Mavericks Mail not syncing with iOS Mail

I'm finding myself having to manually read, save, or archive my email on my desktop iMac mail after already having done this on my iPhone 5 or iPad. The iOS devices seem to be syncing fine, but the iMac mail does not seem to be getting caught up with work done on my mobile devices. In addition it appears as though each time I attempt to synch my iPhone to iTunes it get stuck on step 5 of 6, importing photos. I'm not sure what has changed, I have not altered the way I operate as an end user, I simply go about my business as I normally would except for the fact that I'm finding myself have to do double the work, something that I know i did not have to do, even before Mavericks or iCloud ever became available. Has anyone else had this same experience and/or does anyone know how to fix either the mail sync or the iTunes sync?
Thanks,
David

Update to my own question :-)
Upgrading to 10.9.1 seems to have taken care of these issues!

  • Snow Leopard Mail not sync with iPhone Mail (iCloud)?

    Hello all,
Just like to query and confirm:
This is my sister's Mac Mini running Snow Leopard, and her iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 on iCloud, she has activated iCloud on her iPhone, using the same Apple ID
She has told me her desktop Mac mini's mail doesn't seem to sync with the mail on her iPhone, but it was, about 3 weeks ago
I know both are different, her Snow Leopard would be running MobileMe and her iPhone would be running iCloud, even though both are using the same Apple ID.
Is the Mail part regardless of whether on MobileMe or iCloud, they would sync, or will not?
I guess the only thing to do now is to update her Mac mini to Lion as soon as possible.
    Thanks and cheers.

Yes, you need to upgrade to Lion in order to use iCloud. MobileMe and iCloud are separate email services.

  • Sent mail not syncing with MBP Mail from iPad

I just setup one of my email accounts with IMAP on my iPad and MBP to see how they will work together. When i reply to an email from the iPad it will show the little reply arrow in Mail on my MBP but will not show the message anywhere. Not in the top of the conversation or in any sent mail folder.
How can I get it to sync the sent mail?
    Any help is appreciated!

iTunes 11.1.1 running on MacBook Air will not sync with ios 7.02 - "waiting for changes to be applied". I have been having this issue since upgrading to 11.1. I thought the upgrade to 11.1.1 will take care of it

Anyone having this same problem? I need my iPad to sync! efclvkjhbsdfvlkj
Yes, my iPhone 5 running ios 7 will not sync in *any* way with itunes now.  I can neither add nor remove content via itunes.  I just tried to delete 100% of my music from my iphone, it hung forever on "Waiting for changes to be applied" and then when it was finally done... no changes had been applied.
I can't add, remove, change, delete or in any way of any kind sync my iphone with itunes any longer.
I'm becoming the person who refuses to update to the new Apple OS.  I used to get very excited about new OS updates.  That all ended around Mountain Lion.  Yesterday when I saw that Mavericks was out I wasn't excited.  Instead I felt a sense of dread, and for good reason.  Every time they release an OS in the last few years it's just a cluster-F.

  • Macbook mail not syncing with other devices after Maverick

After downloading Maverick on my macbook as well as on my imac, the mail on my macbook is not syncing with my other devices.  My imac, iphone, and ipad are working and syncing as before downloading Maverick, but the mail in my macbook is not working properly.  I have already done all current updates, any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

  • Blackberry notes sync with Apple mail notes

When I sync my blackberry it says that the notes sync with the Apple mail notes, but I cannot find the Apple mail notes. How do I access them??
    Thank you.

I had the same problem. It actually syncs the memos to Mail. Open Mail from your computer, and on the left side there should be drop menus called: Mail, Reminders, and RSS. On mine, Reminders was closed, so I dropped it, and there was another menu called "Notes", and viola! There were all the Blackberry Notes, ready to go! It's literally saved in "Apple Mail Notes".

    Hope I helped!

  • Apple mail not syncing with hotmail e-mail on iPhone

I just bought a MacBook Pro a couple days ago and before when I was using my PC my hotmail account on my PC would sync with my hotmail e-mail on my iPhone 4.  Since I setup my hotmail account in Apple Mail it is not syncing with my iPhone.  When I delete it on my Mac or show it as read, it still shows as unread on my iPhone.  This did not use to happen.  Can someone help me, so I can get my Mac and iPhone to sync my e-mails?
And I cannot see all my Hotmail folders in Apple Mail.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply.
The problem is that I've got many years of emails saved on my hotmail account and I've got other different email addresses set up to forward their emails to this account. Due to the nature of my work, I also regularly have to search back through my emails.
It looks like my only option currently is to use an icloud account and have all of my other email accounts all forwarding emails to that instead. Unfortunately, this doesn't solve the problem of being able to search back through my emails, though.
Does anyone know how the iphone manages to successfully connect with hotmail accounts (as though using IMAP). As I said, my iphone works absolutely perfectly and is fully synced with the hotmail server. I know it's something to do with 'microsoft exchange' but I really don't understand what this is and how it works.
    Thanks, Matt

  • Pre email push not syncing with Yahoo Mail or google cal after HP shut down

HI.  I have a Palm Pre, and while I knew services going through Palm would be dead after the shut down, I assumed anything that was a direct email push through my cell phone carrier or WIFI would be fine.
I have however suddenly lost email sync with my Yahoo account, google calendar sync (thought the gmail sync works) and Outlook calendar sync through Chapura sync manager.
Is this a coincidence?  Is there something I can do to fix this?  It makes no sense that services that have nothing to do with Palm should cease to work!
    Thanks!

I have set up the account using the iPhone's preset service - which I think means it's an exchange account.
This means the account was created as an IMAP account with Push access for received messages.
Surely I'm not supposed to close Mail down in order to receive push notifications? And if so, what does that means for Facebook, eBay etc?
No you are not. With an account that supports Push access for received messages with Push access enabled for the account with the account settings on the iPhone, when a new message is received at the incoming mail server the incoming mail server "pushes" the message out automatically without having to check the account for new messages - automatically or manually, which is called fetch.
Removing the Mail app from the fast app switching or recently used apps bar does not quit the app. It removes the app from the fast app switching or recently used apps bar only. The iPhone has supported multitasking since day one with included apps. Removing the Mail app, the Messages app, and the Phone app from the fast app switching/recently used app bar does not quit these apps. These apps are always running in the background so to speak in a suspended or frozen state.
Yahoo has had on and off again problems with this since day one 3&1/2 years ago.

  • Mountain Lion Mail not syncing with iCloud

I have a gmail, yahoo mail, microsoft exchange, and apple email account.  I can get all of them to sync on my iPhone, iPad, and iMac.  However, for some reason only the Apple email shows up on iCloud.  I deleted my account and signed out of iCloud on the iMac to hopefully restart but the iCloud mail on Safari is not syncing at all.  If someone has a solution to this problem that would be awesome.  Thank you.

    Mine too is not syncing.
In fact it has become un-usable !!!!!
    - When I delete emails from my exchange account, they are initially deleted but then are restored ?
    - emails which contain invites to appointments, are not imported to Calendar
    - drafts, which I save are not saved.
It is a complete pain, and is resulting in my having to look for another email client.
PLEASE APPLE SORT THIS OUT !!!!

  • ICloud mail not syncing with Droid RAZR

On July 24th, 2012 iCloud mail stopped syncronizing with my Droid RAZR.  My wife and I have identical phones, and have currently active and functional iCloud accounts on Mac. Both of our phones had functional email syncronization before AND AFTER ICS updates.  No new dowloands or settings changes have occured.  I have ensured that we are using the correct manual settings [email protected], PW, imap settings mail.mac.com, port 993, SSL
I have tried using imap.mail.me.com and that does not work either. I tried the p07- prefix, and that too does not work. The only error it providfes is that it cannot connect to the server, and no other information is provided.
I was on with verizon support, apple support, and motorola support and no one knows what has happened or has any solution.
Have others encountered this problem recently? I have seen postings from last year on this, but nothing recently.
If others have solutions, please post.
    Thanks

I had the same problem.  Took me a long time to figure out but just got it working with Motorola level 2 support.  For some reason the settings changed and they are different settings that what I got to work using the K-9 app.  Basically, you need to change the incoming and outgoing server settings from what they were!   incoming server is imap.mail.me.com.  Use port 993, ssl/tls (accept all certificates) and authentication method should be LOGIN.  Outgoing settings should be smtp.mac.com with port 587, require sign-in, authentication method is PLAIN

  • Calendar not syncing with Exchange, Mail-Contacts are

One user hasn't been able to sync his calendar since upgrading to iOS 4.0 This was happening on his 3GS when 4.0 came out and it's still happening on his new iPhone 4.
The odd thing is his contacts and mail both sync just fine, only his calendar doesn't.
Has anyone seen this? Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hello:
I was able to fix my problem after finding this thread on the apple discussion forum:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2469473&start=165&tstart=0
If you read the last two pages of the thread, you will find a link to a apple "patch" configuration profile for iphone iOS 4 that increases the time that the iphone waits for server sync responses. I installed the patch on my iphone, rebooted, then deleted and added back my exchange account and now it's working properly.
The link to the "patch" file is here:

  • G-mail labels syncing with Mac Mail folders

I reinstalled my OS recently (a reinstall of Mavericks), and since have had an issue when trying to move e-mail into custom folders in mac mail.
It seems as though G-mail (which thinks of things in terms of labels, rather than folders) is failing to remove the "inbox" label when it appends whatever custom folder label I'm "moving" the message to. The result is that the e-mail appears in two places in Mac Mail. In the inbox, and in the folder where I want it to be. Logging into G-mail and removing the "inbox" label manually fixes it on a per-message basis, but what a hassel.
I've seen a few answers in the forums like, "make sure you have 'All Mail' turned on in the IMAP label settings." I've tried this and several other things, and feel like I still must be missing a little checkbox somewhere that will fix all my problems, since this wasn't an issue before reinstalling Mavericks. But it also isn't a problem when moving mail using my iPhone, which leaves me thinking that the new desktop mail app just doesn't play well with g-mail.
How can I get g-mail to remove the "inbox" label when moving things in mac mail so it only shows up in the custom folder?

Went into preferences, deleted and then re-added my MobileMe account and this fixed it. I also had some 15,000 pieces of mail in my Sent mailbox. So I archived the mailbox and cleared most of it out.

  • ITunes Match not syncing with iOS 8.1

    Hello,
It appears tome that iOS8.1 has introduced a new issue with iTunes Match.
If you enable it on the iPhone it will sync properly the first time but after that it will stop syncing.
If I add any new songs, edit songs or albums infos, perform any action, I won't see any of this in my iPhone with iOS 8.1
I even don't have lyrics for songs, which I had with 8.0.2
Do any of you experience the same issue?

I've had this issue since iOS 8. From what I can tell, this issue is isolated to iOS 8; not an iTunes issue or a specific iOS device issue.
Here's my evidence to support that:
    1. I have never, ever had this issue with iTunes Match, and I've used the service since it was introduced. The issue started when I first updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5.
    2. I then purchased an iPhone 6 Plus. Issue persists
    3. I then decided to switch out my 6 Plus for a 6. Issue persists.
    4. Here's the kicker: I kept my 3rd generation iPad on iOS 7.1.2. If I add music to iTunes Match, it immediately appears on my iPad.
I've tried several workarounds in an attempt to fix it: Airplane Mode toggle, reboot, restore/setup as new.
I've only found one solution, and it works every time. Turn off iTunes Match on my iPhone, turn it back on, and voila, my newly added music will appear. Very inconvenient though, as this process deletes any of the songs I previously downloaded to my iPhone via iTunes Match.

  • WIFI password not synced with iOS device

For short: I'm excluded off my own WIFI net because Apple's iCloud Keychain didn't sync the WIFI password from my MacBook to my iPad.
For my holidays I bought a nice portable WIFI hard disk. This device can not only take the memory cards of my camera and store the images without any computer, but also establishes a WIFI network, by which I can access the content of the mobile harddisk wirelessly.
At home, I configured this neat device with my MacBookPro and accessed it via WIFI by choosing the WIFI hard disk's network and entering the password, which Apple suggested during the configuration process of the WIFI hard disk. At this moment (entering the WIFI password to connect with the hard disk's network), I had to recurr onto the OSX keychain helper: look for the formerly entered password and paste it into the WIFI accounting form - and check the box "store in the icloud keychain". Ok.
Ok? Nothing's ok on my iOS devices (iPad and iPhone). Why?
By checking the box, I was sure that the password would indeed be synced with and stored within the iCloud keychain.
    But I went wrong!
Now on holidays, with my camera, my iPad, my WIFI hard disk and – without my MacBookPro (because it's a holidays killer) – I tried to connect my iPad with the WIFI of the mobile hard disk. Seeing it's WIFI network, I tapped on it and got the accounting dialog: Enter password.
    Which password?!?
I had instructed the Apple iCloud to store this password – and deliver it to any authorized device if needed.
But Apple, seemingly, did NOT do this and failed to deliver the password to my iPad (which is naturally registered to the same Apple ID as my MacBook).
What shall I do now? I have NO access neither to my MacBookPro (which is at home) nor to my iCloud keychain (which Apple thinks the best to protect against me).
To be honest, I feel patronized in a very ugly way by Apple - once again.
My question is: Why isn't there a way to access or manage the iCloud keychain from an iOS device? Should it be that Apple thinks these devices are LESS SECURE?
Any help is very welcome! Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, FromSouth -
I called Apple Support and they also said that she has to have access to my iCloud account. We did figure out that some of the notes from 2011 and 2012 are from a shared business account which also allows notes, but that is a Verizon account and should not impact, in any way, shape, or form, the iCloud account.
I do not believe my daughter actually did this; I am guessing that her iCloud account was also accessed by her husband (who is not a good guy), and he, without her knowledge, synced her iCloud to his iPhone to track all her stuff. I then believe he got hold of mine and did the same a couple of days ago, as we are all together for a large family vacation (in the same house).
I guess I have a couple more questions about this, though:
Normally, when you sync a new device with your account, you get a message on all your old devices - but I did not get anything of the kind. How would this be possible? I guess maybe if he synced it while standing there with my iPad, then my iPad would get an alert, and he would just turn it off?? (I know all this sounds excessive, but believe me, he'd go to this length.)
I find it difficult to believe that he could have cracked my iCloud password - it's not something that anyone would ever put together easily. How would he be able to access the account without a password? Is there any kind of app or software that he could have installed on my iPad that would allow that? (Again, believe me, he'd do it.)
Is there any way to see in iCloud what devices are linked to the account? That alone would show me what device has this.
Finally, I have my iPad password-protected, so I cannot imagine he would have gotten into my iPad in the first place...how would he have gained access to this otherwise? I really thought I was being very smart on how I set this all up, and two days in the same location as him and now this....
I really thank you for any help you can give me on this one...
    Thanks!
