Mavericks OS X Server won't install

Server 3.0.2 stalls when Preparing services.  I'm running 10.9.1 on a Mac Mini.  Anyone else experincing this any idea how to get the install to finish?

Is OS X Server setup on your MBP as an actual Server running the Services or are you just using it so you can remotely manage another Mac running OS X Server services?

  • My mavericks OS operating system won't install canon eos movie plugin

I recently upgraded to Mavricks OS and am in need to download plug-ins for FCP7 so that I am able to log and transfer 5D MII and MIII footage but it won't allow me to do so. I called canon but they were of no help and assumed that it would work although it does not. Does anyone have any suggestions? You all rock

The Mac Pro is a newer one "A1186" it says on the back.
Those models were first released in January, 2008, and discontinued in March, 2009. They shipped with Leopard, 10.5.x. That's what will be on the gray disks, if you still have them.
Perhaps you need to put on your reading glasses.  I did wipe the drive.
Be nice. No one here is a perfectly functioning android. We all overlook things at times. What babowa is saying about Lion has nothing to do with retrieving your father's personal data. It's when you do a Recovery mode restart, it won't reinstall Lion without knowing your father's App Store ID and password.
If you no longer have the original gray disks (or even if you do), your best bet is to call Apple and purchase a retail DVD copy of Snow Leopard, which will be version 10.6.3. Install that and then update it to 10.6.8, which will put the App Store on the drive. From there, you can login to your own App Store account and install later versions of OS X you have purchased. Which of course would be Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks. All of which will run on that Mac.

  • ZCM 11.2 reporting server won't install

    Hello,
A couple months ago I upgraded to ZCM 11.2 (from 11.0) on SLES 11 SP1. Now I am attempting to upgrade the reporting server. I initially ran the install (setup.sh) and it told me ZRS was alrady installed. So I ran zrsuninstall.sh and that took quite a while (several hours) but said it completed successfully. Then I reran the 11.1 reporting server install and it says begins to install but goes very quickly and then tells me it needs to restarte services. after that it says it has failed to install. If I check /opt/novell/zenworks/share/boe the folder is empty except for a reportinguninstall.sh file. so it looks like files are not being copied correctly.
I wonder if the uninstall didn't come off clean and thats causing problems? is there a way to cleanup this mess and start from scratch? This is my primary and only ZCM server.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

  • Mavericks Says "Downloaded" But Won't Install

As noted in the screenshot below, OS X Mavericks is listed as downloaded (which can't be possible -- it said 3 more hours to download then jumped directly to "downloaded" status).  Is there a way to restart the download from scratch?  At this point, I'm stuck.
    1

Found the answer on my own -- it's a problem that occurs if the download for some reason is stopped or interrupted.  But in case anyone else runs into this, here's the solution:
    1.  Go to your Applications folder.
    2.  Find OS X Mavericks.
    3.  Double-click on the icon.
    4.  The App Store will restart the download.
    Done.

  • Q6301A Wireless G Print Server Won't Install

Have a 802.11g network on Linksys WRT54G running WPA2-PSK/AES with 3 Windows XP Pro SP2 PCs connected just fine. Have a HP L7680 AIO that was connected via ethernet cable.  Worked just fine.  Now, owners have moved to a new house and need the L7680 to connect via WiFi.  Problem is, the 2101nw will not successfully install.  It gets configured by the PC and then starts to "Verify" the connection and fails with "Wireless Connection Failed" (or very close facsimile of that message).  The installation is being conducted ten (10) feet from the router with open line-of-sight.  There is no firewall software save the one in Windows.  That firewall has a bunch of Exceptions for HP modules installed.  I'm giving the 2101nw an entirely new static IP address (DHCP doesn't work either) because I haven't a clue what else to do.  (The instructions -- what few there are -- SUCK!)  I've spent literally hours on this.  I called HP for support and after being transferred several times, I got hung up on.  So much for support.
Does anyone have a clue how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Wye

Today, I tried to install after disabling both the Windows Firewall and the AntiVirus software.
    Same results.
My customer watched this and is convinced it's the wrong product for him and he refuses it.
I have sent an email to customer support requesting an RMA for credit.
I can't keep promoting products that either don't work or are not supported.
I give up on this thing.
I strongly recommend that nobody ever buy one.

  • Maverick won't install! And I have nothing backed up...help please!

I updated to Maverick but now it won't install. It says I have to repair discs but when I go to utilities and repair they won't repair. Now when I turn on my computer it goes directly to the install maverick screen and I can't do anything else. My computer is not backed up (stupid, I know). Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is there some way to backup my computer to an external HD at this point? Can I revert back to mountain lion? If I go back to factory settings do I lose everything? What should I do??

    Kelso,
If Eric's suggestion of Command+Q doesn't free you up, have you tried Force Quit? -- click and hold the black Apple icon in the far upper left corner -- Force Quit is SCARY powerful and I suggest it ONLY if you are all out of other options -- if FQ gives you the option to quit Install and other things, do so and when you reach a simple desktop or Finder window grab an external drive, plug it in, and backup your documents and non-App Store applications manually.
Then turn the machine off, have coffee or tea, and decide on your next course of action.
Final suggestion, when you do ultimately get back in order, get a Time Machine and use it. A 100GB external drive is less than $100....I suspect you may have already thought of this.
    Good Luck.

  • CS3 InDesign won't install, Mac  OS 10.5

I've just received CS3 Design premium, and InDesign won't install. There is no reason given, just that it won't install. Shared components and Version Cue Server won't install either. I just upgraded to Leopard on a g5 Intel system. Any ideas on what to do next?
    Thanks,

    CS3 InDesign won't install, Mac OS 10.5
    Hi Darlene,
I think I just got lucky - it hesitated a few times then finally clicked.
One of the previous posters suggested to not install Version Cue, so I
clicked that one off. Did you repair the permissions and restart before
installing? Spin around 3 times clicking your heels saying, there's no
    program like InDesign?
If you can stay in InD 2 I would suggest that, expecially if you use a lot
of clipping paths. InD3 has a bug there that won't see interior paths, so
you have to go back into Photoshop to rework the image. If I had only know
    that before.....
    Good luck!

  • Creative Cloud Desktop app won't install error 207; Adobe server?

Is there a problem with some of Adobe.com servers? My employer just purchased a CC subscription for my work Mac, and the CC Desktop App won't install. I've restarted my Mac, quit all Adobe products, redownloaded the DMG file (creativecloudinstaller.dmg), and checked to make sure my firewall is off. But I still get an error message #207. My DNS servers are set to the same ones that other Macs in my group are set to, and they have CC on their Macs.
I don't know if it's related, but I can't load "adobe.com" in my browser, either. All other webpages are fine, including (obviously) this forum.
I am using OS 10.8.5, connected via Ethernet, and my browser is Chrome.

Thank you for your help, Ned. I also called Adobe help via phone, and he confirmed that my company's server needed to whitelist several Adobe sites. The company had revised their servers not long ago, and evidently did not transfer their old whitelists (which is why my coworkers had previously been able to access Creative Cloud). The phone support person emailed me a helpful list that I could forward to our company's tech support center—but the link you supplied in your response was also perfectly relevant.

  • I am trying to install Mavericks on my McbookAir, but it won't install, saying that my hd is used for time machine backups. I have an external HD connected to my mbAir that I'm using for time machine.

2012 Macbk air, with OSX 10.8.5. See my question above. Mavericks won't install on my Air's HD, says that both the HD - AND - the external HD (which has a different name from the laptop HD) are used for time machine backups. I've deleted my time machine plists, restarted, repaired permissions, turned time machine off, repeatedly selected the external drive in time machine preferences. HELP. (Install went perfectly on my desktop Mac, which also has an external HD for time machine).

I need to add that the only place I have the "Backups.backupdb" folder is on my backup external disk, and it's not on my HD    :-(    . If it were, I'd delete it!

  • After updating OS X Mavericks it won't install or shut down

I was on my MacBook Pro and it said that my OSX Mavericks needed to be updated and that the update need a restart. I clicked the update button and it brought me to a loading screen that said "Installing Software Update" but it's been installing for hours. The loading bar won't move and therefore the update won't install. Whenever I click anyone the buttons, including the manual off button, makes a sound and does nothing. It wasn't plugged in for hours and the status hasn't changed. Are there any combinations or ideas on how I can actually use my computer?

Hold the Power button pressed until your Mac turns off completely. Note that if you just press it your Mac will just go to sleep mode or only the display will turn off, so it is necessary to keep it pressed for about 10 seconds. Then, turn it on again

  • MB Pro won't install os x mavericks after re-formatting

    Hi guys,
Basically, my macbook pro dec 2011 won't install mavericks os after I have formatted my mb.
What happens: with DU I checked the HD and no issues found, I formatted the macbook by using DU and erasing the HD (took about 4 hours - 3 times erase/overwrite procedure which was the second most safe way of erasing under options)..
I move on to install mavericks OS which at first asks me to login to my apple id, after which it says it will take 3 hours.. after an hour or so it starts saying 150 hours or whatever ridiculous number and it goes down and afterwards my mb just restarts itself..
Is my internal hard drive messed up physically or ??
    Thanks
    Max

Be sure to follow these directions carefully:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer.
Now, you can upgrade if you need to.

  • Mavericks won't install on newest mac mini fusion drive

I have a mac mini, latest version.  I have a fusion drive.
Mavericks won't install on that drive.  I get this message:
This disk doesn't use the GUID Partition Table scheme. Use Disk Utility to change the partition scheme. Select the Disk, choose the
partition tab, select the volume Scheme and then click Options.
Well, I did that, up to "choose the partition tab."  Then it says "you may only split this partition into two. To do this, click +."
I did that, and there were two partitions.  the only option left is to select apply, which I didn't.
The "options" were still greyed out.
    So now what?
    Thanks for any input.

Lion creates a recovery area with a minimal version of OS X and it may be unable to do so due to use over the years, and possibly other resizing operations (Boot Camp).  It could just need more space, if you only have less than 8gb free.  Lion shuffles and merges the two systems when it upgrades.  You can burn the image downloaded from App Store by finding the dmg file inside the "Install Mac OS X Lion.app" bundle, dragging it into disk utility, then burning from there.
Otherwise, you can appropriate a MBR/BIOS formatted 4GB thumbdrive, 8GB of either EFI or MBR/BIOS thumbdrive, flash storage device, or external hard drive, and format it, using the restore operation through disk utility to copy the contents of the installer disk to the media.  Exposed via the alt key before the Apple logo, should show the bootable media, where you can format over the former installation.
As always, backup your files when upgrading.  I recommend if your installion is over a year old to wipe and upgrade if you can't make otherwise the media bootable, using your 10.6 recovery dvd.
If you cannot find an external medium to backup your files before the upgrade, if you need to format via disk utility (Through 10.6 media), you can consider Dropbox as an option (2GB free account).
It's not uncommon for the partition to simply refuse operations, including upgrades and resizing.

  • I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for my iMac (Mavericks 10.9.4), downloaded it and have attempted to install it 10 or more times. I have done all the usual maintenance steps (repair permissions, repair disk, etc) and it still won't install. All goes well

I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for my iMac (Mavericks 10.9.4), downloaded it and have attempted to install it 10 or more times. I have done all the usual maintenance steps (repair permissions, repair disk, etc) and it still won't install. All goes well until the installer gets to "Running Package Scripts" then it stalls or hangs up and does not finish the installation. It runs and runs and runs. It never finishes. I wind up having to force quit the installer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Hi jtento ,
Kindly enable the Root Account for the MAC and then try the installation there (in the root account). Please find below the URL to enable the root account.
OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user

  • MacBook air won't install Mavericks, can't use utility to restore

I Tried to update the operating system on my 2013 MacBook air, it gets stuck about 12 minutes in then won't install. I have tried to use the disc utility to restore previous os but it says the disc needs repair but the repair function is not availabl. Any ideas how I can fix?
    thanks

It was is lion or 10.7, now when I start up it goes straight to the maverick installation prompt. It goes through this for a few minutes then comes up installation failed. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. So for some reason it's not allowing the installation of new so to be completed but I think it may have gone to far to restore old OS.
