Maximum length sound file in mms message i can receive?

If someone sends me a sound / voice memo type thing in a text/mms message from a different make of mobile, whats the max length i can receive on my 3GS?

I believe you can only recieve no more than 30 sec to a song through mms, regardless of the make and model... in order for you to recieve a full length song, they would need to send it to you via email

  • C3-01 - Can' t send MMS message but can receive an...

Hi,  I am having issues with sending MMS messages.  I believe I have all the correct AT&T settings as I set them up and even spoke with AT&T and they sent them to my phone.  I can send an MMS message, send and receive texts, access email via the AT&T network and everything else, but I can't seem to send a picture message.  Is there some unique phone setting that I a missing?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Pretty sure it will be a carrier issue, I had similar problem with my phone recently, and Vodafone emailed me the manual configuration settings, which I entered manually, now it's all working fine ! Contact AT&T again !

I,am unable to sent photos in messages  but can receive them. Help

The SIM question/issue is separate from all of the others.  Your iPhone will not access the cellular newtwork until you install a new SIM.  The current SIM has been deactivated and is now useless.  Get a new SIM, install it (or have it installed), then have your carrier grant the iPhone access to the cellualr network.

  • Field in data file exceeds maximum length - CTL file error

    Hi,
I am loading data in new system using CTL file. But I am getting error as 'Field in data file exceeds maximum length' for few records, other records are processed successfully. I have checked the length of the error record in the extract file, it is less than the length in the target table, VARCHAR2 (2000 Byte). Below is the example of error data,
Hi Rebecca~I have just spoken to our finance department and they have agreed that the ABCs payments made can be allocated to the overdue invoices, can you send any future invoices direct to me so that I can get them paid on time.~Hope this is ok ~Thanks~Terry~
Is this error caused because of the special characters in the string?
Below is the ctl file I am using,
    OPTIONS (SKIP=2)
    LOAD DATA
    CHARACTERSET WE8ISO8859P1
    INFILE  '$FILE'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE "XXDM_DM_17_ONACCOUNT_REC_SRC"
    WHEN (1)!= 'FOOTER='
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|'
    OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'

                                  <Column_name>,
                                  COMMENTS,
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  <Column_name>
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
I suspect this is because of the built in default length of character datatypes in sqldr - it defaults to char(255) taking no notice of what the actual table definition is.
Try adding CHAR(2000), to your controlfile so you end up with something like this:
    OPTIONS (SKIP=2)
    LOAD DATA
    CHARACTERSET WE8ISO8859P1
    INFILE  '$FILE'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE "XXDM_DM_17_ONACCOUNT_REC_SRC"
    WHEN (1)!= 'FOOTER='
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|'
    OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS (
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  COMMENTS CHAR(2000),
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  <Column_name>
    Cheers,
    Harry

  • What is maximum length .mov file that can be used in iDVD?

    Hello Appleheads
I created an HD .mov file in iMovie which I had added as a movie in iDVD - I find this works best for me, as exporting directly to iDVD from iMovie always results in stuttering when played back on a regular DVD player.
The .mov file is 2 hours and 14 minutes long, and 10.5GB
Am I right in thinking that the maximum length is 1 hour and 39 minutes? And does the size (GBs) have any bearing.
    Many thanks - Brion

    Hi Brion
Gbs or Mbs - doesn't play any role what so ever.
Time does - Time is = Movie duration + MENU DURATION
(a complex menu can easily take 15 minutes or even more)
    iDVD 08, 09 & 11 has three levels of qualities. (vers 7.0.1, 7,0.4 & 7.1.1)
iDVD 6 has the two last ones
    • Professional Quality (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - BEST
    • Best Performances (movies + menus  less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD
    • High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6) (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
    About double on DL DVDs.

  • Attachment dropped error on all sound files with mms

I have yet to be able to get a sound file of any type to work in mms. All I get is sn error like this:
    Filename.filetype
    Attachment Dropped: <filename.filetype> of type: <audio/mpeg; name=filename.mp3>
I haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem and AT&T doesn't seem to have a clue how to fix it...
I'm using a 3g iphone with 3.1 and the most current carrier file. Pictures seem to work fine.

Have you restarted your iPhone? Have you done a hard reset? In order to do a hard reset (a hard reset does not delete any data), hold down the home and sleep button (disregarding the power off slider) until the iPhone shuts off and turns back on. Once the iPhone turns back on, let go of the buttons and wait. It will take a little longer for the iPhone to boot up.
If that doesn't work, then I would say you might have to reinstall the firmware.

  • BB Curve 8520--Can't receive MMS messages, but can successfully send them.

I just got the BB Curve 8520 and I can send MMS messages successfully, but no matter how many times someone sends me a MMS, it does not make it to me. I tried changing my firewall and MMS settings, but this has still left me without any incoming MMS messages. It is supposed to be included in my plan with Rogers. Any suggestions?

  • I can recieve MMS messages, but can't send them?

I have "MMS messaging" turned on in settings. When I turn Cellular data on I can receive MMS messages; but I can't send them. It just starts sending them and then the red exclamation mark appears. How can I change that?

I have the same problem on the same phone.  My 4S is manufacturer unlocked and I use it on the SimpleMobile system which is basically T-Mobile.  I am running iOS 8.  I had to delete the profile, reset the network settings, input the APN settings all over again with iMessage and 3g and WIFI turned off, and then I had to restart the phone.  Not sure if I just got lucky because I have tried most of these steps before but this time it seemed to work.
    Good luck.

  • File Sharing Welcome message greeting - can't get rid of it

A long time ago I had a Tiger server running and I had set it to display a welcome message, a greeting, upon any user connecting to a share point. At some point in time I had migrated over some preference settings into my now current standard Leopard workstation on my iMac C2D 2.4GHz. So now when I have file sharing active and I connect from another Mac in the house, I still get the Welcome message I had set up long ago. I cannot for the life of me figure out which preference file is responsible for this Welcome message that pops up when I connect to my iMac over my local network. Its a problem because I have other Macs on my network connecting for Time machine backups but they get hung up on the Welcome message which requires the other use to hit the OK button to move on. If no one is there then the OK button won't get pressed. Does anyone know how to get rid of this file sharing Welcome message

haha never mind, I found it using Cocktail, has a preference for greeting upon connections with file sharing.

  • 3Gs. Can't send mms messages, o2 can't help and said it's a phone problem. Can anyone help please

Am I the only one experiencing problems with MMS on my iphone. I've been trying to send a picture message to a 4s for 2 days and o2 say it's not their problem, it's a fault that Apple are having.

Can you send/receive SMS's? MMS turned on in settings? If you answer yes to both of those questions, 99.9% of the time the problem rests with you carrier/provider. Either MMS is not enabled or provisioned properly on your account. If this is the situation with you, call your carrier back & talk to someone who knows what they're talking about. Have them reset MMS.
