Mavericks reqires at least 8GB's of available storage space.
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
You'll see Available and Capacity. Make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.
Disable anti virus software if installed
Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected. If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

  • IPhone 5 apps and music won't download. Both say waiting

My iPhone 5 running iOS 7 latest beta won't download apps. My phone worked just fine yesterday then today my apps won't download or update and my music won't download it stays in the "waiting" status and I've done hard reset logged in and out of my Apple ID and nothing changes.

No official way to fix this until the full version of iOS 7 is out in mid September, but for now the quick way to download and update is to do the following:
•Hold your finger on the icon of the app that is stuck on waiting, until wiggle mode is enabled, and remove the app
•Plug in your iOS device to iTunes and sync
•Reinstall the application from the App Store and installs and upgrades should work again
•If not, rinse and repeat this process

  • HT201364 Mavericks won't download even after upgrading to Snow Leopard.

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard on a Mac OS 10.6.8 and still Mavericks won't download.

Memory -  menu About This Mac will show you the memory.
Space remaining - make your hard drive visible in Finder's sidebar using Finder/Preferences/General if it is not already there and then select it. Do a Get Info (command - I) and the available space will be shown.
What happens when you click download in the App Store? If you look at the App Store Purchases tab does it show there?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • My iphone won't download apps, just show waiting and won't download podcasts. Help!

My phone won't download any apps, just say waiting instead of loading or downloading.
Also won't download any podcasts or songs

Try Settings => Store, sign out and sign back in
Also try Settings => WiFi, toggle off/on
Try Settings => General => Reset => Reset Network Settings
(this will erase any WiFi password you had entered in previously)
Try downloading to computer's iTunes and sync to the device after that.

  • OS X Mavericks Won't download correctly, app is gray?

I've been trying to download OS X Mavericks for about 3 hours now. It has been continously gray and unmoving.
After reading several ways on how to download the update I tried every step offered. It also seems as though when downloading the X should be green. Mine is gray, so I'm assuming that means the download hasn't even begun. Any solutions??

I had similar problems trying to upgrade from 10.7.5 to Mavericks: the Mavericks icon was greyed out and the Download wasn't proceeding.  This solution worked for me:
I figured out that the download was paused by going to the Launchpad, and finding the Mavericks icon, which said "Paused" underneath it (even though I don't recall pausing it myself).  I then held my mouse down on the Mavericks icon until it started shaking, and then clicked the little 'x' to abort the download.  I then went and plugged my MacBook Air directly into an ethernet cable, in order to have a much faster connection to the web, and restarted the download within the App Store.  Again, the 'OS X Mavericks' listing in the Purchases section of the App Store turned gray, but in the Launchpad view, it showed 'Downloading' underneath the Mavericks icon and the available disk space (as viewed in the Finder window) was slowing decreasing.
I think the App Store is a bit buggy: it should properly indicate when it is actively downloading Mavericks, and should have a progress meter.  It should also indicate when a download has been paused.  The App Store should provide the ability to abort/restart/pause downloads.
The key to solving this was the realization that I could abort/restart the download via the Launchpad. The other key was not trying to download via the slower WiFi connection, but instead using the much faster Ethernet connection.

  • My app downloading has frozen and will not download?

I was trying to download an app and nothing happens.  Have a blank square that just says "waiting".

    Hello pjfrancis,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with downloading an app.
I recommend tapping on the app to change the status to Paused and tapping once more to initiate the download of the app as suggested in this featured discussion:
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.

  • HT6030 Mavericks won't download on my MAC

Mavericks wont install/download on my iMAC  I am using Lion OS right now.

Make sure your MacBook Pro meets Mavericks requiremennts  > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
Mavericks is a 5.35GB file and requries a high speed broadband connection and requires 8GB or more of available disk space.
Backup all important files before upgrading
Checked to see how much space is available ??
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.

  • Spinning grey wheel, mavericks won't download

Upgrading to Mavericks from OSX 10.7.5 on a air 13 late 2010 4g ram, 2.16ghz 256g storage, about 2/3 in use. I tried 3 times the night before last and it acted normal but after a few minutes it popped up to restart. Then starting yesterday morning, and ever since when i hit 'download' it clicks and gives me a gray spinning wheel in the upper left for a second, and that's all.  I have tried clearing the caches, and restarting the computer, and re logging in. It is not in Launchpad, it is not under unfinished downloads in app store accounts. It is in purchased apps, with the word download.
    Thanks,
    al

  • Mavericks won't download, it just says Mavericks couldn't download, then it says an error occurred.

A pop up will come and say Mavericks couldn't download.  Then is the purchases page it says an error occurred.  it usually stops somewhere around 995.2 and it does it every time.  I've tried multiple solutions almost everyday for weeks.  It never worked once.  I will attatch pictures of some of the problem.

    Then you've installed Snow Leopard.
It needs to be 10.6.8 so download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. Then try installing Mavericks.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    A. Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later

  • Apps I am trying to download are frozen and icon says waiting. ?

How do I clear apps that say waiting?

This happens sometimes, not sure why, but it is annoying!  I have found that it will eventually fix itself and either download the apps, or just erase them.  But if it's really bugging you, try a hard reset.  Hold down the "sleep/wake" button and the "home" button at the same time for about 15 seconds.  You will see the red slider screen to turn off the ipad, just ignore it.  The iPad will shut itself off, then restart.  When you see the Apple logo appear, you can let go of the buttons.  See if this fixes the problem.  If not, you can restore your iPad in itunes, just back it up first.

  • Itunes song downloads are frozen in waiting, even though the songs are playable in my music on my phone.

Recently I have gotten a replacement Iphone 5c, because the first one had a swollen battery. I was having alot of issues syncing my music and in the end, i restored my computer to fix the issue. While my computer was restoring, i manually synced all of my music through icloud on my phone. I come to find out that 4 songs are basically frozen in the waiting stage to download. However when i go through the music IN my music on my phone, I can see the titles, and play them with no issue. The songs in order from top to bottom that are stuck are:
    1) Oops!...I Did It Again - Brittany Spears
    2) Party On - Blood on the Dance Floor
    3) The Shaggy Show - Insane Clown Posse
    4) Starstruck - Lady Gaga
There are no album artworks next to any of these titles. and i would like to get rid of these frozen downloads. Because no matter what I have done they won't go away. I have tried holding the home, and power button at the same time, shutting down my phone, and completely closing the itunes app. Nothing is working. Please help! because this is making me dislike apple, and Itunes more and more, because ever since i got this replacement phone, Apple and Itunes have been a nightmare for me to use.

You need to look in the top left corner of your song displayer where it says 'Album by Artist/Year' then click the arrow right beside it and click 'Album by Title' instead.
