Max number of days in Target Range of Coverage Profile

I created a range of coverage profile to use for dynamic safety stock... I set my period indicator to 'M' for months... however it appears that the system calculates my average daily requirement and then multiplies that by my target, min, and max. the field for target, min, max is a two character field, so does this mean that i can not exceed a target of 99 days of supply?

My period indicator is set to "M", and when the system calculates my average daily usage it does base the calculation on monthly periods. However when MRP is executed it calculates my target safety stock level by multiplying the avg. daily requirement and the target range of coverage (avg.daily req. X target DOS). What this means is if i want to keep 3 months of safety stock, in the profile i have to put '90' in as my target range of coverage, rather than '3'.
Therefore, because the field is only 2 characters you can't have more than 99 days of supply... correct?

Hello,
The range of coverage indicates how many days the safety stock can last and it is also needed to calculate the dynamic safety stock.
Using the range of coverage profile, you can determine a safety stock level based on current requirements. This safety stock level is calculated using the average daily requirements quantity. Range of coverage profile is in the material master -MRP 2 view.
In this IMG activity, you specify the range of coverage profile for calculating the dynamic safety stock.

We are using the Coverage profile range as 1 day in our project. But our client requested us to change the profile range to 1/2 day in order to to support the tighter inventory flow into the plant.

How to change the max number of member display in Target Group

When I search and open a Target Group it displays me maximum of 100 entries of members over 11 pages. how do I increase or decrease the max number.

Hi,
you can set the number of members that will be displayed in target group.
Go to any profile group -> open the graphical modelling -> open settings.
Here you can ajust the displayed number of members in a targetgroup.
These settings are user-dependent and saved in table CRMD_MKTTG_PERS.

Count the number of days in the selected range using Customer exit

Hi Experts,
we have requirment where user is asking to add a column to report, which will have 'count of days for which key figure is having values' for each of the months and the Header would be 'Day Count'

In our report we have two characteristics site no. and product and we have 6 key figures of type quantity and Input for the report is Fiscal year/period
So in the report Key figures are populated with values for respective site no. and product combination
Now the user wants new column in report which will have header u2018Day countu2019 and it should Simply count the number of days in the selected range that have a volume different than 0 for key figure

How can I calculate the maximum number of days between two dates in a range of dates?

I have a column of dates spanning the couse of a few months. I would like to know if I can calculate the maximum number of days between each row and display the highest number. I currently have another column that calculates the days betwen the rows and I am currently just looking at the totals and highlighting the highest period.
Is this possible? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

This sounds totally possible, Can you post a screen shot of your table to make responding more focused? If you mean you want to:
A) compute the difference (in days) between two date in the same row, then
B) find the max duration (in days)
Here is my take on this problem:
D2 = C2-B2
select D2 and fill down
F1=MAX(D)
to perform the conditional formatting (to highlight the max duration) select column D, then set up conditional formatting as shown in the 1st image

Date range for a variable from number of days enterd

I have a requirement like ,
Number of Days should be enterd in the Selection screen ,
If user enters 10 Days in selection screen, then it should bring the records like date from = sy date and date to = ( the date after ten days from today ) for a characteristic( validity ) which holds the dates ,
i believe that i can create one formula variable to enter the number of days and how do i relate this with the other variable in the char ( validity ) ,

Range of Coverage with less than a day

Hi PP Gurus
Kindly suggest if anyone of you had this issue and how it is handled? Is there any OSS related to this.
The coverage profile field in the MRP-2 view of Material Master is based on Min, Target and Max coverages defined in days.
This is leading business to maintain more inventory than needed which does not serve any purpose by using the dynamic safety stock.
What business needs is the Min, Target and Max coverages are all to be defined in terms of less than a day. So that inventories are maintained at the optimal level.
SAP has come up with safety time period profile with option of safety time less than a day. The way it works is based on time not by quantity. It simply moves the planning of the material by the amount
of time specified.
Other than this do we have any OSS which can fix this issue.
To use the repetetive mfg planning table and to see the target stock, coverage profiles need to be defined for all materials. This target stock is needed for business to make a decision on how much quantity to run the production for each SKU.
Can anyone suggest how can we proceed on this.

I have already tested with safety time period profile; but the way it works is it moves the ordering dates ahead by the amount of time we define in safety time and safety time % fields in the period profile.
Also with this set up when we come to planning table(MF50) we cannot see the target stock. For these materials the system calculates the actual range of coverage but not target stock.
In our business scenario; we need target stock value in deciding on the production quantity.
Regarding MRP resolution - did you mean we can run MRP only once in a day?

Prorate absence Quota monthly based on number of days worked.

I need to Generate Absence Quota Prorated Monthly on the following criteria.
4.5 days Per month.
0 - 5 day = 0.5
6-10 days = 1.5days
11- 15 days = 2.5 days
16-20days = 3 days
21 - 25 = 3.5 days
26 and above = 4.5 days
54 Quota Yearly entitlement
Negative Time evaluation -
Time evaluation run at end of the month.
If use Base Entilement as .15 / days and daily accural in Table T559L ,
then without any PCR quota is generated but for 31 days it generates 4.65 days and people joining middle of the month is not as per the criteria mentioned above ie as per number of day worked.
Can any one guide me with the steps and PCR's required if any.

As per my earlier thread description when i make it daily accural and assign this rounding rule then for 31 days it calculates 4.65 days and for people joining middle or last week of the month it is not prorating as per the requirement,

Credit Check on Open Items number of day

Hi
We have setup automatic credit control and all seems to work fine, we now want to expandon this to include open items. So we have created a static block on open items.
The next step was to only include open itesm that have been open for longer than 60 day, sowe have entered 60 in the number of day box. But order are stillgoing on block due to this statoc check.
We have 0 set in the max open items box.
Do we need to enter anything in this box. We want the check to only include open items older than 60 days and the credit limit not to go over the main customers credit limit

Do you not bother reading what people have already posted? Read the API docs on the Calendar class.

How to get the number of days

see we have 365 days per year for first half we are going to have 180+ days (if we select first half as the prompt and we select week number as prompt and the last date of that particular week should show in the report)and number of days upto that date or week also should display...if we select second half and week number of that particular half it should show number of days upto that week and highest date of that week number of days should count from 1 to 180+ only mean (july 1 st is 1 st day)

You need to use timestampdiff function for calculating number of days. One of the way to calculate is like this

If you want calculate between 1st day of the half and last date of a week then use following

Max number of dataproviders in the same workbook

Hi,
Do you know please what is the max number of dataproviders (recommanded by SAP) we can use in the same workbook / Bex analyzer?
For information, we are in BI 7 based on excel 2003.

One suggestion is:
Each tab (copy of the query) would have distinct filter value(s). In workbook settings, Uncheck "Allow Refresh of Individual Queries". Also in WB settings, Do Not Refresh at Opening. For the entire 50-tab workbook, the filter is limited to a minimum: company code and the date range because the other filters are hardcoded in each tab. When you refresh and change variable values at opening the file, all you enter is the company code value and the date
You might also want to change the Grid Properties: Uncheck Apply Formatting (for performance); and Uncheck Allow Navigation. You can add these back later. Might as well uncheck Sort.
I have my own question about the DPs. Can you rename them from the generic Data Provider 1 or copy of Data Provider 1?

Max number of records in MDM workflow

Hi All
Need urgent recommendations.
We have a scenario where we need to launch a workflow upon import of records. The challenge is source file contains 80k records and its always a FULL load( on daily basis) in MDM. Do we have any limitation in MDM workflow for the max number of records? Will there be significant performance issues if we have a workflow with such huge number of records in MDM?
Please share your inputs.

Hi Ravi,
Yes it can cause performance overhead and you will also have to optimise MDIS parametrs for this.
Regarding WF i think normally it is 100 records per WF.I think you can set a particular threshold for records after which the WF will autolaunch.
It is difficult to say what optimum number of records should be fed in Max Records per WF so I would suggest having a test run of including 100/1000 records per WF.Import Manager guide say there are several performance implications of importing records in a WF,so it is better to try for different ranges.
