Max Temperature of mainboard and CPU?

What's the maximum permissible working temperature (in ºC) for the mainboard and the AMD64X2 4400 CPU.
At the moment Corecenter shows:
 mainboard: 41ºC
 CPU: 47ºC
and CPU fan is almost at maximum: 1875rpm and  NBfan: 800rpm
Is that too much?
Mainboard: MSI K8N neo 4 platinum PCB1
CPU: AMD64X2 4400 CPU
Thank you!

That NB fan speed seems a bit low... 800 rpm? Stock is 7,000rpm  This might be more Core Center inaccuracy at work.
Try monitoring it with something else other than Core Center - like SpeedFan for example, & see what it says.
For some reference, here's the temps for my Neo4 Plat. PCB 1.0 w/DC Opteron running @ 2.5Ghz & 1.45v. See my sig for the other junk... These temps reflect a room temp of 77F & a well ventilated case.
CPU temps: 36-49C
chipset/system: 29-32C max.
- I've always used a Vantec Copper VGA cooler in place of the stock fan for the chipset, as I've always heard/read that the stock one is a piece of loud garbage.

  • Best combination of MSI mainboard and processor

    I have two MSI mainboards, the 845e Max (MS-6566E v1.X) and 645e Max-C (MS-6547E v1.X), and two CPU's, a Pentium IV (2.4 GHz 533) and a Celeron (1.8 GHz 400).
The harddisks are ATA 133 (Maxtor 60 GB), and the memory 512 MB DDR 2700, CAS 2.5.
What is the best and fastest combination of mainboard and CPU?

    Ooops, mixed up the boards...
It's all in the little 'E' in the end.
    6566E
    6566
So use the 2.4/533 CPU on the 6566E and the celeron on the 6547.

  • Macbook Air 2011 CPU Maxes Out then Overheats and Shuts Down...

I've been having this problem for a while now but have learned to deal with it with SMC Fan Control to basically keep my fans maxed out at all times. This is obviously not ideal.
The problem is that at any given time some small, random task in activity monitor shows CPU usage that is very high, often at least 50% CPU and other times as high as 120% It has happened with the tasks like dock, safari web content and virtually any other task you can imagine.
For example, I just tried emptying my recycling bin and it hung half way through then my computer shut down. What is going on here?
    Details:
    - Macbook Air mid-2011 running Mavericks
    - Never have more than one app open at any given time, usually just Safari with about 5 tabs, max
    - 3rd party applications running in background include Dropbox, Copy, Backblaze, Flux, Sophos anti virus, Jumpcut, Caffeine and that's it
If I'm doing something like a Time Machine backup, I have to disable Wifi, max out the fans and only then will the Macbook Air remain cool enough to complete the backup, otherwise the Time Machine process maxes out the CPU, overheats and shuts down. This happens with virtually everything now.
How can I start trouble shooting this problem? I've run the hardware and system repair checks with no results, done an SMC reset, etc.
This really seems like a software issue more than anything, like something related to the way tasks/processes are handled...any ideas anyone? This is such an annoying problem!

Do the problems also occur in "Safe Mode"?
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
You must disable FileVault before you can start your Mac in Safe Mode.
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
Merely starting your Mac in Safe Mode is not intended to resolve the problem, it's to observe its performance without certain additional components.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.

    Hello all,
I have noticed that my T410 i5 m 540 2.53gh runs very hot when at stress (mainly when playing old games, they seem to play ok but am concerned that this maybe damaing the machine so have stopped doing this).
I would ike to be able to test the temperatures of both the cpu and gpu and have installed tpfc.62, this is showing my cpu temp but displays n/a next to my gpu?. can anyone advise how i can check my gpu temp also?. is there a official lenovo tool / Bios etc....
my cpu is at 60 C while typing this, is this a normal temp for lite browsing?....
    many thanks for reading...

    Hi williamoj,
Download and install TPFanControl, there is no official tool from lenovo but this tool is especially programmed for thinkpads and is used by many users:- http://www.staff.uni-marburg.de/~schmitzr/donate.html

    hi all,
Iv recently updated  my pc for gaming and was wondering what the max voltages and cpu temps are as i have pc alert 4 and when i was playing pc alert minimized the game and beeped at me i dont think it was my processor as the max was set to 75*c and was only running at 49*c.
the thing is how am i ment to know whats what as the voltages are not explained from the left thay are about 1.5v, 3.5v, 5.5v and 12.5v. the game im running is far cry 2
    Any views whould be great.
    Thanks chris
    my pc specs are:
    2.9ghz 5600 x2 athlon cpu
    4gb 800mhz ram
    xp pro
    msi k9ngm bios v 3.1

Remove PC Alert as I don't think it even reads your board properly.
    SpeedFan is way better.

  • MS-6309 and CPU problem

    Hi
I have MS-6309 V2.1 (newest bios) and a regular Intel Celeron 933MHz. Recently I tried to upgrade it to Intel Coppermine 1GHz 256kB cache, but it was doing mathematical errors (random freezing, kernel error, different md5sums of the same file) (in any OS). MEMTEST went OK so I thought the CPU was bad so I tested it in my friend's mainboard and it was OK, so I tested my friend's CPU (the same, only little older release) in my mobo and it was doing the same errors.
So my mobo is bad or it doesn't have proper microcode for my CPU (which may be eventually newer than newest BIOS release) what brings me to point-> How can I update microcode in old AMI BIOS? MMTool and AMIMMDOS works only on newer bioses.
    Sorry for my english

So here's specifications of my old creepy computer:
    Mobo: MS-6309 V2.1 with BIOS v3.6
    RAMs: Apacer 128MB UNB PC133 CL3 + PQI PC-133 MS3828UPS
    CPU: Intel pentium III 1000/256/133/1.7V Q111A368-0941 SL4MF
    PSU: regular 300W
    HD: irrelevant
    RM: CD-ROM 54X read
To Frederik about windows: There never had been one (according to former owner) before I got it and there also has never been windows since I got it.
To Stu: I was looking for some old computer to be used as media-centre and webserver when I got this one for free from my friend. And it was beyond my expectations, cos I was looking for some 500MHz, 64MB RAM (which doesn't have problem playing 1400x1050 xvids and DVD's).
OS: Gentoo, Debian, GeeXbox, Xubuntu, TinyME, Sidux, and others..
Either they run from harddisk or CDROM they freeze or do mistakes in calculations (usually it means crashed program or kernel or programs do what they shouldn't). If you f.e. run md5sum with the same file 10x at least two sums will be different.
CPU temperature doesn't go beyond 40-45°C.
The CPU runs well in other mobos (with the same rams or not) and other 1GHz coppermines runs also wrong in my mobo (with my rams or any other rams). So i think it's either CPU problem or BIOS problem (old microcode or something else).
    sorry for my english

  • Can we control user request w.r.t Memory and CPU utilization in Oracle 10g

    Dear All,
We are having Production with Oracle 10.2.0.4 (5 Node RAC, 32Gb RAM each) running on RHEL5.2 with 12000 Users. We have some schema say FIN, HRMS, SALES, REPORT and many dedicated users for those schemas. We need to control the user request against these schema with respect to Memory (or CPU utilization)
Suppose users using FIN schema can use Maximum 40 % of Total Memory, HRMS schema can use Max 20%, SALES can use Max 20% and REPORT can use Max 20%.
Is it possible to create any Service in Server side to handle this type of scenareo or any existing service which can be customised to fullfil this?
    Please suggest me.......
    Thanks,

JDBC 'applications' quite often don't use persistent connections, and often do not exit gracefully by calling 'exit' or 'disconnect'.
This means the session will continue to exist.
It also means, if you don't establish any form of connection pooling and/or dead connection detection, you can throw whatever amount of memory in the server, and you will continue to report
'Now problems is coming'. Apart from crippled English, the general lesson any DBA should know is how these 'applications' operate, and, contrary to some, you can never ever fight problems caused by applications,
by throwing memory and cpu at the problem.
When I read your text, I also assume the application is not using PrepareStatement calls and not using bindvariables, this is why your 'application' is burning the CPU.
Find those 'application developers', sue them, or better still : Beat them with a whip, and have them fix their 'crapplication'.
Paraphrasing William Jefferson Clinton: It's the application, stupid!

  • What is the CPU usage of X and cpu temp on your Arch?

I just installed the new arch 2009 02. Everything seems to be perfectly out of box, I have lxde DE.
But I noticed that in idle X is using around 2~3% cpu compared to below 1% in the old Arch I had before. It seems there is a little lag in the desktop experience, not obvious though, but not as responsive as my old Arch. Also the cpu temperature under lm_sensors gives me 43 constantly compared to 39 in my old Arch?! This is not some random sample of temperature, I constantly monitored it to realize it indeed runs hotter.
Also, when I open one mplayer, it uses 40% cpu + 20% for X. If I open 2 mplayer, fan will go noisy and cpu hit full and both videos become choppy! This never happened in my old Arch. I search the forum for quite a while, but have not found exactly the reason.
Some help or information? Greatly appreciate it.:D

Hmm interesting.  How old was the "old arch" you are talking about?
Because if it was quite a while ago that you ran Arch and recorded those temperature readings, I might wonder if your hardware is aging or dust is gathering inside your computer case, decreasing air flow and increasing temperature.
My laptop also runs almost constantly around 43 degrees and about the same at X idle.  This seems normal to me though.

  • Monitor database and CPU and send events

    Hi.
I would like to monitor the Oracle instance and the CPU and when something happens I want to send an event(e-mail or SMS). Is this possible using Oracle Enterprise Manager alone? Or do I need a third-party product like "Big brother"(http://www.bb4.com/). I have generated an event in OEM but I can't see where I am supposed to handle the event that it generates.

    works perfectly,

    Revision C0
Mobil Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 Penryn
1592mhz (265.33 x 6.0) <--- this is actually really exciting cause it shows that powerstepping is now functioning in windows.

CPU temps wile posting this in windows xp
    CPU #0

    Core #1 - 66*C
This software uses the new temperature probe on newer cpu's not the older messed up thermal diode on P4D's and earlier.

  • How to calculate Min & Max temperature with just air temperature

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement in which I have to build a Bex Query in which I have to find the Min & Max temperature of a day if a specific date range is used in the query.I have checked the multiprovider and there is only one field available
which is "Air temperature" and it's a KF. I have built a query which will give you the temperature for the day if you give a particular date range.
My question is,is it possible for me to find the min and max temperature with just air temperature as input?
Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Hi,
You have to create two KFs for Min and Max temperatures,
In  Min Temp KF definition, Aggregation Tab-->Minimum--> reference char as 0calday
In Max Temp KF definition, Aggregation tab-->Maximum-->Reference char as 0calday

  • MacBook Pro Battery and CPU behavior

I realized, when i do not have the abttery inside the macbook, what i do not fotne, to save chargecycles, that my cpu wil not go above 1ghz. i observed this with the use of the coreduotemp application, wich can be free downloaded and monitors temperature and cpu speed of your macbook. i wrote to the developper, and he confirms that observation, so it is not an software bug.
First, i invite you to test this on your macs and report, and secound i would like to have a solution, i bought this mac for power, not for slow power. maybe someone knows how to disabe this PMU behavior, thx

This is not true! I use CoreDuoTemp as well and I can get the full power of my CPU on batteries.

  • Vcore and cpu ratio

Hey, i have the K7N2G and i have some problems changing the vcore and cpu ratio in bios...
my cpu is a XP 2100+, it only boots with default vcore and 1.625, and default cpu ratio... if i change the cpu ratio it doesn't boot... what's wrong? what can i do to change de vcore and cpu ratio without crashing? the max fsb that i can use is 157 (~=2050Mhz -> 157*13).
    I have OCZ-EL 256Mb

Wonkanoby....I think you are incorrect (but not 100% sure). I have a 2100 Tbred B and I don't have to use the wire trick if I put it in the EPOX...ASUS..... The nforce2 should unlock the Tbred B core, am I mistaken here?  I also had the same problem as the above user, but I CAN get the msi to unlock it at some lower multipliers. I'm a little confused why the asus and epox nforce2 boards unlocked my chip, but the msi will not. Any ideas?

  • Max temperature for PB?

Is there a max ambient temperature at which one can use a PB G4 12" ?
Being in Europe, we don't have air conditioning in our home or office.. As the temperatures climb, I'm using a fan to blow air onto my PB to keep it cooler.
Today's temperatures were 32°C ( approx 90°F ). Two years ago it was edging 120°F (in the shade). From what I can see on the Apple website, they don't mention PBs specifically, but max temps for iMacs and Cubes are 35°C (95°F ).
Should I be worried about anything over 35°C?
    Cheers,
    Awfers

The max. operating temperature for the PowerBook is also 35° C. I expect this is stated because when the ambient temperature rises above this level, the PowerBook cannot adequately cool itself down. If you want to err on the side of caution turn it off until the temperature drops, however I'm sure you've noticed that the case gets ice cold when a fan is directed at it - personally I wouldn't worry about it.

  • Aperture and CPU %

I have a hopefully easy question,
When im exporting files from aperture (just full size jpeg) in activity monitor it usually shows the CPU percentage up round 180%.
I didnt understand this at first but through searching i learnt that its 100% per core, so having 2 cores equals 200% total. Ok makes sense.
What im actually asking is after aperture has finished exporting the processor % is still hovering between 140% and 190%, even though it (looks like) its not doing anything?
Is this normal? My fans sound like they are going ape, but not max, not far off it though.
even as i type this message, a good 15 mins after exports finished and all, the CPU is still jumping between 150% and 190% in aperture?? Real Memory is at round 650mb and virtual memory is around the same, a little higher if anything.
Also with large exports (500 photos) it can take a VERY long time to export.
Is it safe for the CPU to be sitting on 190% the whole time or is this shortening the life of my mac?
(Edit): there we go - 20mins after exports finish the fans have stopped and CPU is on 0.1%. Real and virtual memory still the same.
    Is this normal?

Argh you would hear of it.
I just exported the same photos again and after it finished exporting the CPU dropped to 0.1%....
    Dont know whats doing there.
Take a broken camera to a camerashop and it'll start working again!!
I'll keep my eye on this and if it happens again il post back.
As far as i could tell Aperture wasnt doing anything in the background, but im not really sure how to tell?
Is the Activity window the section below when the fan thing spins when exporting?
If so then no, nothing was happening.
So my other question about exporting, is it ok for the CPU to run so hard for so long? Is it doing damage or should i export in like 100 lots of photos at a time?
Just a bit frustrating, my 1dmk3 jpegs are bout 5mb average and take 30secs each to export, 5dmk2 jpegs are 10mb average and take over a minute to export (hence the annyoance when you have 500+ photos to export)
Dont even ask me how long it takes to export the RAW files from these cameras.
Iv started shooting big jobs in Jpeg just to speed up processing....

  • AE CS5 not using all memory and cpu

I am using After Effects CS5, wondering why the rendering is not using my CPU and memory full. It`s using only 15 % of memory and sometimes up to 50 % of CPU. What can I do to make it use better my hardware.
The current rendering is chroma key using Keylight.
I understand it can`t use all the hardware, but why only 15 %, because everybody is talking that you need a lot of RAM for AE.
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 - overclocked to 3.4 GHz
    MEMORY: 6 GB DDR3
    GRAPHIC: nVidia GTX 285

Not all rendering operations will max out all RAM and all CPUs (processor cores). Some rendering operations are I/O intensive; some are memory-intensive; some are CPU-intensive. If, for example, I/O is the bottleneck, then you won't see either CPU or RAM usage maxed.
Also, the goal isn't to see that 100% of the CPU and 100% of of RAM is being used. The goal is faster rendering (and other operations). Sometimes greatest performance is achieved when there's "headroom" left over for other activity. See this page.
Are you using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing? That is one feature that really benefits from having a lot of RAM. The 6GB of RAM that you have in your system is not enough to make effective use of that feature. See this page.
Here's a page that collects information about how to optimize for performance.
