Using a TiVo DVR, rather than the X1; a Roamio Plus or Pro would solve both the concern over the quality of the DVR, as well as providing the MoCA bridge capability the poster so desperately wanted the X1 DVR to provide. (Although the TiVo's support only MoCA 1.1.) Just get a third-party MoCA adapter for the distant location. Why the hang-up on having a device provided by Comcast? This seems especially ironic given the opinions expressed regarding payments over time to Comcast. If a MoCA 2.0 bridge was the requirement, they don't exist outside providers. So couldn't the poster have simply requested a replacement XB3 from the local office and configured it down to only providing MoCA bridging -- and perhaps as a wireless access point? Comcast would bill him the monthly rate for the extra device, but such is the state of MoCA 2.0. Much of the OP sounds like frustration over devices providing capabilities the poster *thinks* they should have.

It looks like your System Details say you are still on version 3. How have you been trying to update Firefox? Were there any errors during the update? You should look at [[Updating Firefox]] for details.
You could also try going to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

# Close Firefox. Be sure that it isn't still running in the background.
# Run the installer and re-open Firefox.

Icloud storage is the one you can purchase for 40 bucks for a year and you didn't need to do that - 5 free seem to be enough for you.
Ipad storage can be only "increased" by buying new bigger sized ipad. Apple makes those up to 128 Gigabyte in size now, but that will cost you a bit more the 40 bucks. -

I had some initial problems with iCal too. At least for me deleting the prefs file solve them. The file is: com.apple.iCal.plist and it is in your Library/Preferences folder
The other thing your problem appears to be connecting to the server is to quit Calendar and then open System Preferences, select the Internet Accounts, and toggle off the Calendar checkmark of each of your calendar accounts. Quit System Preferences. Start the calendar. Since you've turned off the calendar server accounts there should be no beachballing. Quit, return to System preferences and re-enable one calendar account at a time. (This assumes that you are using more than iCloud Calendar) and then start Calendar again. And finally, for one particularly obnoxious iCloud issue I wound up deleting my iCloud account in System Preferences and then recreating it. (Same account name, etc, I just killed the account on my computer so I could start out with fresh preferences). -

Which version of operating system are you running? Please go to Apple in menu bar, click on 'about this Mac" and click on the numbers under the big Mac OS X until you see "version 10.x.x" - copy what it says and post it here please.
