Max. available screen size for DVD

Hi! i´m making a SD-pproject and the actual PAL-size is 720x576. I gave the dvd to a friend an he told me that some letters from the menu are cropped?? which size can i take to be sure that evertything is accessable!?
best greetings, max

Most likely the letters were placed outside of the action safe or title safe zones in the first place -the menu dimensions you gave are correct.
Turn on the action safe borders in the menu editor and make sure the text stays within the guide lines. To be absolutely sure, keep it within the title safe guides, too.
These guides are selected from the 'settings' drop down box in the menu editor window.

  • Why screen size for iPhone simulator is still 480x320 pixels?

    Hi,
I just upgraded my xcode to 4.2.1 so I have iOS SDK 5.0 now. However, when I create a project, the screen size in simulator for iPhone is 480x320 pixels. I was told the screen size for iPhone/iPad is now 960x640 pixels. Why in simulator it is still old size? What should I do to get the correct size or I am wrong and the actual device is still 480x320 pixels? Thanks.
    Regards,
    Taizhi

    hi,
you change between "iPhone" and "iPhone retina" to simulate both physical resolutions.
For the project it doesn't matter because the logical resolution is still 320 x 460 "Points". The OS does most of the work for you.
    I suggest reading: this: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/2DDrawing/Conceptual/Drawi ngPrintingiOS/SupportingHiResScreens/SupportingHiResScreens.html#//apple_ref/doc /uid/TP40010156-CH15

  • Changing screen size for screen sharing

Is there a way to change the screen size for screen sharing?
I have a 13" macbook and a G5 with a 20" monitor. When I use RDC to a PC it automatically adjusts to use the full screen on the G5 and when I use VNC to a linux system I can create a vncserver with any arbitrary geometry that I want, but when I use screen sharing all I seem to be able to get is a 13" screen. I can use JollysFast VNC, and view it full-screen, but it's still just 1280x800.
So, is there anyway to create a virtual window so that I can take better advantage the screen on my G5 when screen sharing to my macbook?
    Thanks,
    Rob

Well, the question should really have been, "What is the ideal page width for the iPad?".
The answer is that there isn't one since the iPad, like most portable devices, has two screen widths depending on whether its used in portrait or landscape mode.
If you are designing a layout specifically for the iPad, one solution is to use a folding design where the sidebar folds down to the bottom in portrait and jumps back up to the side in landscape. This will only work for personal computers and iPads.
The popular way of designing a layout to suit a large range of portable devices is to use a liquid, or semi liquid, layout that will automatically adjust to the fixed width browsers used on these devices.
    Something like this...
Neither of these methods are possible using a template based editor like iWeb and this is probably one of the main reasons that Apple has given up on the application. Surfing the internet on mobile devices is growing daily and its now become essential to have a mobile version of your website or one that can be viewed on all devices.

I have made a screen recording using Quicktime and also Camtasia for Mac. I am recording live currency charts and want to use this in a DVD but I can not find the proper combination of recording and exporting. I can export a good copy that when watched in Quicktime is excellent but when I try to render it for DVD quality it is blurry. I would appreciate any help here. This needs to be the highest quality possible.

  • Splash Screen Size for Mobile

    Hello:
Anyone knows the suggested size for a mobile splash screen. I am experimenting development using "Burrito".
    Thanks for any help.

    hi
canvas.getWidth() for getting width of the screen.
    canvas.getHeight() for height.
but u have to sure that if u are using canvas.setFullScreenMode(true) for using fullscreen (also command area) then write this getwidth() and getHeight() after writing setFullScreenMode()
Note : there is some devices like motorola a1000 and e1000 like not giving actual screen size if u are using setFullScreenSize(true) , they are giving only actual screen size (without command area).
hope u get the answer from this ..

  • How to avoid maximal expand of screen size for welcome screen? VmWare prob?

I run Suns Solaris Express Edition for VmWare under WinXP.
When I start Solaris VM everything is fine except the fact that the welcome screen at boot up (= the screen where the user has to enter his login and password) is expanded to approx 2400 x1600 pixel).
I have to use the horizontal scrollbar to get the entry fields for login and password.
After I entered correctly login and password Solaris retrieves the internal correct display size
of 1280 x 960 and shrinks the screen size accordingly.
So again everything is fine from this time except the screen size at the beginning.
Is this an error of VmWare or of Solaris?

I agree that iMovie's still image quality is embarassingly bad and has many bugs.
Even with no Ken Burns, the sharp images tend to flicker on a TV because iMovie doesn't blur them properly.
And as you very well described, iMovie's Ken Burns produces uneasy zooms/pans because the subpixel rendering is, uh, suboptimal.
iMovie's immortal rendering bug when exporting non-Ken Burns'ed images to iDVD/tape doesn't make things any better.
Yes, bicubically downsampling the input images to 640x480 or adding gaussian blur to the megapixel input images takes care of the flicker and uneasy zooms/pans, but as a side-effect the maximal zoom-ins are then TOO blurry.
The best workaround is to use Photo To Movie's higher quality export setting. It has the best quality rendering engine (I recently compared it to Still Life and FotoMagico). Disclaimer: I'm just a satisfied customer of Photo To Movie.

  • Best Adobe Captivate Screen Size for all Devices?

Which would you say is the best screen size to use to cater for all device types (pc, laptop, tablet, mobile, etc.)?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
You can select any moderate screen size and publish the course and on the publish dialog box, check "Scalable HTML content" (only in case of .swf, HTML5 and PDF).
If you are not sure about which screen size to choose and you are creating a course for large audience for devices and systems of different resolution, then  800 X 600 is recommended.
But now, with scalable HTML content checked, your course window will fit to the screen size of the device, and there will not be any scroll bar.
    Thanks.

  • What screen size for revealing scroll effects?

    Hello,
I'm currently designing a website in Muse for a motion graphics company which has quite a few scroll effects.  As the user scrolls down (it's a one page site), elements either fade or animate (edge animate files) onto the page.
I'm designing it on a 27" screen but of course a lot people will be using smaller screens and laptops so I was wondering what everyone uses as a standard active screen area?
If I keep all the animations happening in the top 700px, I'm left with a big empty space below when using a larger screen.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
(I will be doing a tablet and phone version once I've nailed this).
    Thank you

I would suggest you to go with browser width animation so that it should render same with all screen sizes.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Ideal Screen Size for Designing application for MAC

    Dear All
I want to design a new application for MAC versions, like iMAC, MAC book pro, Mack book Air, and there is is various screen sizes, like
11", 13", 15", 21.5", 27", what is the ideal screen Resolution, is it 2560*1440 or 1920*1080. or what will be the ideal size which will be a clear display in all the machines. I am really confused and I searched and seeked many members info on this but no one is having answer for this.
    please help me.
    Regards
    Lourd

Hi @BDAqua, thanks for the answer, but I am not sure how I can conclude for 1920*1080, for various screens the resoultion changes. I want to know which is the best suitable screen size I need to take while designing my application, am asking purely in perspective of User Interface Design prototype perspective...
    11.6 - 1366*768
    13.3 - 1440*900
    13.3 - 1280*800
    13.3 - 2560*1600
    15.4 - 1440*900
    15.4 - 2880*1800
    21.5 - 1920*1080

  • Available screen size/resolution

How do I determine the screen size/resolution that the user will be using order for my application to adapt its page size?

We've embedded E-commerce into the SAP portal and have changed the top header bar not to display to save some vertical screen real estate.
You got to be careful if you are integrating E-Commerce with SAP Portal, just defining an URL iView is OK but not sufficient. To fully integrate to Portal use the following
[Note 1021959 - Portal settings for ISA iViews|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1021959]
As for the frame structure of the application, you can see the details of the frame design in this document [SAP E-Commerce 5.0 - Examples and Tutorials (Dev./Ext.) |http://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700006120622006E/ISA50_DevAndExtTuts_v1_0.PDF]
Put a good resource who can understand the JSP and CSS (stylesheets) and they should be able to do a  fair job. I use Firefox browser with the plug-in Firebug to quickly find the active style and the corresponding stylesheet.
