Mavericks iCal won't talk to Exchange Calendar

Running MacBook Air, 10.9.4. iCal suddenly stopped connecting to Exchange. I deleted account settings, and re-created Exchange account in System Preferences > Internet Accounts. I received "There was an error in Internet Accounts preference pane.". Checked some discussion threads and saw that for some, disconnecting Internet access and manually setting server worked. I tried this, and was able to set-up Exchange account, however it works for everything except calendar (i.e., it syncs with notes, email etc). When I open iCal, my Exchange account appears as a calendar option in the left of iCal screen, but none of my calendar entries appear in the calendar part of the iCal screen.
All other account calendar entries (e.g., my Google Calendar) appear fine.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Found a solution, from a different post.
I reset again all the iCal prefs and caches ( (~/Library/Calendars, ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist, ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal) and RESTARTED the Mac. Then I opened iCal and added back the Exchange account, and all working good.

  • ICal - problem creating events in Exchange calendar

Hi All, this is a weird one to describe, so please bear with me...!
My client is on Snow Leopard at the moment, so does not yet have access to iCloud (upgrading remains an option but he is in no hurry). He is, however, having a confusing time of it using iCal on his Macbook.
He has linked iCal to his corporate Exchange account, and certainly he can view all the events within his iCal. However, when he creates a new event, it does not get created within the Exchange calendar, but rather in his local calendar, and then gets overlaid, visually, on top of the Exchange calendar. Consequently, this created event does not synchronise with his iPhone, because it is only "known about" on his local MacBook. Sorry if this sounds a little confusing, but do you guys see the problem?
Another, minor-ish, point is that the new event he creates locally always gets colour coded in a way that he seems to have no control over. Can anyone explain how the colour coding gets determined when a new event is posted?
To sum up then, he seems only to be able to read events in his Exchange calendar, but cannot add events in a way that they then get synced correctly.
    Paul

I just barely had this problem.  I restarted the program and it worked.

  • MacBook won't sync with Exchange calendar

    Hi all,
I've got an iPhone 4 and a MacBook Pro which I use for work.  The help desk at work was able to set up my iPhone to receive both email and calendar appointments.  On my MacBook I'm also able to get email, but for some reason I can't get the calendar function to work, using iCal.
I work as a freelancer, so have a number of different calendars and not being able to sync this one makes things difficult.
The help desk had a quick look at it, but said that as I'm freelance they're not required to spend any time on it (and they've got lots on their plate anyway), so I'm hoping someone here might be able to help.
For me the oddity is that my iPhone has no problems, but the MacBook does (and gives me hope that there might be some small setting that I've overlooked that would fix this).
So, here's what i've got.  The bits in bold are the fields and the details that follow are the settings I've entered>  For obvious reasons, I've removed any information that might be sensitive (e.g. usernames, password, company name).
    iCal settings:
    Enable this account: Checked/ticked
User name: mcs\username (I've also tried just putting in the username, without the "mcs\" prefix
Password: I've entered this and double-checked it to ensure that it's correct and matches what I'm using with the iPhone calendar
    Refresh: Every 15 minutes
    Internal Server: mail.companyname.com.au
Server Path: / (I've also entered "http" in the "Internal Server" field and "mail.companyname.com.au" to see if that works, but no luck).
    Port: Auto
    Use SSL: Checked/ticked
Delegation: I get the message "You can't see delegation settings when this account is offline"
    iPhone settings:
Under the account settings for this calendar, "Calendars" is set to "On"
    Email: [email protected]
    Server: mail.companyname.com.au
    Domain: mcs
    Password: ********
    Use SSL: Checked/ticked
    S/MIME: Not checked/Not ticked
I'm running the latest version of Lion and iCal.
Is there anything obvious that I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?  Thanks for any help
    GG

    I've managed to fix this!
In case it's helpful to anyone encountering this problem, here's what I did.
I went into the preferences (through the Calendar app, not the System Preferences - didn't want to remove the entire account info, in case I encountered problems getting my email to link again), clicked on the Account tab and removed the Exchange account (by clicking the "-" (minus) sign below the listing of accounts).  I then added an account (clicking the "+" sign) and re-entered the information.  When asked if I wanted to add these settings for Mail and Contacts, I unclicked those options (bc they're already installed and work fine).  Once I completed the information, I closed the settings window, and hit ⌘+R to refresh and all the Exchange appointments appeared.

  • Ical won't publish two different calendars

    Hi
Is it possible to publish two separate calendars at once in ICAL to one .mac account? I am a adjunct professor and I teach at two different schools (MCC & ECSU) I have made a separate calendar for each school. I unchecked the ESCU calendar and checked the MCC calendar but when I publish only one only the ECSU calendar is showing up. The MCC calendars won't publish at all. Should I just merge the two and publish both? I'd like them separate because the students will get confused.
    Any suggestions?
    Jane

    Jane,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Is it possible to publish two separate calendars at once in ICAL to one .mac account?
No, "at once" is not possible, but you should be able to publish (one-at-a-time) individual calendars which are displayed in your Calendars source pane.
Each published calendar should have a unique .mac URL address such as:
    http://ical.mac.com/yourusername/MCC
    http://ical.mac.com/yourusername/ESCU
Checking or unchecking a calendar in the source pane has no bearing on the publish capability, it only adds/removes the calendar from the display window.
You must publish each calendar individually as a separate calendar.
    ;~)

  • ICal won't show or print calendar in 5 day per week view

Even though I have checked the option under preferences to view my calendar with 5 days per week, it still shows on screen and prints with 7 days per week. Anyone have any ideas to remedy this?
    Thanks-
    Stacy

yes there is a problem with the web view formerly published pages timing out. that I need answers to myself.
regarding losing the option to publish in ical 4, what happened is when you upgraded your mobile me calendars it took all your published "on my mac " calendars and stored them at me.com which for now has no web view associated with them-they can only be shared by subscription.look at you ical and you'll see all your calendars now under [email protected] here's the work around:make sure her availability calendar is up to date. in ical go to file>new calendar>on my mac. give it the exact name of the one you had published. now select that calendar from me.com go to file>export-export the .ics file to the desktop-now go the your newly created "on my mac" calendar and import that file.-now with the "on my mac" calendar ical will allow you once again to publish. and if you kept the name exactly the same it should have the same web address-now if will only stop timing out!

  • ICal won't sync with google calendar

I recently had my computer crash, and luckily I had all my calendar backed up on google... I've managed to get my old calendar back, but now that I want to resubscribe my new calendars, google isn't recognizing any of the sites.
When I put in the webcal://ical.mac.com/... to subscribe it sends me immediately to a page that asks for an email address to tell people about my public calendar, but never puts it into my calendar!
    any ideas?

    Hi,
You might want to check out Busysync.

  • ICal won't sync with Google Calendars

I've been using iCal for several years and would like to sync it with my Google Calendar.  I've followed the instructions listed here, and cross referenced them with the iCal manual.  But every time I try to create/add an account in my iCal preferences, I get the following message:
"iCal found the CalDAV server "www.google.com" but couldn't log in with the user name "[email protected]".
Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then try again."
I've tried several times.  My user name and password are correct, but nothing I do seems to help.
I've also made my Google Calendar public.
I'm using iCal 4.0.4 and on Mac OS 10.6.8.  Nothing seems to help.
    Please advise, thanks.

Turns out the problem was that I was using Google's 2-Step Verification for my Google accounts, and needed to create a unique password specifically for Google Calendar in order for iCal to access it.  Problem solved.

  • Ical won't refresh my google calendar

i was able to successfully import my google calendar to my ical by clicking the .isc link under my private addres (as provided by google) - however, my ical hasn't refreshed in days. i tried to manually refresh - but the option is grayed out (will not let me choose).
anybody know why this might be happening?
    thanks!

yes i have tried to subscribe using both the html address provided and the ical address provided - it keeps saying that there is an error and the address is not valid. the only thing that seems to work is to click the ical address provided - but it is not synched it is only updated every time i manually update it thru google.
    still stumped.

  • Iphone 4s won't synch to exchange calendar

After downloading OS 6, my iphone 4s battery began to drain at record speed with little use throughout the day (MAYBE 2 hours of dinking around on the busride to and from work) I messed with a bunch of settings and that has seemed to help a bit but now I can't get my work email and calendar to synch up. I've tried all sorts of things and nothing has worked. Anyone else having this issue? I'm tempted to fully reset my phone at this point.....

Can you access your email via Outlook.com?
If so, the server box needs to reflect that on the iPhone (m.outlook.com)
If it's a server hosted by the company, you probably need your full email set in all of the applicable boxes (UserID, Email Address, etc.)
Have you put in the right domain? (if applicable)
Please, share screenshots of the error/example configuration so we can see if anything is out of place.

  • How do you put RSS subscription from iCal on exchange calendar?

I have created a RSS calendar subscription on my iCal. I have a exchange calendar set-up in my iCal. How do I get my RSS calendar subscription to sync with my exchange calendar?

I had this problem as well.  I deleted the app and it still was showing the birthday calendar in the list even though it was not selected and I was getting the notifications.  To get rid of this, you have to go to the Settings App then scroll down to the facebook section (below the default apps & twitter) and delete your acount from there.

  • Can I backup an exchange calendar?

I can connect to a company Exchange server with my iPad and get mu calendar. But what I'd really like to do is use this connection to get a backup of my company-hosted calendar on my private computer. I cannot connect with that private computer's iCal to the company hosted exchange. So, my only route is the iPad.
Is there a way to do this? Will iTunes/Sync store the cached contents of the exchange calendar somewhere for instance?

iCloud only syncs your iCloud calendar.  It won't sync your exchange calendar.

  • Since installing Mavericks, my HP Printer adds an extra page to every print job, and iCal won't synch via iTunes with the Calendar on my iPhone 4s. Can Mavericks be uninstalled?

Can Mavericks be uninstalled? Don't know if the discussion title pulled in all of my problem, so here it is again. Since installing Mavericks, my HP Printer adds an extra page to every print job, and iCal won't synch via iTunes with the Calendar on my iPhone 4s.
And no, I was a bad boy and had not been Time Machining. Guess I will now.
    So, can Mavericks be uninstalled?

Uninstall CleanMyMac2 >  How To Uninstall CleanMyMac
Uninstall Cocktail > Uninstall Cocktail for Mac OS X
Third party cleaning utilities are not necessary on a Mac and can only cause problems.
Your Mac runs maintenance in the background for you >  Mac OS X: About background maintenance tasks
Growl is un necessary and can slow  the system down > Growl - Removing Growl
If you want to monitor the system, use the pre installed Activity Monitor app located in HD > Applications > Utilities
    Then restart your Mac.

  • Exchange calendar on iPhone won't show up on iCal

I set up my iPhone to get email and calendar from work, which is an Exchange account. When I sync the iPhone with my laptop, the work stuff (Exchange calendar) doesn't show up on iCal.
    - On iTunes I have the settings set to Sync All Calendars
    - On the iPhone I have the Exchange account settings to get Mail, Contacts, and Calendars
How do I get this account to show up on iCal?

    Hello cclaxton,
It sounds like you were able to import around 300 photos from your phone to your computer but there are still about 100 left on the phone that will not delete, and do not show up for import in image capture or iPhoto. From what you are describe, it seems as if the photos were synced from an computer through iTunes to the phone. Use the following article to delete those synced photos from the device:
    iTunes: Syncing photos
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    Click Apply.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling
