MAX PXI-1010 test fails to find SCXI modules

I cannot get MAX PXI-1010 test to find SCXI-1104 modules installed. They are connected to DEVICE 1: PXI-6040E (through PXI-SCXI Internal Bus). I'm am running Windows95, Labview 5.1, MAX 1.0.1. DAQ driver 6.5.1. I tried removing and replacing the PXISYS.INI file but this did not help. Embedded Controller is a PXI-8156. Tried two different chassis and a different DAQ card. I even removed each card and checked all the connectors and tried only one module, still no luck. Missing?

Is this module an 1104 or an 1104C? Are you missing any other modules that are installed or is it the just the 1104 that can't be found? Have you tried using a different 1104? Make sure that your controlling DAQ device is installed in the right-most PXI slot.
If none of these suggestions help, try uninstalling and reinstalling NI-DAQ. Let me know the results of these suggestions.

Is there a single SCXI module suitable for mixed sensor inputs?

I'm am attempting to put together an SCXI system to acquire signals from a number of different sensor types. I have a large number of thermocouples for which I have decided to use the SCXI-1102 modules. I also have a single pressure transducer (spec unknown so I'll assume strain gauge type), a single accelerometer (again, spec unknown) and possibly some straight forward voltages (count and spec unknown so assume -10V to +10V max range).
Is there a single SCXI module through which I can acquire the pressure transducer, accelerometer and voltage signals? Or maybe just use 2 modules instead of 3 if I have a SCXI-1530 for my accelerometer and a different module for the voltages and pressure transducer? I was looking at the SCXI-1121 which sounds promising for the voltages and pressure but then was unsure as to which terminal block to use to allow the combination of signals (I could possibly live with a -5V to +5V range if necessary).
(Extra info: I am using TC-2095 blocks with my SCXI-1102 modules so can't really use spare inputs on those for voltage inputs).

Thanks for your enquiry. You have obviously done a great deal of research into this matter already. I am afraid that it is unlikely that you will be able to use a single SCXI module to carry out all the functions you have listed. As accelerometers require such specialised conditioning, it will require a dedicated module - as you already mentioned, something like the 1530 (4 channel accelerometer input module) would be ideal.
However, you have a number of different options for the pressure, voltage and temperature measurements.
For example, you could purchase a 1520 mudule for your pressure measurements, and then use a general purpose 1102B for the voltage and temperature (you would require the 1303 isothermal terminal block to condition the thermocouple readings... and bypass the CJC technology for the voltage readings).
Or, perhaps you could use the 1102 thermocouple module for your temperature readings, and then use a 1102B to take the voltage and pressure readings. Obviously this would involve making your own bridge configuration for the pressure sensor, but that should be fairly easy.
Before you make any final decisions, I would recommend that you call your local branch of NI and speak with a sales representative. Perhaps, a member of the field sales staff could actually come to see you to discuss the matter face to face.
lastly, it sounds like you have a relatively high channel count for some of your readings, which is why you have decided to use the SCXI platform. I was just wondering if you had considered compact DAQ (cDAQ), which combines DAQ hardware with signal conditioning. Higher spec, ease of use, lower channel count. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

Max and Automation will not recognize my scxi portion of my PXI-1050 chassis

I have a PXI-1050 chassis with a PXI-8187 controller. As most of you know the chassis is a PXI/SCXI combo chassis. When I go to measurement and autoation explorer using NI-DAQ 6.9.3, and whatever version of explorer that comes with that, All my devices are listed, the PXI-6071, PXI-6030 and 31 etc. But when I right click on the device and create a new device the option I have to use is PXI-1010 chassis, becuase there is no option for a PXI-1050. The entry is created but it will always fail the self check. "Unable to test chassis at this time". Anyone familliar with this problem? I looked on NI.com to find a PXISYS.ini file for this chassis but with no luck.

The PXI-1050 must be configured as a PXI-1010 chassis in Traditional DAQ. The PXI-1010 and PXI-1011 are legacy versions of the PXI-1050 and PXI-1052 chassis, respectively, but Traditional (Legacy) NI-DAQ only has native support for the legacy version of the chassis. But the two chassis are virtually the same.
Also you might consider upgrading to the newer version of the Traditional DAQ driver. It can be downloaded for free by going to www.ni.com and then clicking on Drivers and Updates. Currently the newest version is 7.4.2.

Can't configure a SCXI chassis (PXI-1010) with a PXI-8176 and a PXI-6052E.

I have a PXI-1010 chassis with a PXI-8176 running Windows 2000. In the rightmost PXI slot, I have a PXI-6052E. The remaining PXI slots are either empty or have misc. modules in them. I have a SCXI-1520 in the leftmost SCXI slot.
I am trying to get MAX to recognize my SCXI chassis with the SCXI-1520. When I try to add the SCXI chassis in MAX by right-clicking "Devices and Interfaces" or "NI-DAQmx", I leave the communication mode to communicate on the PXI backplane, choose SCXI slot zero, and find that the communication device field is greyed out where I want to choose the PXI-6052E. For some reason,the wizard used to add an SCXI chassis does not see my PXI-6052E pluged in to the leftmost sl
ot. Strangely, MAX does see the PXI-6052E in the "Devices and Interfaces" tree. I verified that the 6052E is working correctly. I also verified that the pxisys.ini file is in the WINNT directory. What is the problem?

I am first trying to install the SCXI chassis using the SCXI 1520 user manual. I put a PXI-6052E in the right-most PXI slot and the SCXI 1520 in a SCXI slot. On page 1-12 of the SCXI-1520 user manual, it instructs me to power up the chassis, right-click on MAX "devices and interfaces", choose the correct chassis, and click finish. The problem is, after I click finish, a window appears that forces me to choose a DAQ device. The SCXI chassis doesn't configure correctly because the wizard doesn't see the PXI-6052E.

PXI 1010 Chassis power failed.

Now one PXI 1010 backplane power failed on PXI section, but SCXI side can power on.I ever checked nad reset circuit breaker, no help. I need your help! Who will give me a kind hand?

If you have already checked the circuit breaker and have verified that it is not tripped, more than likely there is a power failure with the PXI portion of the power supply. I would create a phone service request at www.ni.com/ask. We can only handle returns through our phone support. At that point, if you indicate that you have a damaged product, we can work with you to get it fixed.

Error-200284 for PXI-1010 MXI-3 fiberoptic connection to a PXI-6533.

In the instruction lab in which I work, we have two types of systems:
1)SCXI-1000 chassis connected by copper to a PXI-6035E card in a PC.
2)PXI-1010 chassis connected by fiberoptic from a MXI-3 to a PXI-6030E card in a PC. A PXI-6533 handles the digital I/O.
We have LabVIEW8.5.1 running on both types of systems. On the SCXI-1000 system, the LabView example Acq&GraphVoltage-IntClk-DigStart.vi runs just fine. It does not run on the PXI-1010 systems. Instead, I eventually get Error-200284. In both cases we use PFI0 or PFI1, and digital ground, for the triggers, connected to lines 38, 39, and 33, respectively, in the SCXI-1302 terminal block, which connects to an SCXI-1180 feedthrough panel.
I searched the forums and all ni.com for information on this problem, and have not been able to find any relevant information.

I think I'm starting to understand the problem you are having. Unfortunately, since on a SCXI module, all channels are generally multiplexed through AI0, the PXI/SCXI backplane only shares the necessary channels i.e. one AI channel and any required timing signals. Therefore, even if though you are using the SCXI-1180 module with a SCXI-1349 communicating adapter, you will not be able to access the other channels on your PXI-6030E since there is no physical connections being made to those channels in the backplane. There are 2 solutions around this problem:
1. You can use an SCXI-1349 cable assembly to connect the front of the PXI-6030E module to the back of the SCXI-1349 adapter. This way the unused pins on the DAQ module can be accessed through the SCXI-1180.
2. You can decide not to use the SCXI-1180 and simply use a standard 68-pin terminal block with your PXI-6030E and connect your 5V sync pulse to the PFI pins. This will still allow you to sample off of the SCXI-1100 since those channels are connected via the backplane.

MIO 6070E doesn't work properly in PXI 1010

How do you do?
I'm trying to set a DAQ/condtol system with PXI 1010 chassis and LabVIEW. The hardware are PXI 1010, MIO 6070E, SCXI 1163R and 1102 to control relay and log temperature data. The system that consist of SCXI 1000 chassis with 1163R and 1102 via MIO 6062E on same LabVIEW code works properly. However, SCXI 1163R and 1102 that doesn't worked simulataneously in PXI 1010 chassis via MIO 6070E with muliplexed connection. If temperature can be get and relay doesn't work and vice versa if relay work. When I change the connection of 1163R from 6070E to DIO 6602 in MAX, both of function works simultaneously. But I think it's not all right.
Surely checked MAX and even pxi.ini file. And no suggestion from Korean expert
except it's wierd and time has passed meaninglessly. Beg your help.

I'm trying to control electric devices with relay by 1163R and get temperature data from those devices by 1102 SCXI module. I checked the jumpers in 1163R for MIO and connected two modules to 6070E for PXI in MAX. However the operation is still impossible.
As you expected, I receive error code 10007 or 10004 when I stop the operation. Frankly I don't know what the error messages means because there was no error when I developed the LabVIEW code in 6030E and SCXI 1000 chassis.

Can I use "Getting_Started_with_SCXI-153X" with the NI PXI-1010 ?

I have the NI SCXI-1530 and the NI PXI-1010 and I'm having trouble getting the "Getting_Started_with_SCXI-153X" software to work with this arrangement. Can these devices use the NI software or will it have to be modified or rewritten for this specific situation?

I would highly reccomend that you avoid using the Getting Started with
SCXI 153x VI as it is written in Traditional DAQ. There is a buch
better VI written using DAQmx that can be found in the NI Example
Finder. There are 2 ways to open up the NI Example Finder:
1) On the LabVIEW startup screen select the down arrow next to the "Open" button and select "Examples..."
2) If you have a VI open, go to the Menu Bar and select Help>>Find Examples...
Once the Example Finder is open, click on the Search tab. Type in
"1530" as your keyword and then double-click on "1530" when it appears
in the "Double-click keyword(s)" box. There should be an example
in the examples box called "Cont Acq Accel Samples-Int Clk-Analog
Start-SCXI 153x.vi". Double-click on it to open it.
Alternatively, you can find this example at the following file path:
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\examples\DAQmx\Analog In\Measure Acceleration.llb
Once this is open you can find instructions by turning on Context Help
and hovering over the icon of the VI in the upper right-hand corner OR
you can go to the Menu Bar and select File>>VI Properties.
When the VI Properties window pops up, select "Documentation" for the
category. The Example Finder will also have these instructions in
the Information Box when you select the example.

Open Registry Editor.
In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
Create the following value (REG_SZ): Working Directory and give it a value that points to the new database folder.
Make sure you back up the registry before you do any changes on it.

Error message when trying to sign in with iTunes: ConnectionManager::invoke::failed to find service connection url.

I recently signed out of itunes on my imac and when i tried to sign back in i get the error message: ConnectionManager::invoke::failed to find service connection url. If i try again i get another box asking if i've forgotten my password. But my password is definitely right as i just used to it make an account on this support page. Any simple ways of fixing this?

Just to test the simple things first, did you try to sign in using another credential?
If only yours fails, then is a RIM issue, otherwise is indeed your Playbook failure.

Hard disk test failed on HP Pavillion dv6-1100eo notebook

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1100eo Entertainment Notebook PC (P/N: NR597EA) with Vista 32-bit. Unfortunately no warranty left in and general I have been very happy with this notebook.
However suddenly Wondows would not start up - and it did not even find Startup Recovery partition on the harddisk. As I wasn't sure if this Startup Recovery was on hard disk or not - I ordered System Recovery DVDs for this Scandinavian language version.
These disks did not work - so I figured I have probably not done my homework before ordering those disks.
Then I ran system Diagnostics (even if I have a old BIOS version F.03). On the diagnositics - both Quick and Full Hard disk test failed during the first 1% of the scan.
Is there anything that can be done - or is the only option new hard disk? In case - what hard disk is recommended that is not too expensive - as I don't want to invest too much into a soon 3 year old notebook.
I recently bougth an external harddisk (1 TB) based on USB connection. Can that be used bypassing internal HD. In this way I would increase HD capacity and not invest anymore into this notebook - since I already have the recovery DVDs
It is probably only a time question before I will buy a new HP notebook - that is why I don't want any long permanent fix of this problem.

Hi,
Sorry to say, but you won't be able to install or boot Vista from the external HDD, so if you need to get the notebook working, you're going to have to replace the internal drive.
The drive on the link below is an example of one that would be fine for your notebook.
500Gb Hard Drive
The procedure to replace the Hard Drive starts on Page 57 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
Once done, simply use your Recovery DVDs to reinstall the Operating System on the new drive.

HP Pavilion DV7; System will not boot; Memory Test Failed using Advanced System Diagnostics

Not sure exactly how, but I managed to contracted several variants of the nasty Rovnix virus and now my system will not even boot into Safe Mode after trying to restore to several different restore points. Enabled bootlogging, but not sure how to retrieve the log.
Currently am able to get into HP Advanced Diagnostics and began Start-Up Test. Test failed on Memory Module:
Failure ID: Q0AE6C-5LS79T-MFH15G-406N03
Any next steps or directional assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

ReportDocument.Load Exception: Failed to find Report Applicatication Server

I am using ReportDocument.Load(InfoObject infoObject, EnterpriseSession enterpriseSession) to load from an InfoObjects retrieved using InfoStore.Query. Though the query returns a valid report (the InfoObjects object is populated), I continue to get the following exception:
Exception Message = "Load report failed."
InnerException Type = System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException
InnerException Message = "Failed to find an available Report Application Server."
According to [this thread|Failed to find an available Report Application Server;, I need to check CCM to make sure the Report Application Server is running. It does not show up in my CCM, but in CMC it is running and enabled. I also verified that the Guest account is enabled and has permissions to the reports folder and RAS.
Is there a way to test (with code) that my RAS is running and accessible? The code I am running is located on a different machine than the BOE server.
My purpose in attempting this is to export a report to disk using ReportDocument.ExportToDisk.

Real racing 3 - error, failed to find players

Hi, first time here.
love RR3 but the online multiplayer can be a pain.
at times when I try to race it will be fine, but then often after a race when I want to race again it comes up with 'error, failed to find players', and once that happens I have to leave the game for a while, turn ipad off and on or reset ipad to be allowed to race again. This is with online multiplayer only, everything else works well. No perceived problems with game centre synching or my internet.
any ideas?

One thing that may be happening is one or more of the players you just played with has left the party. If you mean when you exit out of a party and start another matchmaking, then you first want to check your internet speed and connection. you can download a speed test app for that. Secondly, a nice fresh start for your Game Center account may help. Signing out of Game Center by going to Settings>Game Center> Tapping on your blue apple ID and signing out, then signing back in. Maybe that will help something out? If not, make sure you're updated to the latest version of the app and iPad. 7.0.3 is a couple versions behind. iPads are currently on 7.1.2. If all else fails, contact EA about it. they have excellent customer service. I hope this helps!
