Mavericks Premiere Elements 11 No Launch

I can't seem to open Premiere Elements 11 after downloading Mavericks. I purchased the App from the App store. Any tips?

Jonnyj3000 I would recommend double checking your installation logs for errors.  Please see Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements -http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html for information on how to locate and interpret the log files.  You are welcome to post any errors you discover to this discussion.

  • Why won't Premiere Elements 8 launch on windows 7?

I have installed photoshop and premiere elements 8 onto my new computer from the original disks that I purchased a few years ago.  Photoshop launches fine.  Element, however, goes into the welcome screen and all looks well...that is until I try to launch 'New Project' or even 'Organize' or 'Open Project'..I click the icon, it seems busy for about 20 seconds, then simply goes back to the welcome screen.  The program will not open..period!.. I have made sure the video driver is up to date, that Quick Time is up to date, I installed the update from the Adobe website to 8.1, even tried reinstalling the program..still nothing.. My kids rock band is coming out tonight to start their music video, and I am not ready to rock n roll over here...HELP!!!  ANY SUGGESTIONS?........

    Welcome to the forum.
This ARTICLE offers a checklist of things to do, to get PrE to run most smoothly, then goes into several links on tuning up one's computer and their OS, and finally has links on troubleshooting, which rather work up in "degree of difficulty."
Also, you state that your audio and video drivers are up to date. Did you check on the mfgr's. Web sites, and compare their latest drivers with those that you have installed? If not, that would be my very first step. If one relies on Windows, or any utility to tell if they have the latest drivers, they will likely be at least 6 mos. out of date. Same with a new computer - the drivers will likely be 6 mos, or more, out of date. One needs to go to each mfgr's. Web site and check.
Also, if there are Audio editing programs on the computer, see this ARTICLE for some possibilities.
Good luck, and if nothing is helpful, then please list the full specs. of your computer.

  • Why isn't Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Launching???

I've had Adobe Premiere Elements 12 ever since I got my windows 8 laptop. I upgraded to 8.1 a while ago and still APE12 worked fine. But lately, about 2-3 weeks ago, Adobe stopped working. I will double click the launcher and it simply WILL NOT LAUNCH.
My computer apparently has all the requirements to run it, considering i ran it for years before this happened. how do I fix this ?

From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•You MUST use an account with Administrator Privileges to run Premiere Elements
•(Doing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will sometimes fix "odd" errors)
•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 12 with the 12.1 update)
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.9.4"---not just "Mac"
•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•How many and what speed are your hard drive(s)... ie 5400rpm or 7200rpm or?
    And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have an orange line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?
•What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
•What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
•Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
•For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
•-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12 will launch and then vanish

Okay so just bought Adobe Premiere Elements 12. Loaded it up and went to run it. First time I ran it I get the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Launch pad, you know where you select the Organizer or the video editor. I select video editor, it gives me a sub menu asking if I'm opening an existing Project or a new project. I select new project. the Video editor opens and I get a pop up windows stating "Please Log-in with an Admin account to access Adobe premiere Elements." I hit 'ok' and the video editor promptly vanishes leaving me at the launch pad which I close. I go to the short cut, right click on it and select "run as administrator." and I re-launch the program. Back to launch pad, select video editor, select new project. The video editor loads and appears to be working for about 3 seconds and then it vanishes. No error window, no crash report nothing. Just 'pop' it's gone.
Any idea what I can do about this? I'd really like to use the software I just bought.
    Compute specs:
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
    -updated system drives yesterday
    Prossessor: AMD Phenom 2 X6
    8Gb ram
NVidia GeForce GTX 460 4GB card
    -Drivers updated yesterday
Primary drive is a solid state 128gb
2 secondary SATA drives at 1TB each
Premiere Elements is loaded on the 1st of the 2 secondary drives.

    Please confirm...
    a. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges as well as the Run As Administrator from the right click of the program's desktop icon?
    - I am running it from an admin level account.
    b. Did you install the program to the default drive C location...you mention "Premiere Elements is loaded on the 1st of the 2 secondary drives", but is it the drive designated C?
    - No. all I have on my primary drive (C:\) is windows, drivers and scratch disk. All my programs outside of windows are loaded on the drive designated J:\
    c. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
    - I did not before, but I just updated it before responding here. No effect.
    d. Does your computer use just that NVIDIA video card/graphics care? Is there a second card displayed in Device Manager/Display Adapters?
    - the NVIDA GeForce GTX 460 is my only video adapter.
    e. Does the problem exist with and without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    - Yes. I shut off Kaspersky and tried running the program via the launch pad. no change.
You say that the crashes occur when you select Video and new project. What happens if you select Organizer instead? Still crash?
    - If I go into Organizer the system seems to run fine. I loaded Organizer about 20 minutes ago and it's still up and running just fine. But in that same time span I've tried to launch premier elements several times. It still crashes after a few seconds.
New data though. Can't tell if it's from Premier, or something else. a couple minutes after the latest attempt to run Premiere Elements I found a new window with the header "CAHeadless Debug Event". The Window reads:
    CAHeadless has encounter an error.
    [..\..\Src\Sequence\Sequence.cpp-2233]
and then I have a button that reads "Continue".

  • How do I install the additional content file (PRE7_Cont_WWEFGJ) that I downloaded with Premiere Elements?

Additional content for Premiere Elements 7 can be found by following the link in the article linked to at the end of this FAQ.
You'll need to log in to your Adobe account, and then you'll see the link to the download on the same page as the Free Trial download.
John Venediger received this from Tech Support, based on his problem installing additional content (including templates and themes):
When trying to install/open the contents file (PRE7_Cont_WWEFGJ) you get this message - The setup has detected that premiere elements is currently in use. Please close Premiere Elements, then launch setup again despite the fact that Premiere Elements is not in use.
To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps:
    1. Right-click the Microsoft® Windows XP® taskbar and select Task
    Manager.
    2. Under the Applications tab of the Task Manager, please ensure Adobe
Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements is not running in the background.
    3. If Adobe Premiere Elements or PhotoShop Elements is running in the background, please
select the application and press End Task.
    4. Next, switch to the Processes tab and look for a process named Adobe
    Premiere Elements.exe. and Photoshop ElementsEditor.exe.
    5. If Adobe Premiere Elements.exe or Photoshop ElementsEditor.exe. is running, please select the process and press End Process.
If you are still unable to install the additional content, please refer
to our knowledge base document kb404997. Perform step 8 and try the
installation again. Continue to step 7 if necessary. To access the
document, simply copy the following and paste it in the address bar of
    your web browser:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?loc=en_us&product=premiere_elements

Give Adobe Support a call or contact the TCS team at [email protected] - something in your environment is causing the installer to fail (I'd guess).

  • Premiere Elements 11 Editor freezes on launch

Unable to launch Elements 11 on Mac OS X Mavericks. Software was initially purchased and installed over App Store, before upgrade to Mavericks and was working fine. I did not use Elements lately and just bought new MacBook Pro with Maverics installed. The old Mac was reset to factory default. On the new one I restored purchases from AppStore. Installation was fine, but I am unable to launch the software at all. Any chance to help please?

Recently the ID taliz had similar issues and posted them here.

This user later reported that the solution was found with the help of Adobe Customer Service.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1340212?tstart=0
But, when asked just what that fix involved, there was no follow up from taliz. If taliz is reading this thread, perhaps we could ask again for the Adobe Customer Service fix in this case.
If no one comes forward with help in this thread, it might be a good idea to contact Adobe Customer Service to find out if it will offer free troubleshooting service for your issue.

  • Premiere Elements 13 won't launch in Windows 8.1 (Click the icon and nothing happens)

I'm running the trial version of Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8.1 64-bit. It's a brand new PC built for video editing. Everything worked perfectly for about a week and all of a sudden I'm unable to start the program. I click the icon and nothing happens. No splash screen, no error code, no spinning circle cursor.
I have the latest video card drivers for my graphics card.
I've tried uninstalling the program, removed every last Adobe file from my PC, uninstalled all instances of Microsoft Visual C++ and reinstalled Adobe Premiere Elements 13. I tried the same with a fresh download of the program. Neither worked.
I've tried installing a couple .dll files based on a similar thread (where a program called iLivid was the issue). I don't have iLivid on this PC and adding the new drivers didn't work.
For the few days that the software was working I loved it and was ready to purchase. Unfortunately I won't be able to buy it until I can get it to launch on my PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

My major problem was with the reliability of the uninstall reinstall of Premiere Elements 12 Windows. I did not encounter any issues in this regard with 11. And, I have only looked at the 30 day tryout of 13 from Adobe. My computers are Windows XP 32 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8 and later 8.1 64 bit. The following describes what got me through the worse of these hassels.

I am not sure if the above will work for you with 13. But, it would be worthwhile to check them out.
Since you are dealing with current version 13, it might be a good idea to get Adobe via its Adobe Chat involved, with the hope of some remote control of your computer troubleshooting to try to get to the core of the issue. Chat Panels have been hard to come by for some of these issues, but let us try this route.
Please click on the following link
    Contact Customer Care
    Premiere Elements
    Adobe ID and signing in
Adobe ID, sign in, and account help
    Chat Panel
If the link does not hold its set, then you will need to navigate to the Chat Panel using the above titles as guides.
Depending on the outcome....if you purchased Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe direct within the last 30 days, you can request your
money back from Adobe. If you purchased elsewhere, then you are left to deal with the return policy of the seller.
We will be watching for further developments.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 11 unable to launch - User receives Debug & Runtime Errors

Adobe Premiere Elements 11 unable to launch - User receives Debug & Runtime Error.  The Adobe program launches and the Premiere Elements splash screen displays.  Once the "Loading ImportQuicktime.pm" function completes the following errors display:
The program has been re-installed without success.  The only way to open the program is to "Run as Different User" windows 7 function, using the local admin account.  The Preferences Folders have been deleted and recreated without success.  Any information for this error will be great.  Thank you for your time.

    Hi UBDEV,
Thanks for posting on the Adobe forums.

  • Premiere Elements 11 wont launch on my MacBookPro

I installed Premiere Elements 11 today and it wont launch.
The launch window doesn't get past:
    Loading SmartSoundAdobePlugin.bundle
before I get the Adobe Premiere Elements 11 quit unexpectedly; report.
I click re-open and the problem persists.

    Memory Module: BANK 1/DIMM0, 8 GB, DDR3, 1600 MHz,
    OS X version 10.8.4
I have re-installed twice and received no installation errors.
Would appreciate any tips on what I am doing wrong.

    Good on you Steve,
      and thank you.
In addition to following your two tips, I came across some additional information related to fonts. I validate the font library and reloaded it. I was then able to open Premiere Elements 11; SonicFire plug-in still didn't work.
I found some information in the forum on a related SonicFire patch - installed the patch and everything is working fine. Turned on Retina display and life is good.
You're worth your weight in gold - thanks again.

  • Premiere Elements 11 won't launch at all.

I installed Premiere Elements 11 from a disk that also has Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements launches successfully. When I try to launch PE 11, either from the Start menu or the desktop icon, I get the round "swirl" for a moment, then it disappears and nothing happens. I also right-clicked and selected the option to run as administrator. I got the User Account Control message and I clicked OK.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium on my HP desktop. I tried to update the driver (ATI Radeon HD 5450) but it said I have the latest driver.
I appreciate any suggestions or help.

Have you answered the classical question yet, that is, do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 11 Windows 7 64 bit? And, did you right click the Premiere Elements 11 desktop icon and selected Run As Administrator.
What about deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file? Have you been there and done that?
    Local Disc C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete.
If deleting just the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file in that 11.0 Folder does not resolve the problem, then try deleting that whole 11.0 Folder.
In all of that, make sure that you are working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives on so that you can see the complete path.
Have you checked your antivirus program to make sure that it is not involved in this issue?
Have you already gone down the road where you deactivate in Help Menu/Deactivate, close out of there, and uninstall (Control Panel) and reinstall?
Have you tried launching the program from Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file in the Program Files. The desktop icon goes to Adobe Premiere Elements 11.exe which opens the program to the Welcome Screen. The Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file bypasses the Welcome Screen.
    Local Disk C

Please check out the above to rule them in or out of the matter and then we can decide what next if the problem persists.
Is Adobe expecting you to follow up with them?
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements 11 won't launch

    G'day,
I downloaded the trial version of PRE11 a few weeks ago, but I couldn't get it to run. Upon launch I get the welcome screen with two choices, to launch the Organizer or the Video Editor, but neither of these actually start. It seems as it is trying though, as I see a scrolling line below my choice after clicking it. No error code or anything like it, it simply won't start (and I don't see any process starting either).
Nevertheless, a few days ago I bought PRE11 (Win/Mac DVD, English) and installed it. Exactly the same behaviour as with the trial, apart from one thing. When I try to lanuch the Video Editor I get the licence agreement. After agreeing, it's the same thing though, nothing happens.
I've read this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4773135) and tried to see if I had any of the symptoms described, or if any of the suggested solutions worked. So far, no luck. I tried Large_Donkey's solution (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4893868#4893868) with the msvcr80.dll and msvcr100.dll files, but it didn't make any difference. Same thing with VDOsurfer's reply (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4903592#4903592) I also tried primarykeytech's suggestion (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4905283#4905283) and downloaded Dependency Walker and ran both Premiere Elements 11.exe and Premiere Elements.exe. At first, it reported that IEShims.dll and gpscv.dll was missing/couldn't be loaded, so I added these to the Premiere Elements folder. Then I got a message (still while running Premiere Elements.exe in Dependency Walker) saying that sysntfy.dll was missing, so I added this one as well to the Premiere Elements folder. After this, I still get three messages in Dependency Walker, but no further description on which files it can't find:
"Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module."
And none of these changes made any difference, I tried to launch the Video Editor and/or Organizer, but it's the same thing; won't launch, no error message. I've now resetted everything back to the way it was on installation, and tried to continue finding any solution.
Some specs, even if maybe not all of these are relevant. If any other specs are needed, just inform me.
    Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe V2
    CPU: Intel i7 950 3,06GHz
    PSU: Corsair HX 650W

    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
    Monitor: Dell U2711
Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, I tried the blacklist approach by adding a "blacklist.txt" file to the VST plugins folders I have, but to no avail. I also read the last post you made in the "Failure of Premiere to Launch - One Possibility VST's" thread, with the answers from Adobe Engineering. As that post was made almost 2 years ago, I somehow think this wouldn't be an issue in PrE 11 anymore?
Anyway, while trying to launch Premiere Elements.exe ~200 times the last 24h, I've not noticed anything strange in Event Viewer, no errors or warnings connected to the launch of PrE (or, for that matter, no errors or warnings at all during the time I try to launch the program). One thing I did notice, though, is that the process Premiere Elements 11.exe actually starts (I chose not to display the welcome screen every time, but to launch the Video Editor right away) but then quickly terminates. Utually it manage to get between 15-20MB of memory before it crashes and terminate the process, only takes 1 or 2 seconds from launch to termination.
Slowly losing my hope to actually discover the cause, as I'm shooting in the dark evey time (not getting any error messages or hints on what actually fails). Really needed to use PrE this week, maybe have to find some free alternative on the interwebs.
    Regards Henrik
Edit: Searching deeper on the Adobe forums regarding VST scanning issues with PrPro/E, and it baffles me how long this error seems to have been going on, even if it's not 100% certain that is the error in my case.
Edit2: Once again a shot in the dark, but I'm thinking my troubles may be due to multiple hard drives? As things are scattered over 3 discs (OS on one, programs on the second one and personal data on the third one) this might cause some path/reference issues? I was thinking this since Depencency Walker gives me the following error messages:
"Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module."
And it also states that it can't find IESHIMS.DLL and GPSVC.DLL (a road I already have been down earlier). This got me thinking PrE can't find the correct files from where it is installed (E:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere Elements 11). On the other hand, I'm getting the exact same error messages on Photoshop CS5 (which runs fine), and the same two dll files seems to be missing. Even tried running a few other programs that work, such as games, though Depencency Walker, and even they seems to miss these dll files.

  • Premiere elements 12 does not launch, nothing happens

I've been using Premiere Elements 12 a few weeks ago and it used to work fine but since yesterday I'm not able to launch it. I don't get any error message, just nothing happens.

After chloroform started this thread, soon afterward BillMMBill introduced similar issues. It gets confusing when more than one exchange of information is going on at the same time and user specific Q&A from more than one user is interwoven. Consequently, good idea to monitor the results in this thread, but it would probably be to your advantage to start your own new thread if you do not see answers in the thread we are in now going in your direction.
I have been trying to weave in and out of chloroform and BillMMBill specifics.
For now I would offer this
    a. Are you working with Photoshop Elements or Premiere Elements?
    b. Have you read all the information in the links provided in this thread?
    c. Have you attempted to uninstall/ccleaner/reinstall the Adobe Reader if you suspect that its update is at the core of your problems?
If you are dealing with version 12 (the latest version) and if problems defy resolution, you may want to contact Adobe via Adobe Chat to discuss the topic "Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up". Other choices might bounce you back to the forums.
    Contact Customer Care
After the link opens, click on "Still Need Help. Contact Us." to bring up the Adobe Chat to discuss Premiere Elements Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up.
If this is really a Photoshop Elements 12 based issue, then please check out the SLStore and SLCache Folder fix in

  • Premiere elements 12 on Mackbook Pro running Maverick

Premiere elements 12 on macbook pro running maverick. Crashes on opening with multi page error message.  reinstall does not help

Also, don't forget to run a Disk Verification and a Font Check on your Mac. Corrupt fonts can cause some real problems for this program.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/940869?tstart=0
It also matters where you got your copy of the program from. The version available in the App Store has had so many problems that Apple pulled it.
There may also be issues with your Retina display, if you have that feature.

  • Premiere Elements 12 installed sign in cycle welcome screen no launch

For the last two days I have been trying to install and run Adobe Premiere Elements 12.
Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1
Dell Precision T5600, on an Intel Xeon CPU E5-2609 @ 2.40 GHz
    16 GB of RAM
    64-bit operating system
    NVIDIA Quadro 4000 graphics card
I selected the 64 bit version to install.  It launches the Install Wizard.  After several windows it asks for the serial number.  I enter the serial number and it completes the installation.  I restart my computer.
I launch the program and after a few moments the "welcome screen" pops up.  I select "new projects" under the video editor.  It then asks for me to "sign in" with my Adobe ID.  After a few seconds it seems to be verifying the serial number.  After sometime, nothing happens.  The program does not launch the video editor.  Instead, it goes back to the welcome window and continues the cycle over again.
No error messages.  It just continues in this loop.
After rebooting my computer and relaunching, it repeats this process, but it sometimes does not even return to the welcome window.  It just exits quietly to the desktop.  No error messages.  If I pull up the "task manager", I can see that the application is not running(therefore not listed) in the task manager.

  • Unable to launch Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - Says AdPrE10 has stopped working

I downloaded Adobe Premiere Elements and bought a product license via my workplace.
I was able to install successfully, but when I launch the program, it says Premiere Elements 10 has stopped working. I have not been able to launch the program. I was having the same issues when I was using the trial version. Please help,
I need to work on editing videos rightaway and it is ridiculous that a program that I have paid money to buy is not even launching to begin with. I can't even imagine the trouble I am going to have trying to use this version.
Please don't send me thousands of instructions on downloading and installation. I have been able to download and install and added my serial key number. I see the icon on the desktop, It just doesn't launch. See error image.
    Thanks

I am not looking for sarcasm.
Let's address that for a moment.
I replied to your OP about 8 mins. after it was moved here. Much of that time was gathering the links to those articles, most of which I wrote, and have bookmarked. Each contains several links (one, probably 15 links).
In ~ 30 mins. you report that there was nothing helpful in any of those articles or the ones linked to, from them. Though I wrote the articles (most anyway), it would have taken me that long to read each article, and just open the links, with almost zero time to do any of the things suggested. Just tracking down error and warning messages in Event Viewer, and following the links in any of those, would have taken at least that long.
You state that you had the same issues with the trial version.
I had the same issue when I was trying to use the trial version.
In the world of troubleshooting, this is a pretty fair indicator that there is something wrong with your computer, or your OS. If nothing else, it indicates that a problem existed before your recent installation of PrE.
Now I will have to search for return/exchange options since it is not launching by double clicking like every program does.
Actually, Adobe makes this part very easy. Just return their software, within 30-days of purchase, and you get your money back.
Sorry that I could not help you,
