Max multiplier supported

I have an MSI MS-6334 (815M Pro) M/B with a Celeron 366.Currently my BIOS shows that the highest Multiplier Setting supported by it is 8.But in the CPU support page of my M/B in the MSI website shows that my M/B can support upto PIII 1G (10x100 Mhz.)How is it so?will the highest multiplier setting change after installing a higher processor. Also the page also shows that my M/B doesn't support Celeron 1G.But both the PIII and the Celeron have the same FSB:Multiplier ratio (10x100 Mhz.)Why is it so?Thanx in advance.

But the second question-
Why the page shows that my M/B can't support Celeron 1G (Coppermine) while it can support PIII 1G (Coppermine)? And what if I install a VIA C3?It's multiplier isn't locked. Can I overclock it to some other Multiplier Setting higher than 8x

  • Max speed support on serial 2503

    Hi All,
I have a router cisco 2503, I need to know what is Max. speed supported on serial interface? Presently we have 128KB leased line, and want to know weather I can upgrade the leased line to 256K with the same router ?
    THanks,

    Hello,
if you are referring to the two serial interfaces on your 2503, these are high-speed serial interfaces, which support speeds up to 2048kbps, or roughly 2MB.

aight cool, then in that case i just ordered this board from newegg!!!

  • E8500 C0 max multiplier 9?

I just ordered a new processor for my rig, I have the P35 Neo2-FR motherboard, it shipped with BIOS v1.5 which was fine, I read that to support the new E0 steppings of the E8xxx series chips, a BIOS upgrade was required. I duly flashed to v1.9, but when I put my new CPU in and went to the BIOS screen to set it up, the maximum available multiplier is 9, rather than the 9.5 specified by the chip.
0.5 multipliers are now available in the BIOS (whereas before they weren't) as if I lower the multiplier it drops through 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7 etc
    my system specs are
    P35 Neo2-FR
    E8500 C0
    2GB Corsair XMS2 pc6400
    Sapphire Radeon 4870
Can anyone suggest anything to try? I saw somewhere that someone was telling people to use V1.8 with E8500 chips as v1.9 doesnt support 0.5 multipliers, but it evidently does!

That is a known problem which BIOS v1.9.  There is a newer BETA-BIOS that will fix this issue.  This BIOS was released just after the Final 1.9-Version to fix the problem right away. The BIOS is named A7345IMS.1A1 (v1.10b1).
You can ask MSI Technical Support to provide you with that particular BIOS File. http://ocss.msi.com.tw/

And this i wonder about too.
Of course. These are identical boards except for the AC WLAN (Mpower MAX just 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN)

That is irrelevant for the K cpus in question here as it covers the Haswell Refresh cpus without K already listed in cpu support chart.

  • KT3- 6380 E mobo max CPU support?

I am wondering what BIOS version I need to get support for this board for an AMD XP 2600 / 266 FSB?
I have already flashed the BIOS to version  6712v18.  using the live update.  This was the only bios update that was found for my board.
I can get the proc installed, but when I set the BIOS to defaults (100 Mhz FSB) it only recognizes the proc as a 733 MHZ, and when I set it to 133 mhz FSB it recognizes the proc as a 1.67.  anything higher than 133 and it begins to crash.
When checking the recomended procs/mobos page it does claim this board will support a 2600 proc, but it runs unstable.  I can not run aquamark3 benchmarking while set to 133 FSB.  When I set the clock multiplier from AUTO to 15x, it sees it as a 733 Mhz proc, and I was able to run aquamark benchmark test.
CPU temp is mid 30's when I check @ startup in the setup panel.
I'm pretty new to this kind of tweaking, so have a heart.
I hope I didn't buy the wrong processor for this upgrade.
    Thanks.

Thanks for helping me thru this one.
I changed my FSB setting to 166 and she's running fine.  I'm suprised it's working, but it is.  I have Motherboard Monitor running, and the CPU is a steady 34c, case temp is stead 35c temp- un loaded.  I wish I could show the temps as an HUD overlay while playing Call of Duty- Untied offensive to see how it really stresses the processor.
I've also run aquamark benchmark3 and achieved approx a 1500 ~ 2000 CPU score increase, with a minimal 400 overall increase. (4x agp vid card- soon to be remedied w/ an x800 xt pe in my new rig)
    Again, specs
    Win XP Pro- SP 2
    Board: MSI MS-6380E 1.0
Bus Clock: 170 megahertz (I set it to 166 but Belarc Advisor reports it as 170- unless I misunderstand it)
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 07.00T 04/02/01
AMD XP 2600+ running at 2.09ghz
    (2) 512Mb sticks Crucial PC 2100DDR DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR266 • 2.5V • 64Meg x 64
Leadtek   NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4400- driver version 66.93
I have another 256 stick to put back in the machine- when it was not working I thought there might be an issue with un-matched pairs of memory.
Thanks for the help, again- not sure if I would have gotten this corrected had I not ventured over here.

  • WLC 2504 max AP support

    Hi all,
Does anybody know what is the maximum number of APs supported on Cisco 2504 WLC?
According to the Data Sheet it is 75:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps6302/ps8322/ps11630/data_sheet_c78-645111.html
But according to the config guide it is 50:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.3/configuration/guide/b_wlc-cg_chapter_01.html#ID263
I believe the correct number is 50, but I just want to be sure.
    Is this a software limitation?

    Hi Leo
Don't think there's going to be any change on wism2 on supported AP limit.
    Hi George
whenever new client added to WLC it needs some memory to seat the client on wlc, guess 2500 got room for that.
i think throughput of 2500 also getting doubled to 1gb from 500mb to increase performance.

  • IMac G5 external FW drives - measuring max connection support

I'm looking for information about the number of external FW HDs that can be connected to the 2 external FW ports on an iMac G5 (2GHzSP). Practical, not theoretical.
I get the basics, and understand the 8w capacity of the iMac G5 to support unpowered external FW 400 devices.
I'm looking for three things -
    1) a block diagram of the iMac G5 design, esp. as it has to do with the relationship between the cpu, i/o bus, FW controller, FW PHY & FW port connectors
    2) a methodical analysis of the capacity of the iMac G5 to support x number of external FW400 devices that are daisychained and have their own power supplies
    3) an analysis on the pros & cons of daisychaining off 1 vs. both of the 2 FW connectors on the iMac G5
Thanks for any information you can point me to.

Ron, you're awesome! I knew all I had to do was wait for daylight to hit Australia and I'd have my answer
Well, as you usual I tried a number of things different instead of one thing at a time and it works, so I don't know what did it. But I changed one of the firewire cables, and I booted them up one at a time (about a full minute apart) instead of all at once.
Looking at the System Profiler I'm not sure who makes the chipset, and the cases are pretty non-descript. But in the profiler the manufacturer for all three happens to read: Prolific PL3507 Combo Device, or just PL3507 Combo Device.
Two of the three are: 1394 ATAPI,Rev 1.00
and the third is: 1394-ATAPI rev1.10
All three drives also list this:
    Unit Software Version: 0x10483
    Unit Spec ID: 0x609E
    Firmware Revision: 0x12804
Well, its working now! If you post this same reply at

I'll mark you as having solved it.
    Thanks!

  • X230i touchpad max. finger support

    Hello guys,
I have debian installed on my x230i and was wondering how many fingures are supported by the touchpad for multi-touch gestures. I am sure its three but would be happy to get a final answer to this question, which is bugging me since some time.
    Solved!

    Hi again, qrosh
Terribly sorry about that. I misread the title of the post. The number of inputs that the TouchPad can implement is based on the driver. With the standard UltraNav driver that comes on all ThinkPads, three inputs is the maximum used, which makes your initial assumption correct. Apologies again for the mix-up.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam

  • 845g max processor support?

do you know what processor i can go up to on the 845g max?i now have pentium 4 2.26 my manual says pentium 2.4 and up.but how far up?

Depends what you are doing and what else you have in your computer.
Usually a memory or VGA card upgrade will give a better preformance boost than a CPU upgrade.

  • MSI Why No HT Support On 845e Max Rev1

Please can someone from MSI tell me if there is anyway to update my 845E Max 6566 MB to utilise Hyper Threading. I have the latest Bios Revision 5.9.
In the specs on this website it says that the 845E Max DOES support HT. Yet mine does not have a Bios menu for it.
Is there any way to enable HT short of buying a new MB (which I do not really want to do as I though my current one should support HT).
    TIA

HyperThreading is ONLY supported under the XP range of Windows......
Has for HARDWARE mods..... be careful!!!!

  • MAX support of SNTP for Real-time controllers

    Hey everyone,
I have some PXI systems that allow me to enter a Time Server IP address directly into the MAX setup for the device but I have some other PXI chassis that don't. Does this have to do with the version of Real-time they are running? Can anyone tell me what version of RT and MAX started supporting Time Servers natively through MAX for real-time controllers?
    Thanks,
    Craig

    Hi craige,
It looks like SNTP synchronization is not fully supported for PXI systems:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Configuring-PXI-8184-controller-to-synchronize-to-SNTP-server/td-p/1...
However, for CompactRIO, synchronization with SNTP servers began with LabVIEW Real-Time 8.6:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/F2B057C72B537EA2862572D100646D43
The forum post I linked above does have some links to customer created examples relating to NTP and SNTP Time Servers.
Please note that those examples are both unsupported and a little bit on the older side.
