Maximum frequency out on PCMCIA 6024E

Hi all,
I have a short question about the PCMCIA 6024E. What is the maximum frequency that I can generate on the counter out pin?
Thanks for the help!
Charel Marais

The 6024E has a 20 MHz timebase on board. The counters on the 6024 work
with two load registers for the number of timebase ticks the output
should be high or low. The minimum value for both load registers is two
timebase ticks. Thus the maximum counter output frequency is 20 MHz / 4
= 5 MHz.
I hope that helps,

  • Maximum Frequency on PCI-6024E

Hello, I'm just wondering what is the maximum frequency can PCI-6024E hold?
My sensor's range is .016KHz - 16.6665 KHz, if this is too much, can I just use
a divider to cover what is max limit of the card?
    Thanks!

200Ksamples/sec on a single channel, per the specs:
    http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/370719c.pdf
For optimum accuracy, sample at 5-10 times the highest frequency component of the signal if possible (minimum of 2x per Nyquist), that would be 166.6Ks/sec rate max which is still within range of the card.

  • Serious problem with CPU "maximum frequency"

    Hello,
    I have a problem with my W510.
I think that this problem has been around since I purchased it, or at least since a month or so after I purchased it.
When I plug power in or out it almost always affects the CPU's maximum frequency, as can be seen in Windows 7 Resource Monitor, and also in a program called CPU-Z which actually shows the current Core Speed.
When things work properly, the core speed is a little over 3,000 Mhz.
However, this speed changes whenever I plug the power in or out.
It usually changes for the worse when I plug the power IN!
Often, upon plugging it in, the speed drops to around 1,000 Mhz. Then I plug it out - and the speed goes back to 3,000 Mhz. Plug it back in - 2,500 Mhz. Plug out - stays on 2,500 Mhz. Plug in - 1,500 Mhz. Plug out - 2,500 Mhz. Plug in - 3,000 Mhz. Plug out - 3,000 Mhz, etc. Every once in a while it even drops to 300 Mhz.
It seems to be random and arbitrary. Sometimes it takes me 10, 15, even 20 times of plugging the power out and back in to get it to work at 3,000 Mhz.
The machine is new, there is no fan noise, and anyway the changes are directly correlated to plugging and power in and out, and they never occur on their own - so it's definitely not overheating or anything like that.
I also don't think that it's an issue with the power itself, since it happens to me in different places and different countries, and in every place if I try to re-plug the power enough times - it will eventually be resolved (so obviously there is enough power).
Is there anyone else who's experiencing this problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I have found that Throttlestop helps me with my own speedstep problem. The speed moves a lot at light usage due to speedstep, but when i use a cpu benchmark to load the four cores they set to max speed and don't move. You could give it a try.

  • Mic mini to IIyama ProLite E431S: signal frequency out of range

Hi, I've just got a problem with the display (despite everything worked well together for more than a year): the screen is black, with only the following message:
Attention signal frequency out of range
    H: 05.2 KHz V: 05.2 Hz
    Please change signal timing
It suddenly happened yesterday, but everything was OK since I bought it, except some quick shutdown of the display from times to times
I don't know what to do, since I've got only one display so I can't modify the parameters of the mac mini
Thank goodness I also have a laptop to write this message.

Try starting in Safe mode. To do this, hold down the shift key during a restart. Hopefully you will get a working screen back. Then change the display settings to what you had before and restart normally.

  • Frequency out of range although set correctly

Every now & then I get the dreaded frequency out of range box up, although it's set at the correct frequency in system preferences. I have a mac mini 4.1 intel core duo 2.4ghz. although my monitor is a Fujitsu siemens 21" screen. didn't have any trouble till updated to last 2 O/S's. Is there a fix?

Was Keynote configured to "Present on a secondary display", by selecting the checkbox in the Preferences menu? Did you try to play your presentation? Also in the Displays preference did you click Arrange and follow the onscreen instructions? Generally you should see your desktop image (but not your desktop icons) after connecting to the projector. I set my desktop image to the background image I'm using for my presentation. I usually play the first few slides of my presentation to insure everything is working correctly.

  • External Display Problem - Frequency out of range with lid closed

I have read this - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86286 - it should work, but it does not.
I have a black macbook, an apple usb keyboard, a usb mouse and a19" gateway lcd display (max resolution 1440x900). Everything used to work great. Now for some reason no matter what resolution & mhz I set the external display and the macbook to it will not work with the lid closed, I can set bot to the lowest settings (640 x 480) and when I close the lid and wake the mac the message on the external display says "Frequency out of range." I will work fin in either mirror or extended mode with the lid open. Any suggestions? I've tried resetting the pram already and run the disk repair on the start up disk.

I never did figure it out - but the problem has been solved..
I did tried to trash a bunch of preference files - no joy.
I fixed it the old fashioned way - I installed a fresh system (don't waste your time with an archive and install - it just imported the corrupt files). Works fine now..

  • Frequency out of range

I hooked up my MacBook Pro to a high quality Sony Data Projector and the screen showed the message: "Frequency out of range". I tried detect displays, which didn't help. I could not get an image until I clicked on "Mirror Displays" under System Prefs. Then I could see my laptop display on screen and set the resolution and frequency. As soon as I clicked off the "Mirror Displays", the image on screen disappeared again.
I prefer not to use "Mirror Displays", so that people in the audience cannot see my screen. Any ideas on how this can be done and what the problem might be?

  • Why the Maximum Frequency is almost always above 100%

I have got an HP Elitebook 8460p running Windows 7 x64.  It is about 4 years old and recently the fan seems to be working extra hour so I started to investigate what could be wrong. I cleaned up what I could see.
I have been monitoring my PCs behavior thru the "Resource Monitor", so far the only thing I found strange is that the CPU Maximum Frequency indicator is almost always above the 100% mark. CPU Usage behaves fine, I mean it goes up and down according to the what I am doing but not that Frequency which seems to very rarely go under 90% and most of the time is about 108%.
Should I be worried about this and is there anything I could do to improve this, asuming this is wrong ?

    Dear Corobori -
I understand you are concerned that your pc is running at 100%.
You should try running a virus scan.
A good virus program is MalwareBytes. If you don't already have it, there is a freeware version to download.

  • HOW TO SQUEEZE MAXIMUM JUICE OUT OF YOUR E7

Hey everyone, i am a nokia e7 user and have symbian 3 running on it. Yes i didnot update it have been using it for almost 3 months now.
Have explored and tried everything love everything about this phone just the battery issue kinda makes you sad... but if you look around all the smart phone in the market these days of these or higher specs dont have a battery life of more than one and half day. The slim profile and the huge processors.... they dont give much standby time.
I am a very heavy texter ( DONT KNOW IF ITS A TERM ) and constantly on email...call times almost an hour or two throughout the day... I have four email accounts enabled 2 facebook and one twitter on the widgets.
So how to get maximum juice out of your E7
    1. turn off your dual mode in the network connection settings and goto GSM only
    2. Use wifi only or most of the time. Some how it increases your battery life in comparsion to edge or 3G
    3. Try using dark backgrounds on your homescreen preferably black
    4. Turn power saving on in the wifi options
    5. Download an app called battery monitor it will conserve power without putting you on battery saving mode.
    6. Put your ringtone on ring once... and turn viberation off if you have a ringtone enabled profile
Hope this helps you guys ... if you have other tips please do add below... Thanks

  • I can not get the right frequency out of my NI-DAQ 6062E card from Matlab

    Hi.
My name is Johan and I want to generate an analog square waveform with 5.76 kb/s in frequency with my NI DAQCard-6062E from Matlab.
When I run in Matlab the program below, I get the frequency of 5.747 kb/s on the output channel (even thou I have chosen 5.76 kb/s). When I try to change the sample rate, to higher values in Matlab, I get the same frequency until I choose the sample rate to 5.79 kb/s. The output signal is in that case is 5.813 kb/s.
So my problem is that I can't get the exact frequency of 5.76 kb/s.
    How do I solve this.
    Thankful for help.
    Best regards, Johan
    Program in Matlab:
    clear all
openDAQ=daqfind; %Detect any open DAQ channels
for i=1:length(openDAQ), %Close any open DAQ channels
      stop(openDAQ(i));
    end
ao = analogoutput('nidaq',1); %Create an object for analog output
    addchannel(ao, [0 1]);
set(ao, 'SampleRate', 2*5760); %Here the sample rate is specied. 2*, because to get right samplerate
    y=[80,-80] %Sets theoutput values to 80 and -80 (As -1 and 1)
    putdata(ao, [y' y']); %Sends the values to out buffer
    set(ao,'RepeatOutput',inf) %Repeats sending in infinity
set(ao, 'TriggerType', 'Immediate'); %Choose trigger to immediate, because sending values shall occur driect after start command.
    start(ao);
    %stop(ao)

    Hello Johan!
    Bad news I am afraid….
I assume you are using the Data Acquisition Toolbox from the Mathworks and when it comes to support on that interface I have to advice you to contact the Mathworks for assistance. We don't provide any support on their data acquisition interface since we have nothing to do with it.
Sorry for the inconvenience this might cause you.

  • Pulse generation on PC parallel port and its maximum frequency

Can i generate pulse pattern on any one out of 8 lines of IEEE1284 using Labview? if yes what is minimum period and duty cycle?
    Yours sincerely

I doubt you will get up to 2 MBps and whatever you get you will not have any real control about the timing. If you use VISA LabVIEW sends the data to the COMM port driver and that driver outputs it with whatever handshake speed the remote side answers. Also in order to use anything but the old unidirectional printer mode you need to have a device that is intelligent enough to startup in Nibble mode to negotiate the maximum mode it supports. Without any remote device that does the negotiation and handshaking there won't be any EPP, ECP or whatever other bidirectional mode.
In unidirectional mode you can expect a few kBps at most and again the speed will be whatever the CPU is able to hammer through the parallel port. If you want to have any control of the speed you need to program the parallel port directly on register level. However that will maxout at 1 or 2 kBps at most and you should not expect any fine grained and steady speed control at that level. Windows is not realtime and trying to control anything reliably in software that is less than several 10ths of milliseconds is simply impossible without going into kernel mode and writing the timing critical parts in a kernel driver.
Also direct access to the paralell port registers is out of question for 64 bit Windows.

  • Measure a frequency out of the trigger counter sample vi

    Hello,
I want to measure the frequency of the simulated signal. I already succeeded in counting the pulse when rising. I probably need to integrate a wait until moduleso it will count the rising signal per time unit. I tried this but it didnt work out. Can you help me so that the VI will display the frequency with the wait until module.
    Kind regards,

  • Filter pitch/frequency out of wave file

I managed to record from an incoming line, using example code that I readily found on the web. Now I would like to apply a filter so that I get somehow a numerical output of the dominant frequency, the pitch of the most dominant sound.
I would like to know if there are java tools that could help with this, or whether this would have to be done by analyzing the file per hand.
    TIA

The burden shouldn't be all on the user's shoulders. LabView could make a backup of the VI prior to saving it, and if the save failed, it could at least restore the original file, instead of both crashing and corrupting the file.
    Neil
It could and I was under the impression that it does, but maybe it doesn't since that would slow down saves for larger libraries quite a bit, especially if the target volume is a different physical device than where the temporary directory is.
What OS X version is that? I would suppose that other applications shouldn't limit LabVIEW to much in what memory it has available, or does Mac OS X not virtualize each process like Windows does, so it gets to see as much memory as there is in the machine minus what the OS needs, even if there are numerous other applications using lots of memory too? "Out of memory" in LabVIEW really means that the OS refused a memory allocation request from LabVIEW and that means that there is absolutely no operation possible anymore safely. Unless you happen to have 100MBs or more of default data in your VI front panel I can't really imagine a situation that would cause out of memory situations during saving of the VI itself.
If you do use large default data in your VI front panel you should definitely reconsider your approach. It's a bad habit and should be replaced by reading that data at initialization time from a file or whatever.

  • FIR Maximum Frequency

    Hi,
I try to design FIR filters with 501 coefficients (single symmetric coefficient set) an with max frequency > 650 MHz.
Guess it should work because DSP48E1 max frequency is 740 MHz for 7-series -3 devices.
Actually, it works fine if the number of DSP48E1 is very low, but max frequency decreases drastically as the number of DSP48E1 increases.
Timing analysis gives the following results Constraint period is set to 1.425ns (700 MHz) :
For a 13 coefficients FIR filter, timings are correct :
    Setup slack : 0.088 ns (748 MHz)
    Min Pulse width : 0.075 (741 MHz)
For a 61 coefficients FIR filter, timings are :
    Setup slack : -0.142 ns (638 MHz)
    Min Pulse width : 0.075 (741 MHz)
Worst setup timing is between DSP48_X0Y19 PCOUT and DSP48_X0Y20 PCIN, that is at a clock region boundary.
Setup slack increases to 0.022ns, which is fine, if the FIR DSP slice column option is set to 20, 11 instead of the default value 31. Doing that, all DSP48 are in the clock region X0Y0.
Unfortunately, that strategy doesn't work for 501 coefficients!
Is there a way to improve the timing between PCOUT and PCIN at clock region boundaries?

You can try to use Xilinx FIR compiler IP
