Mavericks OSX Update 10.9.1 is out - fixes language problem

The new update to Mavericks fixes the problem with updates not showing, if the primary system language is not set to English:
Fixes an issue that prevented iLife and iWork apps from updating on non-English systems
It does not mention Aperture - but hopefully this problem has been fixed for Aperture as well with this update.

Actually, this is an id10T mistake. I rebooted to the wrong hard drive. Please disregard this problem. It is solved.

Your data is there, but in a different user. To access to your first user account, go to  > Log Out, and log in the old account with the data

HELP: WD External Hard drive disconnecting by itself after Maverick OSX update.

I just finished updating my OSX from Mountain Lion 10.8 to Maverick 10.9
I am using 15 inch Macbook Pro late 2011 processor is i7 and 4GB memory.
Before on ML I'm rarely or never expirience this where my external drive is disconnecting
by itself. I am using USB hub (10 ports) I have 2 HD's both are 1TB and on that usb port
my cooling pad is also connected as well the data plug for iphone. My USB port has another
power cable which is also in use.
Now I have three questions
1) Do you think that one of my HD has an issue? because this is the only one
that is disconnecting by it self? when I unplug and plug it back it shows to Utility Disk
but it is not mounting. I manage to restore it by clicking the repair button several time
but it keeps disconnecting by itself and I am not comfortable on doing this time to time.
2) Do you think updating to Maverick is one of the reason why this is happening?
3) What solution i can do to solve this issue.

It seems my issue is already solved I didn't expirience any auto ejecting anymore after I formated my 1TB using the Disk Utility. I already bring back the files that I removed before from my 1TB and so far its all good.
Another tip is if you will plug your external HD's to a usb port give a one interval slot because if you do there's a possibility that it may auto eject again, this happen to me since updating to Maverick but in Mountain Lion maybe it happen to be once or thrice maybe because of bad ejecting that i've done to my 1TB.
This all is as per my intuition, observation and pure guts but now im good and my usb's are not auto ejecting anymore from the day I'd format it to disk utility using erase (of course in exfat format) until now. I wish this will help others too...

Maverick OSX update crashed my computer and OS. My harddrive and OSX and WIN have been lost and are irreparable. What are the next steps?

Mavericks has crashed my MacBook Pro.
I was offered the upgrade as a free and reccomended Apple Software Update that arrived on my computer.
I installed Maverick received an error during installation saying the HD was bad. I ran utility disk and internet recovery and attempted to boot in safe mode to no avail. My computer no longer had an OS. (I ran both OSX and WIN on my new HD). I took it to the Apple store and it was determined it was a software failure (Maverick) and not my harddrive. The tech at Apple told me I could take it to a data recovery place on MY dime to attempt to recover anything from the HD. I ran several expensive architectural programs which are now lost. Any advice as which aveneue to take next is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Note, backing up is not a choice in computing. You either value your data or you don't. And when you install new software the drive is that much more at risk, if it is marginal. This is true of any operating system update because of the number of changes that happen at once.

Safari 5.0.1 update is out, fixed my problems

Had regular crashes related either to javascriptcore.dll or safari.exe on my Win7 box. This update seems to have resolved thoose problems, not crashing on the sites that used to give me problems, at least not yet. Recommend this upgrade for all, includes ability to add nifty extensions.

Both Safari and Apple Application Support were updated this time around. (AAS to 1.3.1 from 1.3.0.) I wonder which one helped with your crash? (Perhaps both ... JavaScriptCore.dll is AAS, Safari.exe is Safari.)

Just want to update the problem everybody is having downloading the new update. If you waited, and didn't try to reinstall or anything, it looks like a "fix" is coming to you. My previous ITunes was working fine so I decided to just wait it out and see if Apple would fix it. Knew it wasn't my computer because of all the same questions in this forum. And I want to let all to know that when I signed on to my computer today an Apple Software Update window popped up on my desktop. (Not the little one we've all been clicking on from the ITunes screen.). This came up right on my desktop. I clicked on it to download and it worked like a charm. After it was done downloading I pulled up ITunes and all looked great, all my purchases, songs were still there. I then plugged in my IPod and then my IPad and they both synced, etc., ....all is well again! So it you didn't try to re-install or anything, and have just been waiting and using your current version of ITunes, be patient. Looks like the fix will be coming to you, too.

Updated CUCM 10 software available to fix 'Heartbleed' problem?

Forgive my ignorance, but I've been looking at the notice about CUCM 10 being affected by the so called heartbleed problem, but I can't figure out if there's a new version of the software available for download or not. If there's an updated version, how can I get to it? I see this version available when I go to CUCM 10.0 downloads: 10.0(1.1000-1) ...and there are various installers available for download.
But I also see a 10.5(1) available now, but when I go to the downloads, all I see are OVA files.
Is there really an updated CUCM 10 installer that would be appropriate for us to update to for getting rid of the heartbleed issue?

You could try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove all traces of any existing versions of Reader prior to installing the version you want and updating it as required. Bridge update does not fix caching problems.

The 5.0.1.23 update for Bridge CS6 does NOT fix the problem of constantly re-caching layered TIF files.
I originaly reported the problem here on May 16, 2012.

At that time I also submitted a bug report via photoshop.com, and received an e-mail response from Adobe support confirming the problem had been replicated in their lab and promising a fix in the next update.
I've since tracked several other reports of this bug and related cache problems.
I assume that, at best, we will have to wait another 6 months or more for the next update. How can I assure this bug will be addressed?

Thank you for this bit of information. Maybe it means I can stop the deactivations/uninstall/reinstall/reactivate cycle to try yet another solution. And hopefully, this will stop the re-caching problem with other than tif files.
