Max HDD Capacity for MS-7383(G31M2 V1)

Hi Team,
Can you please let me know the maximum hard disk capacity supported by MS-7383. As of now, it is running with 3SATA (250GB+250GB+320GB).
BIOS Version: V1.4 (A7383IMS V1.4 070309)
Thanks in advance.

It's been tested with P-ATA up to 750 GB & S-ATA up to 500 GB so as Stu said should be OK with even higher capacity drives than that.

  • What is the max HDD capacity for Satellite L300-1EI?

    Hi there,
    I have A laptop Sattelite L300 - 1EI Nodel PSLB8E - 05W013H2.
Currently I have a Hard Disk with the capacity of 120G .
It has lots of bad sectors.
I wold like to know what is the maximum capacity I could replace it with.
    Thanks

    Thanks for answering.
My problem is that I bought already a HDD of 500GB.
    The BIOS recognize the HDD.
When I try to install Windows 7 the computer reads the files from the CD into memory
and when it finishes, before it has the chance to start writing it switch itself off and re-boots.
Is that mean that the contoller is gone or the capacity of the HDD is too high for this Laptop.
    Thanks

  • 648 Max: HDD capacity only 2GB (should be 30 GB) in WinXP

    Hi!
I have a problem that seems to be related to my new 648 Max motherboard. Windows XP doesn't recognise the full capacity of my HDD.
The HDD is about two years old (IBM Deskstar 75 GXP, 30.7 GB). Everything seems to be fine when i boot the computer. The motherboard BIOS recognises the HDD correctly. However, when installing Windows XP, the HDD capacity is limited to 2 GB.
There were no problems using the same HDD in Windows XP with my old motherboard.
    Anyone have any suggestions??

If you use A win98 startup disk and use FDISK how big does it say the disk is and are there any partitions on it ?

  • Max hdd size for ms-6140 ??

anyone out there know the maximum size that the ms-6140 motherboard can handle?? its also called the 'micro ATX EX7' on some occasions.
ive searched alot and cant find anything...
bios has been flashed to most recent version, even though its only from 1998...
    thanks for any help!
oh and i dont have any hdds lying around to simply test the boards capabilities :(

thanks, i didnt really know what those extra jumpers on HDDs were for.
i borrowed a 40gb HDD off a friend and did as you said, the bios then auto-detected it as being about 33000MB in size.. would this be the maximum HDD size?
    you did mention that by its age, the max HDD size might be 32GB, so this all sounds like we've found the answer;
    have we?
    thanks heaps!  )

  • More HDD Capacity for UCS C240

Dear All, I would like to see your advice
The UCS C240 I configure in CCW contain 24 Drive backplane,
my requirement will be 3 unit of 500G HDD (Raid 5) + 21 Unit of 1TB (RAID 5) = Total already 24 drive.
Since UCS C240 do not have more then 1TB SATA drive to choose in CCW, I am also unable to located any SFF Drive for 2TB or more.
In my situation, what if I would like to expand my disk drive capacity in the future?
(Actually I prefer to place 21 Unit of 2TB of more instead of 1TB, but the maximum capacity I can choose only 1TB)
Hope to have your advice, thanks

    Hi Calvin ,
According the specification for a UCS C240 SFF the maximum capacity for a hard drive is 1 TB.
Actually there is no hard drive with a higher storage capacity than that on that UCS model.
    Please check in here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10493/C240M3_SFF_SpecSheet.pdf
There is another model of the UCS C240 (High Density) which support hard drives for 3 TB:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10493/C240M3_LFF_SpecSheet.pdf
    Hope this helps.

  • What is the max hdd size for a macbook 2.1 (late 2006)

    I have a Macbook 2.1 (late 2006). Its 80 MB HDD crashed.
What maximum HDD capacity/size can my Macbook handle?

Replace it with any notebook sized, 2.5", SATA I or II HDD. Presently, the largest that will fit is a 1.5 GB drive by Toshiba. You cannot install a drive that is over 9.5 mm high.
Look for drives at OWC to get an idea of what's available and pricing. You can buy the drive you want anywhere reliable you want, so look for the best price available for the make and model you choose. Good brands are Hitachi, Seagate, Toshiba, and Samsung.

  • Max HDD capacity in Satellite 2415-S205

    Hi!
What max HDD can I use in Satellite 2415-S205
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,
I think you should be able to upgrade to 80GB (at least), but I am not sure if you can install an HDD with more then 80GB.
The only chance to find it out is to buy a 100GB pladder and to if it works. :)
Otherwise I just can say: 80 Gig

  • What is Max HDD size for MacBook Pro 15" bought in 2006-07

    Hi
    I bought a MacBook Pro 15" about 3.5 - 4 yrs ago. The model is A1211.
It came with 120GB HDD, 2GB RAM.
What is the maximum HDD size that this will support? The Apple store employee says, it will support only upto 160 GB. But, I am skeptical it would be that low.
So, was wondering if anybody knows the max size, and also, which HDD would be best. I want at least 320 GB.

You can get a 750 GB drive that is 9.5mm high. As far as I know, the 1 TB drives are all still 12.5 mm high, although that could change at any time.
The fastest 750 GB drive I know of is this one:
    http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/laptops/laptop-hard-drives/
It is 7200 RPM. At 5400 RPM, there are many other choices. You might want to shop at Newegg, which often has specials on drives, as does Tiger Direct. Newegg also has reviews of individual drives you can look at.
Personally, I like Western Digital drives, and put the 500 GB Scorpio Black drive in my 2007 MBP, where it has performed without issue. The largest drive that originally shipped with my MBP was a 4200RPM 250 GB drive, the very biggest one you could order in a MBP back then.
Any 2.5 inch SATA drive should work just fine. The only one I would avoid is WD's 640 GB drive because a number of people have has issues with it in their Macs.
You might shop around on line a bit, and if you are torn between two or more drives, post back with what they are and ask for opinions. Everybody has favorite drives, so it may not be possible to get anything other than a bunch of opinions.
One other thing to watch out for. Some drives are sold with or without some form of free fall sensor. Apple has its own built in sensor called the Sudden Motion Sensor. In some machines and drives, there seems to be a conflict between the drive's sensor and Apple's SMS. If that happens, you would need to disable Apple's sensor. Usually it's easier just to select the drive without a built-in sensor and let Apple's SMS work as its designed to do. In the Seagate drive I linked, it's called "G-Force", but would have a different name in a different brand.
Incidentally, you can up your RAM to 3 GB if you like.
    Good luck!

  • Max HDD size for MS6167

Can anyone please guide what is the max size of HDD I can use with the old MS6167 motherboard.  I bios ver. 1.6.  This was the last issued by MSI.  Have at present 2 x 20Gb disks.  Wish to install 120Gb.  But wish to check before I buy the 120Gb disk if it will work with this old motherboard.
    Thanks
    gguk

On this old notebook model you can use HDDs with IDE connector only and, as Akuma already wrote, there is 128 GB limitation so I recommend you to buy 100GB IDE HDD and I think it will be OK for this old notebook model.

  • Maximum HDD capacity for Core Duo MacBook?

With both OS X and Windows installed, I'm running out of space with the 80GB HDD my Core Duo (not Core 2) MB came with and I'd like to replace the original drive with the 200GB drive that the new MacBook Core 2 Duo can be ordered configured with. But I was told by a person at the local (non-Apple) Mac store that the Core Duo MB, unlike the Core 2 Duo MB, has a storage limit of "120 or 160 GB, I think".
This does not make sense to me. One would think that the addressable storage limit is a function of the OS, the CPU, and the bus width, not affected by a relatively minor (?) difference in CPU details. He acknowledged that although the physical form factor of the 200GB drive is the same as that of the 80GB (after first thinking that the phrase "physical form factor" meant a functional limit, thus calling his expertise into serious question), there is some sort of functional limit. He cited the example of the G4 desktop, which can hold 2TB of storage as 4x500GB HDDs, but that if equipped with 4x750GB drives, still recognizes only 2TB. I think this limit is a result of the basic architecture of the CPU and buses. To further muddy the waters, he said there's a limit on the size of the internal HDD even though a much bigger outboard HDD can be recognized "because the internal drive is wired right into the computer". This sounds really bogus to me, but I'm not quite confident enough that I'm ready to order that 200GB internal SATA HDD from Other World.
Can I go ahead and order the 200GB and know the whole thing will be recognized?

According to the specs - the 200G should work. Like First Magnus said - 200G drives are fairly new - heck, 120G SATA drives are fairly new for laptops. Look around - you should find something. Newegg has them one (Toshiba) for $259.00. With them being new, they'll be tougher to find, so the net is probably you're best choice right now. I know the local stores around here don't carry them yet. Best of luck...

  • Maximum HDD capacity for HP G7035EA

I wish to replace a faulty HDD in a HP G7035EA laptop.  What is the maximum capacity the BIOS will permit me to use ?

It is a SATA drive so there is not a BIOS limitation. Make sure you have ahci or "native SATA" enabled in the BIOS (if that option is even there). I know they now make at least a 640 gig standard 9.5 mm thick 2.5 inch wide laptop hard drive and you can definitely use one of those.

  • Max HDD Size for Satellite 3000 -514 with BIOS 2.30

    Hi folks !
What is the largest HD size notebook recognizes with BIOS 2.30.
I found no FAQ information ragarding this BIOS version.
    Thx for your help.

    Hi
The Satellite 3000-514 supports the HDD sizes up to 30GB.
You need a HDD 2.5", 9.5mm support bus master IDE, Ultra 33/66 synchronous DMA
Bigger HDD sizes are not supported and I suppose the BIOS will not recognize it.

  • Upper Limit On HDD Capacity For QS G4 2001 Model W/PCI ATA133 Card?

    Hey Everyone,
I currently have a Tempo ATA133 PCI card installed in my QuickSilver G4 2001 system (http://www.sonnettech.com/product/tempo_ata133.html). To address capacity issues, I'm considering adding a very large 500 GB, 7200 RPM ATA133 Hitatchi HDD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822147008), which would connect to this PCI card.
Does anyone have reason to believe this configuration would cause issues, or if there's an upper limit on the amount of HDD space a PCI ATA133 card can support?
My feelings are that this configuration will be fine, but I'd like feedback before I proceed.

Good information bhgdfh! I'll have to reinstall OS 9 it seems to load the firmware, which is fine. If I end up buying the drive, I'll post the results! Meantime, I'm keeping the question unanswered in case anyone else has additional input.

  • Qosmio X300-11W - HDD Capacity and RPM

    Hi all,
    Quick question.
What is max HDD capacity and RPM for x300-11w
I wish to change my hdd but don't want to make mistake.
    Thanks

Virtually all modern SATA based laptops can take any size HDD. The previous limitation was LBA48, which was limited to 137GB. The next limit is something like 8 Exabytes.
The two things you need to be aware of is:
    1) Rotational speed. 7200RPM drives will work in any laptop, but they get hotter than 5400RPM drives. The X300 is a large machine, so a 7200RPM drive will be fine. If it was a compact portable laptop such as a Portege, 7200RPM may not be a good idea, unless the drive is generally a cool running drive.
    2) Physical size. Some HDD's can be 12mm or higher - especially if they are of large capacity. Measure the original drive, and ensure the new drive has the same height.
