Mavericks server only serves one calendar per user

Hi everybody,
I'm a little bit stuck and could use some help. My situation:
I've installed mavericks server, configured dns and open directory, started file sharing, defined home folders for network users on the server, created network users and started calendar & adressbook services.
I've bound a mavericks client to the server and I'm able to log into the client with a network account. The home directory lies on the server and everything is running ok. I've created two calendars with the account and entered some appointments. Logging into another client everthing shows up, as it should be.
So far so good.
Now I'm trying to add the calendar of the above network account to an iphone or to another account on the client. Unfortunately the server presents on the iphone as well on the client only one empty calendar. I suppose it's a new calendar and not one of the calendars I've created upfront on the server.
Any clues?

You need to uninstall Remote desktop session host feature. After removing it, you will default two connections which does not need to purchase RD CALs'.

Permit only one access per user on guest portal Cisco ISE

Could you please help me to figure it out if it´s possible to create a guest account on cisco ISE which permit only one concurrent access?
We don't want to have multiple devices registering with the same account, just one different account for each device.

Hi Gino,
You can restrict guests to having only one device connected to the network at a time. When guests attempt to connect with a second device, the currently-connected device is automatically disconnected from the network.
This is a global setting affecting all Guest portals.
Step 1 Choose Administration > Web Portal Management > Settings > Guest > Portal Policy.
Step 2 Check the Allow only one guest session per user option.
Step 3 Click Save.

How to only synchronize one specific LDAP user group with SAP?

Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this in. I want to have continuous one-way synchronization of users from my LDAP server to my SAP central system. I've started configure in SAP using transaction SM59 and LDAP. Can I somewhere set that only one specific LDAP user group shall be transferred to SAP (they do not need to be assigned to any specific group, profile, role in SAP) - or should this be done on the LDAP server side (or is it at all possible)?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the User Group field in the report RSLDAPSYNC_USER only concerns SAP user groups right? This would therefore not be sufficient since I want to select the users to synchronize based on user groups in the directory.

We've used a repository constant to specify the LDAP filter for reading users / groups from the LDAP target.
E.g. LDAP_FILTER_USERS (&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user))
Then we also have a constant for the LDAP_STARTING_POINT
For our AD Group Initial Load we filter according to these settings:
LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS = (objectclass=group)
LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS = ou=IDMManagedGroups,ou=Groups,dc=cfstest,dc=le,dc=ac,dc=uk
The above example only reads AD groups starting at the specified OU
Then in a Job From LDAP Pass the LDAP URL looks like this:
LDAP://%$rep.LDAP_HOST%:%$rep.LDAP_PORT%/%$rep.LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS%?*?SUB?%$rep.LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS%

Limite RemoteApp to one instance per user

Hello everyone,
A customer asked us to make an (unfinished) application available to them. Since this application is unfinished we want to make sure that only one person at a time is using it and that under no circumstances the customer can copy the application.
RemoteApp seems perfect for this, however standard it allows users to open the same application as much as they like with the same credentials.
Is there a way to limit the RemoteApp applications to one per user session?

One calendar two users, collaborate not share.

I want one calendar that my wife and I can both edit from our respective macs. Not share but actually edit. I want to be able to edit her entries and she wants to edit mine. Is there no way to do this?

the answer differs whether you want to achieve this on a local network at home or if you want to achieve this over the net, when both of you are in different locations, or if you want to be able to acces your ical calendars on the net.

10.7.5 Server - AFP Userdirectorys, one iMac & one MBA per User, practicable?

I wanted to ask you whether someone has the title described in the constellation in operation.
So far running all local accounts access the 10.7 server resources (AFP) with the OD credentials.
As the number of employees increase, two more locations to be included and also a need for synchronized user profiles on iMac & MBA arose I wanted to know if anyone cared for a similar configuration and can perhaps tell me how well it runs.
Are there for example.
-Problems in matching/syncing the mobile user profile account with server and than to network account and back?
-Is there a way individual users folders in all three locations be present?
All client devices run10.7.5.
Maybe someone who could tell me in german, sorry for that I'll try my best if anyone could help me in english, too!

Try reindexing the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
Reindex messages.
If that doesn't work try deleting MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3.
Quit the application.
You need to look in your user Library. Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Mail/V2/Mail Data/MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3. Move the file to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the file from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return thefile to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your User library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.5. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

Installed mavericks server and now some users don't have access to folders!? Why and how do I fix it???

I have just upgraded the server and os to mavericks and now users that used to be able to open and save or even log in are now locked out with the server saying wrong password. I reset their password and still nothing. I created a new user and they can't even log in? Why now? And how do I fix this. It seems that some users and groups now don't have access and all that was done was to let the group open a shared folder that they have access before. I reset everything and am now very frustrated!!!

I decided to go back to Mountain Lion for my server using TimeMachine backup, and stay with Maverick for my imacs

Tcp server single thread per user?

I am working on a spam filter, which is implemented as an IMAP proxy server (web worker). Currently, I use TcpListener to listen for clients, and when one connects, I spin off a thread which listens to them and pushes their requests to the IMAP server. I
also create a thread that listens to the IMAP server and pushes responses down to the client.
I have some concerns about the performance of this when we have hundreds or thousands of connections. Do you think I should be concerned about the number of threads? If so, does anyone have some alternate suggestions for handling the requests?

How can I restrict one stream per user?

I have made a mp3-streamer in flash. Users must log on to a
web page in order to access my player. If one user logs in once
it's all OK. The problem occurs if a user "share" his account with
multiple others and log in twice (or n-times). Now I have no
control on how many users that can log onto the system.
I'm looking for a solution where for instance the first one
who logs in gets to play the stream, and all others that log into
the same account are refused access to streaming. I'm not a
back-end programmer, so I hope this is something that can be solved
using FMS. Is there a known working solution to this problem or
some features on FMS that can lock streaming to the first user.
I've tried sending in the username, however if user#1 stops
the stream user #2 is able to take over the stream, so now user # 1
is refused the stream.

FMS does support connections to web services, and can make
http requests in a number of ways. I like to use remoting, but you
can also use loadVars, XML or an XML Socket connection. The best
approach will be dictated by the services you need to connect to.
For remoting, you want to look into netservices.asc , and you can
find some examples/tutorials at flash-db.com
About your scenario
1) Player sends a ticket (SHA or something)
The client (.swf would pass this data to FMS in the
netconnection.connect() argument.

No problem here. All you need to do is have your FMS app make
the request of the authentication server (based on the token value
provided in the client's connect request) before accepting the
connection. See the docs for application.onConnect()

Here's the part you'll need some new structure for. You're
going to need to be able to reference other clients that are logged
in under the username of the new client. When a client connects, a
corresponding client is stored in the application's clients[]
array, but it's up to you to add your own variables to each client
object so you have something to reference them by in your
functions. The really cool thing is, once you have a means of
picking the client out of the list, FMS auto-resolves to the client
itself, and you can target the client with other functions.
Take this server side code for example

Now the username is a variable in the client object. To find
a client with a specific user name, you just need to loop through
the application.clients array and look for a match:

Of course, this is only one approach, but it's about the most
straighforward method I can think of.
In the case of your app, I suggest you send two values to the
FMS app in the client connect() argument... an SHA token, and the
username. You'll use the username for checking user conflicts, and
the SHA to verify the session (this should be a one time thing...
the token expires after a single use)

FDS only creating one item per session

I'm using a ColdFusion data source assigned to a MS-SQL
database. The database has a primary key with data type set to
smallint, auto-increment/identity = yes.
I'm using the CFC wizard to create my CFCs and actionscript
valueObject. My application is basic so far, just a data grid and a
3-field form. When I run my app, the data grid populates properly
with the data from my MS-SQL db. I can fill out the form and submit
the data, which adds another record to my database and is
immediately reflected in the data grid. However, if I try to add
additional records, the application does not do anything. I have to
refresh my app each time I want to add a new record.
I'm using DataService to handle my data (along with FDS which
is running on my server).
here's my basic setup

So I fill the fields out (field1, 2, 3) and hit the submit
button, which calls newRecord(). This will insert my newly created
record into my database and will also immediately display in the
datagrid. But from this point on, no new records can be added
without manually refreshing the browser.
My work-around for this is adding ds.release(); and
ds.fill(ac); after ds.createItem(myObject); While this works, it's
very clunky. Each record I add clears the datagrid and repopulates
it, creating a "flash" of the datagrid in which things disappear
and then reappear. It's only a minor cosmetic flaw, but to myself
it's an eye sore. I've created MS access db apps using the same
code and I've never had to release and refill my ds.
So what could be going on that would prevent new items from
being added? I am 100% sure that my app fails when calling
ds.createItem() twice or more times.

Uh. I should have put the version number in the title. I've happily ripped more than one CD after another in the past. Currently running Windows XP with all it's attendant updates and the latest build of iTunes. However I've just realised I was controlling the PC via Remote Desktop at the time which would appear to be the cause of the problem, although I'm pretty sure Windows Explorer noticed the change of CD contents at the time. Anyway, working locally normal service is resumed.

Only 1 Virtual domain per user in Cisco Prime Infrastructure ?

I wanted to add several Virtual Domains in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 (the UI allows it). But then I observe that the user can only see the first Virtual Domain (the first par alphabetical order).
Is it normal (by design), or is it a bug, or is there something that understand wrong ?

A user can have multiple virtual domain assigned , but only one is active at login.
Anyway the user can change the current virtual domain using the virtual domain drop-down list at the right top of the page.

Find/Change Grep only finds one instance per paragraph, where am I going wrong?

I've been using a Find/Change Grep to find any price with a comma and change that comma to a thin space (Newspaper's editorial style).
But the Grep only finds the first instance of this per paragraph.
Sample text...
"$200,000 $200,000 $200,000.
text at start of paragraph $200,000
$200,000 text at end of paragraph
tab $200,000."
In the sample the grep would miss the second and third price on the first line.
I've been using...
Find...
(?<=\$)(\d{3})\,?(\d{3})
also tried (\$\d{3})\,?(\d{3})
Change to...
$1~<$2
Is there anything I can add to find these last two prices?
I've been using this in combination with Batch Find Replace script, so different greps are set up for 5,6 and 7 digit numbers that start with $.

Programs freeze frequently only for one of four users on iMac

When I log on to the imac with my user (with administrator rights), the user interface frequently freezes. The keyboard or mouse does not work any more. It then helps to restart Finder using cmdaltesc.
When logging on with the three other users, this problem does not occur.
Do you have any idea how to fix that problem?

Usually this means something you've installed in your Home folder or cache files or preference files are corrupted. Get a utility such as TinkerTool System and use it to clean all of your user caches and to check your preference files. Consider deleting the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.dock.plist files then log out and back in. Check your Login Items for any that may be incompatible and temporarily try removing any third-party preference panes you may have installed. See also:

For disk repairs use Disk Utility. For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior; DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. TechTool Pro provides additional repair options including file repair and recovery, system diagnostics, and disk defragmentation. TechTool Pro 4.5.1 or higher are Intel Mac compatible; Drive Genius is similar to TechTool Pro in terms of the various repair services provided. Versions 1.5.1 or later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep. Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts had been significantly reduced in Tiger and Leopard. These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defrags files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems.
I would also recommend downloading the shareware utility TinkerTool System that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old logfiles and archives, clearing caches, etc. Other utilities are also available such as Onyx, Leopard Cache Cleaner, CockTail, and Xupport, for example.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack (not compatible with Snow Leopard.) If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the commandline. Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack is not compatible with Snow Leopard.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
5. Carbon Copy Cloner (Donationware)
6. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
7. Intego Personal Backup (Commercial)
8. Data Backup (Commercial)
9. SilverKeeper 2.0 (Freeware)
10. MimMac (Commercial)
11. Tri-Backup (Commercial)

I have an Ipad, Iphone and PC. I have Icloud on the devices. My Ipad and Iphone show all my calendars and the PC will only show one calendar. This just changed recently - why I don't know. How can I get my PC/Icloud connection to show all calendars?
