Maximum Lot Size & Maximum Stock Level

Hi All,
In MRP 1 view we have Max Lot Size & Max Stock level, how the system give me requirement if i'm maintaining these fields.
Regards
Ashok

Hi Ashok,
If you mainatain Max lot size system will check for this qty & it will not allow to generate PR or planned order more than this qty in MRP run & Max stock level is the stock for replinshment where lot size if replinishing.

  • Maximum lot size - create order manually

    Hi Experts,
we are in the implementation phase of the project (PPDS) and need your help.
For the products we have the data of Maximum Lot Size, that is a constrain for the process. But when we execute manual adjustments/creation of the planned orders, this maximum lot size is not respected, because for the manual orders is used the heuristic SAP_PP_001 Change Order Manually.
We need to consider the maximum lot size even for manual adjustments/creation.
Does anyone knows a way to consider the maximum lot size when create orders manually?
    Thanks in advance
    Thiago Cyrillo

    Hi Hans,
If as per the requirement you want the system to take into account the period of 63 days reqirement , then as my experience the lot size field should be changed from  the daily lot size .......or else the setting is quite redundant in nature........in accordance to your business requirement.
Check for the period lot sizing for detail information..........incase you have any query then let me know ......
Please reward points if it is helpful.........
    Thanks

  • Rounding Value,Minimum Lot Size and Maximum Lot Siz parameters

    Hello Gurus,
Please explain me the what is the use of the parameter Rounding Value
,Minimum Lot Size and Maximum Lot Size parameters in the product master and how does it in impact during the Heuristic Run?
    Thanks.

Rounding value is the incremental quantities in which the order can be produced/procured. Eg. if orders are possible with quantities 40,60, 80, 100 etc..then rounding value is 20.
Min lot size is the minimum quanity in which order can be produced eg. 40 in above example
Max lot size is the maximum quanitity in which the order can be produced/procured. eg. 100 in our example
Impact on Heuristic run: heuristics takes all the above parameter to plan supply order. eg. if requirement is 55, it will supply plan for 60. If requirement is 120, it will produce two orders - one for 100 and the other for 20. if the reuqirement is 10, the order size will be 40.
    Hope this helps.

  • Planned orders created with more than Maximum lot size??

    Hi Gurus,
we have a lot size 'EX' with maximum lot size =480.
But, for the materail when we run MRP we found that aplanned order is created for 1000.
Please help me to find the root cause.
    Thank you.
    Naveen.

    Hi
What is that material. If it fert and then yes system will create if you have mentioned max lot size.
Because the max lot size does not control prodcution, it only controls the procurement side

  • MRP Settings - Minimum Lot size / Saftey stock /Lot Size

    Hi
I am confused about some of the settings , We set M1(Monthly lot size ) and PD MRP type settings, We maintained the Minimum lot size as 2500 lb and the safety stock as 300.
I tested by changing the Parameters , I am confused.
    Please clarify me
Did MRP is going to suggest the PR once if the stock went below 300 ?
Did MRP is going to wait for the PIR to get accumulate the Minimum lot size settings ?
What will happend if the time bound is beyond a month ?
Please help me to understand the concept
    Thanks

    Hi,
Use tcode OWD1 to create rounding profile.
Select create icon for creating new rounding profile.
    Input new profile name.
In that Threshold value & Rounding value is available.
    Input your value & save.
In MRP1 view give the input of rounding profile.
Example given below for easy understanding.
    Threshold value  Rounding value
        1- 20 -
    >                20
      60- 100 -
    >              100
      900-1000 -
    >           1000
      8000-10000 -
    >     10000
If your requirement is 7, it will convert to 20.
If your requirement is 23, it will convert to 40.
If your requirement is 76, it will convert to 100.
If your requirement is 435, it will convert to 440.
If your requirement is 844, it will convert to 860.
If your requirement is 910, it will convert to 1000.
If your requirement is 8045, it will convert to 10000.
    Hope it will helps you.

  • EX lot size for maximum value

Hi Could someone answer this, my minimum lot size is 100 and max is 500, when my PIR qty is 90 it will generate planned order for 100 where as when my PIR is 600, i am expecting the planned order qty for 500 but it always the same with minimum lot size, is there any specific reason? using mrp type PD.

    Hi Sprint,
Well you have to go through with the lot size procedures OK. EX means lot for lot order quantity so it does not consider the MINIMUM lot size OK please check once again OK.
If you are order quantity is 600 and maximum lot size is 500 then after running the MRP go to MD04 screen you can see there planned orders will be created so there first it will create Planned order for 500 quantity and then there will be another planned order for 100 please check once OK.
It will consider only maximum lot size OK.

  • Reorder Level Planning with Min. Lot Size

    Hi All,
I am trying to configure MRP Run. I am maintaining following Data
    1. Reorder Level
    2. Maximum Stock Level ( stock beyond which PR cannot be raised or stock cannot be maintained.
    3. Min Lot size (lot size of which PR should be raised.
    can anybody please help.

    Hi
Max.stock level can be use with lotsize HB not with VB. But you can use max.stock level and minimum lot size with reorder point planning.
    Ex. Reorder point -10
    Max. stock level - 20
    Stock -9
When the stock level goes below 10, system will create a P.R to topup the stock value for 20.
    Ex. Reorder point -10
    Min.lot size - 5
    Stock value - 9
When the stock level goes below 10 ie, 9 , system will create a P.R to topup the reorder point. But the min lot size is 5. So P.R will generate with quantity 5.

  • Reg: lot size and replenishment lead time

    1. please explain about lot size and replenishment lead time.
    2. please also explain about consumption based planing and in steps explain how to perform manual and automatic reorder point(transc code please)

You use the lot-sizing procedure to determine how the system is to calculate the reorder quantity in the planning run.
A lot size defining the lot-sizing procedure is assigned to every material master record applicable to materials planning.
The lot size is defined in Customizing by the combination of the lot-sizing procedure and the lot-sizing indicator.
Three procedures for lot sizing are available:
    o  static lot-sizing procedures
    o  period lot-sizing procedures
    o  optimizing lot-sizing procedures
You use the lot-size indicator to define the procedure.
The following parameters are also available for controlling the lot-sizing procedure:
    o  Short-term and long-term lot size
You can split the lot-sizing procedure into a short-term and a long-term period. This means that you can select one lot-sizing procedure in the near future and a different one in the distant future.
You define the periods in the section of the screen entitled "End of the short-term period/start of the long-term period".
The valid from date of the long-term lot size area is defined via:
       -  a periodicity
       -  a number of periods
The beginning of the long-term period is calculated by taking today's date and adding the number of periods in the future; the long-term planning period then starts on the next complete period.
       Note
For materials that are planned using the short and long-term lot size,
it is recommended that you define a maximum MRP period. Defining the
MRP period has the effect that materials after a certain period are
included in planning even if no changes relevant to the planning run
have occurred. This avoids a situation where order proposals created
with the long-term lot size move into the short-term period because no
changes relevant to MRP have occurred for the material.
You define the maximum MRP period in the step, "Define maximum MRP
period". A material that is planned on a regular basis should also be
provided with an MRP type that contains the indicator for regular MRP.
    o  Scheduling indicator
For period lot sizes, you can use the indicator for scheduling to
       determine whether the availability date;
o  is to be set to the first requirements date in the period
o  or is to be set to the beginning of the period
o  is to be set to the end of the period
o  or whether the period start represents the beginning of the planned
order and the period end represents the availability date (repetitive
    manufacturing)
      Interpretation of the delivery times
For the lot-sizing procedure, you can also define whether the period
start is to be interpreted as the delivery date or as the availability
date using the indicator, "interpretation of the calendar times".
      NOTE
The indicators, Scheduling and Interpr.deliv.times are mutually
      exclusive.
      Indicator for the splitting quota
For the quota arrangements, you can determine whether the requirements
quantities are to be distributed to several items, that is, whether
they are to be split. With the splitting quota arrangement,
requirement quantities are not simply allocated to the smallest quota
rating. Instead, they are distributed among various sources using the
      following formula:
Quantity for source of supply X = Quota of source X * reqmts quantity
    Sum of all quotas
      Overlapping indicator
The overlapping indicator along with the cycle time in the material
master record are used to split the planned orders into several
partial quantities whereby the in-house production time overlaps by
      the cycle time.
      Lot-sizing procedure for make-to-order production
In make-to-order production, you can use the indicator, Lot size for
      make-to-order production to determine whether,
the order quantity is to be calculated using the exact lot size
the order quantity is to be calculated using the exact lot size and
the system is also to take the rounding quantity or the minimum and
      maximum lot size into account
the order quantity is to be calculated using the lot-sizing procedure
      defined for the short-term area
      Maximum stock level variant
The system only displays the Maximum stock level variant field in the
lot-sizing procedure, Replenishing to maximum stock level. The
indicator only has an effect in connection with reorder point planning
taking external requirements into account and in connection with
material requirements planning and controls how the system calculates
      lot sizes.

  • Lot size exclusion from planning run

    Hi Gurus
My scenario is some materials are maintained with lot sizes as EX , VB, HB ,  when planning run executed , the system should not consider the VB and HB lot sizes ( these are not bom components) and no procurement proposal should exist , we are not following storage location MRP ,
Pl come back in full thanks in advance
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi ramki
VB is MRP type not lot size. VB consumption based planning with manual reorder point. The planning proposal will be created based on your reorder level.
HB is lot size of " Replinishment to maximum lot size "
Normally oils and others are procured where the storage tank capacity is restricted. The max replish level will be your max tank capacity.  You can define them as cosumable materials or bulk materials.

  • MRP net requirement calcualtion for Lot sizes

    Hi all ,
Can some one help me on this ..
I want to set up the MRP for the Raw materials Procurement .
for this i want use MRP type as PD and lot size as WB Weekly lot size .
but as per the requirement the MRP is run daily , i need clarification on certain things such as how does the system calculates the weekly lot size ?  say if the requirement is converted into PR on the first day of the MRP run ,followed by that if the requirement varies does the system creates a new PR or it changes the Qty in the existing PR if its was not converted to PO .
what are the stock types considered during PR creation and how are the delivery dates determined during the PR creation ?
    thanks ,
    ksr

    Hi Chris
You can try to set up a maximum lot size and a takt time on the material master.
Take a look on the F1 help of this field on the material master:
    Takt time
If a requirement quantity (for example, for capacity reasons) cannot be procured in a single lot, you have to schedule several receipts. In conjunction with the overlap indicator in the lot size (set in Customizing for the lot size), you can use the takt time to specify that these receipts are offset, that is, that they are delayed by the takt time.
You enter the takt time in workdays.
    Use
The system uses the takt time if a requirement is covered by several receipt elements due to restrictions on lot size such as maximum lot size (with all lot-sizing procedures) or rounding value (with fixed lot size with splitting).

  • BOM explosion report and lot size

    Hi all
We have created a Z report for BOM explosion . Here it gives the user the option to explode the BOM at the desired level.
We have an enhancement ticket where  the user wants an additional field of Minimum lot size and Maximum lot size in the report.
Before assigning a task to the ABAP team , I request if some one explains the feasibility and its impact on this report. Thanks in advance .

  • Lot size in MTO

    Hi Experts,
I am using strategy 20, my FG batch size is 100 and i have a sale order of 120. I want the system to create 2 planned orders of 100 and 20. I tried with lot size EX and maximum lot size 20, but system made a single planned order of 120. Have i made any mistake, how can i address my requirement ? Please advise.
    Best regards
    Sm.

    Dear ,
In MTO process , sales order qty can't not be spillited beacause , MRP system will not generate planned order detail scheduling to match the Schedule Delivery Date in Sales Order line item .
If you maintain lot size as EX and max lot size is 100 for the quantity of 120,system will create total 2 planned orders.Out of 2 numbers 1 will be  with qty 100 and second one will be 20.In OMI4 open the details screen of the lot size which u are using
in the details screen there is a indicator LAST LOT EXACT now if u tick this indicator then the system will create the last lot exact
Basically , your requirement can be done through MTS which will possible .
    Hope it is clear

  • Maximium lot  size is 200 in MRP1 view.I have purchase order which 400 qty

Maximium lot  size is 200 in MRP1 view.I have purchase order which 400 qty , but my system is allowing to  pick 400 qty, can you please say wat may be the reason
    regards
    sakthi

    Hello,
As others others experts are saying your maximum lot size will only work for MRP run not for manual created PR.
The system takes this value into account during the automatic lot size calculation for planned orders and production orders. The lot size of the individual orders cannot exceed this value

  • Lot size data

I have a maximum lot size for my procurement parts. If my requirements for a day are higher than this quantity I want to have a supply with my maximum quantity for this date and the other quantity on the next days. Not at the same day.
The system creates splitted deliveries for the same day.
    Which settings are necessary?
    Thank you for suggestions.

    Hi,
Use Lot size EX - Lot for lot order qty and assign max lot size in MRP1 view.
In MRP 2 view assign TAKT time 1 day.
So when MRP run system will generate procurement proposal for the required qty if it is less than max lot size.
If the requirement qty is more than max lot size system will split the qty & generate one more procurement proposal for the next day.

  • Fixed lot size and Minimum lot size

    Dear senior,
My client has the following scenario. His supplier provides the item in a fixed lot size of 100. The minimum lot size to be ordered is 300.
The supplier is a fixed vendor.
I tried to maintain this information in the Material Master MRP views. Lot size  - FX, Fixed lot size - 100, Minimum lot size - 300.
However, everytime, the minimum lot size will get reset.
Is there any way , I can maintain this scenario via configuration or any other method?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Fixed lot size - 100 means for every 100 quantity system will create one purchase document.
If you selected Lot size - FX - Fixed order quantity , then no need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields.
Then you have to maintain Fixed lot size filed only.
    Ex:
    Lot size = FX
    Fixed lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 300. Then system will create 3 PO's with quantity of 100 each.
If Lot size is Ex - Lot-for-lot order quantity, then only need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields in the MRP 1 view.
    Ex: Lot size = EX
    Minimum lot size = 60
    Maximum lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 250. Then system will create 3 purchase documents, two documents with the quantity of 100 and third one with the quantity of 60.
That's why, in your case system is reseting Minimum lot size every time.
If you want to maintain Minimum lot size, then maintain
    Lot size as EX
    Minimum lot size = 100
    Max lot size = 300
    It will solve your problem.
    Regards
