  • Oracle forms 11g running forms on internet explorer error

Hi , this is abhishek I am new to oracle forms 11g . My question is that when I run the forms 11g on internet explorer it shows an error . The error is too many tries.
first I like to clarify that before running the forms i start the weblogic server ,along with admin server for weblogic and opmn managed components, i give the user name and password to start the weblogic server, everything starts smoothly . even I have jre 1_6_29 installed to start the servlet . Main problem starts when the java runs the internet explorer browser then a box appears asking for user name and password and database connect string , then after putting the username and password it again asks for the username and password. It happens three times and after that an error appears in a dialog box which shows too many tries . I also checked the net configuration asistant with the local net service name configuration there it shows the service name which is orcl.Home and then TCP --->Host name is localhost with 1521 as standard port number --> yes perform the test and the result is written connecting test successful . what is wrong with the instance , the http listener is working perfectly then why this error is coming, is there something to do with the browser , but the browser is supporting java very well .. please help

I have found the file but it does not have any path except forms_path,oracle_home,webutil_config,etcCurious, my default.env had the following default TNS_ADMIN entry:
    # TNS Entry to locate the database
TNS_ADMIN=D:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\configI modified this entry to point to the location where my tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files are located. I use a generic location and share them accross installed Oracle products rather than maintain seperate copies of these files in each Oracle Home. For example, I commented out the original entry and added a new one.
    #TNS_ADMIN=D:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config

If the browser is crashing, the problem is likely related to a JRE conflict. If you have any Sun JRE/JPI installed and running, then try to run a form with Oracle Jinitiator, the browser will crash. We have also seen this problem when Jinit does not correctly install for one reason or another. Knowing this information would be helpful in us assisting:
    - what operating system and version?
    - which JRE/Jinitiator are you attempting to use?
    - is the Sun JRE/JPI installed on this machine?
    - did you install Dev Suite in the same home with the Database?
    Things to be aware of:
Reference to "Home" is the same as "directory". You cannot install the Database in the same Home (directory) as Developer Suite. Each must reside in their own parent directory.
Internet Explorer 7 is NOT supported for use with Forms 10.1.2.0.2. Refer to the following for more details:http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gR2/clientsod_forms10gR2.html
    Recommendations:
    1. Close ALL open browsers
    2. Uninstall Jinitiator and any Sun JRE (if installed)
    3. Reboot
    4. With ALL browsers closed, manually install the Jinitiator version configured in your formsweb.cfg
    5. Retest.

    Steve,
Oracle Jinitiator is not supported for use on Vista or any newer OS and it likely never will be. It is not expected to work correctly for numerous reasons and attempting to hack its installation to make it work is not at all recommended. I say this because I know it can be done and has by some.
As for using the Sun JRE, I would recommend the following regardless of the Windows version:
    1. With ALL browsers closed, uninstall any Jinitiator version that is no longer being used (uninstall ALL Jinit versions if installed on Vista or newer).
    2. With ALL browsers closed, uninstall ALL unneeded Sun JRE and JDK. I would not recommed versions older than 1.5.0_06 and 1.6.0_04 for Vista or newer OSs. Even these versions should be avoided and replaced with newer versions, although they should work in most cases.
    3. Reboot
    4. Do NOT attempt to install Oracle Jinit or Sun JRE 1.3.1.x on Vista. For Vista, I would recommend installing the latest version of 1.6. This assumes you are using Forms 10.1.2.3
    5. Run your form using the Sun JPi/JRE. This can be done with the example config we provide (config=jpi) or you can change the default section in formsweb.cfg
For more information about Vista and the Sun JRE (v6) refer to the following:
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/webnotes/#windowsvista
For more information about the future of Forms and the client side options refer to the Forms Client Statement of Directions and Metalink Note 555720.1
Remember that in almost all cases, a browser that crashes upon starting a Java Applet is usually caused by a JRE conflict. Sometimes you may not realize that another JRE is in use. This often occurs when, for example, browser add-ons have been installed. One of the most common causes of IE crashes is caused by add-on toolbars like Google, MSN, and Yahoo. In many of these cases, the problem can be resolved by either uninstalling the offending add-on or following the steps I mentioned above. There are of course, other reasons for crashing browsers, but this is the most common when it comes to Applets.

  • How i can open the form in Internet Explorer

    Dears.
I am using Developer 6i and Oracle8. I want to learn how i can execute my form in IE. Please teach me about that how i can be able to execute my form in IE.
    waiting for reply
    Zaheer

Forms 6i can be web deployed, if you noticed there's a red button under the run button in forms builder, which says "Run form in web" this will open your form in a browser.
But if you want to run production application in a browser then you need to have OAS (Oracle Application Server)
As for 9i and above they can only be run in web, you either need Application Server with the compatible version or OC4J for testing.

  • Adobe forms and Internet explorer failure.

    Hello Experts.
When i'm working on Adobe forms(layout only) with IE (6 or 7), every few minutes the browser crashes (With the usual Microsoft message)
    What can be the causes?
    Thank you.
    Chaya.

    Hi,
The problem seems to be with your Internet Explorer. Check your application on any other machine. If it runs successfully there then reinstall your IE.

  • Forms Central - Internet Explorer Recommended Browser Settings

I created a form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro, added it to Forms Central and then linked it to our company website for members to complete and then click submit.  I have a member that said her submit button will not work, she clicks it and nothing happens.  My question: What is the recommended browser settings for Internet Explorer to be able to submit the form.

Most of the major browsers have some sort of PDF preview built into them. These preview capabililties don't have enough functionality to allow filling in of PDF Forms. Therefore regardless of browser or platform (Mac) you likely need to install our Acrobat Reader plugin. Additionally in some cases you will need to tell the browser that you want to use our (Adobe Reader) plugin when displaying PDF. Each browser is a little different, but the concept is the same.

  • Thick line in questionbox when opening the form in internet explore

When I open my form in firefox, everything appears correctly but when I open it in internet explore there are some thick lines in 2 questionboxes. How can i change this? I don´t see these lines when I create my form.

To add a screenshot to the forum you actually need to login to the forum from your browser and do this directly in on the forum site. Click here http://forums.adobe.com/message/5625059 to go to this post (i.e you can't just reply from your email client with an image).
I opened your form in IE and I don't see the thick lines that you are talking about. Can you try to add a screenshot again (from the forum website this time). Also what version of Internet Explorer are you using?

  • Want to open the forms in internet explorer

    Hi Dears.
I am using Developer 6i and i have developed some forms. My desire is that all the operational forms should be opened in internet explorer. Can any body help me in that matter.
    Thnx

Well Tony, so why dun we go for Rolls-Royce ,Interner
explorer provides all services desired by u. Actually, it doesn't.
1 - Does it have an ad-block option? No.
2 - Can it block Java scripts on session level? Never.
3 - Is it Fast?? If you have T1 connection maybe.
3 - Can I dynamically prevent softwares from being installed on my machine by IE? Not dynamically no
4 - Can I set exception for sites to install cookies dynamically? Not dynamically no.
5 - Is it a tab browser? No, not before IE7
6 - Can you block Flash in IE?
7 - You want me to continue?? :-)
Well Firefox does have all this and much more, Using Firefox I don't see advertisements, I only allow the Java scripts I want to be executed and it is dynamic and by session, it's much faster and secure. And Firefox has Tab-Browsing.
I neither support Microsoft but the fact is that IE
leads the market and other browser try to copies the
feature which first introduce by Microsoft.Just because you see it first in IE doesn't mean that they came up with the idea and the feature first.
Actually Microsoft copies every single feature others come up with. The whole IE code is based on Netscape.
Considering the smallest example, "Tab-Browsing", Firefox had the "Tab-Browsing" option for more than 8 years now, Microsoft mimicked that feature in IE7 (and it crashes).
The much advertised Vista... most of its features Mac OS had it years ago.
    Shall we go on?... :-)
