Mavericks won't download for some odd reason on 10.6.8.

Hi, whenever I try downloading, not installing (havn't gotten there yet), the app says that it is downloading but there is literally nothing on the progress bar. This is extremely agrivating because I would like to get pages, but I need 10.9 to install it. Can anyone help me in getting Mavericks to work, if so please tell me.

Thinking back to when I've seen displays of newsprint that's been greatly magnified, being able to see the halftone screen pattern seems important. It gives the display a look of authenticity.
You say the library can scan at 600 ppi. If that's 600 ppi of a greatly reduced image on a piece of microfiche, it may not give you the resolution you're looking for, and it's entirely possible that getting a quality optical print then scanning it would give you better.
I don't see how you can plan how to proceed in anything like specific detail if you don't have an image that represents what you're really going to be starting with in detail. Perhaps getting one scan might be a good idea.
After that, you just need to figure out what ppi your final overall panel design is going to be at, and upsample the newspaper clippings to match, so that they're the size you need them to be.

I'm trying to download Mavericks. It appears in my launchpad with the progress bar underneath it. A tiny part has downloaded but the rest won't download for some reason. What is wrong?

A fraction of the progress bar has filled up and won't go any further. What should I do? What is wrong with it? It is not my internet connection as I have downloaded three games off Steam today perfectly. I have also checked the specs and they're fine.

Check the Purchases tab in the App Store. If it shows a Resume button, click on it. It should also show the progress there.

Two things you could try that may or may not help.
1) Force Quit Finder. Hold the Option+Command+esc keys together and Force Quit Finder.
2) Try a Restart

You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.

*Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate"

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also choose a slightly different choice under the Share Menu. Try this:
Go to Share Menu > Share to Media Browser (choose the Large size) then let it export until its finished
Quit iMovie, and open iDVD. Then click on the Media Button, and then the Movies Button. In the Media Browser window you will see the iMovie star icon. You will find your project under that icon. You an drag that project into the iDVD project window, then burn your DVD.

2.5 USB drives can not be ejected for some odd reasons

Ever since the last update every time i connect a 2.5 USB drive i can never eject according to Disk Utilities, i get that "quit applications" connected to the drive etc,
I restarted, re connected the drive and tried running disk tools again ad with nothing open again it says the same thing!

You might look at the Activity Monitor (in the Utilities folder) to see if you can figure out what is running that might be related to files on the drive.
I also saw a donationware application MacWorld magazine reviewed called “What’s Keeping Me” which is supposed to do exactly what you are getting.

So I recently synced 1891 songs to my iPhone 5. Whilst the process was completed successfully I noticed where in my itunes library all of the artists were organised accordingly. But suddenly, due to some kind of idiotic magic a lot of my music had missing information/wrong information. Oh well, this happens I thought placidly believing that all I had to do was fix the info myself. But lo and behold for some unknown reason Itunes won't let me edit any of the info of the music on my Iphone 5. Why? I don't know. But I know for a fact that none of the music is "Read-Only" because I check and I did the same process with the same files on a different computer. My new computer (currently using) is authorized and everything seems to be in order, I have no idea why this isn't working but some help would be appreciated. Please. Sounds like the ID3 tags are messed up on those songs.
iTunes imports using v2.2 tags. Convert the tags to v2.3 and try adding the artwork.
Right-click > convert ID3 tags
Also, make sure they are not read-only files.

Is there a log file in the document folder indicating what the problem was. There are a number of reasons that PDF creation may fail. You can try to print to the Adobe PDF printer to see if there is any indication in that process. The processing is different, but the same problems may show up with both processes.

I appreciate the info and realize that the Nook App is not related to my Apple account but this too has stopped working. My situation first started with the Nook App not down loading and then has now spread to my IBook and new app downloads. I have checked into my ITunes account and the ID and password are correct and at times when I am asked to submit my Apple password such as setting up this Apple Support Community the ID and password work. Does anybody know what the problem is? My HDMI cable is from "rocketfish" also my display port is too.

You may have the screen refresh rate set higher than the TV is generally able to track reliably. It may be able to get there most times, but occasionally loses sync because it is out of its nominal range.
I suggest you sit down with the manual for the TV and find out what resolutions at what refresh rates it intends to support through VGA, and make sure your screen settings are near (or below) those limits.

please try this (all terms are translated from my German programs to my best knowledge):
1. Did the creator of the pdf file enable the import options?
2. See import options: choose an other visibility option for your layer.
3. Let you show the import options and click into one with a black background and try these out (often a gray is selected).
4. See trimming: try the different modes there. Often works: "Media".
5. Is the pdf file (eg from Word) correctly created?
6. Is the PDF file protected? >>> no import possible.
7. If that does not help, store the pdf file in Acrobat, repair possible errors, run the PDF Optimizer before placing in InDesign.
