Appreciate your support and if possible , how to do this?

If you want to work with Mac OS X, you need one computer per simultaneous user.
What you are describing, " Multiple simultaneous logins to a single computer" is not avialable on a regular Mac of any description, unless you decide to use Unix tools instead of Mac OS X.
Server will happily store files for many, many users and provide them to multiple (up to hundreds) of computers at "near hard Drive" speeds over Gigabit Ethernet. It can make the File Sharing part easy.

  • Max no. of users connections in essbase

    Hi All,
How can i find what is the max. no. of users connections is allowed for essbase. If there is some setting in EAS console or we can define it through MAXL. We are using very old version (version 6- using ESSCMD commands). We have already provided access to about 475 users. 200 more users are waiting for access.
    Thanks,
    Anchit

Herewith the relevant parameter you can define in your ESSBASE.CFG - it should answer your question:
    MAXLOGINS
Sets a limit on the number of user sessions that can be connected to the Essbase Server at any one time.
    Syntax
    MAXLOGINS n
n Any integer from 1000 to 1048575 is valid. The default value is 10000.
    Description
This setting limits the maximum number of user sessions allowed to connect to the Essbase Server at any one time. This number includes multiple instances of the same user.
You may wish to adjust the value of MAXLOGINS to match computer resources, or to more closely manage concurrent ports and user sessions. A concurrent port is used for each unique combination of client machine, Essbase Server and login name. For example, the same user > with five open Excel worksheets connected to the same Essbase Server use one port, but five sessions.
    Notes
Increasing the value of MAXLOGINS increases memory use approximately 6 bytes per user session.
If the setting is less than the minimum value, 1000, the value is assumed to be 1000.
    Example
    MAXLOGINS 50000
increases the maximum number of simultaneous logins possible, from the default of 10000 to 50000. > Kind regards

  • 1142N bandwidth throughput and max number of users

Im using AIR-LAP1142N-N-K9 access points (it supports b/g/n). Somestimes the AP has up to 80 users connect to it.
SOme recommends the AP should have between 25-35 users max.
Any one know the recommend maximum number of users connect to a AP? And how can you tell the traffic going through the AP is congested?
    Cheers

SOme recommends the AP should have between 25-35 users max.
Cisco recommends no more than 25 authenticated users.  Maybe the 80 users are both authenticated (can go to the internet) and associated (not able to).
Remember that wireless is like a hub:  When one client talks, everyone stops to listen and waits for their turn.

  • PPPoE - max. quantity of users on single Ethernet segment

    Hi,
I'm wonder if anybody has experience in case of connecting huge quantity of PC-users on single ethernet segment (for example: one VLAN 802.1q) with PPPoE. How many users can works on the same VLAN ?
I know that differents PPPoE aggregators has each own differents limitations for maximum value of PPPoE sessions (for example: Cisco 6400 NRP-1: 2000, Cisco 6400 NRP-2: 4000).
I need to connect 3000-4000 users to PPPoE aggregator. Do I have to divide them to 4-5 (or more?) VLAN's ? Or can I make them working in one VLAN ?
    Best Regards,
    Marcin

    Marcin,
The limitation is for the device as a whole. It comes down to the memory and CPU.
It doesn't matter how many users you split off into seperate VLANs. If the router supports 2000 connections then your going to get 2000 regardless of the number of vlans configured.

  • Fans at max in single user mode

ok basically they never come on in normal use .... but im booted in as the root
    testing some memory with memtest.
is it safe [good for the G5] to have the fans running at maximum for an hour or two?
basically having never heard the fans on full, its quite scary!
    cheers

    lol. ok thanks.
though why do they come on [and stay on] at full speed?
i push my G5 to the max with intensive audio apps like logic pro etc, and they very rarely come on, definetly not on full speed either.
all its doing is testing the memory!

  • CFE max. number of user

    Hi,
How many users can one CFE support?
There are old document saying that CFE can support 30 concurrent users  on a P III server. Is it still true for better server such as 4-core server?
    Thank you

30 users for a P-III system is quite an outdated number indeed.
We often see numbers higher numbers than this and with enough cores and memory you can reach hundreds of concurrent connections which utilize all the cores on your system (you can use the linux top command and hit the 1 key - you'll notice how the compression engine uses all the cores on your system)
You can find newer numbers in our presentations:

  • Max. No. of processes per user in Linux(Form6i related)

I have problem with Form6i in Linux when the resource is used up. I want to find a way to limit the number of form server processes. In other UNIX they is a kernel parameter to limit the Max processes per user. Any idea to do that in Linux?
    Thanks!
    null

That you have not reached this limit indicates that you are doing a good job!
Tell the interviewer that if the limit is reached, then there is a design error.
If the interviewer presses harder, then there are two technical solutions. The first is in the authorizations tab of PFCG to use the "read old and merge new" option via the "Expert options". This you are probably doing hence you don't have the problem, but it can also be triggered manually within the menus in the authorization data.
There is one more joker you can play, but you must first tell the interviewer that they are using "Edit old data" to support a design error in the way they build and maintain roles.
    Cheers,

  • Cisco SA520 Max # of users?

                       Greetings,
I am trying to find out the max number of users the CISCO SA520 will support?
Also I can't seem to find the part numbers for adding users to SAS 520, I currently have an SA 520 which has I believe has 10 users built in.
Could someone point me to a page with the part numbers for adding 25 or 50 users?
I am assuming that if I purchase 25 users and for the SA 520 I will end up with 35 users?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Airport Express Booting Users (max users?)

    Hi everyone,
So here's the problem. I live in a residence hall, and I have my Airport Express setup with password because I'm aware of the 10 person limit. I've only given the password to connect to my two roommates and the three of us are the only ones using the Airport Express right now. Sometimes, when I open my laptop to connect, it does, but in the process it boots one of the other machines off the network. The process repeats if the booted machine tries to connect again - the oldest connection is kicked.
I assume this is happening because the Airport Express thinks that it has reached its maximum user limit of 10 simultaneous connections. However, when I open the Airport Utility it states that there are only 6 wireless clients (not only that but among the three of us we only have 8 wireless devices: a mix of laptops, iPhones, a PS3, and a wireless printer).
So it seems that my Airport Express can only support a max of 6 users. Is there any way to alleviate this problem, or can anyone think of another reason this is happening? Thanks in advance.

Bump...does anyone have an idea why this would be happening??

  • Max users extreme

    greetings
I need some data from those that know this stuff better than I.
What is the Max Number of users we can connect to an Airport base station?
answer = theoretical 54 right? okay
What is the real world answer?
at what number can we expect slow downs and delays; yes I know it depends on what they are doing. lets say thay are downloading, and streaming 256k streams.
    54mb/s / 256k = 210,.. i dont think so.
here is my problem. I have multiple lab situations 20+ compuers all wireless, and despite my explanations people still don't understand why if the Access Point is 54mb/s why 20 machines would be so slow. Sorry i dont have throughput for you, but I can say that manytimes nothing comes down, and they all have to wait for the same page to load. This I explain is due to the shared nature of Access point.
I need some numbers, can anyone break it down for me?
    thanks
    --jeff

The maximum number of simultaneous wireless client connections is 50.
The real-world data transfer speed of an 802.11g wireless connection is - under optimal conditions - around 20-24Mbps.
As you already referred to, it isn't really possible to provide you with the "real world" maximum number of wireless client connections since it depends entirely on what those clients are doing. If you had the maximum 50 client connections and all clients only used their network connection for email - there won't be any noticeable performance issues. On the other hand, if only a single wireless client spent the entire day downloading/uploading files between their computer and the internet or another computer on the LAN, that one user could easily require the full available bandwidth.
What I can tell you - a computer lab of twenty wireless clients all doing web browser is likely to lead to intolerably poor performance. A network of this size should really be cabled.
Another thing to consider - the speed of the connection to the internet itself.

  • After Effects not starting at all, stops at "initializing user interface"

I installed CS5 master collection trial version on W7 64 bit machine.
After Effects  doesn't load at all (it stops at "initializing user interface") and it's  even impossible to kill the  process in windows (never had this problem with any app). I can shut down all  the other processes, like dynamiclinkmanager.exe  or Adobe QT32  Server.exe, but aftereffects.exe  just won't stop and I need to restart my PC.
Also  Premier crashes after I click 'new project', or try to open something,  but the application starts and I do see the whole GUI.
I updated Quicktime, as well as my video card  drivers. All  other apps in the master collection seem to work fine. Uninstalled the  whole thing twice (with the remove preferences option), cleaned the registry with a comodo system clean up utility,  reinstalled also twice- nothing. Tried with the firewall turned off and  quick time completly uninstalled - nothing changed.

can you rename or delete "C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\10.0"
can you rename or delete for max 11
    "C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsmax\2011 - 64bit\enu"

  • Airport express max connections w/guest network?

I am the network admin at a medium sized church. I want to setup 5 airport express routers our building. The private network has a windows server that will act as the dhcp server and i will be enabling the guest network as a public wifi network for a parishioners and guests. I know the max number of users is spec’d at 50 so my questions are as follows: 1 does the 5 user spec actually hold up? 2: does only apply if the airport express is acting as a dhcp server or if it is just passing ip addresses through? 3: does the 50 connections include the guest network as well as the main/private or is it 50 for the main and 50 for the guest?

Sorry, no. That model Express can't create a "guest network". To do that you will need a current production model Express, or recent model Extreme or Time Capsule.

  • How to use the result of a sql query for a max () function

    Hi
I wrote a query on which i wrote
    "select max(id) from users "
how can i use the returned value.
if i made the var name ="userid"
can it be userid.rows[0] or what.
    thnx for any help

    Hi!
The result of this query will be the max ID of users' IDs.
    Let say we have:
    String sql="select max(users.id) from users";
    Statement st = ctx.conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = st.executeQuery(sql);
    rs.next();
So you can get the max Id in the following way:
    int maxId=rs.getInt("id");
