Maximum memory Linux can handle for IAS9i r2

I have installed the complete IAS r2 on Redhat Advanced Server on one box.
My box currently has 512mb of ram which is all being used.
The swap file is currently using 1 gig.
This is without any users accessing the system!!!
I have got the go ahead from my boss to increase the memory.
The box can take 6 gig of ram.
Can Linux handle this amount of ram.

Orlando

Yes I did have a problem with the net configuration hanging when I performed the install.
I had to cancel it, the rest of the install seemed to work fine. Afterwards I ran the command manually.
You can get the command to run from your install.log file. Locate the section that starts off the configuration tools. I placed the command to set off the net configuration tool at the end of this post. If you decide to use it, you should change the directories to suit your own setup.

  • Connection kit (USB Camera adpter) Maximum memory iPad can handle?

I had a iPad mini and I'm not sure about the USB Camera adapter or SD Card camera adapter can support how much the external hard drive memory? Are these things can support a maximum of 32GB more or less?

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit. ie, It's not an external hard drive.

Download Mactracker.  This software will tell you the max amount of RAM your model iMac can handle.
Due to security reasons, NEVER post serial #s on a public message board.  Will notify a HOST to remove/edit.

  • Maximum file size that OSB can handle for JMS

    Hi,
We have a requirement to process 60MB xml files over JMS in Oracle Service Bus. While prototyping this we are facing heap space errors.
Can somebody let me know what is the maximum file size that we can process? The scenario is as below.
    JMS --> OSB --> JMS --> OSB --> JMS
    Thanks

if you don't need to access the entire content of the message, you can try using content streaming
(see this OSB - Iterating over large XML files with content streaming discussion)
See also here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1110513 for best practices.
Otherwise I have noticed myself that OSB is very hungry in memory when loading large messages. I had trouble even with a 5 MB binary file being loaded - this would take 500 MB RAM. in these cases I would rather look for ETL tools such as Oracle Data Integrator or Open Source Pentaho.

  • Maximum RAM macbook can handle

what's the maximum RAM that a 2.16GHz macbook core 2 duo can utilize/handle?
if i install a total of 4gb in RAM, will all the 4gb be utilized or just 3gb of it?
    thanks

    Hi,
My 2.16 GHz MacBook is currently running with 2.5 GB of RAM. I had originally ordered it with 1 GB (2 512 MB SODIMMs), but upgraded one of the original SODIMMs to a 2 GB stick from OtherWorldComputing.com. The system runs beautifully, never and issue. I purchased my MacBook in mid-May 2006 and the memory about 2 weeks later.
I believe the MacBook will only address up to 3 GB. If you put 2 2GB sticks in it, it will still only address 3 GB, although you may achieve a slight performance benefit from having matched DIMMs. The charts published by OtherWorldComputing.com suggested to me that the performance increase I would see by having an extra 1.5GB of RAM would far outweigh the slight penalty for not having matched DIMMs. And at the time, it was cheaper to go with a 2 GB stick than upgrading both 512 MB sticks to 1 GB sticks...plus I got an extra 512 MB of RAM to boot.

  • Howt to calculate the maximum memory that can be used in Hyper-V

Most of the time i start using a "rule of thumb" of 3/4:
All VMs must not use more than 3/4 of the total physical RAM of the Host/Physical Machine
    I´t s "good guess"?
Of course it dependes on many factors, like backup software or other components besides Hyper-V, dynamic memory and so on.
So, i found on a BizTalk tech article the following rule:
    300 MB for
    the
    Hypervisor
    plus
    32 MB for
    the
    first GB
    of RAM
    allocated
    to
    each virtual
    machine
    plus
    another 8 MB for
    every
    additional GB
    of RAM
    allocated
    to
    each virtual
    machine
    plus
    512 MB for
    the host
    operating system
    running
    on
    the root
    partition
    It is right?
This rule is OK? It´s a good measure?

    Hi,
for Windows Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2 Host OS your formular is right. For later operating Systems you don't have to worry about this since the operating systems automatically reserves the needed RAM.

  • What is the maximum  files ZipOutputStream can handle ?

    Hi all,
Can ZipOutputStream support the zipping of a folder which contain large amount of files eg around 10 GB of data ? If so, what is the heap size require to open such a huge zip file ?
Is it better I break the total amount of files into small portion, and zip the small portions ?
    Thanks

    Why don't you try it?

  • 880GM-E43 - What is the "real" maximum memory for this mobo?

    Hi,
I have a system that I built awhile ago that uses the 880GM-E43 mobo.  At the time that I built this system, everything that I found indicated that the max memory was 16GB (4 x 4GB), which is what I have installed now.
I've been wanting to have more memory (lots of VMware guests), so I've been starting to look at building a new system, which I thought would have required a different mobo that supports 32GB (4 x 8GB) and a new set of 8GB memory sticks.
While I was researching that, I found this:
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/880GM-E43.html
and under the Specifications tab, it says:
    Code: [Select]
    DDR3 Memory DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600*(OC)
    DDR2 Memory N/A
    Memory Channel Dual
    DIMM Slots 4
    Max Memory (GB) 32
Everywhere else, other than the MSI website itself, still seems to say "16GB" max.
Does anyone know which maximum is correct?  Is it 16GB, or is it 32GB?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Jim

It's only limited to what the CPU can handle, and that is far more then you can buy at this time
However, MSI only tested at the time of production of the board.
So if you use bigger modules you have to test yourself if it works with your CPU, the board got nothing to do with it.
What ever you do, don't mix sizes and brands, often goes wrong.
    Bas,
Not doubting what you said, but I hope that's the case.  Will post back as soon as it gets in and I get a chance to test it.  As you suggested, I'll initially remove the 4x4GB sticks, and replace them with the new 2x8GB sticks, and see how that works.  If it that works, I'll put in the additional 2x4GB (understood what you said, but this is interim).
Then, if that works, I can wait for maybe prices to drop to get an additional 2x8GB kit, but going to 24GB will help a lot with the work that I'm doing (mostly Vmware guests).

  • OSB 11g - Maximum file size OSB can handle

    Hi,
What is the maximum size (of a file) which OSB can handle, when then file is polled using FTP, and then use XQuery transformation on it?
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

Processing large files in OSB will be limited by the constraints on both Heap Memory and CPU utilization.
To load larger objects in memory you will need enough Heap Size. If your heap size is not enough you will start getting Out of memory errors and weblogic server might crash. You can either add more memory to the server(which itself has a limit) or you can use content streaming. When you use content streaming the whole object will not be loaded into memory buffer and you will be able to consume large messages. But content streaming has certain limitations because the whole object is not loaded in memory. You can find these limitations at following link and decide if you can implement your use case with these limitations.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1110513
If not then the best possible option would be to break the file into smaller chunks and then using OSB to read and process those chunks.
Another limitation is the CPU utilization. If you are not transforming the large content CPU should not be an issue. But if you need to transform before passing the payload to backend system then it becomes complicated. Transformations (both XQuery and XSLT ) take a lot of CPU cycles and if you are transforming huge payloads it will consume 100% CPU resulting in overall deterioration of the performance. Like Anuj mentioned, it is not recommended to have complex transformations and transformations of large XMLs within OSB. Its best to move out such transformations to other systems. But, it is also not recommended that you move many transformations to various backend systems. If your architecture involved many flows which have transformations on large objects, you should think about spending on an XML Appliance meant for transformations. These products are purpose built to focus on doing complex XMLXML processing with little impact on the overall CPU utilization. They use hardware acceleration to achieve this. You can contact Oracle Sales team or Oracle support to get more information about this.

  • What is the maximum size a sender SOAP adapter can handle?

    Hi,
I am using sender SOAP adapter and receiver RFC adapter.
What is the maximum size of request message it can handle efficiently.
In the current scenario which I need to design , the request XML file could be up to 24 MB.
Also if you could comment on which would be the best to use as the sender side - SOAP or File Adapter
when the request message/file is of such size?
    regards
    Arun G

    hi,
    >What is the maximum size of request message it can handle efficiently.
it totally depends on your hardware and flow design inside XI/PI
    >In the current scenario which I need to design , the request XML file could be up to 24 MB.
this size is not a lot for a "normal" XI machine but it also depends on the
volume of those messages - that is if you need to send
one message like that per day or 1000 per half an hour...
    >Also if you could comment on which would be the best to use as the sender side - SOAP or File Adapter
when the request message/file is of such size?
SAP's general recommendation is to use messages around 5mb
but it heavily depends on other factors so don't threat it as a must

  • Maximum Message size OSB can handle

    Hi,
I am trying to find out the maximum message size OSB can handle without any problems.
I know this may be dependant on JVM settings etc,but what is a safe limit. Can the payload size be of 1 GB etc , say for a WSDL based proxy service.
Any formal documentation on the size of messages?

    HI,
How to find maximum number of users we can assign for Hyperion Planning.i.e., how to find license limit in hyperion planning 11.1.2.1.
In Essbase propreties, the system is showing maximum planning users could be 65535.
what would be the number for concurrent scenario?
    Thanks

The number of users would be based on your license agreement with Oracle, the system is not aware of your license agreement so it is up to you to stick to it.

  • Is there a maximum input file size Flash CS3 Video Encoder can handle?

I am stuck with this encoder and attempting to "TRIM" an MPG file to specific time in/time out points for CBT course (the video is close to 500 meg). When I click the "Start Queue" it zips through with a bunch of black area then slows and only gives maybe 5 or 10 seconds of video.

That isn't what I asked. I don't need to know how large a pdf file that can be created is. And that thread you posted the link for says the maximum is 10GB's. Acrobat supposedly has the ability to convert an HTML file to a PDF file. I need to know what is the largest size HTML file that Acrobat can open for the purposes of converting it to a PDF file? As I said, I tried to get Acrobat to open an 81MB HTML file, for purposes of converting it to a PDF file (I had not even started the conversion process yet; I was just trying to do a File -> Open of an HTML file), and after sitting there trying for a few hours, Acrobat finally crashed. So, I need to know how I'm going to get Acrobat to convert this HTML file to a PDF file....or maybe it is just unable to do so.
