Mavericks update locked me out of my Macbook Air and insists on a keychain password to let me in.nto my computer at all because it keeps asking for a keychain password, and I've never had one.

I just updated Mavericks because I was unable to get Google Chromecast to work with my MacBook Air.  When it rebooted it insisted on my entering my login keychain for every single program on the computer.  I have no idea what a login keychain is, and my password doesn't work.  I can't get past the opening page and my only options are to enter the login keychain, sleep, restart, or shutdown.  What do I do?

Thanks.   My problem is that I never had a keychain login password, and even if I did I can't get past the login, so I can't change my keychain password or delete keychains.  All I can do are enter the keychain login or reboot, which puts me right back where I started.

  • HT4623 I can't update my apps on my iPad because it keeps asking for an outdated username and password which is different to my current one

I can't update my apps in my iPad because it asks me to sign in to an outdated id which is different to my current Apple ID

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them. If you bought the apps with old username and password, you have to continue to use them to update the apps.
If you changed the username because you got a new email address, sign out of your old ID in Settings>iTunes and App Store. Tap the old ID and sign out then sign in with the new/changed ID.

  • Problems with upgrading my iphone to v6 - I am not happy!  It deleted all of my apps, so I had to reload them.  Now many of the apps do not work - they keep asking for my apple ID and PW but then never open.

I kept getting reminders to update my iphone to v6, so I did so and I am not happy!  It deleted all of my apps, so then I had to reload them.  Now many of the apps do not work - when I try to open them they keep asking for my apple ID and PW and when I enter this it just goes away and never opens.  Anyone else had this issue?

Happened to me once awhile back. The exact same thing. What I did to get everything working again was open up itunes on PC and click on "Apps" section (not the one in your iphone section, but the one in the "Libraries" section near the top). Then proceed to totally delete all of the apps that aren't working (if it asks if you want to send to recycle bin click yes). Re-sync phone, which will remove them from the phone. And, finally, re-install them. It was a pain, but the only thing that worked. Hope it works for you. Good luck!

  • Keeps asking for my hotmail password and saying its wrong stopped recieving mail

keeps asking for my hotmail password and have stopped recieving mail

Mail asks for your password when it cannot contact the Server. It presumes [usually incorrectly] you told it the wrong password, and asks for a better one. The one you enter replaces the one that is stored.
But often the reason it cannot connect is that the Mail Server holding your emails is temporarily DOWN.
Ignore those requests and take that account Online again later.
(You may have to re-enter the password, because it often clobbers your good password with the one you enter, and sometimes does not store ANY password after that stupid dialog box.)

i forgot my security questions and i want to buy something but i cant because it keeps asking for the questions what do i do?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • Why does mavericks keep asking for my login password?

why does mavericks keep asking for my login password?

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
              Change Settings for Keychain "login"
In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
    If the box marked
              Keep login keychain unlocked
    is not checked, check it.
    Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • The last apple ID used on my App Store is stuck how do I change back to my apple ID? I can't download anything because its not asking for my apple ID and password, help?

help, the last apple ID used to download in my ipad2 is stuck, I can't download anything because its not asking for my apple ID and password, how do I change it back to mine?

Again, this only affects you if someone *redownloaded* content with a different ID. In my case, I emailed iTunes Store support, explained the situation, and they reset the counter.  I recommend you try the same
If you read discussion boards, this is a significant change from a year ago, when Apple told people in the same situation to go f&$# themselves.  Clearly it's dawning on them that this is a stupid policy, and my guess is if people keep complaining they'll change it to something more reasonable.  Remember, it wasn't that long ago you couldn't re-download content at all.
Apple can't really afford to play hardball on this. Sure, the hardcore fanboys will always say "Thank you sir, may I have another" whatever Apple throws at them,  but the rest of us will just switch to Amazon, which has none of these restrictions.

  • HT201303 Keeps asking for my security code and I know it's last 3 on card

Why it won't let me get free apps with my card keeps taking me to billing info and asking my security code

HOW TO FIX "INVALID SECURITY CODE" PROBLEM:
Since apple's "customer support" consists of a whole bunch of ******** derelicts who blame you or your credit card company for this message, I had to take it upon myself to figure out a way around the problem.  All you have to do is change your billing information in iTunes from your credit card to PayPal.
I was getting this same ridiculous "invalid security code" message when I knew I had entered it correctly!
It's funny, because PayPal recognized it as a valid account and security code, and now all my apps finally work again.
    Open iTunes
    Go to the Store
On the right, click on "Account"
Next to "Payment Type", click "Edit"
Click the PayPal logo and either enter your existing PayPal account info or create a new one (as I did)
I'm not a fan of PayPal, therefore I never had one.  I created one really quickly and even used the same account that mysteriously stopped working.  (AND WITH NO PROBLEMS... THANKS, APPLE)
I really hope this helps anyone with this same problem as it is really frustrating when somebody **cough cough apple** tells you that you're doing something wrong when you know you're not, and takes no liability whatsoever when the error is on their behalf.
    Happy Apping.... For now

  • All Adobe products keep asking me to license - over and over!

I have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and have had for months.  The past 10 days or so, it keeps asking me to sign in and license the "trial" of this product.  Every time I use it.  This is frustrating and a waste of my time.

It's not asking for a serial number.  It either keeps asking me to Login in to my account to continue, Complete the Registration (when I start Acrobat - and when it takes me to the page, it is completed and there is no option to Submit/Save/End), or pick between License the Software or Continue with Trial.  I have been using this software for months and have not changed anything.  The only thing I did a week or so before this started, was to utilize some new fonts through Creative Cloud.   Previously it always kept me logged in and never asked me this repeatedly.  Even when I login in and start another application, it still asks me.
    Frustrating.

  • Hp pro 8500 keeps asking for maganta ink when it's already a new one, then loose image, please help

    HP PRO8500
KEEPS ASKING FOR MAGANTA INK, THEN LOOSE IMAGE, I ALREADY REPLACED INK TWICE BUT ISSUE STILL PERSIST.
    PLEASE HELP

Ok, finally got it fixed !
Here's what was causing the issue, and what I did to fix it :
I had free content in my iTunes download queue that I got from the "iTunes 12 days of Christmas" promotion, but the problem was that some of the items (two HD episodes) were too large to fit in my harddrive (I'm running low on free hd space) - so each time I was running iTunes I had to cancel the downloading of those items. On my iPhone, I was able to cancel the downloading once for all, but iTunes somehow wanted to try downloading them even if I deleted them. This was quite frustrating so I sent a mail to the support using the Express Lane feature on the support website, asking for thos items to be removed from my iTunes account - and tadaaaa ! Once a nice guy from Apple deleted them, my iPhone stopped asking for that stupid password !
