Mavericks download stops at 1.03GB

iMac 9.1
2.66GHz
8GB RAM
Running Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Trying to download Mavericks, the download stops every time at 1.03GB, and clicking retry doesn't start it.
I get the message "The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again."
But if I click Cancel, and then restart the download, it works perfectly again up until 1.03GB.
So I'm a little unconvinced that it's a problem with my internet connection, considering I have full access to the web and clicking retry shows it working and connecting.
What could be wrong?

Just noting, I connected the computer to a different network and it worked perfectly. It seems it's a problem with the network I was on.
If your computer is also having this problem, I suggest taking it to a friend's and doing the update there, or checking your router settings. I'm not sure why 1.03GB, but I can confirm that it did work on a different network.

  • Why does Mavericks download stop at 360 MB

I have tried downloading Mavericks several times in the last few days and each time the download stops at 360 MB.  Any ideas?

Oh, oh, oh! That's my fault. I thought you were talking about downloads in Firefox weren't working. Sorry!
I'm assuming you downloaded from www.getfirefox.com. You can try the full setup file and not the Stub exe offered on the Mozilla site

  • Mavericks download stops at 1.04 GB

    Mac Pro Early 2008
    10.8.5
Have tried 4 times to download Mavericks from App Store. Each time it gets to 1.04 GB downloaded, then stops "1.04 GB of 5.33 GB - Calculating".
Sometimes it will then come up with a new estimate of the time, bumping up quickly to many hours and into days, then it go back to calculating.
I have been it touch with my internet provider (AT&T wireless Homebase) and they claim there is no setting that that would cause this.
I have read other posts with similar problems, but have not found any of the solutions to work. For my last try I made a new User, and got same results.
    Thanks,
    James

Try resetting the App Store and Clearing Cookies.

  • Mac OS X Mavericks download Stopped in between

I wanted to install Mavericks in my MBP , So i started downloading Mavericks from Mac App store yesterday.
{ I fully formatted my mac for clean installation }. I was able to see the progress of download in the dock upto  some 3 GB of  data download , after that i was not able to see the progress, because of connection problem . It got stuck and flashed the message connection problem ! I clicked on the retry option and had given the Mac app store credentials after that It showed downloading in the mac store. In purchase tab there is only one option showing download{No resume option}. Almost some 4 GB of data downloaded. I cant able to see the download progress neither in the APPLICATIONS folder nor in the dock.  {No launch pad in os 10.6.8} Where can I see  how much is downloaded? Is there any possibility of resuming the download from where its got stucked.
P.S: I didnt shut down my mac still . Its in sleep mode!!
    Any help is highly Appreciated!!!

See if you can, "resume" the download. Instructions here > Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads
    The file is approximately 5.35GB's.
Mavericks does require a high speed broadband internet connection.

Rentals are a one-time only download from the store. If you can't free up enough space on your phone for it then you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they grant you a redownload for your Mac : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck.

  • How do you know if the Maverick download is happening?

I am now trying to download Maverick .. & have been hearing a whirring sound. But it starts then stops?
    - BUT I can't tell if it's done. I've kept the "page" on the screen, and the "download" button shows grey & it shows "Downloading"
    - BUT I don't see any circles, to show anything is happening.
    - NOR can I see anything on download in Finder. I've been checking the apple icon to see & it still shows Lion, 10.7.5 that I got in 2012. I have 4GB.
So, How do you know if the Maverick download is happening - & when it's done?
Last, do you have to restart the computer? I haven't been able to find a "how to" about this download.
    Thanks

With App Store open, purchases or updates pane (can't recall which), CMD+R to reload the page, and you should see a progress bar. Should look like this:

  • Why does my Maverick download crashes at 995mb

Why does my Maverick download freeze at 995mb

How are you connecting to your internet router, By Wifi or Ethernet cable?
If WiFi get an Ethernet cable and try that. Any drop out in the WiFi signal will cause the download to stop. Could be if you are using WiFi your WiFi router can't handle the large file transfer.

  • Mavericks downloading problem

My net is a little buggy so while downloading it cuts off from Internet for a few seconds and the download stops and if I start again it starts from beginning.... Isn't there any way that it starts from the point it left... Or any other source of downloading mavericks..... PLEASE HELP

Unfortunately, no. I'd recommend finding a place with a public WiFi connection, or maybe borrow a friend's internet.

  • I'm trying to update to firefox 6.0, but the download stops at 79%. How can I fix this? It occurs even after restarting my Mac.

I've been using firefox with my Mac book. Yedsterday, I got a message to update from version 3.6 to 6.0 in 3 steps. Step 1 was to download version 6.0. It appeared on the list of downloads as Firefox 6.0 dmg. However Step 1 , which was to open the download, stopped at 79% of the download version. So I have not been able to update to version 6.0.

I want to make sure you're using the auto-update system, because that's the safest most reliable way to go, and it shouldn't appear in the download manager, so I lets make sure you're doing it right. <br/>
This is a screencast I made a couple of years ago. It refers to 3.5 and 3.6, but the steps are still the same: http://ilias.ca/screencasts/ISUHD45.mov
If that doesn't work, then maybe your Snow Leopard account doesn't have permission to update applications?

  • Mavericks download and Install on 10.6.8

    Hello All,
I am facing weird behavior for Mavericks download on my 2007 iMac. I have checked and it is matching the requirements given by the Mothership.
However, I have now downloaded it twice and the process fails to create the appropriate file in Applications directory.  I am left with the .pkg file and Retry dowload message.
The appstore purchases window has entry for OS X but without the Download button. This entry is removed once i click on Retry OR Cancel. The temp directory also vanishes.
I checked the MD5 hash on both the .pkg files that were downloaded and they are the same -- so in my view the download was good (all of 5.29 gb).
If I try to run the .pkg file, i get error while selecting the partition - it recognizes only the bootable partition for install.
Changing the .pkg ext to .app gives error for Classic application support.
So, I need answers / comments for
    a. Why is the download in .pkg format for me ?
    b. Why does it not recognize the empty partition for install (the method was suggested for Lion or ML earlier).
    c. How do i test drive Mavericks before I take the decision to upgrade.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, Just to update.  While I did not find answers to above questions, I did manage to install Mavericks using the downloaded package. It took  bit of command line skills to do it.
Essentially, I had to extract the dmg files from pkg file using 'pkgutil' command. Once I had the dmg, I created a USB bootable for mavericks and using that installed it on a separate partition for test drive. As of now, it seems to be working well. I have been able to run OpenOffice (3.x and 4). However, my HP printer des not work and HP has not posted a driver yet for my series.
All in all, I think I will wait for the major update on 10.9 before upgrading 10.6.8.

i need the os x mavericks download, im on mountain lion, and i wish to obtain mavericks on my computer not yosemite

You will need to contact Apple, try iTunes Support. Mavericks was pulled from the MAS when Yosemite was released and the only possible way to get it is by contacting Apple directly.
    good luck
