Mavericks iTunes burns CD with wrong timing

Playlist constructed of older "protected" files. Wanted to burn backup cd's for archiving. Playlist shows correct song length. Burn to CD and CD and playlist come back with one uniform song length, e.g. 4:15. Songs less than that length get silence padded at the end, longer songs get truncated.
Same machine, same library, works perfectly in 10.6.

Audio CD. I have since discovered that the offending songs are also truncated/padded on my iPod as well since upgrading to Mavericks.
There was a Windows thread on a similar problem a few years ago. 75% of the protected items burn to disc fine, but there are some that just won't go. I am wondering if the latest version of iTunes might not have corrupted some of the data.
It is unlikely that corrupted the files themselves, but it may well have messed with iTunes's ability to process them correctly.
For backup purposes, you can always make a data CD.
And when you get a release that works, burn them to audio CD(s), rip back in MP3 format, and say sayonara once and for all to those protected files.

  • Sometimes iTunes burns CDs with song title info on them, sometimes not

When I burn a CD in iTunes, sometimes the song titles and other info seems to transfer onto the CD so that when I put it back in the disc drive the titles and artists show up on the iTunes track listing of the CD, other times it seems they don't transfer onto the CD so that when I put it back in the disc drive iTunes first tries to get the track info from theCDDB and then just lists the tracks on the CD as Track 1, Track 2, etc. Is there any way to assure iTunes consistently transfers the song titles & other info onto the CDs it burns, so that when I play those CDs in other machines that can display this info, the info is there for it to read?

iTunes recently added the option of embedding CD Text into audio CDs (although the option is disabled by default). If you’ve enabled this feature, it’s likely that your car’s CD player is reading that. I don’t believe that iTunes is enabled to get track info from CD Text. It's possible to harvest track names from CD Text on a Mac with AppleScript. I’m sure it’s possible on a PC as well, although I’m not sure how.
iTunes remembers audio CDs that you've burned and stores their track lists in your library file, so if you burn a CD, then re-insert it in your computer later, it should remember the track names. If you’ve replaced your library file, or the CD in question was burned on a different computer, then iTunes will have no record of having burned the disc, hence no track names.
    Hope that helps.

  • IPhone 5s and iTunes match started with wrong apple i

    Hello,
Yesterday I started with iTunes match with one of my apple id's (the one I mostly use for shopping)
UnfortunateIy, while reading the instructions I didn't quite understand that it would not be available to my other id (apple id for iCloud)
My macbook, windows pc and ipad are synced with the correct apple id (for iCloud)
Now my iphone is not synced because I started iTunes match with another apple id of mine....!
As I realise what happened I think that a 90 day period is absurd!!! in order to get my device free to sync with my choice apple id
Because of this situation I have bought de iTunes match twice.
Can you help me with the two following?
    1. Is it possible to cancel de purchase for apple id: please?
    2. And to have my iPhone 5s available for de iTunes match
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello mary.bee
To resolve the issue, you will need to report the issue to the iTunes Store. As for the 90 days the article below will have some information about associating your Apple ID with other devices.

  • Itunes coming up with wrong account information

For some reason, sometime when I try to update an app in iTunes, the account information for the tech that set my iPad up for me keeps coming up. Itunes and the device is configured with my account information, is there a way that I can change it so that my iTunes account information comes up, instead of the techs?

Try logging out of that account by tapping the account on the right-hand side in Settings > Store and then logging in with your own. Did the tech download any apps ? If so then only his/her account can update those apps, so you would probably be better off deleting them.

  • During sleep mode, iTunes burns display with error msg

When my system goes to sleep (Actually I have a mac pro, not a mac book pro) ITunes put out an error message which then sits at the top of both monitors, to wit: "ITunes has no pictures to display".  This message is static and does not turn off.   It seems to me like iTunes knows that the sytem is sleeping, and thus may want to issues messages to system.log but pls, but not to the dark sleeping screen.
Anybody know any way to tell iTunes, thanks but no thanks on that particular msg?

I had an issue like this with my iPhone for a little while... long story short, mind ended up being caused by a ringtone gone awry.

I do believe, Joseph, that you have a cure for the problem! I did have a custom ringtone on there, and simply chose one of the built-in ringtones, then did a reset, and it now rings when in sleep mode. Thanks for this insight.

  • Error 4000 burning CDs with iTunes 7.1

iTunes checks the disc, then burns 3-4 songs, then cancels the CD burn wasting yet another disc. Also, I cannot backup my purchased songs with the backup feature. Same problems here. I have 2 different computers and tries 2 different CD-Rs and I found out that it has soemthing to do with the new "Protected AAC audio file" format.
Open iTunes, click on music, on the listing side of the screen right click on name, and then click on "kind".
I bet you can't burn anything with the "Protected AAC audio file."
No solutions yet, so just don't buy anything else from iTunes for now.

  • Service Battery appeared again along with fast battery drain on Mavericks 10.9.4 with iTunes 11.3

I upgraded to Mavericks on my MacBook Pro about a month ago and bluetooth connection problems with my Bose Mini Soundlink and UE Boom were resolved but everything else went haywire from the dreaded Service Battery message, email, to wifi issues. After a few days of hair pulling and looking for solutions, the problems just went away, and everything went fine again. Two days ago iTunes came out with an update and I installed it. I first noticed the battery lost capacity from 87% down to 74% with just 299 cycles on it. Now the Service Battery warning is back and the battery doesn't seem to last that long anymore. I've removed Google Chrome, done SMC reset, battery reset, and the whole kit and caboodle of tricks from forums but none worked. I tried removing iTunes but I can't. I have a lurking idea this is a software issue. Any tricks out there to get this back into shape?

    Hi sayla,
When you reloaded your software did you do a clean reload (deleting all data)? http://bbry.lv/bpv7DT
If so, you might try doing a resettofactory using the following instructions. http://bit.ly/fMW9I4 This will reset to factory default.

  • Computer freezes when trying to burn cds with itunes

I don't know if this would help other people with issues related to burning cds with itunes but here it goes:
My computer running Windows XP SP2 and itunes 7.6.1.9 suddently stopped burning cds via itunes about a couple of versions ago. Burning would start correctly, however the operation never completed successfully, in fact, the computer would completly freeze before getting too far. The computer had to be hard booted, meaning I had to hold the power button to kill it. The only solution that I've come up with that effectively corrects this problem is as follows:
    Close itunes
Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Look for IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and open it (double-click it):
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
    Select Startup Type as Automatic
Go to Recovery tab and set first, second and subsequent failures to Restart the Service
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Look for iPod Service and open it:
If not started, start it by clicking the Start button
    Select Startup Type as Automatic
Click Apply and then Ok to close window
Restart itunes, try burning a cd from a playlist in itunes. There is no guarantee that this will solve your issue, but it is worth a shot, it has worked for me so far.

  • Help Please: Unable to Import or Burn CDs with iTunes

    Hello,
At some point over the last few updates I seem to have lost the ability to import or burn CDs with iTunes. I've done so many times in the past with no problem however when I attempt to do so now my entire PC restarts or in a few cases gives me the generic Windows "iTunes needs to close" error.
So far I've made sure my PC is not overheating. I've ruled out spyware or viruses using AVG and CCleaner. I've swapped out power supplies only to have the problem continue. I am able to listen to music and/or burn CDs and DVDs in both of my drives using other applications with no problem. I've tried fresh, clean installs of iTunes all the way back to 8.02 with no success. I've even gone as far as to completely reformat Windows only to have this problem continue.
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome. I will be glad to provide any requested information, thank you.

What good is buying your music through itunes if you can't burn a cd and/or back it up? Why isn't this issued solved - I can't burn a cd. I have missing registry files and warning that says to reinstall which I've tried unsuccessfully. Hopefully they'll find a fix before I lose my 500 songs I've purchased...does anyone back up on a external hard drive - any suggestions? Thanks

  • Need Help - CD burning tracks in wrong order!

    Dear All..
I am having a huge problem with my iTunes when it comes to burning a disc. Alright - yesterday I bought a new CD from iTunes and I wanted to burn it to disc for my car. So I did exactly that however, when I play the CD in my car it has the tracks burned in the wrong order than the CD was in the "playlist" that I burned it from.
It's very frustrating. It has happened previously and I remember an iTunes update fixed it but now it's back. I would really appreciate any help that any of you experts can give me.
    Many thanks..
    Ricky

I needed to copy a cd and this is the first time I was trying with my Mac. In Windows is so easy and there are hundreds of programs to do it that it's unbelievable how difficult this can be in the Mac world without paying extra $$$ for a program like Toast! I was trying several solutions and none of them worked. Finally I realized that the order I was looking at my the files in the library is the order the playlist is generated and no matter what the track order is that doesn't help in getting the tracks in the cd in proper order. So I went to my library, selected the files I wanted in my cd and got them in the correct track order and then created the playlist from that selection and the order of the files in the playlist matches the original cd order and the new cd I burned out of the playlist. I tried this a couple times already and works fine this way. Kind of a bummer if you ask but... hope this helps anyone out there because this can be very frustrating.
