Max Volume?

I get on the bus alot to and from school and also play drums to music on my ipod. I've noticed that the volume level on the iPod is higher than that on the nano, even the old iPod mini's volume level is higher than the new nano's. On the bus, at full volume is pretty hard to enjoy the music loud enough to drown out the little kids on the bus. And while drumming I can't hear a thing with my headphones on, which I could with my old 30gig iPod video. Even with the volume limit set to max it's still pretty quiet. I was hoping the volume would increase as it's a new model but they'vej ust made it quieter. Is it really that hard to allow it to play louder? all the other MP3 players can go much louder.

The max volume on a nano is fairly loud,(when its the only sound) in your case its not loud enough to drown out your surroundings. although this volume is not as loud as your old ipod (and you have made the above fixes) it can damage your hearing permanently and if your picky about the quality of your music (like me) the quality goes down as the volume peaks. I would highly recomend buying sound isolating headphones, you can get cheap ones for about $10-20 which basically reduce background noise. personally i own a pair of the Shure headphones, these are amazing at reducing noise, i can listen to my ipod at 10% volume on the street or in the halls at school and not be bothered by other people. so as a result im listening to my music at a lower volume and while hearing it better. i would highly reccomend any of the Shure headphones or any sound isolating ear bud. i read a review of the Shure ec2's (cheapest model) done by an airport and the listener was not bothered by the jets taking off.
greatest in ear headphones i've ever used, i walk around the halls at school at 50% volume and i cant hear anyone! kinda weird when you just see their lips moving. and for your drumming, likely you will be able to hear your drums at the same time as they will likely still make some sound (due to close proximity) and you will feel the vibrations through your arms which in a sense is like hearing it. for example when i walk i can faintly hear my footsteps but could not hear the foot steps of someone pounding on the floor besides me.
so anyways to get to the point, try some of these sound isolating headphones out, even if its just a cheap model (10-20$) or the shure ones which i've heard professional musicians use in concerts so they can hear themselves... now thats powerful.

My phone will not ring or vibrate despite ringer up to max volume & vibrate turned on.  Message tone does sound though when message comes in.  I know the sounds work as I have tested them, they just don't work with incoming calls????

toggle ringer switch right above the volume up button

  • Why is the max volume so low on my ipod 6th gen

why is the max volume so low on my ipod 6th gen

Well, my volume control certainly does influence the start up chime and I cannot see why yours shouldn't.   Use keyboard buttons F11 and F12 to adjust your sound level last thing at night and if your machine auto starts in the morning it will not wake the household.
True, if volume control is turned down to a lower level, you would have to adjust it for other sound output that you do want later, iTunes and videos on browsers etc, but it requires little effort.

  • How to use the max volume option

Well my ipod was pretty loud before and now i have dicked with that setting and sitting in my room with just a tv on i have it almost all the way up. What should the max volume be set at or what should i do to get that volume back?

If your talking about volume limit, you just go to settings and reset it. If you set a password you forgot, the only way to unluck it is to restore the ipod. That will make it loose all the data on it.

  • Presonus FirePod MAX volume problem

Hey Gang, I got a FirePod not too long ago. Since hookup, EVERYTIME I restart my machine the volume levels are at MAX. Unless I remember to physically turn the volume down I will get blasted. I guess the 'hardware' has to 'reconnect' to the input??. I had a Roland 1x1 box before (used it on OS 9 for years and OS X for 1.5 years) and NEVER had this problem. The Roland box has drivers- the FirePod is driverless. Also, sometimes after adjusting the volume down when I open another app, iTunes or whatever, it resets to MAX volume and I must turn it down again. This annoying to the nth degree...
2 questions: I have tried 10.4.5, .7, .8 and it has no effect. None of the Presonus software works with Mac (should've been my first clue) so I can't change anything. Has anyone seen this issue before??
Also, I think I would like to go with MOTU. Ultralite or 8Pre is what I'm looking at. I prefer the 8Pre. Has anybody had any experience like this with MOTU boxes??
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Dave

That is because you have set the Firepod to be the DEFAULT sound output for your SYSTEM sounds(ike the boot honk.
If you had waited...then you could have changed it to be the internal speakers for the system sounds, instead of the Firepod.
    Oh well...

  • I have Sennheiser MM400 headphones...and even at MAX volume, they are still pretty quiet.  I've checked the volume limits, and there are none...is there a way to get more volume through them?

I've tried everything...they work really well, sound is fabulous, but I can't really get them to pump out the volume...its like there is a built-in max volume governor in the iPad/headphone link.  Has anyone ELSE experienced this?

Is there a difference between maximum Bluetooth volume, and max volume when connected via the 3.5mm plug and wire?

Have you tried pushing the volume buttons near the top of the keyboard to adjust volume?
Also check your device manager to make sure there are no issues with your sound driver.

  • How do i change  ringtone volume to ring with low volume first and then gradually increase to the max volume ?

how do i change  ringtone volume to ring with low volume first and then gradually increase to the max volume ? this feature was available before but is  still available now ? this is for IOS8 running on Iphone 5c.

I've never been aware of a function like this in the past. You could create a personal ringtone that would last 30 seconds or less and set the volume on that ringtone to do that with an audio editor, such as Audacity.

  • Ipod stuck on max volume

I have an Ipod Classic (80gb) and have developed a problem with the volume.
I cannot turn my volume down at all. When I try the Ipod simply turns itself back up straight away.
The only way I can turn the max volume down is with the volume limit. However the volume stays stuck at that limit and cannot be turned down.
    Can anyone help?

    Hey there,
Have you by chance tried restting the iPod? To do this, toggle the hold switch on and then off, and hold the Menu and Center buttons until you see the Apple logo appear. If that doesn't fix the problem, it may be a good idea to try and restore your iPod with iTunes.
Keep in mind that by doing this, you are erasing all the music and files from the iPod and setting it back to its original default settings. So make sure you have everything backed up. Instructions on how to restore your iPod can be found in the Apple document below. Hope this helps.

  • Arena Headset - Goes to max volume on Windows 7 x64

I recently purchased an Arena USB headset for my new Core i5 rig. The install went smooth, however I noticed that while listening to iTunes or playing games the volume for the headset would got to max vol. on its own. Using the windows volume controls, or buttons on the headset control temporariily lower volume. As soon as you stop trying to lower the volume, it shoots back up to max.
I installed the new "beta" drivers off creative, but these sounded horrible.
    My current drivers are
    Driver Provider: Creative
    Driver date: 7/20/2009
    Driver version: 1.0.18.0
I installed the Arena set on my Windows 7 x32 laptop and it works great, no problems with volume control.
I've removed and reinstalled the drivers 3x already, and yes, they are the x64 versions. Please help. I'm thinking the x64 drivers do not function correctly.

Nobody out there has this problem? Tech support didn't help. I got the "install the updated drivers" advice. Yup, I've done that, several times. My only fix has been to leave it at max volume and turn down the volume in each of my games. Nice; I'm contemplating getting rid of these. It's a shame because they sound really good and are comfortable.
Oh, when I try to manually update the driver to the path where the x64 driver are installed, windows just says the best drivers are already installed.

  • T61 has a very low max volume

I'm running a T61 with Win XP SP3 and the max volume with all the sliders is very soft.  Any way to improve this besides external speakers or using headphones?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Found another way around this problem.  There are aftermarket software packages out there that allow you to boost the "gain" levels of your sound output.  I got one as a snapin to Windows Media Player and now I can boost the volume levels to a more acceptable level.  You trade some sound clarity for the increased volume but the quality on the stock speakers was never great anyways.  I'll find the package and post a link to the freeware download page.

  • Can't Reset Max Volume on iPhone 4s

I recently set the Volume limit on my iPhone 4s with iOS 6 by doing the following:
Settings > Music > Volume Limit
I set the volume and locked it using a password
Now I want to change the Max Volume. When I go back to the same location:
Settings > Music > Volume Limit
    I see the following:
The "Max Volume" is greyed out, and there is no option to unlock it. How am I supposed to change the "Max Volume"? Please help!

For the iPhone 4S, go to settings..general...restrictions....if it says on, tap it and enter your 4 digit passcode which will take you to the apps and options. Scroll down to allow changes on volume limit, tap it and then tap allow. Then go back to settings..music..volume limit ( you will notice it is off) tap off and you will be able to make adjustments to set the volume.

  • Is anyone else's 5c bluetooth max volume significantly lower than their older model?

I just upgraded from a 4 to a 5c. In my car, I have a samsung HS3000 bluetooth adapter that I use to connect to my car. I now have to turn my car's volume all the way up at highway speeds. Before, the most I'd have to turn it up was about 60% of the max. Anybody else noticing this?

My daughter just told me she is also having problems with the max volume output via Bluetooth speakers with her 5C. This is the first post I've seen with a similar problem. At first she thought her speakers were broken but I was able to produce twice the volume on her speakers with my 4S. I hope Apple reads this and can provide a fix.
