MaxDB cannot start: Missing root pointer in memory mapping
Hello,
I cannot start (or change to any other state) my MaxDB. I have already tried to remove directory rtedump_dir as per SAP Note 1283278, but this did not help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Warm greetings

Hi,
1. Please update with output of the following commands:
ps u2013efe | grep dbmsrv
ls u2013l /var/lib/sdb/dbm/ipc
ipcs -m | wc u2013l
sysctl -a | grep kernel.shmmni
dbmcli inst_enum
dbmcli db_enum u2013s
2. Please post the dbmsrv*.err located in /sapdb/data/wrk
3. Check first<!> that you have not active dbmrfc/dbmsrv processes,
Stop the x_server .
- kill all these processes manually, if they where not release after
Closing DBMGUI, dbmcli sessions, stoping the application server.
- try to check/remove the shared memory
/sapdb/MAXDB1/db/pgm/dbmshm CHECK /var/lib/sdb/dbm/ipc MAXDB1
/sapdb/MAXDB1/db/pgm/dbmshm DELETE /var/lib/sdb/dbm/ipc MAXDB1
- Check in /var/lib/sdb/dbm/ipc if you have files MAXDB1.dbm.shi and MAXDB1.dbm.shm
< rename both files to MAXDB1.dbm.shi.old and MAXDB1.dbm.shm.old>
- Try to connect to the database using dbmcli tool & post results.
Hope above steps are helpful.

[SOLVED] Cannot start Virtual Network: "out of memory"
I am attempting to use KVM, Qemu and libvirt to run Windows VM's to test websites in IE. I have gotten everything to work fine except guest to host communication, which obviously is crucial for testing the websites.
Currently i am using macvtap to setup networking, which works beautifully for everything except host to guest networking. The easiest way seems to be to use isolated virtual networks. However, i cannot start any virtual networks. I have tried from inside virtual manager and inside virsh command prompt. I always get "out of memory". I have googled the error and nobody seems to have this problem.
One note, I do NOT have a swap drive. Is this needed for virtual networks?
EDIT:
I have now tried exactly the same on another, identical computer but with swap drive (16gb) and it did not work there either. Both computers have 8gb ram. Seems to be loads free in tops.

I have the same issue on my install. I got so desperate that I actually wiped my laptop and reinstalled everything, same problem. Out of memory error when trying to create the default network. 16GB of RAM, with 96% of it free when I attempted. -
Satellite Pro A60: Windows XP cannot start missing or corrupt driver isapnp.sys
I have had a Satellite Pro A60 for about 3 years without problems.
Last week the Toshiba in Touch screen developed bleeding vertical lines and I got error message 'Windows XP cannot start because of missing or corrupt driver isapnp.sys'. I have tried using recovery disk but this loads OK but then fails to make any difference. Hard disk appears to work OK as slave to another computer.
Any suggestions wil be much appreciated!

Cannot Start a new project with a mapped network drive
When I try to start a new project with Encore and save the file to our network cluster (An Isilon Server), I get a file not found error message. When I try to do this to a local drive, it works just fine. None of the other Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) have this problem with this network drive.
Greg GlaserYes, it worked on the local drive, and also to a Windows Networked Server that was not the Isilon. Even after creating the project and moving it to the Isilon, it was generating error messages after a few minutes of use. The Isilon is using a BSD variant of Linux and Samba. The really strange part is the all other Adobe products from the Production Suite work with this server without any problems at all.

I am trying to install the newest version of Itunes and each time I repeatedly get the message "Program cannot start MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer Try reinstalling to fix this problem". I have tried reinstalling several times and I get the same message . Any ideas? I am most appreciative. I am using Windows 7.
Hi 49balf,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend removing and reinstalling iTunes using these steps:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
You can find the article with these steps and more information here:

i cannot start Firefox with message "YOUR FIREFOX PROFILE CANNOT BE LOADED. IT MAY BE MISSING OR INACCESSIBLE"
This is usually caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file and the profile marked as Default=1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.
*Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\<br>C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
*Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
*Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
You can use one of these to make Firefox create a new default profile or reuse an existing profile:
*Delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
*Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile<br />Use "Choose Folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile

My Photoshop Elements does not start any more. It gives response "Photoshop elements cannot start or continue because of missing file(s). Please reinstall." How do I get the installing file again (I bought it from Adobe via internet the first time december 2013?)
Did you download the Basic/Free version?
I also thought the Trial period was as long as you needed!?
What is your Warranty and Return Policy?
You get to use VueScan for as long as you want before you buy it, so we recommend you test it before you buy it to make sure it meets your needs.
All sales are final and there are no refunds.
Isn't this a bit harsh? Naah I actually prefer to solve problems, and if I offer refunds, people give up too easily. If I can't solve your problem after you send a few Problem Reports (see above), I'm happy to give a refund.

on my windows XP pro PC i opened windows migration assistant and the first message is: "Cannot start Outlook Express. The application can not initialize the storage. The computer doesn't have enough memory or your disk is full. (0x80007114)"
On my windows PC outlook express is NOT running and as far as i know, NOT installed.
How do I install Outlook Express??
I want to use my new Imac.....Disk storage issues frequently happen if the hard disc is over 85% full. Make sure your trash can is emptied after backing up any files you want to keep elsewhere.

Dear developers,
Greetings!!
As, I have selected command processor and console window from the catalog item that is necessary to run the command prompt on the WinCE platform. But, when I run the command prompt I got the following error :
CMD Error
CMD cannot start. Low on memory or too many console window open. Please close the some console application and try again.
But, I only got this error when I try to open the console window second time. First time when I click, nothing appears on the screen and I try to open in second time and then I got the above error.
Any one knows the reason for the occurrence of this error???Hi Partap,
Try changing the console output to '0' instead of COM port in registry as below.
HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Console\OutputTo to 0
Let me know the result.

Urgent: cannot start the shadow instance at phase STARTSAP_TRANS
We are upgrading to NW2004s (ABAP only) from 640.
<u><b>How to re-start the shadow instance?</b></u>
At this point, <b>anyway we cannot start the shadow instance.</b>
At SAPMMC, the disp+work
1) first show "running but the dialog queue standstill"
2) then show" running but not connected to the message server"
3) then the disp+work dies.
Above happens in 1 minute after re-start.

The PREPARE module Import will be started now.
During this module programs, structures, and table entries
required by PREPARE are imported (the socalled "tool import").
Note: This can cause a loss of performance in R/3
In rare cases, a concurrent transport via the transport directory
may disturb the tool import. Please avoid any concurrent import
during this PREPARE module.

DVD and CD-RW Drives "cannot start"
Upon upgrading to the new 7.5 iTunes, BOTH of my drives came up with an exclamation point. Clicking properties of each revealed the message "Device cannot start. (Code 10)
I had to call DELL to fix it and they went to the registry and deleted some settings. Then they uninstalled the drives and had me reboot.
This worked! But iTunes will not be able to burn CD's or DVD's. I can still use it for buying, listening, etc.
So...I thought I'd repair the iTunes installation. It did it AGAIN! So I had DELL fix it again.
I realized that with iTunes version 7.5, that I will not be able to use it until they (APPLE) come out with an update.
So until then, everytime I want to use iTunes, I get this message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and buring CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning softward. Please reinstall iTunes."
I won't be doing that until they fix it. Until then, I will use Windows Media Player for that.
I would love to have been able to tell this to someone at Apple, but they won't let you email them (and I didn't see a phone number either). This appears to be my only option.
Customer Service? This fix will only get your cd and dvd drive working again. It will not get iTunes to work properly (you will still be able to buy music from them and play it, you just won't be able to burn cd's or dvd'd using iTunes. I suggest Windows Media Player.
Locate the CD/ DVD drive in the list and Remove Drive from Device manager. (Single right click and you get option to remove the drive in the list) Then Close Device Manager
Click the Start button, click Run
In the Open box, type Regedit, and then click OK.
Click the plus sign next to HKEYLOCALMACHINE.
Click the plus sign next to SYSTEM.
Click the plus sign next to Current Control Set.
Click the plus sign next to Control.
Click the plus sign next to Class.
Click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
on the right hand side of the window, click Upper Filters.
Click Edit on the menu bar.
Click Delete, and then click OK.
On the right-hand side of the window, click Lower Filters.
Click Edit on the menu bar.
Click Delete, and then click OK.
Click File, and then click Exit.
Do not restart the system.
Look for a drive letter in My Computer.
*Double-click My Computer.
* Check if the Drive is listed there.
Click on action. Choose the option scan for new hardware.
This, however, will not get iTunes to work properly, it will only get your cd and dvd drive functioning again. -

I can't seem to pin point exactly where the starting went wrong... the directory /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope/product/enterprisemanager/configuration/org.eclipse.osg has permissions drwxr-xr-x 4 root system 4096 Apr 14 12:22 org.eclipse.osgi . Unfortunately this company doesn't provide us with root access unless approved to do so. Please assist. Your help and insight will be very much appriciated.
Btw the OS is AIX 5.3Hi guys,
It was really due to root access problems... we had another script that ran the startup with root that another colleague found.
Thanks Guys for the support

Cannot Start SI4 After New License
I have a test drive version of NW 4 running on Suse 9.2 Linux and db2. It ran fine for 3 months. Yesterday I installed a new license because the old one expired. I installed it as root while the db was running.
This morning, I cannot start sap, because the database won't start.
The following is the output of R3trans. Can anyone give me any suggestions on things to try to resolve it?

I didn't have any luck. I did find an indication on an IBM website that the error message related to the fact that the db2 license had expired. There is a command called "db2licm" which you can run to update the db2 license, but I couldn't find a license file.
I wonder if IBM imposes it's own license expiration separate from SAP's, and that IBM require a re-install. So, I gave up and just re-installed it. Oh well, re-installing is good practice.
Sorry I couldn't help you.

I have similar problem, but mine doesn't sound like a loose screw, more like the battery or vibration component is loose. When I shake the phone left to right abit I can feel that it's around the top area. Very annoying, besides that it works fine.
