Mavericks update stuck in waiting

I can't seem to download the Mavericks update on my macbook pro running snow leopard 10.6.8. It just stays on waiting....
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your response Eric. Nothing ever showed up in purchases to indicate that I was downloading Mavericks. It did show that it was downloading though, and got to about 1.03 gb then said stopped and said there was an error.
Here is what I have done to try to download Mavericks so far:
About a month ago I got my computer ready the best I knew how to by upgrading what I could and backing up my computer. When I tried to download Mavericks, however, it stopped ay 1.01 gb. I deleted the download from purchases, deleted anything related to it in my library, restarted my computer, and tried and tried again. It continued to stop at 1.01 gb.
I posted to the community with my dilemma and got a response from someone who said it might be my router not allowing the download. So yesterday I tried the download again at a friend's house. Twice. It seemed to be working, but then stopped again, this time at 1.03 gb. I really don't know what to do.
I have never heard of Little Snitch, so I don't think I'm running it..
This is very frustrating, and I'm not very computer savvy, so any other suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Apps hanging up on update stuck in wait mode on desktop iPad mini

All of these suggestions have worked for other users in the past, try them in order and maybe one will work for you.
    "Waiting apps"
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.
    4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
    6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Application update stuck on waiting.

I have an iPad2 (WiFi only) and iPhone. Noticed last night that application update thru appstore, which used to happen easily is stuck on "waiting" mode indefinitely and after sometime comes out saying iTunes store not responding. Tried Resetting the phone&ipad and didn't solve the problem. Funnily tried updating the applications on the iPad using 3G mode and disconnecting WiFi and it worked OK. But iPad and WiFi route does not update and is stuck on "waiting". Tried updating iPad thru iPhone Internet tethering and that didn't help. Any solutions? Saw some answers on updating the applications on iTunes and then backing up. Is that the only way? Is this some problem due to overload on Apple servers?

    Possible solution
I was suffering through the samething for few days and got fed up looking at everyone's  suggestion to simply reboot and what not and finally started fiddling alright myself and seem to have fixed the problem.
I removed the the apps that we're stuck at waiting(I did this through connecting to my pc and unchecking them in the apps section on itunes through the iPad interface, but as long as you are completely backed up you could probably just delete it/them and add them back later). then after the all pending updates have been cleared, go into setting, app store, then press where it says you apple ID select sign out, and then sign back in. After doing this I was able to download apps and updates.
Hope this helps everyone that has been affected by this problem which seems to be going around.
If this helps please be kind enough to leave word that this is the solution across the board and not just an fluke.

  • Mavericks download stuck in waiting

I'm trying to download Mavericks and the app gets stuck in my launchpad on waiting. Sometimes after sitting in "waiting" it just stops trying to download all together. How do I fix this?

Well I'm in a right old pickle with it; trying to install on my snow leoparded out (10.6.8) Imac (7,1) here's what I've done so far:
Attempted download - stuck in waiting mode.
Attempted download from the purchases tab - stuck in waiting mode
Signed out and back in to the App Store, unhid purchases and attempted download from the purchases tab - again stuck in waiting mode
Looked in the applications folder in an attempt to remove any part-downloads - no sign of them.
Installed the latest installer - to no avail.
No Launchpad either to try as this install is Snow Leopard.
Network connection is fine - downloaded and installed mavericks through the router onto my other Mac... Macbook Air - Lion.
It's been six days now on and off I've been attemtpting this - very frustrating.
    Any help gratefully appreciated.

  • Mac App Store Updates stuck in "Waiting". Anyone had this issue before?

    Hi,
I stumbled upon this issue yesterday where I had a software update waiting for me at the Mac App Store, and when I hit the update button on the store, the update got stuck in the "Waiting" message that appears to the left side of the "UPDATE" button. The updates did not appeared to download nor start, they just got stuck in the "waiting" stage. Moving to the "featured" section of the app store did not worked to re-highlight the UPDATE button in the update section of the Mac App Store page. The only way I was able to solve the issue was by Force Quitting the Mac App Store and trying again. On the second attempt, when I clicked the UPDATE button the "Waiting" message appeared but then disappeared and showed the expected download and install progressbar in the Mac App Store updates.
I was wondering if someone has seen a similar issue to the one I am describing.
Thanks for your time and answers!

    This happens sometimes.
You did the right thing, tried again.
    Best.
    Hi dominic23,
I see... Well this bugs me off course because is not the normal behavior that I would expect from OS X, but if it sometimes happens, I'll be OK with that. I don't know but I may file a bug report to Apple on this so that they at least know of the issue.
    Thanks for the advise!

  • TS1702 Downloads/updates stuck at "waiting"

I've been trying to update some apps today, and they are stuck at the "waiting" stage on my ipad.  I thought maybe if I tried downloading a new app, that would get things going, but no luck--same issue.  I'm freaking because I need to use these apps asap for work, and I can't access them now.  thanks

    Try these things in order.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • App Can't Update/Stuck on Waiting

Hello everyone. Out of the blue, My iPad Mini Retina's apps would not update. I've tried resetting network settings to no avail, and even after updating to ios 8.1 today it still is having issues. No matter what, apps are stuck in the "waiting" mode. Anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to fix it?

Thank you. So while this did fix the issue for the time being, i'd still like to be able to update apps without connecting to the computer. I can install and download updates through itunes, but still cannot without a computer.

  • My apps won't update, stuck on waiting.

My apps won't update, they have that grey bar on them. Every time I try to update them it says , unable to load. Please help?!?

If you're stuck within an app or you've noticed a problem, simply hold both the home button and sleep/wake button at the same time. It's important to keep your fingers on these buttons until step 3.
After a few seconds the red ‘slide to power off' screen will appear, simply ignore this. Ensure your fingers are still holding down the home and sleep/wake switch.
Shortly after you should see the Apple logo, it's now safe to let go of the iPad's buttons. Your iPad should now boot, beware this process can take up to 15 minutes or so.

  • OS X Mavericks update stuck on grey screen that says Software Update Launcher in toolbar. It won't finishing updating

My Mac Mini won't finish updating OS X Mavericks 10.9.4. The screen turns grey and the toolbar says SoftwareUpdate Launcher at the top toolbar but it won't finish updating. I have turned the computer off by holding the back button no the mac mini but when I turn it back on the update is still not finished. I've tried these steps steps multiple of times. I have no idea what else to try.

  • App updates stuck on "waiting"

I have tried to update multiple apps on my ipod touch, but every time it goes to start downloading it just stay on "waiting." No matter how long it is on the app still just stays on waiting. I restarted my device, but I do not believe that the app actually updated correctly, and it does not show up anymore in my available updates. How do I get the updates to stop stalling on waiting forever?

No, that is not the case. These are apps that I have updated before. There is no reason for the update to stay on waiting for 5 or more minutes. Installing is what takes the longest and I'm not talking about that. I click "update", put in my password, then the app just goes to waiting. It is just sitting there on my device doing nothing. This is a new problem I have found that many other users are also experiencing. I am not letting my device disconnect, these apps are not downloading, they are just freaking WAITING!

  • Please help pages update stuck in Waiting

Pleas help need to continue the download of pages upgrade because all of the documents i have important documents in there and if I erase the app all the info will erase, and I do not want that to happen.

Did you store the Pages documents in iCloud?  If so, they will be preserved.
The Pages update is very large (something like 110MB).  I suggest whenever you update the Pages app in the future, use iTunes on your computer to download the update, then sync your iPad to your computer.

  • HT201412 Application updates stuck in waiting...can't even do a backup in cloud because of this...have reset - still nothing

Couldn't do a back up in iCloud...realized why is vp because half of my apps are in "waiting".  Did a reset...still no progress.

Sorry - posted the question twice.

  • Apps stuck in 'waiting' status

I've seen a few similar posts, but adding mine here.  iPad2 software version 5.1 - last two days, app downloads and updates stuck in 'waiting' status.  Tried signing out, powering off and back on, and then signing back in, but no luck.  Works fine when syncing through itunes on computer, but no luck with cloud downloads or over wi-fi from app store.  Also automatic cloud downloads aren't pushing to iPad.  Help us Apple!!!!

First, Apple isn't on these forums, so your'e just writing your fellow users here.  Second, Apple servers are overloaded with new users updating to their new devices, downloading new apps, etc.  Give it a few days to settle down, but you're just seeing the fact that there are more users than the servers can handle at one time.

  • Photoshop CC stuck at "Waiting-" on Mac unless using default user account

    Hello,
I consistently have this problem installing Photoshop CC 2014 and any of its updates from the Creative Cloud: the file downloads normally, then gets stuck in "Waiting…" indefinitely. Restarting the computer, restarting the Creative Cloud app, etc have no effect – always the same result. With some effort I managed to solve this issue by logging using the first-created user account (uid 501) on my Mac. This account can complete the installation without a problem. However, since it is not the account I normally use, it is extremely inconvenient, and smells like a bug in the installation process.
This has happened to me consistently for as long as I've been a Creative Cloud member (a year now), but I haven't posted about it earlier since I thought it might be something to do with how my computer was set up. But I recently got a new Mac and the same problem appeared again even though the computer was just installed from scratch. Again: the first user account created on the Mac can install Photoshop CC without problems, but if a new local user account is created on the same computer (even if Creative Cloud has not been previously installed on a different account) that account is unable to install Photoshop CC.
Now, the installer does ask for an administrator password, but installation still fails even if I give the user id and password of the first account. Similarly if the second account has admin privileges and I give its password, installation still fails, i.e., the only way to install successfully is to log in as the first user account.

I've got kind of a same problem. Photoshop CC 2014 update stuck at Waiting.. forever.
just tried and here's the log:
