Maverics-Mail-Thermal damage possible?

I'm trying to get mail started (not responding) but it's eating up almost all my memory. I have a QUESTION (my previous post was quicky removed because it didn't contain a question i guess ... more of a criticism I suppose ... so watch what you say here on here )
I'm leaving the mail app run in hopes that it will eventually startup. For the first time in over a year of ownership of this iMac I heard the fan come on. Touched the top and it was very, very, very hot. Soooo, my QUESTION is: is it safe to leave my computer un-attended while I visit my neighbour? Is it possible the heat could cause thermal damage or worse a fire? Or is there built in shut-down process if it gets too hot?
Are there any native/built-in utilities to display the temp?
I only have Safari, Mail(Not Responding) and, Activity Monitor running.

This depends on whether you would like to have the form filled out online (HTML in a web browser) or as a PDF file, and whether you want the form sent to you, the author, or to the form submitter.
For both cases there is a "Email Reciepts" feature and a "Email Notification" feature in a paid account that you can use by adding an "Email" field to the form and an email reciept will be sent to the email address entered into the email field, notifications would be sent to you. The reciept and notification can contain the form data.
You can also edit the PDF if you wanted to use a PDF and wanted the form model to be emailed to you the author you can edit the PDF after downloading from FormsCentral and before distributing the PDF adding an "Email" button, if you are interested in this route I will point you to an FAQ on how to edit a FormsCentral PDF and then on how to add an email button.

Transaction failed: Cannot send mail due to possible abuse

For the past two days, I have not been able to send mail from one of my Verizon.net sub-accounts using Mozilla Thunderbird. However I can send mail from the Verizon Yahoo webmail website.
I get this error message:
An error occurred while sending mail. Transaction failed: Cannot send mail due to possible abuse; please visit http://postmaster.yahoo.com/abuse_smtp.html for more information.
And when I click on "OK" in the message box, this second error message pops up:
Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again or contact your network administrator.
When I go to http://postmaster.yahoo.com/abuse_smtp.html, there is just a generic Yahoo help page, with nothing specific about this problem.

The possible abuse is likely a 24 hour hold for accounts suspected of sending Spam. Are you still having issues? Also what ports do you have the incoming/outgoing server set to?

Mail - The index of Mail is damaged.

Mail - The update failed. The index of Mail is damaged. Stop Mail to restore the index.
This happened after upgrading to OS X Yosemite. Who's able to have the right answer?

I have the same problem with upgrading to Yosemite. Mail index damaged. The Console gives these messages. Please help!

On updating to Yosemite Mail Index damaged but does not repair when re-opening mail.

Yosemite updated but Mail index damaged and does not repair when re-opened. How is this fixed?

I have the same thing happening. Everything else seems to be working fine, except i can't open my mac mail at all! it seems to be in a loop and won't let me retrieve any mail or even try to send mail before migrating, but it fails and then its back to the beginning and the same loop continues, so no mac mail working. I also came from 10.6.8 to 10.10

Mail app damaged after Yosemite upgrade

I upgraded to Yosemite and among other problems, my mail app does not work. When I open the application it prompts me to begin the message import process. I click 'continue' and the message import begins. The process progresses until it reaches the migration of data, at which point it stops and an error message appears.

I've tried chatting with apple support and it was not helpful. I created an admin account under safe mode and mail opened fine, prompting me to set up a mailbox. I have cleared my Caches. I repaired HD in recovery mode, disk repair and repair permissions. Nothing as worked and my mac is running insanely slow.
Someone please help me!

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

All of a sudden Reader says all pdf's rec'd by e-mail are damaged or corrupt. Help available?

I'm using the latest version of Office 365's Outlook on Windows 8.1. I receive many e-mails from different sources containing PDF files. All of a sudden I receive an error message on every PDF. Generally its "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and can't be repaired." I even forwarded a PDF that I know others have been able to open to my wife's e-mail address and it gave her the same error message. So not only are PDF's I receive not able to be opened but my Reader or something else on my computer seems to be damaging or corrupting them! I thought I had a malware problem so I re-set my Dell laptop back to reinstallation of Windows and re-installed Adobe Reader XI. I have also right-clicked on a PDF file and set Adobe Reader XI as the default program.

Please let me know what version of Adobe Reader you are using.
You might need to choose 'Check for Updates' option under the Help menu to use the latest version of Reader i.e. 11.0.10
Also, tell me whether you are viewing the PDFs through 'Preview' or first download the files and then open with Reader.
Try disabling protected mode from Edit> Preferences> Security (Enhanced) and check.

RSWUWFML2 sending mail to all possible agents

I have configured RSWUWFML2 and it is sending mail to Notes fine just the wrong agents. I am wanting to send workflow messages from tasks etc in Quality Notifications and I have created an org structure and just assigned this structure as the agent in the workflow config. When I assign an individual in the notification to a task only that user is getting the actual workflow in SBWP, which is great, however notes mails are being sent to all possible agents, i.e. those in the org structure. Anybody encountered this before? and how to stop it?

Please check in the workflow log which are the agents it is going to?
I think it is going to all users and the user you are saying is also receiving at.
Please make your agent assignment properly in order the workitem not being sent to all users.

Embedding an Image as a template in mail - is it possible?

Hi,
I know that if I am sending an attachment to another mac person who uses mail, that the image will appear "inline" (in the main body of the text). What I want to know is whether it is possible to embed an image as a template or background in mail so that if I send it to a PC user they will recieve like I would on a mac, not just as a jpeg attachment in the bottom corner of the email.
The reason I ask is that as an artist I send out emails to a mailing list of friends and clients of upcoming shows and events. I want to make sure everyone will get the same visual message without having to open an attachment (or get a blank email with said attachment at the bottom)
Is there a program that does this or can I do it in Mail??
I am sure I am being totally stupid but I would appreciate some help..

Mail Upgrade Failed. Launch mail assistant. Mail index damaged. Says it will repair when mail is launched but it never does repair it. Any idea why this is happening?

I downloaded Yosemite to upgrade from IOS 10.6.8. Mail will not work. It says the upgrade failed and to launch the mail assistant. Then the next message says mail index has been damaged. To repair it quit Mail. It will be repaired the next time you launch mail. However, this never works. I tried recovery and downloaded the software again but the same thing happened. Any ideas how to fix this?

Mail index damaged repeatedly

I've been trying to use Apple Mail with my Gmail and Google Apps accounts, both using IMAP. Everything has been working fine, except now at least twice idea I get message telling me that the Mail index has been damaged. I need to quit Mail and import old messages. Beyond this annoyance, it's a pain because I have to re-download a very large archive of messages from my Gmail account.
I tried deleting the old Envelope Index files but that hasn't done any good.

i'm having exactly the same problem. it started yesterday. just now mail suddenly said the index was damaged and it needed to import it all again. it imported, then restarted. mail barely finished starting before it said it was corrupt again. . .

Mail - Is it possible to remove an email from a discussion without deleting it?

As the question says... is it possible within Mail to remove an email from a Conversation without deleting the email? I have an email that is incorrectly being allocated to a particular conversation and I want to remove the link to the conversation but wish for the email to remain in the inbox but without being linked to the conversation.
Is this possible within Mail? If so how does one do it?

Mail index damaged after yosemite upgrade

I installed yosemite last nite, and I’m unable to open Mail. I continue to get message: "Your Mail index has been damaged. To repair it, quit Mail. Mail will repair the index the next time you open Mail. Your mailboxes and messages will be preserved." I've tried multiple times including restarting. Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks

Mine is totally porked. I tried deleting the Envelope index files and reimporting the mailboxes, but it stalled on import and now all it does when I try to open the program is become unresponsive. I can see greyed out and unselectable the mail boxes with unread mail, but when I click on one, I get the spinning beachball of death.

Mail Index Damaged

This message has appeared 3 days in a row, telling me that Mail will repair the damage when I quit Mail. When I do this, Mail won't reopen unless I restart the computer and then the settings seem to be from 5 years ago and all my messages are gone. Only the empty folders remain from last week. I deleted the .Mac settings and reinstated the POP Gmail settings but I'm hoping to get all my messages back and also stop this from happening everyday. Anyone have any answers for me please?

And that’s precisely the problem, that it doesn’t make sense and I have no way of knowing what your settings were 5 years ago. Now that you’ve explained it, it becomes clear what happened.
It’s not that your settings are from 5 years ago. It’s that something happened to ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist and Mail decided to create it anew. As a result, all your non-.Mac account settings were lost, but your .Mac settings are probably still in System Preferences > .Mac and Mail always looks there when re-creating com.apple.mail.plist. All the other settings stored in com.apple.mail.plist are now at their default values (unless you’ve changed them again), not at the values they had 5 years ago.
