Maximizing videos in secondary monitor makes cursor disappear in main Max OSX

What the label on the can says. I have a dual monitor setup on my Mac, and when I maximize the video in my secondary monitor I can't see my cursor in the main monitor. If I click into the maximized video the cursor reappears, but once I move the cursor back into the main monitor I lose sight of the cursor again. This is very annoying, as I often watch videos in my secondary monitor and need to continue working in the main monitor.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

I can't get my cursor to completely leave the screen, so when I'm watching videos on some services the video control menu stays at the bottom of the screen. How do I make it disappear so I don't have to see the progress bar and stop/start buttons?

When I watch certain video services like amazon or Netflix and enter full screen, when I move the cursor a video menu pops up on the bottom of the screen and won't disappear until the cursor goes offscreen. But my cursor won't go fully off screen. Just the tip remains visible so the video menu doesn't leave.

What happens if you simply click the trackpad in the movie area before the cursor disappears? Does that cause the video menu to disappear?

I have a dual monitor set-up, with sharing. I am on a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5
I am viewing my Firefox window on my secondary monitor. (NOT Primary) When I click any video to full-screen it loads the full-screen on my primary monitor. When I click the window to full-screen (on my secondary monitor) it fills the primary monitor.
Before I upgraded, this morning, I could click the full-screen button and my video would appear on the secondary monitor. (The same monitor.) Before this morning, I could re-size the browser window to full-size and view it in my secondary monitor. (The same monitor!)
So, explain to me, why the change? Why is it when I click on a video to enter full-screen, or want to re-size a window to full-screen on my secondary monitor, it views on my primary monitor. Does this make any sense?
Why? Why would somebody want to browse on one monitor, want to watch something fullscreen, click a button and then watch it on another monitor? I just don't get it. Or why would someone be browsing in a window on one monitor, click full-screen, and want to browse in the same window on another monitor?
I am sitting here facing my secondary monitor (which I use as my art-board) and my primary monitor sits to my left. I mainly work from my secondary monitor, so when I am drawing, painting and designing my cursor doesn't 'run into' my dock features, calendar, ext. When browsing in Firefox my window is where it should be, in-front of me. So why would I want to watch a video or browse the web on my left? Why? Why would any developer or designer do this! Especially considering the second, non viewing screen is black! Which means my secondary monitor (in-front of me) is black.
When I click, view full-screen, whether video or resizing windows, whether it is my primary or secondary monitor, don't you think the screen should appear full-screen in the monitor I am using?! Right?! I mean somehow you calculated a way for Firefox to recognize which monitor to reopen in. So what's up? I didn't have this problem last week? So tell me . . . why can't I open a video in full-screen on my secondary monitor like I have been doing for years? Why am I even having to write a complaint about something I used to be able to do. AND NOW I CAN'T.
I just checked Safari. Wow. Look at that! When I want to view a video in full-screen in the appropriate monitor I can! Wow! I can actually click on my secondary monitor and it's recognizes I want to watch the video on the same monitor.
I used to be able to do this in Firefox. I guess it is time to give up on Firefox. And choose a company who understands user-perspective. Or at-least understands what an upgrade is.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Cursor disappears when a video using Flash is in Safari

Hello,
My cursor disappears whenever I'm on a web page (using Safari) that uses Flash for video. It is 100% repeatable on any Flash/video website. On my other machine (an iMac running Snow Leopard) this does not happen.

Let the page load so that the "introductory" video can play. While it's playing, move your cursor anywhere on top of the video that's playing and watch it disappear. It's hard to find it again.

(I'm using a MacBook Pro. Operating system is 10.7.1 Lion. All software updates are complete. The battery is charged, the computer is turned on, and it is plugged into electricity. I did a search of this forum and found one other question regarding this same topic, but nobody had answered it.)

The behaviour I get is that if the cursor is left on top of the video, it disappears after a second or two. As soon as I move the mouse or trackpad, it reappears. Which is exactly what I would want to happen. Perhaps when you are "waking up" the cursor you are doing so with a large random movement of the trackpad? It only takes the slightest movement to make it reappear more or less where you left it.
There is, of course, always the option of parking the cursor somewhere else on the screen where you will not lose it.

Jumping mouse cursor movement with secondary monitor

Mouse cursor movement is interrrupted or jumps as soon as a secondary monitor is connected to my iMac. Either mouse movement direction is affected. Typically cursor movement stops for about a second while moving mouse further. Then suddenly cusor jumps either forward or backward.
As soon as secondary monitor is dicsonnected, cursor movement is perfeclty in synch with actual mouse movement.
I would very much appreciate any hints to solve this issue.

MSI GF4 Ti4200 Video-in/capture on secondary monitor.???

Hi,
I have an MSI Ti4200-VTD8X (dual head, Video I/O). I am running it in dual monitor setup. When i try to view the video input on the secondary monitor i get the message:
"due to limitations of your computer's display device, this video can only play back on one of your monitors. please move the video window completely onto that monitor"
Does anyone know if this is a driver problem? or really it is a limitation with the card?. though i do not know why would the card be able to view the video capture window on one monitor but not the other?.

Yes, I am using NVidia's nView as well as their WDM drivers. my dual monitor support seems to work fine.
Only if i want to see video input feed using something like win_DVR or Win_VCR or even Win_Producer that i get this message if the software/input winodow was on the secondary monitor.
Any help would be appriciated :D

Front Panel bounds on secondary monitor

Hello!
I would like to display some elements of the front panel on the primary and others on a secondary monitor. So I decided to make a subvi from the elements I wanted to show on the secondary display.
It nearly works, but I would like to have fullscreen on both of the monitors. Unfortunately if I change front panel bounds to be written in the attached subvi, it shows up on the primary monitor. If I leave front panel bounds to be read it works with the secondary monitor.
Could you give me some advices how to solve the problem?

Dear VampireEmpire,
One way you can do it is to create 2 SubVIs (each with the specific indicators etc, then set the Window Appearence of those VIs Custom, and check "Show Front panel when called"
If you are in a VI, press Ctrl+I, or right click on the icon of the VI on the front panels upper right corner, get VI Properties and navigate to Window Appearence.
In each of these VIs use the Invoke Node :
VI Server Reference (This VI), --> Invoke Node --> Front Panel --> Run-Time Position --> Maximized, and wire monitor number 1 to the primary and 2 for the secondary. Use for example a while loop, and if you want to terminate only one of the VIs at Run-Time, remember to Close the Front Panel (Invoke Node), and the reference.
Then create a 3rd, VI, call it a wrapper, and insert the two VIs to be called. When you run this wrapper, you programatically call the other two VIs front panels.
I have created a little example how to do it. Please find the attachment and tell me your experiences.
A more sophisticated way to do it would be to programatically open the references from the main.vi, and Open --> Run Time.maximize in a while loop --> Close the front panel in the caller.

Switch secondary monitor

i got a new (to me) ati radeon 9800 graphics video card to speed up my G5 dual 2GHz running 10.4.11. so my main 20" apple display would only fit into the second connector, because the first connector was an ADC connector. so i bought a used 17" apply display with an ADC connector and it works fine. but only as my primary monitor and i want to use it as a secondary monitor. how do i swith the order of which monitor is primary. i am trying to find it in the ati docs, or the apple preferences and i don't see how anywhere

thanks i did try both things. when i used the system preferences to rearrange the monitors, all it did was make it necessary for me to move the mouse to the left side to access the monitor on the right.
You were moving the entire display. Just drag the menu bar at the top of the picture of the display.
My old monitor (a 14" pc monitor) was not a dvi monitor, so the adapters, were not to be found,
ADC to VGA adapters have become scare (and expensive), but you can use the ADCT to DVI adapter for your DVI display, then use a DVI to VGA adapter on the computer's DVI port for the VGA display.

Secondary monitor displays with colorshift

secondary monitor displays with colorshift in LR4.1rc2. this is on windows 7/64.
Both my monitors i have are calibrated with spyder3, one is hardwarecalibrated eizo CG243, the other a HP2475 calibrated with spyder4 elite software.
Colorshift shows same characteristics when i switch LR app window with secondary window.
IT looks as if sRGB profile is applied to the secondary preview, because of the strong/overly saturated colors.
It seems to me a softwarebug, which makes secondary display inusable.
How is color management supposed to work in LR4?

It works fine with me (LR4.1 RC2, but previously used RC1, LR4.0, LR3.6... all worked the same).
I have a wide-gamut HP LP2475w (approx Adobe RGB gamut) and a Samsung193P (approx sRGB). Both calibrated/profiled with Color Munki Display, but I've previously used Eye One and Spyder units. After calibration/profiling, LR main and secondary display look the same in both Loupe and Develop view, and no matter which is LR's primary display. (Obviously, colours outside sRGB gamut don't look the same!)
I've just checked, and it still seems to be the case on my set up (W7 64-bit).
I can't think what the problem might be. I guess you've checked in Control Panel / Color Management that the correct profiles are assigned to each monitor. And I guess that you've got a video card with dual LUTs that allows separate calibration (mind you, I've never come across any cards that don't have separate LUTs, but apparently there are some).
PS - Web view might be different, as I think LR uses IE for rendering in web view only, and IE doesn't colour-manage properly.

Liquify Cursor disappears when Saving and Loading Mesh (CC 2014.2.2)

Hello.
I'm using Photoshop CC 2014.2.2 for Mac on a perfectly built hackintosh (Yosemite, i7-4770K, GTX770, Intuos5 L, 32Gb RAM, 2 monitors).
The arrow cursor disappears randomly when dragged over the Save Mesh or Load Mesh dialogues. It's not that the arrow cursor disappears completely. Actually, instead of switching from liquify cursor to arrow cursor as it should, it stays a circle and I can see it behind the save/load mesh window. In order to make the arrow appear in front of the save/load mesh, I have to move it out of it, and carefully move it back in. If I drag the save/load mesh window to an area of the screen clear of the liquify filter window or to my second screen, the problem goes away.
Also, when liquifying, the cursor is a little laggy, like at a low frame rate and behind my pen. I can liquify with no problem, but I can't remember if this is the way the liquify cursor behaves now that the it is GPU accelerated.
All these problems go away if I disable "use graphics processor", but that's a no go for me. I have tried both OS X Default Graphic Driver and NVIDIA Web Driver, but it makes no difference.

I've noticed it happens particularly when the arrow touches any of the text input fields, among other ways I haven't identified yet. The save mesh and load mesh are the only dialogs across Photoshop on which this problem happens.
Notice that the blue cursor drawn by me is where the cursor should be, and note that the liquify cursor can be seen behind the open mesh dialogue. In this case I have to draw the cursor outside of the open window, and drag it back in making sure I don't touch the search field.

2 monitors; Firefox always opens in secondary monitor never main monitor. What is wrong?

I have 2 monitors with my desktop. No matter what I do, I cannot get Firefox to open on my main (No. 1) monitor. It always defaults to Monitor No. 2. This is frustrating particularly when I log in remotely and am working at the remote site with just one monitor, I cannot use Firefox because when I open it it goes to the secondary monitor and I can't retrieve it to move it to No. 1.

If Firefox is maximized then make the window smaller and drag that window over to the correct monitor and close Firefox to save that setting.<br />
After restarting you can maximize again.

Cursor disappears when writing text?

I have a frustrating problem in CS3 that when writing a block of text, either with text tool or area text tool, that the cursor disappears. I need to see its new position after using the space bar or tab: ready to input the next piece of text.
It seems to be flashing some of the time if I click into the middle of the text block, but disappears where I want to continue it at the bottom of the text block?

This bug is still in Illustrator CS5
And it depends on aplication main window size!
Especialy if you have two monitors, document window is outside the main window and main application window is not maximized.
If you have application window smaller, than document window (in height), then where document height is still bellow application window height,
there you can see cursor. If you are editing text in position which is over the main application height, there is not cursor visible.
So, my solution is:
Resize main application window to the maximum size.
(And maybe you will need restart Illustrator)
(UPDATE: It depends on window width too! )

My Mouse Cursor Disappears coming out of standby and screensaver!!

I have a TX1000z, with a fresh install of Windows Vista Home Premium 64. All drivers are current, including the video, networking, mouse, etc. I am using the xb3000 port replicator with the logitech MX Revolution mouse and a bluetooth wireless keyboard.
My mouse cursor disappears from the screen, sometimes both the laptop and the monitor (a Dell 22"), sometimes just one or the other. I can still use the buttons and see different things highlight, but no mouse cursor. It is not related to Windows Media Center as I have not run that on my laptop yet. I can reboot and everything is fine, but then it will just disappear again and I cannot keep rebooting! I have seen this problem posted all over the web, usually in relation to Windows Media Center and the "solution" is always the same...Disable Pointer Trails and "hide cursor while typing." Neither of these has worked for me. In fact, when I went in to disable trails, they were already disabled. Actually, when I clicked on Enable Pointer Trails, the mouse becomes visible. The mouse is then choppy (even when the trail is very short) and disappears again if I disable pointer trails.

Still an issue. No fix found for me either.
Windows Vista 64 sp3. Latest NVidia Video drivers. External Logitech Trackball Marble Wireless. Trails disabled, Hide while typing Disabled.
Happens when coming out of sleep, screensaver or hibernate. Usually on the primary screen only (dual display). Sometimes on all.

When using any flash website my cursor disappears.

When I open any webpage with any kind of flash website and I click on anything, the cursor disappears. Therefore making me move my cursor off the webpage to get it back on the screen. This makes it impossible to play any games or quickly access certain webpages. Please help!

I only have this issue with certian flash websites. I am able to play games on the games sites I have visited fine, and most flash works fine.
However on Hulu.com, after loading a flash video, I notice that when I scroll down the page to look at comments, the cursor simply disappears. I can find it again when I mouse off the page. It happens consistently on hulu after I have unflashblocked a video. (I use the flashblock addon.)
Just now I went to hulu and the mouse disappeared and froze for 5 seconds when the page loaded. I had created a Guest Account but apart from this I am not able to replicate the terrible behavior with firefox/flash/hulu, but I have not spent much time using it. I don't know if Flash Block has anything to do with this behavior.
